Humility017:And who told you I never watched the boring match? Mikel Obi and Vicmo were the biggest fluke in that tournament but today they are the best. However, it's allover the net that Mikel Obi was the MOTM but I asked because I wanted your attention for my first question. I ask again, what position did Ramon Azeez played? Let us see whose knowledge is based on sport writing. Thanks |
MetalJigsaw:That means Agu is up against these three guys while Rohr is looking for one who can replace Mikel Obi incase of any eventuality and I think Joel Obi, Abdul Ajagun, Sone Aluko and Sokari can be given the chance to prove themselves. ![]() |
TheGoodJoe:Perfect. We know Onazi has been given the license to move up while Ndidi stays and screen the back four. So, in this case, Joel Obi can play the role of Onazi while Ndidi screens. Men! That will be great. I saw Joel Obi played yesterday and I can authoritatively tell you that he can defend wella. Common, Seria A player for that matter. |
Humility017:Which one be ya Ramon Azeez? Oh! The stereotype stuff against his kind? Is that it? Oga! If you, I mean yaself is honest, you would have told us how miserable almost all players were that night. Singling out Ramon Azeez is very bias and lopsided. If you claimed he barely passed a ball can you explain this independent report of his game after match? Azeez: Created a single opening after the restart and was eventually replaced by Odemwingie. Mikel: The Super Eagles need their best player to be operating at a much higher level. https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2099057-iran-vs-nigeria-live-player-ratings.amp.html If I may ask, where do Ramon Azeez play in that match? Was Mikel Obi MOTM in that match against Iran? |
TheGoodJoe:He can. |
edi287:It seems this is an arrangee thing from some agents but if i talk d go say I dey craze. |
AIG07:Ok na. So, the 'player' must be Kayode? I intentionally didn't put name there. Hahaha! Sorry, I was not referring to Kayode. |
Humility017:@bolded is a very wrong misconception. First of all, your comment about Ramon Azeez painted him as a rubbish player and therefore, did not deserve to go to the WC. That's far from it because he started and finished 20 matches out 30 matches he played in the la liga prior to that wc. Abi, was there a better CM/DMF prior to that WC? Besides, he was played out of position inthat match against Iran. He should have been played in his natural CM/DMF role instead of AMF. However, Mikel also yelled at Onazi several times. Does that mean Onazi is not good. If you are talking about passing, it is better you check Ramon Azeez's statistics. |
Humility017:Hahaha, but you have written off Abdul, Raheem, Joel and Sone. Which way. |
Humility017:Based on the @bolded, don't you think Abdul Ajagun meets the criteria? Because he scored in 2 goals with 2 assists in his club last 4 games. Ain't that impressive?r |
Humility017:What is expected of him? |
tbaba1234:Nice one. |
Humility017:How do you know? If you know how Ogu made the team then you will know Abdul stands a better chance if he helps his club to win a trophy with MOTM award. Nothing is guaranteed until March or June. However, we need to see Agu and Ogu again. Are they fighting for the same slot? I doubt. |
Humility017:Now, I am understanding. ![]() But for clarity sake, I want to state clearly and boldly that Joel Obi and Sokari are not in the same Level. I mean holistically speaking. No bi same category oooo. ![]() That being said, I totally disagree that Joel Obi should not be given a chance based on fitness issues because as at now Joel obi is fit and stable. And he is read to go to the world cup. Gbam However, it is totally unfair to compare Joel Obi and Sokari who are CMFs to Agu who is a DMF. We can't pack our midfield with CMFs without considering the DMF hence the need for Agu to compete with whosever wants that DMF slot. |
Humility017:Why Sokari? Is Sokari better than Abdul and Raheem not to talk of Ogu? |
Humility017:Emm! Why do you prefer Sokari over Joel Obi? Are you insinuating Sokari is better than Joel Obi? Because I yam not understanding. ![]() |
komekn:I think Iorfa is more a RB than a CB though I saw him played in the CB position and I was impressed. I just want us to have many options. |
