SportsRe: Tobi Amusan Calls Out Athletics Federation Over Poor Treatment (Photos/Video) by Focusmind: 11:05am On Sep 13, 2025
Our standards in this country are terribly bad. This isn't about Tinubu or his government. It's about the lackadaisical attitudes of nigerians and their non- challant attitude to standards and acceptable standards of doing things. Sadly, this behaviour has passed down to the future generations, who see such behaviours as normal and acceptable. One of the reasons why our politicians are not taking us serious regarding provision of quality services.

PoliticsRe: Deji Adeyanju Reminds Peter Obi About His Threat To Sue Him by Focusmind: 7:13am On Sep 11, 2025
Peter Obi should extend his "sabbatical " leave from public engagements, for at least 3 months. His absence seemed to have made some people jobless and the social media space, a little bit saner and quiet. It's also good for his own mental health. He should be coming and engaging intermittently. undecided
BusinessRe: See 18 Richest Family-Owned Businesses In Nigeria by Focusmind: 8:36pm On Sep 10, 2025
Importation and government patronage were at the forefront of successes recorded by these family-owned businesses. That's how Nigeria billionaires are made. Made through Sole licensing, government patronage, distributorship and politics

Car TalkRe: Husbands Teaching Wives How To Drive Vs Driving School by Focusmind: 8:06pm On Sep 08, 2025
It was not easy for me - we always quarreled until I got my mechanic to take over. That was when she became pro.
Chei, a good deal of patience is required. I just could not give that as she was also stubborn with taking instruction. Teaching your spouse how to drive is not easy o grin

At least, those appointees have a job title to attach to their names in case of future job or political appointment opportunities. Having the title, Senior Special Assistant to the Member representing Zango ward in Kafanchan local government area will look decent in one's resume undecided

Kobicove:
The lawyer representing Ali Baba during the purchase either did not do a thorough due diligence on the property or decided to ignore the pending case on it undecided
The lawyer was just interested in his service fees - fear property lawyers. undecided

That was how one was pushing me to purchase an encumbered property when I returned from UK to Nigeria in 2011, despite overwhelmingly evidence that the land was under dispute by different blocks of the same family. He insisted that we should go ahead with the purchase and that he knew the overall head of the family. My own wisdom prevailed and I bailed out - the guy that later bought the property, at double the price I would have paid, regretted it and never recovered from the loss of the property to the rightful owner.

Foreign AffairsRe: China’s 80th Victory Day Parade Of The End Of WWII In Pictures by Focusmind: 8:46am On Sep 04, 2025
China that was defeated and occupied by the Japanese during the WWII is celebrating victory? Which victory?

The atomic bomb dropped by US had already weakened Japan and the Japanese surrendered, withdrew their forces from China, Korea, Vietnam, Philippines and other part of South East Asia

It is like France celebrating victory over Nazi Germany, when France was under full occupation of the Nazi Germany from 1941 to 1945

It was not until the allied forces, led by US liberated France in 1945 that the French started fighting again when Germany was already weakened
CrimeRe: Touts Chase Family Of 3 To Death In Abuja (Photos) by Focusmind: 10:03pm On Sep 03, 2025
As a man, once you are with your family on the Nigerian roads, please don't show any stubbornness with those on the streets - the police, agberos or touts. Just hail them, settle and move on. It doesn't worth it exposing your family to danger while arguing with a drunk policeman or touts. I still remember the case of a man, whose son, got killed by a police bullet, as the man tried to evade the police
EducationRe: New Curriculum: JSS, SS Subjects (Full List) by Focusmind: 1:07pm On Sep 03, 2025
Fantastic!!!, especially regarding mathematics and measurements

modern maths is about ratios, percentages, fractions, decimals and measurements

All other topics in mathematics for Junior secondary should be discarded.

For you to study some science courses like nursing and allied health courses in Canada, you would required to present an evidence of good understanding of MTH11, which is basically ratios, fractions, percentages and measurements.

Some topics in mathematics in Junior secondary school needs to be discarded immediately and focus more on topics that have real life applicability like ratios, percentages, conversions, measurements, sharing and monetary calculations
CultureRe: Water Gushed Out Of A 100-Year-Old Sacred Onyina Tree In Ghana by Focusmind: 2:23pm On Sep 02, 2025
Africa and spirituality

We have to take sciences and research seriously in the continent

It is through science that questions and puzzles are answered

My uncle told me a story of what happened in our village in the mid 50s, when one powerful man was being buried.

