For those who call Amaechi their hero..... there you have it. The courts have been shut for years and Rivers people are languishing in jails because their cases cant be heard The funds meant to develop Rivers State and her people have been wasted on a non related campaign Rivers people have rejected Amaechi and all he stands for but he won't let go. He is keen on setting the state on fire before he leaves by conducting elections 6days to handover after disregarding same elections for a good part of his 8years. In few years time, Amaechi will go down as the worst politician south of Nigeria. |
Until we revisit the structure of Nigeria, We will never achieve our potentials. Implementation of the confab report was one reason the West wanted GEJ out because they know that once we get our structure right..... we will be a great force both in the region and globally. 90% of our problems as a country is fundamentally due to our awkward structure. Creation of new states is unnecessary but strip the federal of utmost powers and let the regions manage themselves and contribute to the centre. If the regions agree on new states within their regions and can fund it.... so be it. The federal can keep key structures like the army and several other key parastatals that will ensure unity of the country. The less viable regions can be supported by the more viable ones in a defined time frame. Its time to embrace productivity and lets work towards a better united Nigeria. |
I seriously think GMB should engage his advisers ASAP. For the most part of the globe, IOCs take the fore front of exploration activities. FG can only encourage exploration in the chad basin. We have spent donkey millions and billions in the same basin in the past sourcing non-existent oil..... Why waste limited resources when there are more pressing issues Besides, even if the FG takes the lead and find traces of oil, FG still cannot produce it themselves. And if the IOCs don't find it viable .... Such fields will never be produced. Focus on restoring security and provide the enabling environment to do their job. IOCs are always in search of viable fields, if the chad basin was viable.... You can't force it... They will find their way there. Despite the crises in iraq, exploration and production is ongoing because they have viable field..... You don't force it. Am uncomfortable with the focus area of the incoming govt especially on social welfare and chad basin exploration. There are more pressing issues. |
Must be connected to the concluded elections. He probably played a fast one with some power brokers against the presidency. |
Why do uninformed online wranglers argue about what they have no clue about? Another quack calculation...... Misinforming innocent Nigerians |
Its ok to provide advise ..... Most have been purely centred on corruption, power supply and unemployment. However, most advisers have been missing a very valid point. GEJ even with the best intentions got distracted by security problems. Nigeria is endemically divided and the election geo-graphical patterns reveals our obvious divisions along religious and ethnic lines. Every decision by the incoming government will be dissected along same tribal and religious sentiments. As such, one key advise to Buhari is that he must learn very fast in being a national president. There must be a very conscious effort to be seen as carrying everybody along. A reaction by a section of the country could halt all good intentions. An uprising in the Niger delta will halt all capital projects across the country, dampen investor confidence and spoil the efforts towards towards constant power as the gas pipelines to the power turbines will be easily sabotaged. This could single handedly end hopes of employment opportunities and constant power. I wish him lots of wisdom cos he'll be needing it. |
jpphilips:Your comment in its generic form does not stand true. Post 2004 after FG failed to meet up with their own side of the JV bargain, they got into all forms of funding. Including but not limited production sharing contracts, modified carry agreements (where the IOCS bear 100% cost and recover FG share through volume recovery) and many forms of external funding. However this form of funding is limited to capital intensive project. JV funding is still used for funding general operations, brownfield projects and small/ medium scale projects. Besides, in all these forms of funding the IOCs and lenders recover through crude volumes whoch is not directly into FG pocket. Further shows the quack calculation by the OP. |
OP like many Nigerians are shallow economists. So many holes can be easily picked from the quack calculations 1a. Where is the 13% derivation to the oil producing states? Or you assumed the FG takes the full 60% of crude sales revenue? ..... and even after 13% deduction, only 54% of the residual 47% (excluding 13% for producing states and 40% for the IOCs) of total crude sales revenue goes to the FG. 1b. FG budget is for FG expenditure alone. FG does not budget for states...... so where are the state allocations funded from since they are not captured in the FG budget?.... for your education, 46% of the residual revenue is meant for states and LGs. 2. Where do you think the capital cost of oil and gas projects come from for which the FG pays its 60% share? Or you think the oil flows on its own without spending money? 3. 2.65trillion of the 4.69trillion IGR you quoted on FIRS is already petroleum profit. Go back check the details and confirm you have double dipped same funds on both sources. 4. Your assumption that FG takes all the IGR generated by FIRS is wrong. Discount the amount accruable to the states first in your calculations. 5. What funds the external reserves or all revenues must be spent on recurrent expenditure? Our revenue economics is not as simple as you lot think. Now that political campaigns are over, its time to educate Nigerians that our revenues are not limitless and some campaign points are not achievable albeit sustainable. Assuming, Buhari miracously finds some fraction of the funds required for the welfare programs, how do you identify the poorest of the poor Nigerians deserving of the 5K?, What database is available to identify the welfare recipients? We even struggle to identify bonafide Nigerians much more low income earners. Every effort to defend economic impossibilties reveals the shallowness of the incoming government. |
