I will be highly happy if my kids could get the highest score in Igbo language, both written and oral. We tend to under estimate the importance of mastering one's own local language. Kudos to her. She looks brilliant and academic-inclined |
They will only be talking to Nigerians that would attend. No British would have their time, except to listen to their usual jagoons and how to compel them to make contributions to the University. UK universities are good at soliciting for financial support from corrupt third world country citizens and their leaders. The opportunity to speak is not free. You must drop. |
The more you look, the less you see. Utomi na BAT boy o. Don't take anything serious with these politicians. These may all be script. ![]() |
If you can Behind up that your toyota corolla, please keep using it. I have come to understood that Toyota is one of the best cars for a moderate life-style. I currently have two corollas - one of 2013 and 2023. No issue since I started using them. Prior to getting the 2013 corolla, I used the bank type of 2006. An airport taxi that I know pleaded and begged me to sell it to him at a very competitive price. He said he has been searching for the Toyota corolla, bank type, but unable to get it. I sold it as I did not want to keep two cars then because I was still single. A well-maintained Toyota corolla will always represent and save you car stress. Consider also the simplicity the car offers - If you are a minimalist and easy going fellow, keep your corolla and love-vendor it well. |
Soludo still have serious issues with Obi ![]() He has not forgotten what APGA did to him under Peter Obi, as the governor. They collected his money and gave the APGA ticket to Obiano. It was a painful experience for Soludo. Obiano fell out with Obi and reasoned that it would be nice to compensate Soludo for the ill treatment metted out to him. On that note, he promised Soludo the APGA ticket and handed over to him. Obiano knew that Soludo would definitely deal with Obi and Protect his own (Obiano) interests. Soludo has been doing exactly that. |
Few weeks from now, you won't see light on that tower. No be Nigeria again In Nigeria, a politician would commission Water fountain roundabout today and water will stop coming after weeks of commissioning. We keep underestimating the importance of stable power. No matter what you build, if you don't have stable power to power it, it would go comatose after sometime. |
McLizbae:I said anything from 2018 Toyota corolla upwards is still a standard car and can serve you well. Toyota corolla is always the preferred choice for upwardly mobile professionals. Ensure you Behind it up every five years, it would always maintain its professional appeal. |
If you want, dey look status - no go buy Corolla and have peace of mind - anything from 2018 is still standard and low on maintenance. |
I fear all these Abokis with dyed curly hairs. Once they are in group, they could be dangerous. Once you see them, especially in Lagos at odd hours, just shine your eyes. They attacked me in 2006 when I was returning from work around 11pm at night, immediately my colleague dropped me. They were on a bike and saw as I was been dropped off. Immediately my colleague drove off, they reversed towards my direction. |
BondRiv:Leave matter, biko!!! So, in your mind, Jailing some peasants is what would bring the so called change? There are offenses that are considered minor with minimal impacts to the society. These women are POS operators and there are chances that they could easily obtain newly minted currencies from the bank and trade them to some willing buyers, who may want to use them in an occasion. I considered whatever crime they may have committed in this regard as minor. Minimal fine would have been better....not sending someone to one year behind bars. The psychological trauma would be too much. |
This is too harsh!!! They didn't steal the money. They merely sold their newly minted cash to willing buyers for a small margin. EFCC should focus more on the main thieves. The women were just doing their normal hustle. Imagine forfeiting a whopping N3.8m to FG at this time. Some POS operators are the ones sustaining their families. Nigerian courts should have human face when dispensing judgment to the poor. |
Whether you like it or not, it seems that Obi lack some elements of leadership and people's management skills. I doubt if he would aspire for the presidency in 2027. This is why APC is focusing on PDP, to decimate PDP and Atiku. PDP and Atiku are considered more formidable opponent than Obi. Mr.Obi has lost both steam and momentum and trying to rally Nigerians to his side in 2027 would be extremely difficult. |
See quality jerseys and how the jerseys fitted the players. I love their jerseys |
The fact that I haven't visited Paris is still a mystery to me ![]() |
He can ask the conclave to elect him as pope ![]() The atire looks good on him. |
chatinent:Majority don't even come back with any accent. They still come back with their heavy Ibadan, Anambra or Delta accents. ![]() |
Rich parents would still pay for their kids without bathing an eyelids. Go to top secondary schools in Nigeria and see how the UK universities are "cashing " out from some "ignorant" rich parents during school's career days and "study abroad " events. These universities will sell non existent "opportunities" to parents and tell them of numerous opportunities that abound after their wards must have finished their studies in their universities. With the hopelessness some parents have about the future prosperity of Nigeria, most would key into the promises made by the foreign universities and pay the hefty sums. At the end, the child would start struggling to land the lowest of the jobs in UK. Those unfortunate to get anything would return home to come back to their parents, waiting for their parents to use connections to place them into any juicy government agencies or private sector. |
