Stop making Vitesse the same as Wolfsburg. Talk like someone who understands football.

Wolfsburg might be having challenges but it is a respected club. Origi having regular playing time in Wolfsburg trumps a third striker in Liverpool. However, a starter in Vitesse can not compare to a third striker in City.

Firmino who is a starter for Liverpool is behind Gabriel Jesus in the Brazilian National team. Firmino will bench in Manchester City. He will not start ahead of Gabriel Jesus or Aguero. Simple logic.

It was City Iheanacho was benching in. Not Liverpool.

Origi is better than Solanke. That is not even up for debate. If Origi was in Liverpool now, Solanke would be behind him in pecking order. It is a big lie saying he chased Origi who is better than him.
Vitesse arnhem is in the same league with Wolfsburg fc based on their exploit in their various leagues and in Europe. Sorry. grin

They are currently both in the Europa League. grin

Danny Ings is enough to know that is a joke quote. Even during the preseason, it was clear Origi was ahead of Solanke in pecking order.

The point is Solanke did not push Origi out. He left because of playing time and Solanke was not denying him playing time. Solanke was behind Origi in pecking order.

The point is too simple. It is a wonder how you can drag (not argue) such a simple point.
Dominic Solanke takes pre-season opportunity as Divock Origi strugglesstruggles

HENRY JACKSON
6 AUG 2017

The differing performances of Dominic Solanke and Divock Origi in pre-season have been noticeable, with the new signing taking the opportunity to impress while the Belgian floundered.

We are all too painfully aware that the Reds are in need of strengthening at centre-back, with more shoddy defending on Saturday allowing Athletic Bilbao’s Inaki Williams to equalise.

Some would also like to see reinforcements at full-back and in centre midfield, but in attack, it is hard to complain about the depth at Jurgen Klopp’s disposal.

With Roberto Firmino the undisputed first-choice striker going into the new season, plenty of debate has arisen about who his main back-up should be.

Given that Daniel Sturridge carrying a small injury, and Danny Ings is a long way from being match fit, Solanke and Origi are competing to be Klopps back-up forward.

Judging by their respective impacts summer, there is only one winner.

The signing of 19-year-old Solanke wasn’t met with too much excitement this summer, with plenty of reports suggesting the Chelsea youngster was arriving to be part of the under-23s squad initially.

Some stellar performances at the U20 World Cup with England certainly turned heads, however, and he was named the tournament’s best player after the Three Lions’ triumph.

For Liverpool, Solanke then hit the ground running immediately, not looking remotely daunted by joining a club of such stature, and looking far more mature and ready to flourish than even Klopp may have expected – the manager having admitted he knew little of Solanke and trusted his scouts.

Three goals in pre-season have caught the eye, with his first Reds strike a corker against Crystal Palace, and his two headers, which Hertha Berlin and Bilbao were on the receiving end of, weren’t too shabby, either.

It is Solanke’s all-around game that has really impressed, though, with an ability to hold the ball up thanks to his towering frame, as well as possessing a deft touch, good pace and a level of in-game intelligence beyond his years.

If the former Chelsea youngster is only being spoken of in glowing terms right now, things couldn’t be much different with Origi.

The Belgian suffered a poor 2016/17 season, and while 11 goals for the campaign should not be sniffed at, especially when he often featured from the substitutes’ bench, it masked some very lacking displays.

When key attacking players were either injured or unavailable, most noticeably Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane, he failed to be a successful deputy.

It would be incredibly harsh to blame Origi for Liverpool’s alarming capitulation around the turn of the year, but he certainly didn’t help, and the Reds’ forward play dipped hugely with him on the pitch.

This summer provided the 22-year-old with a great chance to prove his worth and show that last season was a blip, but he has disappointed once more.

One solitary goal, a bundled effort in the 2-0 win over Palace, was a rare moment of happiness, but it has otherwise been an ineffective month.

He saved arguably his poorest performance for the end of pre-season on Saturday, and it was only made worse by another influential Solanke display in the second-half.

Two glorious chances were missed during his 45 minutes on the pitch, once when clean-through and the other a header that should have been buried, and he again looked the weak-link in Liverpool’s attacking unit.

His failure to link-up with those around him was a continuous issue, and one of many misplaced passes played a key part in Bilbao’s equaliser.

The chasm in quality between Solanke and Origi has been alarming, especially when you consider the latter is more experienced, and it is a no-brainer as to who should feature more in 2017/18.

