TheSuperNerd: Solanke and Tammy in the Team will be the stuff of dreams added to Osimhen (hoping he lives up to expectations) and Whosoever breaks through as time goes on.... #HotQualityCompetition
That way, Iheanacho will have to settle for his most effective role as a SS (second striker/support striker), False 9(if ever we use a formation that supports this role), AMF (his primary and most centralised role) and RWF (if we play 4-3-3).
note: Nacho won't just walk into those roles.... He will face competition also.
for instance... in the AMF role, there is Iwobi and Etebo also... in the Post Mikel era....
Competition is good for the team. I hope the best makes the team at the end of the day.
I totally agree with you on Iheanacho, he was more effective as a SS or AMF when he played.
We don't need to follow Man City to continue to play in as a Striker. The same way we ignored Chelsea and played Mikel d way he is useful for us.
Off course, he won't be giving automatic shirt but I guarantee he will be chosen ahead of the rest because of his goal ratio, though the goals he missed should be cause for but let us hope dust himself out of the badluck and gather.
TheSuperNerd: WILFRED NDIDI: HOW NIGERIA'S PREMIER LEAGUE STARS CAN PUSH SUPER EAGLES TOWARDS FIFA 2018 WORLD CUP
Leicester City and Nigeria midfielder Wilfred Ndidi believes the Super Eagles’ growing Premier League contingent could drive the team toward FIFA 2018 World Cup qualification.
Ndidi was part of the Nigeria squad scheduled to play Burkina Faso in a friendly international at The Hive, home of English League Two team Barnet on Monday evening.
But Burkina Faso, the third-placed finisher at the recent Africa Cup of Nations, could not field a team after seven of its players failed to secure visas in time. Barnet refunded ticket sales and Nigeria played a training game between its own squad that included Ndidi, Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi, Watford’s Isaac Success and Ola Aina of Chelsea. Chuba Akpom, the 21-year-old Arsenal forward and England Under-21 international on loan at Brighton in the English Championship, participated in the second half.
“It’s a nice thing. The players who play in the English Premier League are much more experienced and it strengthens the team,” Ndidi told Newsweek after the game when asked if elite-level experience could help Nigeria.
The team captain, former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel, did not travel from China for the friendly against Senegal last Thursday and the canceled Burkina Faso fixture, while Chelsea’s starting right-wingback Victor Moses did not join the squad because of injury.
“The progression is very nice. We still need to work hard—the coach [Gernot Rohr] also says you need to work hard towards every game,” Ndidi said of Nigeria’s momentum toward the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Rohr’s team plays its next competitive fixture against South Africa in an Africa Cup of Nations 2019 qualifier on June 12. Two potentially pivotal World Cup qualifiers home and away against Cameroon loom at the end of August and start of September.
Ndidi has had a season of great highs and alarming lows in his first year in the Premier League, with Leicester’s Premier League title-winning manager Claudio Ranieri dismissed in February and Craig Shakespeare, his former assistant and temporary replacement, taking the team into a UEFA Champions League quarterfinal against Atletico Madrid. But the 20-year-old said Leicester had stuck together through it.
“We have always tried to work towards our goal. Always in the dressing room, fighting for each other and everything. We try to encourage each other,” he said.
“I don’t know, I really don’t know,” Ndidi said when asked what Shakespeare had changed from Ranieri. “I just know that it’s football, so everything changes. Everything is going well. Everybody was sad to see [Ranieri] go.”
TheSuperNerd: You bet I will..... Just hope I can get a hold of it....
Abeg.... Yara Yara... send Sir Forgiveness the E-wine.... And tell Sir TheGoodJoe that Sir Forgiveness will be a "speical" guest in our E-guest home soon....