The kind of news I hear in this country ehh?? Is NSA and police aware of this new? See how the victim narrated the encounter as if it was nothing ![]() Police should go after the guy to get more information about their group and other groups of terrorists. Anyway, our security system and intelligence seems to be in parallel lines. |
There is no way Ibori will not defect to APC. All his political children are there, making grounds for him to enter. He may be the one that orchestrated the whole defections, considering his closeness to Tinubu |
Let me comment because of your dad. Give it to fathers. A father can do anything to see his son succeed. Your father would be happier staying in his house at old age, being able to walk around his compound without anyone disturbing him. Being in your own house at old age is quite soothing and reassuring, even if you don't have much at that time. As people have advised you, UK is no more "profitable " as a japa destination. Lots of nigerians that have graduated have returned back to Nigeria empty because of inability to secure a job that could keep them back in the country. Are you going there to study one of those business or arts course that cannot guarantee any meaningful job? Are you a first class student that has the potential to compete for the highly competitive graduate entry positions? If you are just an average student who believes in ordinary hustle power to succeed in the UK, then think twice. Your father's pain would be minimal if he is living in his house at old age, while you may be struggling to make it in life. At least, he still has his house to cherish and bequeath to you when he passes on. The pain would be worse if had sold his house and you have nothing to show later after your studies. Please, explore alternative funding for your japa or better still, keep hopes alive in Nigeria and continue hustling. If you are a first class or second class upper graduate, keep applying to companies in Nigeria, especially in their graduate recruitment exercises. The fact that you are not comfortable with your father selling off his properties is a good one. |

He is in the good books of the APC establishment in Lagos state. So, no shaking ![]() E-money, Obi Cubana and Yul enjoys goodwill from APC establishment in Lagos because of their subtle support. |
It seems that some people are still bent on stopping BAT in 2027 ![]() |
See what a former senator is saying Just imagine ![]() So, they go into the national assembly with the hope of making money ![]() |
Our hospitals ? ![]() Is it that our government cannot afford to fund a decent health centers? Any sight of some public hospitals disgusts me. See how the place looks like abandoned heath center. |
I wonder the kind of mind people get to buy open and cut out things from Abokis. You will see people buying cut out watermelon, pineapple and other fruits. I buy things from Abokis but not something that has been cut open. I buy and go to my house and peel them after washing in steam water. I do not buy suya again from Aboki. Just ask yourself where the Aboki takes his meat to after each days work? He goes to an uncompleted building and under bridge, where rats and other rodents would feast on them. In the night, he set up his suya fire and starts roasting again!!. I buy suya from the Abokis in the hotel, eatery or joints not those on the street corners |
The name, "moremonee" doesn't sound digital. Name matters in everything. You don't give a child a name that sound awkward within his or her environment or his tribe. Fintech is a "tribe" and names of firms in the industry are formed to indicate that. |
That location is a prime area within the Ikeja GRA. There is no way the developer would not have obtained the full necessary permit, including CofO to put up that edifice. He must have paid all the necessary fees and approvals. The only exception is building what was not approved. If I were the lawyers, I would check if what the developer built was consistent with the approved plan. If not, they have grounds to take legal action. The building permit could even be revoked on that basis alone. People in Nigeria are fond of altering building plans and make modifications after obtaining permits. |
They should have done the right thing since they were legally given the child to care for. Why tried to game the system to claim what doesn't belong to you? I feel for them. Pray for those all TTC. It is never an easy journey. |
Eniolohunda:The guy go wait tire na. Most Nigerians don't do research before going to UK to study big fancy programs. Some have finished the so called programs that usually start with, "Applied" this and "Appplied" that, without any hope of getting a job in their fields. It's even worse in Canada. There are some that have finished their masters and gone back to do one year PSW or any other support work programs in colleges to land a job. |
Whoever is handling this Vanguard newspaper's blogging section is not doing a detailed research and evidence- based reporting. ![]() If you are Nigerian with intention of studying in UK, Canada and any Western country with intention of seeking Job opportunities, with good chance of success, consider vocational and diploma programmes in health and trades. Licensed or Registered Practical nursing Medical Laboratory Technology Radiography Technology Physician Assistant Social Services Worker program Personal Support Worker Gerontology and Palliative Caregiving Mental Health and Addiction Phlebotomy Technician Blue-collar Trades Courses Hands on IT certification and training |
