Guardiola needs extra ordinary midfielders almost same level with the two Spanish maestro Xavi and Iniesta and the Wizard Messi in his team inorder to win the Champions League. The last time he won that trophy was in Barcelona, he went to Bayern Munich but couldn't reach the final not to talk of lifting trophy.

Since no Xavi, no Iniesta, no Messi, Guardiola should just dash his ambition, those players made him seem like a god, now they have retired he is still chasing his endless dream.
If only he had at least one of the aforementioned players like Messi in his team, he would have lifted his second Champions League with the Citizens of Hell after Barcelona. But now he doesn't want to give up, De bruyne, Gundogan alone are just below average compared to Messi, not to mention Xavi or Iniesta.
