Toeyean1507: Maybe people voted with thier LASSRA number.
They had better not institute another lockdown. Instead LASG to enforce the use of standard nose mask, ✋ gloves and use of hand sanitiser. They are there talking nonsense about another lockdown. The government is clueless on what to do. They have no plan hence lock down. Other counties are opening , Lagos is contemplating lock down. Any plan to further lock down will fail. I pray God gives them sense to take a proactive step in their fight. |

Hotfreeze: I hope the developers of Lagos take this chance very seriously.
Online polls are the closest they can get to participating in Lagos politics since they got a few seats in Lagos in 2015 and used 2015 to 2019 to insult their helpers.
This government should put in more efforts in testing and tracing. They are more committed to lockdown than testing. Let them start looking for how to test at least 5 Million. Do u think they have the capacity? You cannot give what you don't have. |

Granted morbidity is often for those with underlying issues, one cannot rule out its devastation for a large number of people.
Italy with one of the highest level of medicare had tens of thousands dying, even if majority were elderly.
On the flip side, Sweden with a high number of Somali refugees has begun to witness very high numbers in that demography A large number of people with underlying illnesses. Most people in the world do not have underlying sickness and most people in the world are not old. The focus shld be on the 2 vulnerable categories of people not on the rest of us |

I don't have anything to discuss with you on Allaah! You lack the idea of what the Almighty should be like. Your. own God can drink tea with Adeboye. Angels/Satan/Spirit can meet Him and they can relate since they are of the same essence. Your spirit God created Satan, Angel in Spirit with the same make up of himself. Bye on this. Your response lacks critical reasoning. Its you that lack the understanding of how God should be. Who are you to tell of what God can and cannot do. If you a human dictates for him on what is and is not does this not contradict the concept of being almighty? Note there angels and satan etc are spirits cos u can't see them. God is also a spirit cos you can't see him. Being a spirit is a state of existence same as bring physical. The state does not define the person. I hope you can logically analyse what i have stated. Pastor adeboye can talk of himself and God that's him what i talk to you about are things from the bible |

Jesus was later forced to heal the woman but it is apparent he was not sent to her! Why are you running to the mods. Tell me what lie i have said about your prophet. You know it's embarrassing when you hear the truth from you own books about your prophet. Of course no one was perfect in the bible except Jesus. We do not base our salvation on samson or Moses but on Jesus the perfect sacrifice. You expect cos someone was mentioned in the bible he should be pure etc, you forget they were all human with flaws. Abraham was a liar, Moses a murderer, David a murderer and adulterer, but God had to move through people to ensure the birth of Jesus. Jesus came in via Mary but the seed in Mary was not from any of the men listed above. It was divine. About the verse you quoted, you can't force Jesus, its impossible. Always tell the full story not cherry picking. In the whole passage there was nothing about anyone forcing Jesus. Jesus in John 3 vs 16 talks of the world. And there is also a theory of adoption i will explain whn i am chanced. |

I have said nothing about paul's words being in contradiction to that of Jesus. That exercise or attempt at such can wait till another thread. That said, I believe we are safe to focus solely on the foundational teachings of Christ and Christ alone since His truth should suffice in all things. Or don't you think so? Kobojunkie: May I suggest you look in to the gospels to learn for yourself. A hint for you.. start from Matthew 5. It goes on for at least up to Chapter 13. That not all of Jesus's words were written, does not mean that His commands were not sufficiently covered in what is written.
Peter, and the rest obviously did not write down all they had learnt from Jesus. None of the disciples mentioned Paul by name in their epistles, so I would be careful to assume the teaching they acknowledged was in fact Paul's teachings.
Any teaching that stands in contrast with what Christ taught ought to be tossed out, isn't that so? Peterl talked about Paul 2 Peter 3 vs 15. What did paul say that contradicts Jesus? |