We are all guilty of making strong opinions about a footballer early in his Liverpool career – Bjorn Tore Kvarme played like Alan Hansen at first – and it is fair to we’ve been no different with Solanke.

He has undoubtedly looked more polished than a lot predicted, and the confidence and maturity with which he carries himself can only bode well.

We have only seen him in pre-season, however, and when the new Premier League season gets underway, we will see what he is really made of. Heaping too much pressure on him would be needless.

It wasn’t long ago that Origi was scoring home and away against Borussia Dortmund and being pencilled in as a future Anfield star, which goes to show that things can change very quickly.

The Belgium international’s failure to kick on has probably been the key to him falling down the pecking order, rather than Solanke’s excellence, and his Liverpool career is at a crucial stage now.

At 22, he cannot keep being afforded the excuse of having time on his side, and his general decision-making is showing little sign of improving.

It would be wrong to expect enormous things of Solanke from the off, once competitive matches start, but he has to seen as a better option that Origi as things stand.

It is difficult to think of one attribute Origi has that stands out more than his fellow striker – if he doesn’t find an extra gear soon, the gap between the pair will only grow wider.

Na wa. Is that not the fake lie I pointed? You have gone full circle to the fake lie. That point is not true because Solanke was not piling any pressure on Origi. Origi brings more to the team than Solanke. He was ahead of the pecking order.

Liverpool did not ask Origi to go. He went on his own seeking playing time. You can dine in your self delusion o this issue but you are not deceiving people who can see between the fake lie.

Liverpool agreed a season-long loan deal with Wolfsburg for Divock Origi on deadline day to offer the striker more game time.

The 22-year-old’s position in the first team had come under threat from new signing Dominic Solanke.

Wales youngster Ben Woodburn was also piling on the pressure, prompting Jurgen Klopp to ship Origi out to Germany.

Dzeko's departure will give Nigerian teenager Kelechi Iheanacho more opportunities

Despite scoring 72 goals in 187 appearances for City, the Bosnian forward has been told he can leave the Etihad Stadium after falling out of favour under Pellegrini, who is ready to operate with Raheem Sterling and Nigerian teenager Kelechi Iheanacho as cover for Sergio Aguero and Wilfried Bony this season.

Pellegrini told Dzeko that he can leave. Pellegrini had faith that Iheanacho was ready to fill the void. Not at all the same case with Solanke.
This presents the other forwards in the squad with an opportunity. Solanke, Divock Origi and Danny Ings are all vying for that spot but there will be no definitive winner, at least not anytime soon.

In Dzeko's case, Manchester City made it public that they will accept offers for Dzeko. Pellegrini trusted Iheanacho to do the job.

Dzeko with his Roma shirt

Edin Dzeko has admitted that it was the tough competition for places at Manchester City, as well as a couple of injuries, which resulted in him leaving the club for Roma on a season-long loan.

“I played less in my last year at City because they’re a top club with lots of players. I also had an injury that held me back," he said in a press conference.

"What happened last season is in the past now. Roma is my present and I can’t wait to get started.

“I had four fantastic years at Manchester City. They’ve improved a lot in recent years and I hope to repeat similar success at Roma” the 29 year old added.

Dzeko goes with the best wishes of most City fans after leaving a note on Twitter expressing his gratitude to the club and stating that he “will continue to be a big fan of Manchester City”

The Bosnian striker scored 71 goals in 185 appearances for the Blues in his 4 and a half year stay at the Etihad including some key goals at vital moments, such as the equaliser in the 3-2 win against Qpr on the final day of 2011/12 season.

Whether City will miss the services of Dzeko remains to be seen but there is certainly more pressure now on the shoulders of Sergio Aguero to stay fit and Wilfried Bony to produce when required with the likelihood of the Blues signing a new striker unlikely.

You are still believing that fake lie that Solanke chased Origi from Liverpool. Fear God when you type things like this.
TheGoodJoe:
You are making one mistake. No one is saying Solanke is not hot. The discussion is that is the loan move favorable to build Solanke.

Falcao did not come in with a stellar season behind him. If I do not think Solanke is good, will I prefer Chelsea keeping him as a third strike instead of signing Falcao?

Chelsea does not rate him as much as you do.
Is it also safe to say Liverpool doesn't rate Origi as much as you do going by ya words? grin

TheGoodJoe:
That discussion is actually about the Olympic team. Joseph1013 pointed out to forgiveness know that Man City let Dzeko go because they were not satisfied with his performance and trusted Nacho to do the task.

