zoboizee: Guys, should we not be expecting more poor showing from the national teams? Corruption is fighting back at us. Why should players for the national teams not selected on merit rather on "who you know or cash & carry basis". See players protesting seriously over unpaid bonus & allowances. The only country so to speak of all the countries in Poland. It is really a disgrace from our FA! The guys must have seen this as leverage against the FA for the bribes allegedly paid to make the team. Just too sad. Corruption also exist in the SE. |

EEGA: Super Eagles Training Report : Iheanacho Surprise Inclusion In Top Five Performers The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been training in Asaba ahead of their participation at the next Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt and Owngoalnigeria.com picks five players who have so far impressed in the three sessions the team have had so far. 1. Victor Osimhen – He has carried his form from Belgium to the camp of the Super Eagles of Nigeria. In the three training sessions the team have had so far, the forward has maintained his sharpness level which is the highest among the strikers in the camp of the team. 2. Moses Simon – No doubt he is fired up for this one. The way he was gliding past his markers with ease was the main highlight of his game during the session. He took it a step forward with his pin point delivery when in space and even in tight spaces. 3. Samuel Chukwueze – No way is he not going to make the squad for AFCON 2019. He was not just sharp and lively but also very decisive with the ball at his feet. Another side of his game he appears to have worked on is defending as he won so many balls for his team.
4. Leon Balogun – Despite his limited game time at Brighton and Hove Albion he looked very fit and sharp. During the session he got his interceptions and tackles right and didn’t tire out as expected. The personal training he had has kept him in shape for this. 5. Kelechi Iheanacho – Many criticised his inclusion in the squad of players for the tournament, no thanks to his poor form and lack of game time at English Premier League side Leicester City. That appears to have zero effect on his performance as he was very clinical during the shooting drills and the 5-aside game they played. He scored with almost all of his efforts. Iheanacho! I don't know if he should be dropped or not. I am confuse. |

cc12: U can't be going to a big tournament with just three centre backs, Awaziem is going to AFCON There are five CBs on the list. Balogun, Ekong, Omeruo, Awaziem and Ajayi. One of them have to be dropped and I think it is between Awaziem and Ajayi. Moreover, I think Rohr prefers the one who can deputise for Shehu and at the same time play the other roles. |

AIG07: How quickly people forget things.
One player I won't like to see miss out of this tournament is Moses Simon. Dude has been underrated recently. He is a balanced player. His ability to track back to help the fullbacks puts him ahead of others.
If I'm to select our flank players, I'll have them ranked in this order
Musa, (VC) Moses Simon Henry, Chukwueze Samuel Kalu.
The abundance of talents covering this position has made everyone forget about V. Moses.
+ I agree with you on Simon. However, the outcome of AFCON will determine if Vicmo has been forgotten. |

Winning the AFCON is part of the achievement but after winning the cup the team went into an Oblivion . Victor Moses is not limited to Africa alone neither is he a mediocre player. If Victor Moses isn't a team player there was no way you will win the AFCON. The team went into oblivion due to my brother selective selections. It has nothing to do with Victor Moses. |

Tijani helped us more than say Success who could not beat a single marker. Utin, Rabiu, Success and Sor were all worse than Tijani yesterday so that statement is clearly false. That's right. I agree he could have done better as a CMF. However, Dele brought flow into the game. Go and watch the match again. Tijani was the worst player on the pitch. That's the pure undiluted truth. |

BascoVanVeli: How are you sure when he never saw the ball? Poor touches and bad passing are the hallmarks of fatigue but we never saw that because he didn't see the ball. Eletu was ok but I would never have taken the lad of instead I would have played him closer to goal because he is the only one that could pick a pass.
Tijani had some bad touches but he did better than the other 2 attackers who offered nothing. How can you say he did not see the ball? Why didn't he pick a pass throughout his stay on the pitch? Dele Bashiru is a better passer in the team. It was very glaring when he came on. Tijani was the worst player on the field. Nothing to write home about. |

Danielnino00: Aigbhoun problem wasn't just players selection.. the man is tactically clueless... Give Manu that Aigboun team and he would give us a better performance even if the result are the same...
And talking about Amunieke and the u-20, don't pretend as if you don't know the poor treatment the NFF gave him and his team during the qualifiers .. The same Amunike has qualified Tanzania for the AFCON...
both Manu and Amunike are a hundred times better than the fraud called Aigboun..
U can attack Manu all u like.. it won't stop him from producing another set of talented players for the national team.. even if it excludes some of your precious players... What did Manu achieve with Iheanacho, Simon, Success, Awoniyi, Ndidi, Nwakali etcetera at the U20 world cup? Abi, you wan make I believe this team has better talent than Manu Garba team? Amunike failed at the U-20 level. I knew he was going to fail with that his one way tiki taka style of play. Amunike quantifying Tanzania over Lesotho and Cape Verde Islands is what you want to boast about? Bhuhahahaha! Let him face good teams before you begin to boast. Amunike and Manu are only better in your dreams. As far as I am concern, they are all not good enough as long as their selection is controversial. EOD Manu selection is not different from Aigbogun. He is also a fraud. But you hypocrite wanted Aigbogun to play YOUR precious players. Hypocrites everywhere. |

I wonder how much criticism u threw at Amunike after the u-17 AFCON. . Why are you criticizing Aigbogun? Is it not because of poor selection? Manu is not different from Aigbogun. EOD Did Amunike even qualify us for U-20? He failed woefully. Didn't he? What are you talking about? |

As far as u-17 is concerned, you need not worry about Nigeria or Manu .. Double standard. Manu selection was poo. |

BascoVanVeli: He didn't show any signs of fatigue IMO just that they didn't give him the ball. We didn't have an attack so how could we have had a missing link? At least Tijani was pressing, what did the other 2 do? He was obviously fatigue and rightly sub. Eletu stabilised the mildfield better. Tijani was a waste of space. He was meant to hold on play from a long pass and pass the ball quickly to the players behind or beside him but he was very poor at ball control and could not pass the ball. |