Farki: Like I said if you fall victim don't complain. Most of the leading causes of death in both Africa and the West are preventable and treatable.
COVID-19 is also preventable but we are fighting the same preventive measures. It's like someone insisting that they should drink from a gutter regardless of if they get cholera.
Countries more advanced than Nigeria tried to downplay the issue and now they have changed their tone after realising how serious it was. It's now the same Nigeria that you complain about 24/7 that you expect to be fine. Its a fact that some people are immune to the virus. The virus mainly kills people with underlying conditions and old people. These are the people the focus should be on. Most healthy people get well. Sweden did not lock down and the morality rate is no different than their neighbors. Most of the deaths in Sweden are from old peoples' homes. Nigeria shld stop copying other countries and choose the solution that works best for her. Lock down is not a solution. Its just a way of postponing the inevitable. Learn to live with the virus and keep the healthy ones working while you focus on the old and vulnerable. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Faith Or Works! by fortran12: 9:49pm On May 13, 2020 |
Kobojunkie: My issue is mainly with the origin of the teachings that drive the belief. Are those teachings of Christ or doctrines created by men for the furthering of their ideals, their traditions and rules? According to the Bible, the location of the "house of God" does matter. I mean the one and only building proclaimed the "house of God", existed in Jerusalem and it is suggested that at the very end, the building will go up again the same location. As for his church, Christ never mentioned buildings as his church. His teachings pointed to the heart of man being were He and His Father would come in and make their home. So? Moving God online, a decision thanks to coronavirus, does not now correct ages old issues in teachings that formed the belief to begin with. How can they go back to the original message when much of the fundamental doctrines the protestant movement adheres to were put forth by those who hijacked Christianity after the death of the disciples? Did you know that Jesus came with a new religion for man, and He put forth 49 commands(My yoke is light...) for those who believe him(if you love me, you will keep my commandments) in the new covenant that he brung with him? How many of those 49 commandments do you know of? And how many of the many Churchians today are even aware of this? What is your source for Jesus words? |

Farki: Rent will pass, coffins are permanent. Since Nigerians have refused to obey the conditions for easing the lockdown we have 2 options;
- open the state completely and accept that many people are going to die.
- lockdown until a vaccine or cure is found or the disease stops spreading.
If we could simply obey then we wouldn't have to make the above choices. If we choose number one nobody who falls victim should complain. Its mortality rate is too low that many will die. Do u know other things kill more than corona? How come there has not beem lock down over those diseases? The media is presenting a mole hill as a mountain to you. |

KingKingKing: You are damn funny, Did you just say use facemasks? Don't you go out on the streets to see how non compliant Lagosians are? A lot of people do not value their lives thereby putting the lives of those who value their lives at risk!
The only language Nigerians understand is "Force" we gotta learn the hard way , we have sworn to be defiant and non compliant then we have to be locked up once again so as to protect those who are vulnerable from getting infected !
You also talk about the economy! Awww what a kind way to show how much you love the economy, ECONOMY MY FOOT! T The economy u love so much is being manhandled by the ruling elits who plunder and loot from the proceeds of the economy, while the poor man on the street is left to die!
My parting words to you seun DO NOT WORRY SO MUCH ABOUT THE ECONOMY BECAUSE WHEN THE ECONOMY GOES DOWN , GOVERNMENT KNOWS HOW TO REVIVE THE ECONOMY, WORRY ABOUT YOUR LIFE AND THE LIVES OF THOSE YOU LOVE BECAUSE WHEN THEY ARE LOST, GOVERNMENT HAS GOT NO CLUE ON HOW TO REVIVE THEM.
A HEALTHY LIFE IS A HEALTHY ECONOMY! You cannot lock down healthy people. The more you keep ppl at home they weaker their immunity is. And once you release them they go out and get sick. Let the sick stay home and the healthy go and work. The virus has a low mortality rate. Other countries are restarting their economies, you are asking Nigerians to stay home and do what? Wait until a miracle drops from heaven? Over 90 percent of people who get the virus get better and they become immune to it. Dont let the media deceive you that it's a death sentence |

I don't like the lockdown idea but if it is to correct the stubbornness of people, Lagos should enforce it with immediate effect. Lock down is not the solution. It is a fact that lock down alone does not work. All they need to do is to build structures that will enforce social distancing etc. How many hand sanitizing stations did they build? How many face masks or shields did they distribute? Are they making sure that companies that are open ( banks)are complying with the safety regulations? |
