belabela:You are still not answering the question. You can call it lobby. ... or intimidation. Was there any role played by the state govt to the relocation of NLNG or they moved at will? In this era of local content, the multinationals must comply or get frustrated out. |
belabela:The host state is rivers state and PAYE tax goes to the state. That is what Rivers state is missing out when they domicile their staff in Lagos. Federal powers end at the JV agreement and as long as the appropriate volumes are lifted and cash calls made .... the state remains the host. In a case where the multinational proves stubborn, the state govt and immediate community host could initiate hostilities that would run them out of business. I repeat, no sane multinational will say no when there is no need to. If they have challenges, they can bring it up with the state for discussions. Why did NLNG relocate to Rivers state when Amaechi insisted? |
belabela:You are wrong on this one ma'am. You cant exploit the resources of louisiana and have 75% of your staff operating from texas. There are many ways to go about it without saying it outrightly. You can come up policies that influence the tax and land use charges such that the local head count of the staff determines the how much gets excluded from their remittance. In a case where the multinationals have true challenges, they can work with the govt to fix it. It has nothing to do with lagos being the commercial centre. .... their target markets are not located in Lagos. If there are specifics why they cant operate from PH, they can bring it up for discussions. They can have their administrative staff ip in Lagos but less than 5% of total staff strength. But no sane multinational wants to be on the wrong side of its host government even when there is no incentive for such. They can run you out of business and double/ triple your operating cost. |
HzRF:I agree The South south can turn current happenings to their favour. This is the first time the golden geese is in the opposition. Just like APC played hard and dirty to get political power, South South must play it hard this time to control her resources and its effects. |
9jatriot:Stop crying more than the bereaved. Amaechi is history in Nigerian politics and can never win any elective position in Nigeria as long as Rivers people are the electorate. We are looking forward and these policies must be implemented by Wike. Cry us a river. |
9jatriot:Quit the noise, what is ambode coming onboard to do? After being sacked from civil service for financial recklessness yet the yoruba Lagosians found him suitable. Why are you crying more than the bereaved? Rivers people have spoken. Live with it. |
4. Its time to get down to real projects not the white elephant mono-rail projects. Its time to elevate PH to ots true status. Akpabio did a good job in giving Akwaibom a face lift. .... its time to replicate same and much more in rivers state |
3. Its time to take local content seriously. With the current structure of Nigeria, every region must maximise it manpower capacities. Oil and gas jobs for South southerners first before considering any other region. Time to review the regional staff mix of these companies. If the southerers have to leave lagos then all the yoruba staff earning humongous amounts of money need to leave the delta region. |
Now that it's clear that APC has no place in Rivers politics after a whooping 1million votes difference. ... rivers people have spoken. No tribunal will be silly enough to upturn 1million votes. Actions for Wike 1. In the first three weeks in office, we need to know how much is missing from the coffers of Rivers state under Amaechi. He should be charged straight to court for wasting funds meant to develop rivers state on bankrolling a presidential candidate. We would be keenly watching to see how the anti-corruption president Buhari would afford to have an endemically corrupt Amaechi in his cabinet. 2. Just like Amaechi saw to the relocation of NLNG to rivers state from Lagos, All oil producing companies with majority of their fields in rivers state must relocate ALL offices down to rivers state from lagos state. 95% of their work forces should operate from their PH bases. These should include but not limited Shell, Agip, Septa, Total etc. This will greatly drive up the economy and development of rivers state. I expect Delta and Akwaibom to follow suit in dragging back Chevron and Mobil to their operational basis It is expected that once the IOCs relocate, all the service companies operating with them will follow suit. |
searching4love:Quit the chest beating. They are requesting, they are not begging. Be sure that before the military arrives, all the oil facilities will be up in flames and our revenue will be near zero. Violence is not an option here, it has never worked. |
