I had the same issue, mailed ICES and their response was that "RECEIVED" means that my application has been processed into their database. Meanwhile my school is yet to send my transcript tomorrow.
Possible outlier situation.

Your dashboard should read "Submitted" after uploading your certificate and payment made.
It should change to "Received" only when ICES received your official transcript. Usually it takes about 2-3 weeks after your institution had sent the document.
I hope your transcript bears your Reference Number?

Hi guys! Please I need some advice I am hoping to apply for EE soon. I am single with a child. I am done writing IELTS and my ECA is in progress. Congratulations Now, the father of my child is a divorcee (not finalized yet) and we are planning to get married when it is finalized. The divorce is not finalized yet and we are hoping it is done before I get my ECA. The process is taking longer than I expected, Now I am thinking of applying as a single mother then maybe add him later (when we are married) after AOR or post ITA (Acceptable) or should I just wait till his divorce is finalized and then marry and apply as married from the beginning of the application (Not necessary)? Also, would he need to show proof that he is divorced YES, he must answer will questions truthfully or that’s in the past and doesn’t concern the EE application? P.S I would be the PA. Thanks!

Good day, thank you for the information on ICES ECA processing. However, I need a little clarification on this. I read on ICES website that some countries have specific requirement in which WAEC/NECO/GCE were mentioned for Nigeria. Please confirm if this does is not compulsory for a post secondary certificate holder.

Thank you in anticipation
Thank you
From experience and vast testimonies on the thread, it's not required. Except you want to specifically evaluate the WAEC/NECO as credentials.

ECA by ICES Made Simple - Step by Step Guide to evaluating your credential

1. Create an account on their portal https://icesonline.bcit.ca/ices/ and obtain your ICES BCIT Client Number.
2. Have copies of your documents in PDF format (maximum file size 5 MB)
3. These files include
a. Colour scan of valid identification (Driver Licence, International Passport)
b. Colour scan of transcripts (if available)
c. Colour scan of certificates, degrees, or diplomas

4. Choose “Regular (Standard) Evaluation Service”
5. Complete the “Add your Credential” form
6. Upload your PDF files to respective placeholders provided
7. Make payment via your Nigerian bank (debit) cards (don’t worry about the warning that you can’t pay with debit cards)
8. The first status on your dashboard after submitting your document and payment is SUBMITTED. It will however change to RECEIVED when your official transcript is acknowledged as received (either via postal mail or email). Finally, it will change to COMPLETE when your ECA is ready (12 weeks estimated processing time from when your status becomes RECEIVED)

Note:
Include your ICES BCIT Client Number as part of your personal details for your transcript
ICES do not require O’level (WAEC or NECO) certificate to evaluate your post-secondary credentials
Convert your JPG file to PDF using https://jpg2pdf.com/ or https://smallpdf.com/jpg-to-pdf

Best wishes.

E don do. You’re the same person who wrote TEF when you already had CRS score of 470+. Did you even use the CRS calculator before writing TEF? After writing TEF, you came here saying you were afraid of your score of 485. Lol. How much have you read up on this process? I have filled my Profile after ITA, as confusing as it was, i learnt everything I needed (including Nysc questions) from using keywords in the search bar. Take it easy, please read and read and read again. All the documents you need will show up in a checklist after you have completed your profile post ITA. You can even always go back to edit this profile before final submission.
You're the best.
Nothing wins more than superior preparation.

NYS(C) is considered as an employment for EE. No ambiguity about that. You're not a student during the 1-year service. You earn an income (hallmark of job /employment) for your time, skills and sweat.
There are even countries in Europe that pay stipends (wages) to doctorate degree students during their studies and is considered as employment for immigration purposes.

Hi everyone,

Please I need anyone that can assist to help me clear this answer.
I have a cousin in Manitoba who wants to act as my sponsor/family member so I can get nominated for the PNP
but the problem is that he just got his permanent residence 3 months ago but has lived in Manitoba for over 4 years.
Is he still qualified to sponsor me?
Very unlikely.
He only can after 12 months of permanent residency.

Lol.

Maybe they can teach IT, but can they get a LMIA-exempt job for her? I doubt it. Even the big name immigration consultants based in Canada don't promise that.

