Well, It depends on the individual. If you have five big meats in ya soup, you will not wait until you finish eating. I remember my parents(mother) will eat small swallow(eba, fufu, semo etc) but eats more than 3-5 meats. Dem go con give me one small meat and when I ask why, she told me meat dey make pikin steal. |

I mean, it isn't as if Aluko is setting the league on fire either. The dude can barely get playing time at Fulham
O pari No! I no be em agent ooo. Besides, Aluko has raked in more goals and assist than all our attackers. He has scored 6 goals with 9 assist playing from the wings and he was named the player of the month. While Victor Moses, Simon Moses, Isaac Success, Alex Iwobi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Ahmed Musa have not ...... Only Noah Joel has assisted 6 times with a goal. |

komekn: This substantiats my stand that Rohr and his team have not done thier homework on the availability of Nigerian origin players in the UK. He is way too German /Dutch biased.
When we have to go to Okrika market to find a player from a pub team that is shocking. I gave the name of the Nigerian origin reserve team goal keeper for Burnley FC. To avoid the overwhelming embarrassment. It is one of those their antics to keep their players in the team. Once they know their player will not be available, they invite weak players who they know can be discarded at anything without any one raising an eyebrow. |

Icon4s: Hahaha you see yourself?
I was only citing a case or cases where a coach openly stated his preference for his own kind of players.
Why u claim u didn't come across any such statements keeps me wondering
Pple who really followed Nigerian football between 2002 and 2004 would easily relate to what I said. Icon4s: Recall his comment when asked abt y he took Adepoju(hu was virtually called back frm retirement) and Opabunmi to the 2002 WC when it was obvious they were nt good enough at that time to make d team.Remember he dropped Finidi George, Sunday Oliseh, Tijani Babangida and Victor Ikpeba. The Nigerian press tagged him a tribalist nt jst bc he picked Opabunmi and Adepoju ahead of the above mentioned Golden generation Eagles bt bc of the ethnocentric reason behind his decision. It was d Ibadan connection though Onigbinde is from Modakeke bt was based in Ibadan jst like Adepoju and Opabunmi.
U remember what he said when appointed Shooting stars coach for the 2003/2004 season? He said he wanted to build a 3SC team that will comprise only of the Yoruba players. 3SC managed to escape relegation that season and Onigbinde was fired . Have u noticed he is d last Yoruba to coach d Super Eagles.
Although i still respect that man a lot. U know he laid d foundation for the rise of Gambian football. I see, na Onigbide made that @bolded ststement ba. Out of the abundance of the heart......breeze don blow fowl yanch don show.... Na ya heart b dat. |

Icon4s: So Alloy Agu inviting Tope Okeowo na nepotism.
Thank God say there is no ...chukwu in Tope's name. Else we for no hear word this evening.
His name is Tope and so it is no longer nepotism but arrangee.
No worry, kontinue. Hehehehe! Trying to justify evil. Ikechuckwu Ezenwa does not deserve to be called to the national team. You may call it arrangee, nepotism etcetera. Na still d same kwurruption. Besides. Can you remember who said these? Na you na. Icon4s: What? Opabunmi better than Akwuegbu? Opabunmi that had jst graduated from d U17 & was still at 3SC waiting for his European offers to click. Benedict Akwuegbu a graduate of the 1989 Eaglets, verstly experienced, and featured prominently at 2000 & 2002 AFCONs. Yakubu hu could also had been chosen ahead of Opabunmi was a peoduct of the 2000 Olympics, He was then playing at Macabi Haifa of Isreal and scored a hat-trick in that 4-0 demolision of Sudan enroute qualification for that 2002 WC. Most football analysts then disnt understand y Opabunmi was taken ahead of Ayegbeni. The simple answer from Onigbinde was " he is my boy".
Opabunmi's talent then was nt even any where near Victor Osimhen's talent of today.
I dnt want to drag this argument further cos this is an U23 thread. Go back in time, it is nt too long ago to remember, there were question marks as per d inclusion of Adepoju and Opabunmi in dat 2002 WC list.
As per Onigbinde's ethnocentric comment after joining 3SC I am very sure of what i am talking abt. It was even a subject of discuss in of d sports show then.I cannot give u links on that comment bc d internet was nt as widely used then as today. So probably nt documented.
2002 is jst like yesterday to me. If i can vu vividly remember sporting events of 1984 -87 what is 2002? Jst like yesterday. Hehehehe! See the person pointing fingers. https://www.nairaland.com/1952331/all-news-olympic-eagles-u-23/151

I shock !!! infact I am shocked with high voltage.
Are you telling me that in the whole of Englands league system we do not have one Nigerian origin goalkeeper
I know Africans don't like to be keepers but this is crazy we pick somebody from almost Sunday pub football. Please this cannot be happening to go and play against Senegal.
I haven't looked in depth I admit.
But I think a reserve goalkeeper from the premiership should be better than somebody playing pub part-time football.
In case they don't know there is, Tony Aghayere he is the U23 goalkeeper for Burnley FC.
I really expected the NFF to do more in terms of finding better options. Or is this a case of arrangements taking place because I am completely perplexed. And that is just from memory I am certain there are others but this is the first one that comes to mind. Na arrangeee na. |

I am suspecting somebody doesn't want Aluko in the National team. It is becoming a mafia thing. Ikechukwu Ezenwa has been an outstanding goalie in the NPFL for a couple of seasons. Mustapha Aliko keeping more clean sheets doesn't mean he is better than Ezenwa. By your argument na make Rohr invite Aliko na abi?
