SharpJoe: What was the role giving to John Ogu? The point is simple. We played better when John Ogu came on because of his off the ball movements to the ball to link up play. Onazi did not do this well and that is why our link ups were bad. Substitution in game could be change of game plan. Rohr testified that he thought of either bringing in Etebo or Ogu for Onazi. If you go by off the ball movement, you need to remember that Onazi played in the Seria A where much emphasis is made on movement. We played better doesn't mean we played badly. Which links up where bad? When was the chances wasted, was when Onazi was there or when Ogu came in? |

SharpJoe: We are talking of this game and the point Mickael2 made. It is a clear point and you are dribbling with play very well. We played better as a team when Ogu came on. Mickael2 explained the precise reason why the team played better because of his mobile movement to the ball when we were in possession.
Saying Onazi played well means you are missing the basics of the point he is making. Onazi's style of movement off the ball broke passing channels. Oga, what was the role given to Onazi? |

Akpeyi takes 95% of thr blame for that goal but the other 5% I give to the whole defence....
Moussa Sow was left all alone to have some sandwich and wash it down with a soda before converting that loose ball into the goal.... the awareness of our defence for that moment was poor. Akpeyi is disaster in waiting. He and Ikechuwu Ezenwa are not needed in the National team. Enyeama will come back after we qualify for the world cup. |

SharpJoe: Come on. Mickael2's point is crystal clear. He pointed out that Onazi's off the ball movement when we had the ball was poor which led to our team not having a fluid build up play. He also pointed out that this was what John Ogu did that got the team playing better which was noted by lots of pundits and followers.
He even went as far as pointing at Modric's style of play which paints a clear picture.
Mickael2 made a brilliant point to which we should note and we hope the technical crew points it out too. This is not my first time of watching both Ogu and Onazi play for either National team or their clubs idea and I can authoritatively tell you that Onazi is three in one. The point Michael2 is trying to make will not sell because we have seen Onazi played very well as a CMF. We don't know the instructions given to him in that match, so we can't give a sane judgment about his game. Besides, it was not Onazi's fault if players can't control and retain a ball before giving a good pass. Habi, na only Onazi dey for field? He argued that Modric doesn't tackle, I disagree with that because he does that very well. This is just a game out of many. John Ogu was there when Italy dominated the Midfield in a friendly. Ain't you aware? |

TheSuperNerd: Sir Forgiveness..... we are on the same page.
And yes I didn't even state that It was Kayode who got a pass from Ndidi (I think?) who beautifully sprung a pass into Nacho's path for Nacho to chase and eventually used his quick feet to draw the foul from the Senegalese gk....
This is part of why I said Kayode did great.... within the limited time he featured, I was very impressed with Kayode. He should be invited for the Cameron game. He has the ginger and energy to cause mayhem.
And yes oooo.... I saw the match but from different angles.... it was really hard getting to see the whole game shaa.
And Yes within the first 20-25 mins, Leon and Troost were so unsettled.... Iwobi was giving the ball away but also grew into the game with some flashes occasionally but eventually struggled to keep up with the physical pace and nature of the game.
Onazi was our biggest fighter alongside Ndidi in that tumultuous period and he did hold sway until his unfortunate injury.... (heard he is back though).
Onazi was not overran but he wasnt finding it easy...... He did his very best and fought like the seal that he is for us... but when Ogu entered the fray, Kouyate and Gueye and even Ndoye now had a 1.92m Man mountain to contend with alongside Ndidi (1.82m).. Onazi is only about 1.73m or so...... a workaholic but couldn't just match the aerial physical prowess of the Senegalese.... Ogu and Ndidi combined their build and heights to turn the tables on the Senegalese...
Omeruo and Echiejile.... you are absolutely right.... these two added nothing to the attack... they hardly ventured forward but did their defensive duties pretty well.
And yes the person you saw showing skilss and being audacious on the ball was Iheanacho.... he did flunk about two very good chances which didn't even hit the target and also wasted a few more good moves from Iwobi, Musa and Simon when those three did step up occasionally but we can take nothing from nacho... his arrogance and dare on the ball and his ability to mix it in with Koulibaly and co shows he has grown in his adaptability to the physical aspects of the game based on his slim build... it is a good thing he got the height too.... he is about 1.83m tall or so...
Nacho was one of the players who still tried to make things happen but he did blow a lot of chances.... quite unusual of him as he is a known clinical finisher ..... hopes he redeems himself for the team in that aspect.
Success was a Beast when he came on.... he outshined even Iheanacho himself.... only Ndidi did better for the whole team alongside John Ogu but Success was like a super force.... I pray he stays fit coz he is a sure weapon for our cameroun games.
And like I said, Kayode added verve and energy to that attack.... his pass to nacho was beautiful... Success also was very influential but that was when he moved to the wings. Initially, he joined Nacho upfront playing off him kinda... or just behind him before shortly switching to the right side of attack....
So Sir Forgiveness.... we are on the same page okay....
and loollll.... who wan "bring em down"?
Abeg.... my hands no follow for that one.... loolll