Tell Sir TheGoodJoe to hide his legendary gloves.... abeg.
zuchyblink: The match was played in place of a botched friendly against Burkina Faso at the same venue after seven Stallions players failed to secure entry visas to fly into the United Kingdom. The game ended 1-1 with Kelechi Iheanacho and Kayode Olanrewaju on target for both sides. Stand-in skipper Ogenyi Onazi led a Team ‘A’ side comprising of Daniel Akpeyi, Leon Balogun, Ola Aina, William-Troost Ekong, Elderson Echiejile, Wilfred Ndidi, Oghenekaro Etebo, Kelechi Iheanacho, Moses Simon, Alex Iwobi. The Team ‘B’ side captained by Kenneth Omeruo had Ikechukwu Ezenwa in goal, Tyronne Ebuehi at right-back, Chidozie Awaziem, Juwon Oshaniwa at left-back, Shehu Abudulahi, John Ogu in central midfield, Kayode Olanrewaju, Isaac Success, Ebere Eze. According to Super Eagles media officer of the team, Toyin Ibitoye, the game was a good test for the squad. He also told Completesportsnigeria.com from the team’s camp in London that the players were excited to represent the country at international level. Ibitoye also added that several foreign-born players of Nigerian descent are eager to play for the Super Eagles. “The mood in camp is awesome and the players coming in for the first time are fully committed to representing Nigeria at the international level so it’s a good omen for the team,” Ibitoye reports.
If this report is true, let me arrange the two teams and let me see how they were positioned.
Humility017: just leave that man.... he has not seen anything yet...he thinks the SE is a dumping ground....let him and his son keep dreaming of 3 lions shirt
Mickael2: because even when we are having great games he is always the weak spot. Plus we have better options. Joseph rightly pointed out that Ogu was just okay, nor extraordinary but okay, yet when he came in we balanced the play, that means Onazi wasn't okay, he was average(like he pointed out too). I don't know what else you want to hear
Na lie you dey lie.
The commentator, Thesupernerd, the two who made comment after watching the match and my humbly self agreed that Onazi was the best player on the pitch that night.
From this list I would sieve out the following players: 1. Ibrahim Alhassan aka Muazam 2. Ifeanyi Ifeanyi 3. and Etor Daniel
We have seem them and know what they are capable of. Good players but not much expected from them.
4. Obinna Nwobodo we have seen and also believe would be a national asset if he keeps working hard.
The younger ones are where my interest would fall on now. Who ever the next coach of the Flying Eagles would be, these boys deserve a look-in:
5. Nazifi Yahaya: In my opinion next big thing since after Victor Osimhen. He was the leading striker in the ill-fated 2017 U17 team. He jst came back from South Africa where he scored 4 goals in an invitational tourney.
6. Stephen Odey: Hot MFM striker. Already in the CHAN Eagles team. Though not eligible for the next U20 but would still be eligible for the next U23. He should give players like Victor Osimhen, and Orji Okonkwo a run for their money.
7. Elijah Akanni: Never seen him play but my eyes would be on him hence-forth.
8. Otun Fawaz: Seen him a couple of times with the 3SC team. Quite good and comfortable on the ball. Blessed with great skills. I would recommend this guy to the 2019 Flying Eagles coach.
9. Adebayo Waheed: MFM is known for parading youngsters in their squad and this is one of them. Our U20 handlers should be hanging around the MFM team.
10. Alhassan Ibrahim: A younger Alhassan Ibrahim. Never seen him play. But for him to have made the Kano Pillars squad even as a 17yrs old it means he is highly talented. Another player for the next U20 handlers to have a look-in.
TheSuperNerd: You know the other day.... I reported that Kayode scored a good goal that was well celebrated in camp before today's match.
Today again the lad has scored.... I am happy seeing this and more.
I wish I could get my hands on the full match video of Nigeria vs Nigeria.... I wanna see our future Fullback in Aina and Future Forward in Maja.... at least with Maja, Tammy and possibly a solanke coming in to compete with an osimhen who should be doing well for Wolfsburg (I hope) then Our attack will be smelling hot competition again.... and Nacho will now have to compete in the SS and AMF roles or RWF role (RWF role rarely comes up as we don't play 4-3-3 yet under Rohr).
Abeg.... Super Eagles don dey make sense now.... just couple of more quality additions and what a force we will be with time....
That top 5 dream is not tall at all.... just need to work towards it.
Abeg, if you eventually get the full match of Nigeria vs Nigeria, post am here. Thanks
Good news all the way. Onyedima don pledge to play for Nigeria....