I did a quick browse. The founder talked about training IT job for Canada then tried to obfuscate on getting the PR visa. So I sure it is just a marketing ploy to get people to sign on.

See here: https://posteritymediang.com/interview-nigerians-can-use-ict-skills-to-get-good-jobs-and-live-in-canada-fatiregun-ict-trainer/#

Canada PR is a big deal in Nigeria now and the sharp ones are going to make money off people's interest and desperation.
Psychology of why people fall for scams

Appeals to trust and authority: people tend to obey authorities so scammers use, and victims fall for, cues that make the offer look like a legitimate one being made by a reliable official institution or established reputable business.

Visceral triggers: scammers exploit basic human desires and needs, such as greed, fear, avoidance of physical pain, or the desire to beat a system, in order to provoke intuitive reactions and reduce the motivation of people to process the content of the scam message deeply.

Scarcity cues: scams are often personalised to create the impression that the offer is unique to the recipient.

Induction of behavioural commitment: scammers ask their potential victims to make small steps of compliance to draw them in, and thereby cause victims to feel committed to continue sending money.

Scam victims are led to focus on the alleged big prize or reward in comparison to the relatively small amount of money they have to send in order to obtain their windfall.

Dear,
This journey you're about to start is long and more importantly it's a DIY project. I really can do it for you but what if I decide to misrepresent your details and get you fabulous CRS points? Be on your own best friend, carefully input your details into the CRS calculator below and give us your score afterward.
Mind you, if your work experience is in Nigeria, kindly choose NA for Canadian work experience.

Super delighted the EOR was successful.
Congratulations in advance for your ITA.

nomad26:
My people, I am so happy right now that you would think I won the lottery lol My EOR results (from BC) came back successful! Writing was upgraded from 6.5 to 7 and speaking from 7.5 to 8.5. In fact, I didn't want to remark speaking, it was COPR that suggested that I do it just to increase the chances of getting my money back. Thanks man!

So my people, if you're looking for 0.5 or 1 point upgrade, EOR is worth a shot, go for it! Mine took 2.5 weeks in total. Thanks to COPR, fmsimple and everyone for your encouragement, God bless you guys plenty smiley

The icing on this new year 'cake' was that my ECA also FINALLY arrived this morning from ICES, after 4 long months of frustration.
CRS now standing at 459, I am off to the pool o, next stop ITA! cheesy

Good day everyone,

I am new on this thread. I have some few questions. I have a bachelors degree from Nigeria which has already been evaluated by Wes and i have Masters from the US.

My question is , do i need to evaluate my US Masters

Also my Wes evaluation is on Wes.org, is it a must i evaluated from Wes Canada.

Kindly assist with these questions.
Thanks.
1. MSc gives more CRS points than BSc. So evaluate your MSc.
2. WES Canada is appropriate.

While processing my ECA, I found out that WES sends verification requests even for College of Medicine Idiaraba to Unilag Akoka, they then sort it and move to Idiaraba. Mine took about three weeks from when it was sent by WES for it to get to Idiaraba.
1. LUTH is different from CMUL Idi-Araba.
2. There's no Health Record program in CMUL.
3. The Health Record program is domiciled in LUTH (similar to the School of Nursing).

Hi - What if I did the Diploma programme but did not use it to gain admission into UNILAG?
I have a 4-year BSc degree from another school.
Does this count towards having 2 degrees/certificates?
Will WES evaluate the UNILAG Diploma as a standalone entity?
Kindly assist.

Cheers.
I do not think so.
The UNILAG diploma is actually equivalent to an 'A level' certificate (pre-tertiary) and below ND / NCE that are post-secondary (tertiary) qualifications.
Best wishes.

Hello,

Please I just found out that my hubby has not collected his MSc certificate and I already stated that he has one when I was filling in our forms, I don't know how long it would take for him to get the result from his school (we didn't need his ECA because my points were sufficient for ITA).
My question is, since his result doesn't affect our score, can I move it to his personal history? Has anyone done this before? Or do I just wait... I'm about to upload my documents.
I think you can move it there if there's no effect on CRS points. Just like you'll do for his work experience in Nigeria (no CRS points).
