Hello everyone,
My wife is having issues with the evaluation of her degree certificate. She graduated from the University of Ibadan (distance learning) . The verification is being done by WES.
Her status reads "awaiting verification by your institution" for both transcript and the degree certificate. Meanwhile, the school claims to have sent emails to WES confirming the authenticity of the documents. I have called WES on her behalf and they haven't updated her status till now.
Any advice from anyone would be appreciated.

Try and use courier service to deliver the verification to WES.

So. If u apply and get ppr and ur course doesn't finish till 4 months after you soft land, chances are you will. Loose your ppr.

All that is needed is soft landing. You are eligible to enter Canada even if your 5-year PR has a month left to expire. Your 2 year cumulative residency requirement for the PR renewal (or 3 years for Citizenship) will take effect going forward.
The caveat is that you will not be able to re-enter Canada as a PR if you leave without renewing your PR!

Degree from my report evaluation, cos it's taking too much time for my transcript to get to them. WES has accepted my Masters Degree since 6 months ago. I spoke with WES customer service agent as regard removing my BSc certificate from my evaluation, and he said I should do them a mail....Gurus in the house, Hope there won't be any problem if I get into the pool with just my Masters Degree certificate. Penny wise, pound foolish, my Uni sent my transcript via e-mail cos I begged dem o even when I wasn't sure of the email add (paid 10k). Now WES did not receive the stuff and I have to use courier cos I haven't seen anybody here that knows the right email. Now, I will pay for another transcript (though won't wait for any processing time) and still pay for dhl (I'm paying 16k total on compassionate grounds).


Please learn from my experience (and the man that even had his IELTS expired)- don't take the route you can't guarantee even if it's cheaper. I wasted about 7k and still delayed my evaluation for almost 3 weeks. Tototototo

PS: The hellofax works amazingly, it saved me money for sending the certs.

We are all learning. Now you have one under your belt, WES dont accept transcripts by email

Principal applicant age 36 with IELTS results LRWS 8.5 7.5 6.5 7 and spouse close to 40yrs with IELTS results LRWS 6757. Do we have any chance at all? Depends on other factors like PAs educational qualification and work experience

No.
Profile is not the same as EE application. Application is only due after you received an ITA.

I know people are gonna try to be diplomatic with you and be like, you can still get it, and stuff like 'try and get a job offer, or do a program in Canada, or go through the Provincial Nomination route, or learn French', all of which are very difficult and may not be worth the stress, especially as you are already in a developed country. Bro I'm gonna be sincere with you, your chances are little to none if you are to the be the primary applicant. The program is getting more and more competitive by the day even for those in their twenties. In 2019 I don't see the CRS cut-off getting less than 445 readily.

Korea ain't a bad place. At least you are better than many stuck in Nigeria who desperately want to leave.

We're claiming my points for my spouse's relative in Canada and have to upload both their birth certificates.

At the point of scanning, we found that my spouse's birth cert does not have the stamp of the body that issued it though it was signed. We discovered this because his brother's identical birth cert which was sent to us has the stamp.

Is it ok to upload it without the stamp or do we now have to do attestation of birth?

Yes. I think it doesn't really invalidate the relationship. Except they are twin brothers that ought to have gotten the BC same day and signature.
If the gentleman in Canada is married, the MC (supposing it has their Dad's name on it) could be added to strengthen the evidence.

No please.
Her Canadian education and work experience compensated for the IELTS score. A typical Nigerian without those unique "levers" of your dear wife will arguably be below 440.

Because overall band is useless if you fall below 8777 LSWR respectively.

UNILAG Senate usually approves results about 2-3 months after the exam is over. Then, your SoR and Transcripts are available for collection.

That is why people's stories are linked on page 1. Go and start reading the PPR stories from part 1 till date and you'll see all those who got married after AOR. You'll even find the one who got married after receiving his COPR (but not landed yet).
After reading their stories and you still have doubts, you can PM each one and ask for pics of the spouses' COPR or PR card.
Even better, why not write to IRCC and ask this question? Hear from the horse's mouth whether the spouse gets PR visa or visit Visa?

Now I'm scared. I did my NYSC in a university. My HOD is the one writing my reference letter and he would be using the university's letter head. This your post scares me right now.

And no, I wasn't trying to act smart. I was only trying to follow the CIC format as seen on their website and so I put ensured I included the instructions in the email I sent to him plus the links to CIC website.

I am not sure if the letterhead will state the department cos it is like a college/faculty on his own. It is where they run their foundation program for pre-degree students.

So my question is this, if it is like that, does that mean there will be nothing to be afraid of? Since he is the head.

The HOD is the not the most appropriate official to write in the University. As a corper, someone accepted your NYSC posting to institution and I bet its not the HOD. Usually, the Registrar does or one of his lieutenants and should give the ref.

Quite a good analysis here while it further shows we still have some people with intimidating CRS in dt pool(smiles). Though, I think it's a slim miss for those on 443/444. Either ways, one can only PRAY because the number of people entering d pool daily cannot be quantified. We hope & await next wks draw.