Chelsea youngster Ola Aina 'persuaded' to represent Nigeria rather than England
The Nigerian Football Federation believes it has secured the international futures of five youngsters this week
The Nigeria Football Federation believes it has persuaded England under-20 international Ola Aina to represent them as part of a number of new English-born or English-raised recruits for the Super Eagles.
Nigeria have been based in Barnet for this international break, drawing 1-1 with Senegal on Thursday evening. They were due to play Burkina Faso on Monday night but that game was cancelled when the Burkinabe players could not secure visas.
More importantly, the NFF has been inviting English-based players to train with them, to introduce them to the squad and the staff, and believes it has secured the international futures of five youngsters this week. The NFF is keen to strengthen its squad with English-based players ahead of next year’s World Cup in Russia.
Chelsea's36players out on loan
Ola Aina is the most famous name, the 20-year-old right back having made five senior appearances for Chelsea this season. Aina, who was born in south London, has represented England at under-16, u-17, u-18, u-19 and u-20 level. He won the last of his six England u-20 caps one year ago today, in an England team alongside Harry Winks and Marcus Rashford.
But Aina has been training with Nigeria in Barnet over the last few days, and has now decided that his international future lies with them. He is expected to be in the Nigeria squad for their next competitive game, a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, at home to South Africa on 9 June.
Eberechi Eze, the Queens Park Rangers 18-year-old who signed his first professional deal in January and made his debut this season has also been in training with the Nigeria squad on Sunday and Monday. He is expected to make a final decision soon as is thought to be strongly leaning towards choosing Nigeria.
Fred Onyedinma was not part of the Nigeria training camp having played for Millwall in their 1-0 defeat to Swindon Town on Saturday afternoon. But the 20-year-old, who was born in Lagos and moved to east London when he was three, is thought to be close to committing his future to Nigeria too. READ MORE
The NFF are also confident that they have secured the future of Josh Maja, the 18-year-old Sunderland forward, although he did not train with them this week, and Joe Aribo, the 20-year-old Charlton Athletic midfielder signed from Staines Town in 2015.
Recruiting players would represent a significant success for the NFF after persuading Alex Iwobi of Arsenal to play for them, after Iwobi had played for England up to Under-18s level. After the success of this week, the NFF will turn their attention to their next target, Everton winger Ademola Lookman. The 19-year-old, who played for England Under-20s against France on Saturday, was born in London to Nigerian parents but has not yet decided on his senior international future.
TheSuperNerd: We are saying the same thing basically..... in my reports post by post all put together.... na me flog Nacho pass.... I said Onazi was good before he left the pitch and even the matchdqy commentator said and I quote,"Onazi have been Nigeria's best player before Hus unfortunate injury"...
truth is Onazi was calm while others misplaced passes within the first 25 mins except Ndidi for the most parts...
I spoke about Kayode... and Hey! don't do that.. he missed a chance... wasn't his fault the ball came the way it did but a smarter striker would have tried converting that or going for it.... in all... Kayode was okay... and his ball for nacho that led to the penalty . just splendid...
And uhmmmm... Samuel Kalu have 5goals in all this season according to who scored... while Simon has 3... you got the other stats right... but plss dey reveal everything... not half and half just to make a subtly strong case for Simon...
And also... Kalu has done so in lesser time than Simon.
Both are very good... and Simon is the more experienced one but he can do better. He wasn't spectacular against Senegal. He only contributed more defensively.
Now..... I hear The Josh Maja and Aina I look forward to seeing soon did okay today... how true? because I am so glad Aina is in .... make we no dull for him switch abeg...
Same for Odubajo(he is close to coming back from. injury), Tammy (after u-20 WC), Ejaria (after u-20 WC), Lookman (after U-20 WC), onyedimma Fred, Etc.... make I stop here for now.... ((Solanke dey oooo.... before you come for my head... see him eyes... ))
ok! Let us just move on.
Besides, Samuel only scored 3 goals for Gent this season. The other two goals was scored at Trecin.
Simon Moses plays as a LWB which is similar to what Victor Moses plays for Chelsea as RWB.