Interesting days ahead.... and we look forward to it. I hope social media won't be tampered with under Buhari cos we will be strongly needing it. |
Sometimes I ask what Buhari intends to do differently. Even in the proposed fight against corruption, all we hear are jails, prosecution and punitive measures which cannot eliminate corruption in itself. So much noise, hype and propaganda. Without strengthening our institutions and putting in systems to check sharp practices like GEJ was doing ..... corruption will continue unabated across board It might take some time for the average Nigerian to discern but very sensible minds understand already that we lost GEJ ....... he didn't lose. |
Wike is one thing Amaechi can never be. |
What is wrong with black race? Native SAs vs foreign blacks Native Lagosians vs other Nigerians Igbo vs Yoruba Middle belt vs Fulani Ijaw vs Itsekiri Its never against the white race but against themselves. What is wrong with the black man? |
For whatever kasumu is convicted of, Tinubu is guilty of double. But tinubu is free today because he has sold his soul to the US to the neo-colonalism of Nigeria and their plans are eventually materializing. If the US is interested iin the growth of Nigeria, they can help repatriate the funds looted and lodged in their economy by the criminal politicians........ But that will never happen. Nigerians have been sold to the west at no cost but we are too blind to see. |
Hard times ahead!!!! |
If there is anything am sure of....... at least am certain APC cannot rule Rivers state under a United Nigeria. |
wakacome:So which of your Wikipedia excerpts define her? Was she elected? Or appointed? Selected by who? Or employed by who? Mr wakacome....... you must answer or you waka go alone |
Lol Change they asked for, change they got. Only time shall tell what they bargained for. |
If APC continues with this propaganda .... May 29th might never come. They could inspire mischief makers into anarchy that makes a mess of their victory. They've won...... they should wait to get sworn in first. A word is enough for the wise. |
Now the true test of governance begins...... its beyond paitin kwaraption. It includes managing the hydra headed structure of currently structured Nigeria. The strikes will come and it would be nice to see how our ex general president would democratically influence the unending grievances of these groups. Would he be patient enough or would attempt to shut the groups up?.... time shall tell. |
I pity Nigerians Now that APC won, they are still not giving up on propaganda. Nigerians will be living a lie come May 29th. The propaganda on the masses will be so thick that they will have no clue what's going on. Change they asked for, change they got. Time will tell what manner of change it is.... but the indices are obvious already. |
Danrizzle:His deputy will be sworn in and life goes on |
APC is an abomination in Rivers State |
What truly is America's interest in Nigeria? Obama's game plan has been obvious. He started off by trying to impose gay law knowing we would not accept such as it's averse to all our customs He funded bokoharam through his arabian counterparts who also provided campaign funds for Buhari He refused sale of arms to Nigeria at the peak of terror attacks and made sure their allies did same He sent in axelrod to help package a renowned sharia crusader as a change agent despite Buhari's open condemnation of Army's attack on boko haram He drummed up tension for post election violence and stationed warships in ghana They have called for cancellation of election results for rigging in the south while turning a blind eye to underage voting in the north. Now they've started predicting extended terrorist activities in Nigeria. Now one may ask to what end? What is the interest one may ask? Have Obama suddenly developed love for Nigeria? NO.... the prediction of disintegration of Nigeria must come to pass and that is their target. The creeks will flame up soon and they will provide Buhari with arms to attack because he is one man they trust to employ force Then....Nigeria shall implode and the disintegration will be the only option. Our individual divided units will be highly dependent on foreign support. And then.....they would have succeeded in halting the black nation with the greatest potential to challenge the white developed nations. Its already too late to react. |
Amaechi is strongly loathed in PH. He remains an enemy of the state till death. |
He should shut up. We know how they manipulated GEJ out of office. The evil and false propaganda of the APC in the media Tacit support for bokoharam making GEJ govt ungovernable Arranging chibok girls kidnap, Underage voters, Corroboration with INEC aimed at over 85% distribution of PVCs in war torn north while their southern counterparts had less than 50% distribution While all the card readers in the south were malfunctioning, the North was accrediting easy Joint but massive yet unannounced rigging for Buhari in the north All the looters in Nigeria's with their western counterparts colluded to exit GEJ For once, the golden geese are in the opposition. Time to truly define Nigeria. |
APC is only making noise in rivers state, they don't stand 15% chance and they know it. |
Amaechi is not going down without a fight. He must raze Rivers State before leaving. |
Mission accomplished. They should be allowed to go home if they truly exist. |
Ok |
Sirniyeh:If this is true then Nigeria is heading back to abyss |
belabela:Delta and Akwaibom are entitled to same and they should be embracing same soon. This is the first time the oil and gas regions are in the opposition and expect them to milk every available opportunity, policy and loophole in the system. What do you know about the community development templates in the terms of NCDMB? You think it ends at with employing welders, fitters and scaffolders. Now we shall know what it truly means to have the golden geese in the opposition. If the state governments wants the multinational down in the operating area, its one of the simplest lobbies cum intimidation to be executed by any desperate opposition govt. You think if Tinubu was from SS and had rivers state in the bag like he has Lagos.... that these companies will be operating from lagos? NEVER!!! |