Chelsea did not trust in Solanke to do the task and called a poor performing Falcao to play as the third striker. That was why we were analysig the players.
Is it also safe to say Liverpool didn't trust in Origi to do the task and called a poor performing Solanke to play as the third striker based on your last paragraph? grin

TheGoodJoe:
Do not play the age card, Nacho passed the MRI. Solanke is a promising talent but, the likes of Success, Nacho, Awo are stars plucked out from our system.

The Coaches can give Solanke a chance but, that boy has his eyes on England. Let us face it, they wait to see if England can give them a chance before Nigeria.

Ibe's case is enough to help you understand this.

Nacho's name is not from Academy goals, in two preseason tours with Man City, he was among the standout talents in a star studded City.

Dzeko was a big City talent, Jovetic was also brilliant. These two left, Pellegrini bought Bony and left Iheanacho to fill the other.

That shows the kind of faith the club has in him.

Solanke might have Reserve team goals but Nacho showed his quality playing for the main City team. Despite few games due to injuries, the coaches ticked him as class.

His man of the match performance in the Carling Cup against a strong EPL side like Crystal Palace was amazing. He dominated a field with a star studded City.

When Solanke puts in a man of the match performance against a strong EPL side, I will start taking him seriously as a match to Nacho.
Can we say though Origi is brilliant player but Liverpool bought Solanke to fill his space and it shows the kind of faith Liverpool has in him based on your fifth paragraph? grin

TheGoodJoe:
This is Nacho's first year as a professional footballer. I believe Nacho getting games with Man City makes him a more rated player than Solanke.

If you put both players in the market, I bet you that clubs will bid higher for Nacho than Solanke.

So why are you making it look like sending Solanke on loan was better than playing him as a third choice striker at Chelsea. That was a ridiculous decision by Chelsea.

Hence this is Nacho's first year in professional football, he needs to spend his time learning from his coaches and top stars. Better than him running around the pitch trying to understand how the best of the best do it.

Note: Wolfsburg is offering Osimhen first team football when he turns 18. They are not saying he will play as a starter. Nacho is already playing first team football in one of the biggest clubs in the world.

So far so good.

I do not rate regular time over working with the top players and coaches. Nacho also gets to play with these players. The time for game time will come. For now, he is to learn.

Will Obafemi Martins Make Nigeria's World Cup Roster? Rohr Answers
To
Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr has refused to categorically rule out the option of taking former Newcastle United and Inter Milan striker Obafemi Martins to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The German tactician has stated that majority of the players that helped the national team qualify for a sixth World Cup won't be omitted from the 23-man roster.

''We will call the best men, but now everybody wants to come because we are in the World Cup,'' Gernot Rohr told HipTV when asked if Martins will be called back to the Super Eagles

''The players who brought us to the World Cup, I don't forget them.''

Obafemi Martins also played a role in Nigeria's qualification for next summer's showpiece, having made two substitute appearances against Swaziland in the second round of the World Cup qualifiers in November 2015.

The Shanghai Greenland Shenhua frontman debuted for the Super Eagles at the World Cup against Argentina on June 12, 2010.

This season, Martins has contributed to 11 goals (8 goals, 3 assists) in 15 appearances for his Chinese club.

Liverpool is in no way one of the best teams in the world at the moment. Solanke is what exactly at Liverpool? 3rd choice! How many games has he started? Zero! What has been his contribution in the Epl this season? I mean Liverpool has been struggling to score goals in the Epl yet he hasn't started a game!

Now let this sink in for effect. Origi saw Firmino ahead of him and Sturridge too, he left because he knew he was too good to sit on the bench. The simple matter is that if Origi stayed he would have relegated Solanke to the U23 team. Solanke gets to sit on the bench because there is an English quota that must be maintained both in the Epl and Champions league.

Oshimen on the other hand just signed a professional contract. He was not trained in any german academy, he is still learning the german language and getting used to the german system of play yet he has accumulated just about the same minutes this season as Solanke. It's simple to accept, Bertrand Traore is a full fledged intl.

He had a brilliant season at Ajax last term, also showed class at last year's Afcon as well. Solanke is still playing at the U-21 level.

He's now at Lyon and has not stopped showing class. He even scored the winning goal for them today against everton.

Apart from the Golden boot (or whatever) solanke had with the U-20, there's nothing more he has on Bertrand.
He was trying to bring something out of nothing when he said Solanke failed in the Eredivise because that is failure by his own standard for a 17 years old player in his first professional club career. Then if that be the case, it's safe to say Bertrand Traore failed woefully in his first professional club career.

