I dey wait. You never believed in Awoniyi from the onset. So, I never for once took you seriously. Any Awoniyis, Kayodes, etc are just average to you and your cohorts. Internet never forgets. After looking at the snapshot of our debate in 2016, is Awoniyi among the top 5 world class talented players our U17 produced? As you can see my prediction then is in line with the reality today but it goes along way to prove that you and many here are sentimental and prejudice in all analyses.

I only count league goals not when you score against non professional footballers in cups, Nwaekeme has 10,Awoniyi has 7 Who is talking about career goals? Nwaekeme is not a striker going by that stats and he scored in a lower league lower than the Belgium League. EOD. Maybe Europa League goals are lesser than the Turkish league goals. |

If he can score more goals from the LW position than Awoniyi can score as a striker he sure deserves a place ahead of him First of all, how many goal has he scored as a striker in his whole entire career? See below. As you can see, he is a winger and not a striker. Now, see Awoniyi stats as a striker. The last time I checked, Nwaekeme and Awoniyi are tie at 12 goals. Where did he score more than Awoniyi?

Is it because he's not from the region you want to see in the team list? Is the Turkish league better than the Belgium league? Since, you have seen the players from the region you want to see, hope you are satisfied? Besides, is Nwaekeme a striker? If not, which of the LW on the list will you drop for him?

Danielnino00: Sometimes when people clamour for players inclusion in the national team, they forget that the national team structure is totally different from club structure .
Spots in the national team are limited... and game time itself is limited.. u have to prove yourself at club level before u get called up to the national team and u have to perform in the national team to keep ur spot there..
Forgiveness I support your argument that Awoniyi deserves to be on the list...but then the players who made the list ahead of him deserve it too... In the case of Paul,he has been consistent since he moved to the Danish league. He should have been called up long ago but there where others ahead of him..and now he has gotten his chance and made good use of it... osimhen too has been in good form this season... Even Iheanacho deserves another chance to redeem himself. Don't forget that he was our best striker before his loss of form..Regardless of his club form,I think he has done well enough with the super eagles to merit another chance..
Awoniyi is still young.. he will still play for the super eagles.. let him keep working hard...missing an AFCON spot isn't the end of the road for him... So relax... Why should I relax? Did I bring up the matter? Why can't you address the person that claimed Iheanacho deserved to be on the list because he plays in a far higher league than Awoniyi neglecting the fact that Awoniyi is also playing in a far far far far far league higher than the Danish league where Paul is? Why can't you address the person that claimed Awoniyi is not consistent enough to be called into the National team but didn't tell how consistent Osimhen was before he got a call into the National team? Please, save your advice for yourself because you are bias in judgement. Thanks |

Has osimhen or Paul started a competitive match ?
The last time I check kayode has 4 appearance for eagles
There is a certain nwakaeme doing well that was not called up also ,there is also a certain sly igboun
Calm down Whether it's important or friendly, the point is, he was never started but others got started. For 14, 20, 19 and 3 minutes games? Is that what you call chances? Oasis007: Sometimes some Dudes beat your Imaginations and Expectations of them as regards to Fairness. How can Someone keep hammering that Awoniyi won't even make the U23 first XI for God's sake?!
First and foremost, it was he's playing in a lower League, forgiveness dropped an uncontestable Fact to checkmate it. Secondly it was the heroic Performance of Osimhen at the last U23 qualifying Match as if Awoniyi had not done the similar Feat in GwG.
Why shying away from the Question asked by Forgiveness?! How many Goals did he score before he was called over to the National Team?! Because Onuachu scored a Goal in his Debut Season, thus he's rated highly and better than Awoniyi now. I pray he doesn't turn to be another Ogbuke!
Though Forgiveness can be annoying at times, but he's right on Awoniyi's Exclusion From the List. He's in form, he's playing well for his Club, yet he's not even on the standby List. That's unfair!
Am I surprised that Iheanacho made the List? Capital No! Is he gonna be dropped? Capital No! Iheanacho is going to Egypt, same as Musa, Simon, Etebo, Ndidi, Mikel, Balogun, Ekong, Igbalo.
The Competition for the final List is between Onyekuru, Chuks, Osimhen, Onuachu and Kalu. Two of them are going to be dropped. They are talented, exceptional but they're not core Members of the Squad yet.
Besides why do we need 10 Attackers in the Squad at the Expense of Midfielders, especially attacking Midfielders?! Seem Rohr is thinking of of playing 4 - 2 - 4 Formation in Egypt? Two Strikers flanked by tricky, pacy Wingers who can as well operate as Wingbacks by covering up for the FBs if the need be.
End Note: In my Opinion, the List is fair enough. I have nothing against it, so is everyone on the List. And whoever makes the final Cut should count himself lucky and ready to die for the Color. What do except from someone who believes Awoniyi is never a good striker from the unset. Because they don't have an answer. |

Icon4s: How many months after playing U17, as a 16 years old, did Onigbinde invite Opabunmi for camping for a major event like the WC? Barely 6-7months. What level of his game had he developed from few months after the U17 WC?
It was just like taking Osimhen to the WC in 2016 if it was held that year. See u comparing Opabunmi's case with that of Osimhen who was invited for an AFCON qualfiers (not even a WC o) after almost 2 years after playing U17 and having signed a senior professional contract.
The Nigerian press had every reason to ask questions about Opabunmi's inclusion. And what was the Coach's answer? "He is my boy". All these are irrelevant because you said Osimhen was first called to the National team based on just 'special' talent status as seen in the bolded below. Was Opabumi not called at first based on special talent status? Why did you against it then and even till now since he was indeed a special talent but you want us to believe it was okay to call Osimhen at first based on special talent status? Icon4s: First off please when did we ever have an Iwobi vs Dele Alli argument here?
Talking about Awoniyi we are talking 2019 here. Awoniyi couldn't score in a 2019 U23 qualfiers and the Osimhen u are trying very hard to pull down because of him scored 3. That is what we are discussing here.
I have told u Osimhen is a special talent which was why Rohr picked him early. You cannot say same for Awoniyi who has even been struggling with form for a couple of years now. |