Kayode missing that chance is debatable because I repeated that part 5 times inorder to ascertain the situation.
Make just dey celebrate this boys that have agreed to play for us.
Mickael2: some of us watch football in a funny way. even the best teams do not play good football every single day of the season. the difference between a great team and an average team is the ability to get something out of difficult games. we had a relatively drab game but we got something out of it, against Senegal not just any team and the fact that we came back from a goal down makes it even better. but somehow we want our boys to marvel us every single day.
zoboizee: Super Eagles regular team led by Ogenyi Onazi were held by a second-string side led by Kenneth Omeruo 1-1 in a practice match played at the Hive Stadium in London tonight.
It was a competitive game played under a good atmosphere.
Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho opened scoring in the first half for the ‘A’ team.
However, Olanrewaju Kayode drew the hopefuls level in the second half.
The main team in the all-green kits paraded the likes of goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi, Leon Balogun, William-Troost Ekong, Elderson Echiejile, Wilfred Ndidi, Oghenekaro Etebo.
The second XI, who wore white kits, lined up Shehu Abdullahi, Chiedozie Awaziem, Tyronne Ebuehi, Isaac Success, John Ogu and goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa.
Germany-based forward Noah Bazee was introduced in the second half, while Ola Aina from Chelsea played the entire game for the second team.
The match was played in place of a cancelled friendly against Burkina Faso at the same venue after the Stallions failed to secure visas for seven players to fly into the UK.
The Eagles are preparing for crucial AFCON and World Cup qualifiers later in the year.
Dedebanky85: I normally watch a game without national bias for the 2nd and 3rd times. The 1st I can be frantic and be bias. My takings ob the game are as follows:
That was one hell of a boring game on Naija's part. Even the commentator could attest to the countless inaccurate passes and crosses. If CMR catches this team, they would lambast this SE. I used to clamor for the absence of Mikel, but I think I'm beginning to have a rethink. The people's choice - Iwobi - has decided to take his SM career more serious than his footy career. For the past 2 months, Iwobi has been repeatedly playing rubbish. He should be reminded of one certain Emma Frimpong. Can't tell where that guy plays these days. I fear for Iwobi. Infact Iwobi shouldn't start against CMR, that's how widowed I am.
Iheanacho still showed his brilliant movements, but as @Forgiveness said, he was match rusty. The 6 yards miss was what Iheanacho feeds on on a regular day. I'm of the opinion he should get the hell outta Man City to save his career.
The defence can't really pass out, especially Ekong and Omeruo. In fact Troost, although a good defender, "em de select leg". Omeruo always has to float the ball rather than pick out a player with a pass. Overall, the game was not really inspiring till the last 8mins of each half.
I don't know if it's just the commentary plus video settings, but when I watched other friendlies, ours just looked like uncoordinated game of "CHOOSING".
On another note, I like the fact that Rohr called up the foreign born guys in the UK, but can SE be more respected whereby you just don't stroll into the camp at will. If Germany was to play in Weasley, would non-capped players in England just come to the German camp just to felicitate? I follow these guys on Snap and other SM, the amount of faces I see in mufty, is alarming. We can be more coordinated than what I'm seeing.
joseph1013: Hmmmm...I just finished watching the full game. Na wa o. So so underwhelming. I could not see why there was so much hype.
This is not a performance to be excited about. But I can forgive this performance because Mikel and Moses were not there.
Defence: - I have no idea what happened to Ekong and Balogun...the manner with which they misplaced passes is staggering. At times, they simply passed the ball to the opponent...a more clinical team would have buried us. We need to have strong backups. - Omeruo was disappointing to me. A pacy winger would have torn him to shreds. And that's to add to the fact that he didn't join in the attack. - Echiejile was impressive. He held his own. He should have gone forward more though. - Akpeyi: We cannot rely on this guy. I cannot remember a single cross he did not spill. All a team needs is station a player close to him to score the rebounds because he is very prone to dropping balls from crosses. I really don't know what the goalkeeper trainers are doing. At this stage, Akpeyi should not be deputizing for Carl. Conclusion:Our defence is a cause for concern. We don't have a good backup to Ikeme. And that's a big problem.
