This is very painful as a Chelsea fan, nobody can replicate the kind of love Roman Abramovich has for Chelsea.

Right now what Chelsea needs is an Arab ownership which will be a very welcomed development.

If an American or British owner takes over that will be end of Chelsea football club.

Putin has really destroyed alot of things with his actions, I feel so sad for my favourite club which has given sweet lovely memories under the Roman era.
Honestly speaking.

I'm so sad because I've been a Chelsea fan since childhood and Roman's reign brought beautiful memories to me. cry

Wednesday last week I went to Ujevwu Station to meet up the morning train, got there and saw massive crowd (later learnt that new corps members went to camp that day) and I was almost regretting why I didn't go to GIGM and enter Abuja bus. They said they have stopped selling tickets for morning ride, I was about going back when I saw some people entering the train via another way, I joined them. Turned out to be the engine room, long story short, they charged us 4k and it was when we got to Ajaokuta, they managed to smuggle us into the coach. Got to Itakpe and took a bus to Zuba 2k5. Coming back, I was early enough to get a ticket back to Warri
Wow! shocked Engine room Kwahuh?? That's risky oh.

Nigerians and overcharging!! 4k ke!

I'd like to use the train again, but since you said Ujevwu doesn't issue out tickets in the morning again, I guess I'd just use Agbor railway station again.

Boarded the train from Ibadan to Lagos yesterday. Very comfortable and neat.

Only downside is that the train was so slow.

Yes, there is.

First class ticket is 5k, second class is 2700(to Kaduna). (Na that old train way oyinbo dash us grin )

It's a 2 night journey. From Friday to Sunday.

I boarded the second class coach at Agege station, Lagos. The journey started well until we got to offa kwara state, that was when the first issue came up it was fixed after some hours sha. The second issue was in Niger state. The train ran off its track. Only the first 7 coaches could continue the journey to Kaduna and I was in the 11th Coach.

Omoh kon see rushing. I was able to enter one of the coaches through the window. E no funny that day.
Damnnnn! shocked shocked I'm imagining how you'd feel when the train ran off from it's track. Jeez!

Wow so the train even reaches Kwara sef? Nice.
Let them link the whole Northern and Southern States by train abeg.

The Lagos to Kano route is the old and narrow gauge one. This is the one that existed from the colonial era. It's not as comfortable as these new ones and it takes days to one's destination. The new trains which are the standard gauge only operate from ABJ-KD, LAG-IB and Itakpe- Warri.
The plan is to connect Lagos to Abuja then to Kano but they've decided to segment the construction. The current construction going on is the Kano to Kaduna that will automatically link Kano to Abuja.
Then there is the Itakpe- to Abuja construction that will also automatically link Abuja to Warri. Construction on this route will resume later in the year
Wow, I had no idea there's a Lagos-Kano route.
Thank you for this information.

yes it was very good and comfortable, the only issue I had was the speed and there are not enough train stations especially at major areas.

For example if I am going from Ikorodu Lagos to challenge in Ibadan. It is uneconomical for me to board a bus going to alagomeji, then enter train that would take me to omi adio or moniya, which would in turn cost me extra money to board a cab back to challenge
I'm glad it was comfortable.

Yeah, that's a Big issue. There aren't enough train stations at major areas. Hopefully, the Federal Government look into this matter and act accordingly. lipsrsealed

Oh that's a really lot of stress. shocked

Hi there. I don't think there's a train route passing Kano.

It's only Abuja-Kaduna that has railway station there.

Can someone go from Lagos to Abuja by train, even if you have to break the journey into two.

Because the last time I plied that Lagos to Abuja by road, I didn't have enough for flight ticket and the discomfort in that bus weakend my left legs for weeks that I couldn't even stretch the legs fully.
So I would love to know how one can navigate Lagos to Abuja by train
Well, I don't know how possible it is to navigate Lagos to Abuja by train.
The railway channels through Abuja include Warri, Okpara, Abraka, Agbor(all in Delta State), Uromi, Agenebode Itogbo (these three in Edo State), Ajaokuta and lastly Itakpe(Kogi State).

The only way you can get to Abuja from Lagos is if you board a bus headed to Warri, then use train ride straight to Itakpe Railway station and finally get a bus headed to Abuja.

Yes enjoyable, but very slow. Not sure why still pegged to 45mph on average after several years of operation- same as the Lagos-Ibadan

Looking forward to Lag-Ibadan later this month. There are now three trips on Fridays from Lagos

Yeah, a friend said that modern trains in the Western countries are fast with an insane speed, almost equalling that of a plane.

I hope we get there someday too. smiley

got the Abuja-Kaduna return trip just before the pandemic. Many Ogas were onboard with their PAs and security attachee

Glad they've introduced the online booking for Abuja, a bit weird they contract didn't just cover the whole NRC routes.
Hope you enjoyed the train ride from Abuja to Kaduna? smiley

There's no online booking for other NRC routes, you'd have to go there early and book ahead and it's quite draining.

You best bet is to probably exit the country and go for postgraduate studies abroad. That way you can easily open yourself to international opportunities. While you may be lucky to escape any of those low-paying jobs, the chances are quite low. Opportunities are generally lacking in Nigeria.
Thank you very much. smiley

Sure thing.

There aren't much opportunities again and it's quite sad.
