SundayphilipNic: Thank you all for your respective useful contribution on this forum. I'm new here
Please I need your advice on this: I'm a Nigerian. I have my Bsc in engineering. I have 3 years of work experience in construction and fabrication industry but have been laid off for one year and six months now as my job position became redundant . I have been doing Plumbing work since after my secondary school education and even now that I don't have a job.
So I want to migrate to Canada through express entry as a plumber. My question is thus: how do I convince Canadian embassy that I'm a professional Plumber where as I don't have any certification or license to back it up as there is no really government agency that regulate artisans in Nigeria to issue license if one meet certain requirements. please my good people advice me on how to go about this.
Thank you in anticipation for your prompt response Happy Sunday. You may be qualified for FSW (as an Engineer) or convince Canadian embassy that you're a professional Plumber if you visit https://www.nairaland.com/4843199/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled |

clock89: Just thinking, does CIC really need to know each time you move your funds around? I thought the requirement is that you have the funds readily available when you submit your application and have them until you land in Canada.
If they need to verify your funds at anytime they would issue an ADR. Where the funds are won’t matter as long as you have it readily available to you. My thoughts My sentiments. |

Items that can be used as proof of a common-law relationship as stated on CIC website include: - shared ownership of residential property, - joint leases or rental agreements, - bills for shared utility accounts, such as: gas, electricity, telephone, joint utility accounts - important documents for both of you showing the same address, such as: driver’s licenses, insurance policies, identification documents. More importantly, social media posts and email archives is a good source of evidence to demonstrate both cohabitation and the existence of a conjugal relationship. These shared online experiences demonstrates that the relationship is public. |

SkyWalk12: Mehn that was more harrowing than my interview. They stopped me at immigration, asked how I was going to survive on the small money in my bank account and I was like I’ll do my friends hair for money. Who knew that was illegal? LOL. Anyway, they put me in detention room, mat on the floor, no communication devices, I couldn’t even flush my own toilet, had to bang on the door for many minutes for the guard to flush it from outside. 12 hours later they put me on a plane back to Lagos Oh my God. I'm speechless! Harmless comment became a nightmare. |

Please don't get me wrong, I meant not harm but rather wish for the thread to remain a worthy source of genuine information and library for Express Entry.
Long live the thread! |

I had earlier evaluated by Bsc with IQAS but my scores are not good enough so I want to evaluate my diploma now. The question is must I evaluate the 2nd diploma with IQAS or I can evaluate it say ICES and merge the two assessment to qualify for two or more certificates? Comments and opinions would be appreciated. Thank you Better to have both ECAs with the same organisation. |

NameUserNo: I am tired! It seems the only option is to give up right now. Firstly, i started by applying to Canadian schools but I was frustrated and never got admission from the four schools I applied to.
Then, I was advised on the canadian student visa thread to focus on express entry since I have the educational requirements and minimum work experience and I took that advise. I have written IELTS general six times in the last nine months and I am stuck at writing 6.5.
The only time I got a 7 in writing, i got a 7.5 in listening, which happens to be my only listening score less than 8. I have spent my salary and savings registering for ielts and ielts lectures since I began this process and yet no head way.
I have even completed WES evaluation because I was hopeful this will work out.
The last ielts I wrote November 10th, i was quite hopeful but came out the same way. Now I can't even register even if i want to.
I put so much efforts, sacrificed my welfare and I really don't know if i can push on anymore.
It seems this doesn't work for everybody. Best of luck to everyone on this thread. It shall end in praise for you all. You cant quit yet. No no no, you can't quit yet. Please stay strong, though the journey can be tough but I am double sure you will make it if you fail to quit. The stumbling block of IELTS will give way soon. There are many folks here that attempted and passed IELTS at 5th, 6th, 7th and even 11th time. And I am confident you can get support here to overcome your inadequacies in the IELTS and come out in flying colours. Stay positive, it will end praise. |

prost80: Hello All,
Congrats to all the IELTS grabbers and hopefully more ITA clinchers
I need an advice
1. Post-ITA, For those filling the application for employment, if there is a place i spent like one month employment before i moved to another place, if i have filled it in before and saved it, but tried getting reference and they do not give. Should I just edit it as unemployed? As long as it is not transmitted is it ok, I was reading of time-stamping application or so, I am confused
2) For POF, does it matter regarding the Gift Deed, if it was dated before or after the amount was transferred to one's account. In other words, should the Gift Deed be dated before or after the money was transferred to ones account or there is no difference Thinking loud, you may not get a reference for barely working for 1.5 months. If I were you, I'll show it and do a LoE that I'm unable to get a Ref. due to the brevity of the employment. Date should be after the transaction has been consummated, not before. Best wishes. |

In my humble opinion, I will advise he wait till his biometrics get updated and also read previous post/inquiries on this same issue as it has been attended to severally on here. My bad. Thanks for pointing that out. I have had my previous comment edited. |

The officer I spoke to is insisting it has to be in January The immigration system automatically won't accept your renewal application earlier than 6-month before expiry date. It's by default. |