Midfield: - Onazi was average before he went off. There was an incident that caught my eye though. He pushed an opponent in retaliation. In a competitive match, some referees will give a straight red card. Professional players should know better. - Ogu played his game. No fuss. No flamboyance. Perhaps the coach told him to just stay and strictly shield, he did a yoleman's job. - Ndidi was rightly the man of the match. He was full of tackling, passes and did play a couple shots that troubled the goal keeper. - Iwobi was a flop. What did he even do right in that game? Oh, maybe the combination with Simon to free Kelechi for the tap in miss. Other than that, he did nothing. He constantly lost his balls and his passes were abysmal. No one would have predicted he plays for Arsenal. - Etebo: He played well. He came in for Iwobi and showed him how to play. Not his best game but we will take this one. Conclusion: We need Mikel. We need Aluko. We need Mikel very much and we miss him so much. No replacement in sight.
Forward: - Simon: His strongest point is that he can help out the defence. That's quite a surprise because he should be known more for his dribbles, wingplay and crosses. Those were lacking in the game. - Musa: Musa! I don't think he has a place in this team any longer. You hardly notice he was in the game. The only times he shows up, he is either making wayward crosses or disrupting flow of attack. The only thing that will make him continue this way and still get call ups is federal character. He is no longer a Super Eagles material. - Kelechi: He needs to leave Man City. It's unbelievable the goals he missed. What surprised me about his game was that the penalty called would not have been given by some refs. From my angle, he fell into the hands of the keeper. The Kelechi I know would have played that ball before the goalkeeper came out. It's difficult to understand this point unless you watch that match. He is match rusty and needs to help his career. Even the commentator could not believe he missed those chances. - Kayode: For the time he was on the pitch, he was moving. The chance they said he missed was a handball. It was not such a chance. Wished we played with Burkina Faso, it would have been a great opportunity to watch him play more minutes. He would probably be invited again. - Success: To be honest, I didn't see too much of the hype surrounding his play in this game. He galvanished the attack though and pushed the Senegalese back. I will take him over Musa from this performance. Conclusion: We need a strong competition for Kelechi. If we don't score goals, we cannot win games.
Hehehehe! Your eyes don kuku ma see am.
Dem go say I dey missyan but here is another witness.
TheSuperNerd: So na with just four matches under Rohr, we wan take fly enter Top 5 abi??
Sometimes we forget Rohr's team have only played four games. smh
Abeg.... you don't expect great things from the Super Eagles more than everybody else here. There were more positives than negatives from that game.
And Why Expect Nacho to split defenses and make through passes consistently when he was upfront?? Na wa for you ooo.... which kain argument you dey make sef??
Nacho that took some or most of our set pieces, created some chances with his sleek touches and moves but his biggest crime was failure to score from three very good chances...
I flogged Nacho for his missed chances.... abi u know see my earlier analyses abi??
I even said Kayode can be pardoned for his missed chance.... but Nacho cannot because he is expected to bury those chances.
And about readily available options for Nacho... abeg... who is the person? I wanna know because As far as I know and same with some people... I was even surprised when Sir Komekn droppdd the question, "Who else is better for now in that role than Nacho?". I think he asked this to Sir Mickael2.
Iheanacho remains our most lethal goal threat for now. His situation at City is not because of talent but because of coach's preference..... and I just can't wait for Nacho to leave
So who is the better-than-nacho option we have?
And since your eyes were only on Simon... you didn't eee Nacho and Musa at the back too abi... Nacho defending set pieces ba? or Musa running himself to the ground on that right?
You sef
And You say Samuel kalu's final ball are nothing to write home about.... abeg how many assists have Simon picked up compared to him? and how many goals have Simon scored compared to Kalu? this season oooo??
This is Kalu's first season in Belgium and he is already making impact and you wanna talk him down too because of Simon.... you sef na wa ooo.... which way naa??
Have you forgotten Simon's final ball palava also showed in that Senegal game....?
Simon is a baller and has bag of tricks but he really needs to be more multidimensional.... someone saying he is kinda predictable is not so far from the truth.
