OgechiBae: Good day Family,
I travelled to Ghana this year via Seme border and hence all those countries in between stamped on my passport. Do I have to state them as part of my travel history? I didn't visit them (Togo and Benin Republic). I only passed through them inside GOU motors bus No need. The immigration stamps would indicate entry on one land border and exit at the other end on same day. |

ekanDamie: Pls I am a newbie and need your advice here. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp 1. Is this the correct CRS too for calculating point? Yes 2.in the pucs below which category does an HND graduate fall? No idea. But you'll evaluate both ND & HND. 3. With a score of 440 with no spouse is EE still possible or one should just go through PNP. EE is possible. Pray the draw cutoff point holds steady. 4. There is a part in the CRS calculator that asks for No of canadian work experience Can I put my Nigerian Experience since I don't have canny? Since when has Naija experience = Canny experience?. Fill your Nigerian experience in the appropriate section provided for that at 6ii. Pls I would appreciate any down to earth response from anyone I know the question is beneath your league. Biko Down to earth response in bold . Best wishes. |

Babyface6: Hello all, Thanks for all the information. I'm an active silent reader and would like to ask a question regarding PCC.
I spent 4 months in the U.S.(sept 2013- Jan 2014) and 3months again in 2017. I have tried to get the US PCC twice but ... I have spent a lot and I'm wondering if I actually need their PCC since it states that "...provide a PCC for countries in which individuals has traveled for 6months or more in a row with the last 10 years" ... You don't need PCC for US. You have to stay in US for 6 consecutive months. |

What is a good salary in Canada?
If you can make $18/hour as a single person working full time, that’s a good salary. If you can earn an average of $60,000/year or $5000/month you will live a solid middle class lifestyle. If you have kids and a wife you’ll both need to earn $60,000/year each to have a solid middle class life. 2 adults earning $60,000/year provides a monthly after tax income of approximately $7852, and that will be it..you’ll make too much money to qualify for any family allowance.
What’s a middle class life? a comfortable 1200/sqft home built in the 80’s mid market type home. 2 certified used vehicles (A dodge caravan 2 years old with 30,000kms for example). You can expect to go on a nice all inclusive vacation once a year, have comfortable money to spend…you can save for retirement and all the nice things the world thinks living in Canada entails.
If you’re a family making a combined total of $60,000 gross annual ($30,000 per adult) or less you won’t likely be able to afford a home in the city but very likely in a smaller town (1500 people or less). You can still find homes in the $50,000 range in these small towns but the trade off is you won’t likely find much in the way of good paying jobs. You won’t be driving NEW vehicles but likely used vehicles 4 years old or older with over 80,000kms. You won’t have money for carribean vacations but you’ll likely be able to get away to camp or something for a week in the summer. Your life won’t be comfortable and there will be times that you have trouble meeting your monthly payments. Your monthly family income after taxes will approximately $3926/month and you could expect about $600/month in family allowance from the government if you have 2 kids.
If you earn a combined family income of more than $180,000 ($90,000 a year per adult) you will have a nice comfortable life provided you don’t over extend. You can afford a nice cabin at the lake, a large new home ($500,000 range), 2 new vehicles of almost any type (Denali, SUV, etc) and you won’t need to worry too much about watching your pennies although you should. Your combined after tax income at this rate is $10,100/month and that will be all, you make too much for any government programs.
If you don’t have a university education and if you don’t have a trade it is very unlikely that you will ever earn $60,000/year. Half of Canadians earn less than $35,000/year.
Do Not believe the statistics that the average Canadian earns $51,000/year. A very large majority of people make WELL below $51,000/year. I live in a city of 51,000 and the average wage is between $12.00 and $15.00/hour. Something to think about…If the average Canadian makes $51,000 why is there so much push back against a minimum wage of $15/hour? According to the statistics every Canadian already makes $24.50/hour ($51,000/year) so a minimum wage of $15/hour should almost seem like an arbitrary number. The reason of course if because MOST Canadians make less than $15/hour and make MUCH less than $51,000 year.

TEECANN: I WOKE UP TO THE GOLDEN MAIL TODAY (20th NOVEMBER, 2018)!!! GOD BE PRAISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSED!!!!
THINGS TO NOTE FROM OUR GCMS NOTE:
1. POF: I submitted GTbank letter in CIC format capturing my current and savings accounts balances and the fixed deposit that I have with the bank. I also submitted the Fixed Deposit Investment letter from GTbank and letter from Stanbic IBTC pensions with my Pensions Statement of Account with a LOE stating that I have 25% available to me 4 months post resignation. Case Officer noted all that I submitted including the 25% of pensions balance and converted naira to CAD and recommended POF criterion MET. NOTE: 25% of my pension total sum was about about 60% of our POF, it was not a POF buffer in our case, it was a large chunk of our POF and it was passed.
All that end well is that that end in praise! Another confirmation of pension fund for PoF. |

wasseynewest: Forecast!! Judging from my li2 research now. I observed the two draws in Dec. since 2015 have come on Dec.20th , Dec22nd & Dec.18th. Now to my point, there might not be much influx into the pool from IELTS takers as the only result that will be released during this period will be from the recently concluded Nov.10th exam, which is the only likely result that will meet the 2nd draw in this Nov., going by the fact that draws are held at 2wks intervals(maxing next draw to be 28th). This way, we should have limited Pre-ITA enrollee in the pool, most especially as all our .
Thanks all! Not exactly bro. 1. IELTS is not taken by Nigerians only. BC alone has over 40 centres in India with 24 academic modules per year. 2. There's computer-based IELTS with faster results in some countries. Otherwise, nice forecast. |

laghopeful20181: Good morning people,
I am post ITA (5 days left to submit before my deadline). I was uploading supporting documents and cross checking them when I realised my husband's IELTS expired on the 3rd of November (I am the principal applicant). Without his IELTS our score drops to 438
My questions are: A. Is there any other option I have not already considered?
I'm so upset at myself for not paying attention to the IELTS expiry date...this is a lesson to all. As I understand it, unfortunately only age is frozen upon receipt of ITA..IELTS result is not frozen. Please don't be upset. It will surely end well for you and all yours. I think you should go ahead and submit before your ITA expires. I suppose your ITA predates Nov 3 (expiry date of your hubby's IELTS) and perhaps is locked in. The stress and wait time to bring him to Canada later on has been described as "frustrating" if you to drop him. I do remember someone shared his/her PPR testimony toward the end of part 5. This individual even submitted Academic IELTS results and got an ADR to resubmit the General test result. Took about 3 months or so before he could fulfill that requirement. In the meantime, get him registered for another IELTS asap. Best wishes. |

Please advise me so that i wont waste time. Also, can i upload notification of result for WES instead of certificate. WES is not the same as ECA! WES is overrated (given the experience of many including myself) Try other evaluating organizations for your ECA and save yourself the nightmare of WES. Only WES if other approved evaluating bodies won't do your credentials. Only WES if you like troubles, disappointment and scapegoating. |