Mickael2: I actually thought you were trying to make sense but it seems like you are just joking.
Modric makes tough tackles? Maybe you should start watching Madrid matches more often. In fact, Iniesta makes more tough tackles than Modric, that should paint the picture for you.
In football, it is the job of the CMF to make himself available for a simple pass because everybody else on the upside of the pitch will be marked. That's why sometimes you will see Modric run all the way from wherever he is to the DMF position to take the ball straight from the casemiro, that's what we mean by making yourself available. But Onazi was more mobile when we lost the ball than when we were with the ball, that's not a proper CMF.
And I know that he was deployed as the CMF because of Ndidi's position relative to his own. Ndidi was making himself available for the two CBs but Onazi wasn't even there. I know the tough tackles that he was putting in impressed you, they impressed me too, however he failed as a CMF in that game. Everybody saw that See me see turobulu ooooooo. You mean Modric doesn't tackle? After Chelsea, my team in Spain is Real Madrid. So, I do see dem play regularly. Abeg, who has seen Real Madrid play here and can confirm that Modric tackles wella? Is Onazi the one that made Ahmed Musa to give wayward crosses? Is Onazi.... Abeg, let me conclude that Onazi suppose to teach the players how to control and pass the ball. |

Mickael2: Oga, you did not watch the match simple and short. If you did, then you didn't understand what was going on. Onazi was the CMF so it was his duty to make himself available for a simple pass from the DMF and the CBs but he was running away from the passes, making himself unavailable, he wanted to chase the ball rather than keep possession of the ball, that was why everybody was misplacing passes because the CMF who was supposed to make them all gel was poor, or let me say he thought he was still the DMF. When Ogu came in what did he do? He didn't do any extraordinary thing, he just made himself available whenever a nigerian player had the ball. I understand the fact that you may have been blinded by the fact that he was the one making all the tough tackles but which top notch CMF still plays like that? Do you see Iniesta or Kroos or Modric or...just about any CMF playing like that? That is not how a CMF works. Had it been that Onazi was deployed to play as a DMF in that game then we can all agree that he was doing his work as a destroyer, but he was meant to be the CMF, the glue in the middle and he failed. . Hahahaha! Na you get my eyes wey you take no say I no watch the match? How come ya report come take different from the report rating the players? So, Onazi is the one to teach the players how to control and pass the ball, ba!? How do you know what he was supposed to do when you are not among the coaching crew? Abi na you gi-am instructions? Is he the only on the pitch to make himself available for passes? You mean the Modric of Madrid that I know don't make tough tackles?!? Almost all the players struggled to settle down in the first 30 minutes of the match but you are here pinpointing only one player. It is certainly certain that you don't like the guy. |

TheSuperNerd: I don't know what you mean by fake but Iwobi struggled against Senegal... even though he had a one or two flashes of brilliance.
Simon too was not so impactful (even though he made a few runs and dribbles).
Kayode did good within the limited time he featured. He wasn't poor naa... did I report him as poor? no naa.... apart from his missed sitter (Iheanacho even missed more chances), He did great in attack with limited time.
And thanks ooooo..... "Market" well.... market is fine.... Did you see the match? I watched the first half though not really clear but I can tell you those who fumbled. Leon Balogun was obviously the culprit at the beginning of the match though he he picked up latter in the game. Ekong was also making horrible mistakes with lack of precision in his tackles though he also improved latter in the game. Omeruo and Elderson added nothing to the attacks, they were just defending well. We need wing backs that can defend well and are adventurous to join the attacks. Some where too blind to see that Onazi controlled the midfield but was surrounded by players given away the ball easily. Some people even claimed the Senegalese overran the Midfield when Onazi was involved for 20 minutes. That was a fat lie na. It was obvious the Senegalese had a game plan to score earlier and embark on counter attack. They wanted to avoid us scoring first because they knew we will kill them on the counter. I couldn't see the attackers game because the angle of the recording was from our defense though I saw somebody dribbling and showing skills on the right flank. I suspected the person to be Iheanacho. However, from the official analyses of the ratings, I think Iwobi and Simon did very but Iheanacho fumbled with the ball. They should have gotten 2-4 assists if Iheanacho had buried the ball into the net but he fumbled big time and made it look as if Iwobi, Simon and Ahmed didn't do their duties well. They did but Iheanacho was the culprit who wasted numerous chances.... People had already started criticizing Kayode for missing a goal but turned blind eyes to Iheanacho who fumbled with most chances but are satisfied because he caused the penalty and went ahead to score. Who set Iheanacho the chance to go one on one with the keeper? From that report Iheanacho couldn't had done anything without Kayode winning the ball from the midfield and setting Iheanacho free. It was not even Success that gave the pass though Success was largely influential in the game. I was not scrutinizing your report na but I made that fake statement based on some evil and bring em down report from..... I know say you no dey sell market na. I just dey great na. |