AIG07:Hmm, so you think he is no longer overhyped but a prospect. Hahahaha! If Kayode whose harvest of goals that helped catapulted Maccabi to the Israeli top flight, and prompted the club doubled his salary is still prospect, if Kayode who became the third highest goal scorer in his first season in the Israeli top flight league and later went to became the third highest goal scorer in the Austrian league the next season, and if Kayode who in his second season became the top goal scorer and best player in the Austrian league is still a prospect to you, even after all these in a space of 4 seasons, then I know you have not critically analysed his career but have spoken as one of those Nigerians who are always carried away by the wind of sentiment or interested in other meaningless issues. If Kayode is a prospect then what is Kelechi at 21 and Nwakaeme at 28? world class, ba? Well, it is your opinion and it remains so because Guardiola and Man city know better hence the reason they bought him and sent him to the best league in the world. Abi, you just think they just wan spend money on a 24 years old player wey come over hyped join? Hahaha! No be you wan see Nwakaeme who struggled for two good seasons before he found his foot to become the second highest goal scorer last season in the Israeli top flight league to be given a chance because you believe he is better than Kayode at 28 years old? Oga! See what happened before Guardiola bought kayode. A bold statement to make, however, sources close to the player’s camp told KweséESPN that Pep Guardiola watched films of the youngster for two months before making a decision on him. if true, that tells its own story, and a good one too. Merry Christmas. |
chrisooblog:Wishing you the same. ![]() |
AIG07:Oh! I see. Nwakali is ahead based on the mago mago way and not necessarily based on class. Hahahah! Nigeria. Wishing you the same. |
tbaba1234:Maybe Okocha was part of the mafia then and you know he get mouth for NFF. |
AIG07:Aggressive? I don't think so but if you think otherwise, my apologise. However, if you claim Iheanacho is going through hard times but you can't say the same for Kayode then I know the big log of wood in your eyes can't make you see things in a more reasonable and critical way. Sentiments and lopsidedness are the keynotes of your points. Why? Kelechi has flopped big time in the past seasons and it is the past glory of three seasons ago that is his saving grace for a look into the National team else he should not be called in the first place. About being the most clinical forward, that is a big fallacy if you meant CF because he has failed severally in that position hence the need for Rohr to find him a suitable postion. That was why he was played as a RW and SS in our last games. Now, talking about Kayode. Did you watch him played this season? If no, I understand you relied on hearsay or statistics to make your points because if you saw him played you would had known he was played in various positions and he was brought on to play when he either had to defend or faced a defensive team. Overall, his performance will be the deciding factor at the end of the season. Moreover, Mane who came from the lowly Austrian league has gone ahead to be nominated for APOTY award ahead of Kelechi whom you think is from EPL. Don't forget it took Griezman three good seasons before he became an house hold name in the la liga. What does that means? You can decode a player with prospect even if his situation are not tantalizing but a player without a prospect during the course of a season or two is as good as flop. That is how you scout a player. No bi by name or tribal mark. |
Famocious:I think it not that serious. Hope he gets better soon. |
tbaba1234:No wonder parents knowledgeable about the SE do not want to see their pikin where he will discriminated. No be me talk am ooooo. |
komekn:Tosin has played in the UEFA Champions league and the Carling cup. From what I saw he is very very good. |
komekn:Many people here believe English players are overhype but I challenge any one here to give me top 2 Nigerian players ever that can stand side by side with the top 5 English players ever. I don't think anyone would dare it. Yesterday, I saw Kane and Ali played and I thought, are these the players some people wanna compare with what we have in the Eagles? I just smh. |
These German and France based Goalkeepers should be selected by Gernot Rohr 2017-05-06 | Don Osaheni With Carl Ikeme unable to continue the beautiful game for sometime, The chances of the Super Eagles maintaining discipline at the back in future games have taken a jeopardized nature. A piece of this was seen against South Africa where the stand - in goalie was totally woeful in goal. Now, the Enyeama fans are out viciously. You can't blame them, Vincent is no doubt a great keeper but Nigeria is a great footballing nation. It should be able to do without any player if mangement had focus. Sunday Oliseh arguably did some wrongs when he made Ahmed Musa the captain of the Super Eagles, a decision which understandably forced Vincent Enyeama into retirement. Vincent Enyeama