Abi is this the Simon you want us too to start for a team that wanna be top 5 in the world??
Bia Oga Forgiveness.... balance out both the positives and negatives for everyone.... don't blow one's trumpet and use another to show negatives when everyone has one.... be fair biko.
Are we not aiming for the top 5 or best in the world?
Nacho took set pieces after Simon Moses was substituted.
Nacho misplaced passes more....
Nacho is/was not comfortable playing as the striker... You can see he loves coming to the middle and wing.
Manchester City has underutilized his potentials so far.
To whom much is giving much is expected hence my unbiased and humble submission of his game.
Nacho is not a striker.
TheSuperNerd: oooppss.... published same video.... lemme drop a different one altogether.....
TheSuperNerd: Looollll.... don't mind Sir Forgiveness.....
I watched the whole game.... and I see more positives than negatives.
His analysis on iheanacho is so flawed.... Nacho was a baller in that game apart from his missed chances. In fact, it was Nacho who set up His own first missed chance... he flicked a ball cleverly to Ndidi who spread nicely to the wings for Simon moses and Nacho somehow got there on time but failed to convert.... Nacho's Skill move on the left also got us our first cornerkick.... na wa oooo.... lemme stop here abeg.... Coz Nacho had several bright moments in that game.
Sir Forgiveness' hype on Simon Moses is very funny. Simon did good but was not spectacular.... abeg... Simon was mostly confined to the left.... na from where he come play SS and AM abeg?? Simon and Musa that got some crosses wrong for all their speed and runnings... they hardly made impact. They just showed flashes of brilliance and speed here and there....
And talking about Defensive sides... yes Simon did contribute defensively but so also did Kelechi.... forgotten that dangerous cross nodded away within the first 15-20mins? who was that?
Also Musa tried defensively too... his speed helped us kinda on that right flank. He was always hassling the Senegalese. But when on the ball... Mehn... he was kinda ordinary... he needs to step up.... the Musa I know is better... far better than what I saw against Senegal.
Na wa oooo.... Sir Forgiveness... even with full video evidence, you still wanna raise some players up and put some down... it is not fair oooo.... just say it as it is... no painting abeg.
On success.... I was very impressed with Success for two reasons....
one... this is his very first game for The Super Eagles and he didn't look overwhelmed by the atmosphere.
two.... within the little time frame he had.... he showed power, skills, guts and dare.... Success became the newest menace on the pitch. He drew fouls and gave us a fighting chance. Highly rated Koulibaly couldn't cope with Success.... and someone isn't impressed?? Na wa oooo.....
Abeg... I think we have dwelt too much on this friendly.
But before I stop..... a couple of more points please...
I have to point out that Onazi was beautiful before he left the pitch.... he lost the ball just once I think but at other times, he marshalled the midfield quite good even when the Senegalese recovered (after our short foray into their half) and were pressing us within the first 25 mins... (in that time frame... about 5-8mins belongs to us.... the rest to Senegal).
Goodness me!.. did you see the way he (Onazi) turned Gueye (i think?) when under pressure from him in Nigeria's own half.... or the way he wriggled his way into keeping the passing going at one point in the first 15mins...?
Onazi did quite okay and even had two tall Senegalese midfielders on him most times.... they knew he was Nigeria's main midfield man.... Ndidi was also asserting himself.... Ndidi hardly put a foot wrong.....
But when Ogu came in.... well.... the heights and Size war in midfield became balanced... But like seriously... I will still pick Onazi over Ogu for now.... Ogu is needed when we are in possession and executing a passing/possessive game (which Onazi can do too but not better than Ogu)... But Onazi is really needed when we are under pressure and need to defend... he is calm and composed and also has 4 Lungs (Ndidi has 8.... Etebo has 20) ...
You guys need to watch that first 25mins again.... Onazi is still relevant abeg.... but he should watch his back shaa... coz When Mikel returns... I don't wanna see Ndidi out of that midfield....
Etebo, who is super versatile, is also in the picture but is primarily an AMF and SS... Iwobi may not start against Cameroun unless....... *winks*
Well.... until then... it is rohr's call after all....