Lol |
Rubbish Which site is www...com? How can any dummy believe that $20billion (4.4trillion naira) can get missing in a hand to mouth economy like Nigeria? Our problem is not corruption but stark illiteracy of the over 95% of the populace (both schooled and unschooled) |
Nigeria is sitting on a wrong structure. Until that structure is corrected ... These issues will continue. No tribe is indispensable but we actually need each other. Under true federalism, regions will poach groups that add value to them rather than chase them away. Enough of the ibo write-ups.... they actually dont care either. |
APC should go to bed Conduct 30 rerun elections in rivers state, peterside wont get 20% in any But they should be careful not initiate anarchy on an obvious matter. We've seen pics of underage voters and ballot box snatchers in the north yet no one is calling for cancellation in those regions. We heard of violence in Bauchi and Gombe.... yet no calls for cancellation. PDP gubernatorial losers have been calling their APC opponents in conceding their loses but their APC counterparts wont dare such. |
Somethings dont just look right Zero emotions. .... just too mechanical for the camera |

Never worry about the ibo race because they are tested survivors. Despite the setbacks of the civil war and apparent marginalization. .... they have been the most successful tribe on a head to head basis. They obviously don't need the govt to thrive. Shut the door against them in a particular location and you still lose because they will be off to the next location and will still make it big there.. They are one bold race who never chickens out at a threat. They are risk takers too with a tough skin. They've got their weaknesses too just like every other race but anything they touch turns gold. It seems the more you hate on them, the more they draw their inspiration from the hate. The yorubas should be more worried about the resulting exit of the ibos. The ibos will always do well for themselves but the yourubas are the ones to lose big time in the lagos economy. Again dont expect the ibos to fold their hands while you mete out inhumane policies on them. Personally I think the Ibos actually gained rather than lost this time. For once, The SS got a direct feel of marginalization and the SE gained a prized ally. In the coming months, eyes would be on Buhari's posture on governance and the apathy to a marginalized SE/SS will be very vocal this time. Keep watching. |
Amaechi will go down as the greatest disgrace from the southern part of Nigeria. Even after spending funds meant to develop rivers people on bankrolling and campaining for a presidential candidate at the expense of his people. ...... He is still bent on setting the state on fire before heading to Abuja to assume his cabinet role under Buhari Is it not clear to him that Rivers people are averse to APC? Is it not clear enough that APC is unpopular in the south south and south east? What point is Amaechi trying to make by causing violence and killing Rivers people for a role he is not assuming himself? After Wike is sworn in, and the probe begins and we figure out how much Amaechi spent on Buhari's campaign at the expense of Rivers people, then shall prosecute him adequately And hopefully, Buhari who should be fighting corruption at that time cannot afford to have such criminal with stolen funds charges hanging around his neck within his cabinet. Amaechi's case shall be a true test of Buhari's fight against corruption. |
Total votes is still less than 900k Where is the remaining 1 million votes ...... we are patiently waiting. |
Lol |
Our divisions are deep. |
This is child abuse |
Abagworo:Focus on your owerri politics, this topic is beyond you. |
Buhari's posture at the presidency for the first six months will define Nigeria's future as a country. The presidential and gubernatorial elections results along geographical maps are testimonies to our deep differences. An unbiased observer should be truly disturbed about the emerging trends. The lines are drawn, the differences deepen and future uncertain. Just one trigger and Nigeria as we know it might be history. The individual nations seem to be totally aligned. |
Peterside wont get 30% of total votes |
Lol.... Amaechi is the loser not peterside |
Voters apathy is at an all time high after GEJ's loss |
Is Ikwere a location or a tribe in rivers state? |
Niger delta must be watched closely in the coming months. The dynamics are disturbing. |
Obama has made more enemies for the USA |

Rivers state does not award oil contracts in Nigeria it is all done through the Federal government via NNPC. Our fedearlism isn't that federal unfortunately. That is why Tinubu started screaming resource control those days when Obasanjo refused to pay Lagos state cos states don't control their resources in Nigeria.