on the other hand drew criticisms by retiring, as fans wondered if he would retire from club football if similar treatment occurred. Marcelo Bielsa sacked Enyeama at Lille, why did he not retire from club football? Players that feel larger than the national teams must be taught a lesson. Enyeama must not return to the Eagles unless he apologizes. As Nigeria faces a bleak future with no reliable goal keeper and leader at the rear, Carl Ikeme appeared and calm our nerves. There is no argument that Enyeama himself would felt no inner joy each time he watched Carl in goal. Surely, as Enyeama retired, he knew we had no good local replacements and wanted to bring the nation to its knees begging him to return. Wishes are not Horses, Nigerian football has since improved under Amaju Pinnick led NFF who found a very good coach in Gernot Rohr to handle the team. The super eagles look set to fly to Russia 2018 as the first African nation to qualify but tragedy has struck with Carl Ikeme unfortunate Leukaemia. With Enyeama smelling a chance to return to the team, and the Nff not sure of how to replace Carl; Pro Enyeama writers have begun to remind on the need to recall Enyeama, even quoting the prodigal son and forgiveness story in the bible. Well, no doubt that Enyeama is our son but we must do everything not to allow the progress we enjoy under Amaju Pinnick and Gernot Rohr to become retrogressive. We have moved on from Enyeama and so be it. Going Forward, here are two goal keepers in Europe the Nff can work fast on. #1. Jonathan Ligali - born on 28th May, 1991 in Benin Republic to Nigerian parents, he moved to France at a very young age of 4. He is the second choice goalie of FC Montpelier of France, a club that is just three points off behind Enyeama's FC Lille. He is eligible for Nigeria, Benin Republic and France. He represented France at all youth levels. This season, he distinguished himself against PSG in the cup game. Click the link below to watch his video and see his saves https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnTM9XXrg48&t=3s #2. Robin Udegbe - born in Germany on 20th March 1991, Robin Udegbe has got himself a reputation for saving penalties. He has stopped 6 penalties this season. He currently plays for German divison 2 side, FC Oberhausen. He kept for 33 games and had 6 clean sheets as well. he is known for great reflexes and saves. https://www.dontiko.com/single-post/2017/05/06/Nigeria-needs-not-return-to-Enyeama-we-have-good-options-in-Europe?_amp_=true |
Mickael2:France clinch dramatic semi-final berth (FIFA.com) 14 Aug 2011 France's players celebrate after scoring against Nigeria France have booked their first-ever semi-final appearance at the FIFA U-20 World Cup, seeing off Nigeria 3-2 in Cali after substitute Maduabuchi Ejike scored a last-gasp equaliser to send the match into extra-time. Nigeria were flying high with four consecutive victories at these finals, but it was France who snatched the one-goal lead after the break through in-form substitute Alexandre Lacazette. The Africans desperately searched for an equaliser to keep their hopes alive, and with a stroke of luck found it through Ejike with just ten seconds left to play in normal time. France, likely feeling robbed of a 1-0 victory, were searing after the restart and quickly scored through captain Gueida Fofana and Lacazette, tallying a double, before Ejike scored a second for Nigeria to make for a nervy finish. Les Bleuets had the first real chance on goal when Timothee Kolodziejczak got to the end of a free-kick, flashing a low-header wide. Ahmed Musa was soon thwarting the French backline, though, as he dribbled into the area from the right wing past Loic Nego, but his proceeding shot was blocked by the defence. While France tried two ambitious attempts through Cedric Bakambu and then Clement Grenier, neither side were able to produce any real danger until the half-hour mark. Grenier, unable to clear the ball, was pick-pocketed by Olarenwaju Kayode, who passed to Musa on the left. The striker advanced with pace, and lashed a low-drive only to see it denied by goalkeeper Jonathan Ligali. And in a successive chance, Kayode again played creator, serving the ball into Edafe Egbedi who tapped to Musa atop the area. The No7 advanced towards Ligali’s net, but his shot was blocked en route. France handed the Nigerian’s a warning, however, when Kolodziejczak found Bakambu in the area. Goalkeeper Dami Paul pulled off a spectacular save, denying the No17 with his fingertips to keep things deadlocked headed into the break. However, it didn’t take long for France to find the net in the second half. In the 49th minute, Grenier did well to split Kenneth Omeruo and Ramon