On our defence.... Mehn! Echiejile is still a baller abeg.... Like Sir Forgiveness rightly said... he needs a very very good deputy.
Omeruo was Hardly ruffled too...
Leon and Troost made a couple of mistakes during the opening 25mins but soon picked up.... during that tumultuous period, Senegal rocked the inside of the post to Akpeyi's left....
And yes.. Akpeyi in as much as he may keep goal if Ikeme isn't fit for Cameroon(God forbid to that abeg).... I must confess that he was quite jittery for most parts of the game against Senegal...
But yeah... he did pull off some nice/good saves/stops.
Abeg... may Akpeyi not be a time bomb for us oooo.... Amen!!!!!!! He can be good sometimes and then atrocious sometimes.... let's pray for more of the good if we are gonna be seeing more of him in goal for us.... coz we got serious goalkeeping crisis Mehn!!!!
All in all.... We have a rising force of a team on our hands here.... Just Mikel in that team would have seen us Beat those Senegalese.... Yes... just Mikel... (Victor Moses and Ikeme could even be rested and Mikel alone added to that team is more than enough). I am darn serious.
But hey.... we still have a long way to go shaa... but the good thing is... we are really becoming hard to beat and still play some beautiful football. Our Super Eagles can only get better and better....
***To be continued....
Do you think our opponents are not aware of our positives?
They already knew about that but I think they will focus more on the negatives which are too numerous for a team aiming to be among the top 5 in the world.
Maybe the Nacho you saw is different from the one I saw in that game.
The Nacho I know can spring passes, can split defense with a through pass and can score with half a chance but he obviously lacked all these attributes notable in his game.
His confidence level has definitely gone down and is about to crash if he continues to see limited game time in Manchester City.
He needs to move out of that team else I see no need of bringing a player who is not making his team to lead the Super Eagles attack.
Nigerians will not wait for him, we have other options readily available to take his place.
This my little piece of advice also goes to any player benched on a regularly bases in his team that has nothing to do with injury or lack of form but on the bases of surplus to requirement.
Really, I am not putting him down, I am just stating the obvious and I am really angry because Guardiola wants to flush him out of the team gradually with subtlety and evil craftiness.
I am not a dummy to have seen the hand written on the wall.
His advisers should not deceive him because of the mulla dey are making from him.
I am not hyping Simon. I am only debunking the false impression that he brings nothing to the team after seeing the match.
It is here I heard he his one way traffic and predictable when attacking.
Someone even said Samuel Kalu offers a lot to Gent than him when we know Kalu has done nothing for Gent so far, while Simon Moses single handedly led the team to win the league three seasons ago.
Even this season, he is one of the most important players for Gent. He is charged with the responsibilities of Wing back, taking set pieces, defending etc over all players in Gent.
Maybe that is why he was saddled with the responsibility of taking set pieces in that match against Senegal.
The last match I saw them played Moses and Kalu doesn't know what to do with the final balls though they got skills and trickery.
What makes a player specular is how he carries out his duties well in a game and I saw Moses did that very well.
I saw him in the middle, at the back and at the center.
Where did he give the pass to Iwobi? It was a the center.
It was Iwobi a saw exchanged passes with him on the left flank several times.
I no dey raise any player, I just told you what I saw.
Let another person who watched the match carefully and without bias confirm what I said.
Joebie: It's high time we started looking at the match ups versus Cameroon. E.g Vincent Abubakar is a bully striker who can create a chance out of nothing. I think we need to worry about our defense. We will need something near world class to ensure we come out unscathed after the double header. Can our 4 man defense withstand the pressure. The second half against Senegal makes me worry. I'm not talking about the end of the game.
Really, the defense gave cause to worry. Rohr should look for a better replacement for Omeruo else his wing will be the weakling for the Cameroonians to cause damages.
I like to think Aina is there because he stays around as opposed to those who may have to travel from their residence. It's like expecting someone who plays in Kano to drop by a training in Lagos. A lot of logistics are involved, I doubt Aina sleeps at the hotel with them unless he dey follow Iwobi share bed
The transportation system in UK can't be compared with Nigeria.