Eagles, Lions battle to score draw in power game
https://www.thenff.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Screen-Shot-2017-03-24-at-1.31.04-AM.png
Nigeria and Senegal played out a 1-1 draw in what was a brilliant advertisement of Africa’s renowned power game at The Hive in London on Thursday night.
2017 Africa Cup of Nations quarter finalists Senegal started hard and fast, hoping to browbeat the Super Eagles and get an early goal, but they encountered a Nigerian squad that refused to be intimidated and was ready to give as much as it received on the night.
Kelechi Iheanacho won the first corner kick after a good dribble run, but at the other end, Adama Mbengue and Idrissa Gueye combined brilliantly to rattle the Eagles’ defence, the latter’s header striking the upright with Daniel Akpeyi stranded.
From then, Gueye, Cheikh Kouyate, Opa Nguette, Cheikh Ndoye and Moussa Wague all combined to make Nigeria sweat, but the Eagles would have gone in front on the quarter hour mark after a delightful touch by Iheanacho freed Iwobi to set up Moses Simon, whose shot was charged down.
Nine minutes later, injury forced captain Ogenyi Onazi to exit the game, making way for the big John Ogu, who matched the Senegalese in size in the middle and somewhat provided food for thought for the Lions.
Akpeyi tipped over a goal –bound free kick by Senegal in the 27th minute, and five minutes later, Ahmed Musa forfeited an opportunity for Nigeria to go into the lead after wasting a glorious Ndidi, Ogu and Iheanacho onslaught.
In the 36th minute, Iheanacho streamed past the Lions’ defence, only to drag his shot too wide, and three minutes later, Akpeyi had to stretch full length to stop a fierce drive by Ndoye. Just before recess, Iheanacho missed narrowly at the end of a clever move by Iwobi and Moses Simon.
Senegal, who reached the 2002 FIFA World Cup quarter -finals, started the second half like a house on fire, winning a number of free kicks in the Eagles area. In the 54th minute, Moussa Sow profited from a poor punch of the ball by Akpeyi to blast the Lions into the lead.
Seconds later, Akpeyi had to be alert to palm away another fierce shot from the rampaging Lions, and Nguette came close again in the 58th minute. But the tenor of the game changed on the hour mark, after Nigeria brought in Oghenekaro Etebo for Iwobi and Moses Simon made way for Isaac Success.
Nigeria’s man-of-the-match Ndidi rattled Abdoulaye Diallo in the 62nd minute, and 15 minutes later, the former junior international’s clever pass enabled Success to cause anxiety in the Senegal box.
Four minutes later, Nigeria, who had won nine of 20 previous encounters with Senegal, were on level terms. Olanrewaju Kayode, who came in for Ahmed Musa in the 75th minute, burst into space to intercept the ball from the Senegalese, and then centred for Iheanacho, who drove past his marker but was brought down by Diallo. The Manchester City forward picked himself up to score from the spot.
Meanwhile, central defenders Leon Balogun and William Ekong paid close attention to Liverpool ace Sadio Mane, who came in as a substitute for the Lions late in the second half.
The Eagles effectively took over after the equalizer, and could have won when, two minutes into added time, the nimble –footed Ndidi cleverly won the ball on the left wing and found Iheanacho, whose shot narrowly skimmed away from goal.
On Monday, the Super Eagles, unbeaten since losing a Cup of Nations qualifying match to Egypt in Alexandria on 29th March 2016, will take on Burkina Faso’s Etalons at the same venue.

Exclusive : Chelsea Whizkid Aina Considers Representing Nigeria After Talks With Rohr On Thursday Published: March 23, 2017 Exclusive : Chelsea Whizkid Aina Considers Representing Nigeria After Talks With Rohr On Thursday Chelsea wonderkid Ola Aina is seriously considering playing for the Nigerian national team ahead of his country of birth, England, allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report. London Borough of Southwark-born visited the Super Eagles Crowne Plaza Hotel camp on Thursday evening and held high-level talks with manager Gernot Rohr over the possibility of representing Nigeria. At this stage, Aina has not given Rohr a definite answer but his dad, who accompanied him, has assured the coach his son’s international future lies with the Super Eagles and not the Three Lions. The 20-year-old right fullback has represented England at U16, U17, U18, U19 and U20 level, but has not been called up to England youth teams in the last one year or so. Arsenal attacking midfielder Alex Iwobi and Chelsea star Victor Moses represented the Young Lions before switching their allegiance to Nigeria, and Aina might follow suit soon.