Azeez, finding Lacazette clean through on goal. The No19 made no mistake with a precise low-drive. The Africans, in an attempt to respond quickly, found Azeez in the area, but the captain was indecisive with his shot and was ultimately denied. France were breaking down the Nigerian defence on the counter, and on 58 minutes Lacazette nearly made it a double on the night, but Paul pulled off a fine save. Musa then had the Cali crowd on their feet begging for a Nigerian goal. The striker first headed the ball narrowly wide, and a minute later followed with a powerful bending shot that also flew wide of the woodwork. France threatened on the counter, and were nearly through to the semi-finals, but Nigeria had another say in the matter and scored an unlikely injury-time goal to send the match into extra time. In a last-stitch effort, goalkeeper Paul fired a long-range pass to Uche Nwofor, who nodded it over to Maduabuchi Ejike in the centre of the area. The substitute had just entered the match, and with a stroke of luck headed Nwofor’s pass right over the onrushing Ligali. The French were unwilling to handover their semi-final ticket, though, and quickly snatched the lead in extra time. Fofana, with a nifty long-range chip, lobbed the ball over Paul into the Nigerian net. Lacazette bagged a brace just a minute later after receiving a fine pass across the face of goal from Kakuta. Ejike tallied his second on the night in the second period of extra time, unsettling Les Bleuets, but the Nigerians were unable to pull another goal back. .......................................................................... Sani was the fourth striker. Kayode started all the matches save the third match and also scored in all the the first three matches. He had two assists of which one was in the match against England. |
Mickael2:To be frank with you, Ejike was the third choice behind Kayode and Uche Nwofor. |
Mickael2:And who was the first? |
Mickael2:Scored goals with assists. |
AIG07:First of all, I do not think Nwakali should be included among players fighting for that slot because he down the pecking order. Players like Joel, Sanusi, Ajagun and Raheem are far far far ahead of him. However, it seems you assumed we are still in 2009 when Kayode played for the U17. Bros, clear ya eyes we are in 2017 going to 2018. Therefore, you should be aware that many water don pass under bridge. The boy has gone from grass to grace. He was even better than Kelechi Iheanacho who flopped big time in the U20 WC stage but Kayode shined in both the 2011 and 2013 edition of the U20 WC. And you should be aware that many star players of today sprang out from Kayode's set. Players that flopped big time then but today they are far far better than Kayode. Players like Eric Dier, John Stones, Harry Kane, Saul, and Griezman were nobodies then but today they are in the ascendary. So, do we judge these players based on their performance in the age grade competition now? Or do we judge some players based on past under age glory? Were is Sani Emmanuel today? Open ya eyes, these players are top players now hence their under age performance is inconsequential. The most important thing about spotting a talented player is consistency and if we go by that Kayode is a better player than Nwakaeme and Kelechi Iheanacho because he has being consistent over the YEARS. The fact that you have expectations on Nwakaeme who struggled for two good seasons in the Israeli league before he managed to score double digit goals last season and two seasons ago showed that you are not aware Kayode was the third highest goal scorer in the same Israeli league when both played. That was even his first and last season before he moved to Austria were he scored double digit goals in his first season before he went to become the Austrian league top goal scorer and best player of the same league. This is what scouts are looking for in players and that was what Newcastle, Manchester City etc saw and came calling for his services. Abi, Guardiola no get brain to have sold Iheanacho and gone for and Overhyped player? ![]() If Iheanacho was that exceptional, I don't think Guardiola would have preferred Raheem and Gabriel Jesus over him. And to add salt to injury Guardiola personally placed a call to a player overhyped in this thread. Meaning he rates Kayode highly that the exceptional Kelechi Iheanacho. Is that not an irony? Wake up! Iheanacho has to improve else he will be forgotten so soon. Likewise, Kayode has to prove himself in the la liga less he becomes an outcast. Moreover, in a sane country Iheanacho can't smell the bench of a national team in this condition. It is only in Nigeria, sentiments overrides common sense. |