The whole village was in the square for the burial of the powerful man and all of a sudden, the sky started getting cloudy and darkened in broad day light.

Everywhere was enveloped in total darkness and before you could say anything, everybody abandoned the burial and picked race.

He ran from where the burial ceremony was taken place down to his home, likewise other people.

Within a short time, the sky started opening up again and the whether started being brighter and the day fully returned.

The event that happened that day was a big puzzle throughout the village and everything was linked to a deity and how powerful the deceased was during his life time.

It was not until he entered the prestigious Government College, Umuahia that he understood, in their geography class, that what happened in our village that very day was a mere eclipse of the sun and no deity or "arusi" was involved in the darkness that enveloped the whole place during that burial
PoliticsRe: I Can Bet Tinubu Will Win In 2027 - Wike by Focusmind: 3:07pm On Sep 01, 2025
The dynamics have changed, indeed.

I doubt if Obi would be able to garner the same six million he got in 2023, with APC now in control of the former strongholds of LP and fully "determined" to retain power for BAT. Obi has lost momentum, no doubt

This is what typical Nigerian contractors are known for - pull down existing structure and take years to put a new one.
PoliticsRe: I’ve Been To America; It’s Not Better Than Nigeria – Odumeje by Focusmind: 9:21am On Aug 27, 2025
Well-to-do Nigerians would always take Nigeria first before US. This is a known fact.

If you have the money, Nigeria remains the best - you can practically afford anything you want.

But in the US, most rich Nigerians cannot afford to pay for the things they take for granted in Nigeria.

Above all, most rich Nigerians finds it difficult adapting to the structured life styles in the western world because they are already used to the Nigeria's life styles.
PoliticsRe: North Being Pushed To The Wall – ACF by Focusmind: 6:10am On Aug 27, 2025
I am sure all these statements from the north are as a result of the fall out of the decisions of the major political parties, the APC and PDD, to zone the presidency to the south. The last NEC decisions of the PDP in Ibadan rattled the North. The PDP decision ultimately handed the PDP presidential ticket to BAT.

PoliticsRe: 2027: PDP Shuts Out North by Focusmind: 1:25pm On Aug 26, 2025
Wike on this one undecided

You have to give him the credit - this has been his intention all along - to get PDP to endorse BAT.

Which candidate in the south, under PDP, can challenge BAT? The PDP that had their meeting in Ibadan already knew that BAT would be their candidate in 2027 and they may not present any candidate for the election

I think the outcome of the 2027 election is already sealed - do not just argue or get angry. This is politics

Hedonisco:
Nigeria is a sad place. Imagine divers negotiating to receive N400k before agreeing to retrieve someone's body after an accident.

Tufiakwa. Useless country.
The Divers owe you nothing, neither to the family. Its the failure of government to equip the emergency services to perform their jobs that you should blame. Why are they called Marine police?
SportsRe: Taribo West’s Salary In 1999 Emerges After Criticising FG For Abandoning Rufai by Focusmind:
That rant from Taribo was unnecessary. People are here attacking the government because of their hatred of the government. Taribo was just being stupidly emotional. If Rufai asked for assistance in their WhatsApp group, he should not use it to make mouth. After all, people in my WhatsApp group, especially, Old students association, do request for assistance from members of the group that are better off. Adorning your country's national Jersey is a privilege and not a right, neither is it a favour to your country. The Nigerian State owe you nothing as a sports person after your retirement. As long as you got your reward and pay while in active service to your nation, you have no case against your country if you later went broke in life.
PoliticsRe: Julius Malema Calls For 1 Africa: 1 President, 1 Currency, 1 Parliament, 1 Army by Focusmind: 9:37am On Aug 25, 2025
All these people, once they are in public or invited to a public fora, they would want to say what they think will resonate with the audience. How did he think that the proposal was feasible? How is the control and command structure going to be worked out? Single currency may be considered but not putting all the African States being under one commander -in- chief. The guy is just being mischievous. Even his fellow countrymen in South Africa would disagree with him. He should have focused on the rule of law and justice in the continent than that his unworkable proposal