Abi, what do we call an 18 years old player who could not break into Vitesse first team, and when he was given the chance with the first team scored 3 goals out of 18 games?

It is understandable for an African teenager to have limited opportunities. Eto's first few seasons in Spain points to the challenges an African teen faces in Europe.

Origi was never a starter for Liverpool. Let's not talk up Origi likes he's some sort of world class player that was let go by Liverpool for Solanke to have a pathway.
Solanke is a youth team player. He haven't done nada at the pro level. His team mate at Chelsea Bertrand Traoure, is a Full international for Burkina Faso with 2 AFCON experience under his belt (both semi finals appearance), Europa cup finalist with Ajax and 2 resounding good season in the Dutch top flight.
This is what I call progression not playing U20 world cup.

The jury is still out on Solanke.
How much was Origi bought by Liverpool?

Answer: € 12m

Why was he bought?

Answer: To form part of the team of course.

How come he was sent on loan and Chelsea decided to buy Dominic? grin

Answer this question

OH! He is British while Origi is African. shocked grin

How many professional leagues games, goals, assists, MOTM, player of the month, etc did Bertrand Traore win before he was invited to the Burkina Faso National team on the 3rd of September 2011?

Was he doing all those stuffs to have merited a call?

He was no where near academy.

When did I mention he was banging goals left, right and centre?

Solanke and Traore could be mates but they operate at a very different stratosphere.
Traore is streets ahead of Solanke.
Don't be deceived, Traore wasn't able to break into Vitesse first team in his first season while Dominic Solanke started with a bang though he was younger than Traore. Why?

What exactly have Solanke achieved that Osimhen haven't achieved?
They both won the top scorers and Mvp in youth team competitions they participated.

Solanke is yet to record a senior team goal just like Osimhen.

I mean, Solanke could be a good player but let's not hype him to a stratosphere he doesn't belong.
Which youth competition did Victor Osimhen win Mvp?

While you're at it.

Dominic Solanke has scored goals in his professional career while Victor Osimhen is yet to get one.

However, Dominic Solanke is getting minutes in oneof the biggest leagues in the world and in one of the best teams in the world while Victor Osimhen is struggling to get play time in a club that almost went on relegation last season(i hope he does).

What an irony! grin

Another fat lie detected.

Traore is 22 while Solanke is 20. They were not in the same level in Chelsea age grade setting. So, stop lying. Please. grin

I know good players when I see one. Adding Yoruba is not the priority but to add quality to the National team.

So, far nobody can challenge me on almost all the players I have mentioned here. grin

You didn't even read the stats you were about to post, before posting to brag.

Did you check minutes played?

Solanke clocked 1800+ minutes while Traore clocked 606 mins. I mean, he played 3 times more than Traore and only contributed 5 goals more than him.
Despite injures you say? Smh
Why did a 17 years old Dominic Solanke got more game times than a 18 years old Bertrand Traore? shocked grin

What did Bertrand Traore do in his first season? I thought you said said he was banging in goals left right and center. grin

When Bertrand Traore repeated class because of failure in his first season, what did Bertrand Traore do in his second season? grin

37 matches with 18 goals

Why was he not called back by Chelsea in his first season? Why was Dominic Solanke retained and drafted into Chelsea_F.C first team after his first professional career? grin

18 matches with 3 goals

What did Dominic Solanke who was 17 years old as at 2015 do in his first season in the 2014/2015 Eredivise?

27 matches with 7 goals (despite injuries).

That Chelsea role is what we call Catchment area. No disrespect on the young lad but you tried hyping Vitesse to Wolfsburg's level. They are not in the same category. The Chelsea was not a regular spot. Liverpool, not a regular spot. So quit the hype.

Wish him well. Finito.
Catchment or no Catchment, Dominic Solanke is not operating in the same level with Osimhen despite the little age gap. Dominic Solanke has achieved more than Osimhen. No disrespect.

Haba. You want to put Vitesse in Wolfsburg's level. Na wa. Vitesse is not up to Wolfsburg's level.

Nowadays, so many people do not fear God.
At 16 Dominic Solanke was already playing for Chelsea in UEFA Champions League. That was on the 21st of October 2014.

At 19, he played for Liverpool.

You wan put Wolfsburg for Chelsea and Liverpool levels?

I think you are likely the one. grin
