The Believers Share Their Possessions 32 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. 33 With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all 34 that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales 35 and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need. - Acts 4:32-35 |
Post has been removed again, and Id spamboted, any reasons? |
That's what happens when you rely on Wikipedia for facts, you end up making a 'monkey' out of yourself. I really despair for the Nigerian educational system, do they still teach research methods ![]() |
Hi Moderators, spamboted again ![]() Kindly un-ban frosbel and post his latest article which promises to be a best seller ![]() |
christemmbassey: @Frosbel, is christianity a religion? If ur answer is yes, then you can go on with this wild goose chase, but if ur answer is no, then the OP has a real chance of learning what Christianity is by rephraming his questions. Something tells me that the OP really want to know the truth which certainly will be impossible with this wrong assumptions. If you read my comment a few posts back, I clearly stated that Christianity is not a religion. |
plappville: If Jesus want us to know he was the God of the univers, He would have said it. It wasn't difficult for him to say he was the son of God. Because thats what he is. Anyone adding to this, ma him sabi. The way am seeing things. It looks like, when you reject the trinity , you becomes a SDA OR JWS. This is a wrong way to think. There secrets behind this doctrine. Na so i talk my own reach oo..this debate no go ever get ending. The institutionalized Babylon church and their mother ( you know who ) has a tendency to paint anyone who does not agree with them as a cult. But , when we revisit the definition of cult, they are actually the cult members, worshiping MEN and assisting them with the building of their kingdoms. Hypocrites, all of them !! |
brokoto: ^^^well, if you cannot stop your thread from derailment by cult members, we might as well stop this discussion, I have no time to waste. |
thank God for the research you made concerning the 40,000 false doctrines in the Church, that means we really have alot to do...not only to save the unsaved thereby bringing men to the knowledge of the TRUTH but also correct errors that has crept into the Church by the sleight deceitful cunning of these 40,000 false prophets( I hope you remember elijah and the prophets of baal).Point of correction, 40,000 plus denominations, the false teachers and doctrines are almost triple that number ![]() |

helpee: Nigerians will never see the issue as it is. If u are blaming the doctors and the hospital, this problem will always occur and it can be anybody. Private hospitals don't just wake up to start collecting deposits. I have operated several people without deposit and they will never pay afterwards. The only time u can get money is when the issue is still hot...the moment u finish treating them, they will not pay and if you don't allow them to go they will call u wicked. For ur information, I started my hospital with a bank loan, I pay exhorbitant fees from lawma to nepa to ministry not to talk of staff, drugs, equpments, consumables. I have patients yet I was accumulating debts cos I don't collect deposit. Medicine is not charity. It cost a lot of money to save lives. Ask people that travel abroad for medicare, they pay in millions. We only get to hear of cases like this once it has happened but the ones the doctor did without collecting deposit and who eventually didn't pay none of u will hear. Until nigerians start to be reasonable and faithful, if I know that after treating you you will pay my bills why won't I do so? Assuming this hospital treated that woman without deposit and she still ends up dying, they may not pay again. So who bear the cost of the money spent. As long as nigerians assume that health is charity and doctors should work for free we will continue to travel out before we get good medicareYou are still not getting the point. The point is not about general treatment but a matter of life and death. In ALL cases , when a life is under threat of destruction, it is the doctor's responsibility to save that life, because that life is irreplaceable and in many cases could actually be the sole bread winner not just for the immediate family but the extended. Like I said , to hammer the point home, a life MUST be saved whenever the opportunity arises. |
musKeeto: Now you think my views are shaped by atheistic beliefs? Lol, you're a running comedy. You are clearly on the wrong side in this particular instance. |
musKeeto: The Frosdevil that I know. Anyone who isn't with u is automatically a devil.Mate, I have a conscience unlike you and your atheist cohorts. |
coogar: you are ptyalising nonsense, my friend!don't mind the 'devils' . |
12 inches!:Private or no Private a Doctor's first responsibility is to SAVE LIFE , any Doctor who does otherwise should be sacked and his license revoked. Besides , we are not talking about normal treatment which accounts for almost 80% of a private clinic's revenue, we are talking about those peculiar cases where a split decision is required to save not just one life but as in this case two lives. Two souls 'killed' because of 20,000N , if this sounds like good judgement to you , you are part of the problem. |
Litmus: May she RIP, but sad to say this sort of thing happened in Britain, when a pregnant Nigerian woman was denied life saving treatment because she overstayed her permit. Also in Ireland and Asian woman was denied life saving Abortion because of religion.Yes it happened in the UK and Ireland in a few small cases , especially because these were not citizens but visitors , though this is no excuse, but the press and citizens of these countries went on a rampage with criticism of this poor behaviour which we trust will not happen again. Problem is, in Nigeria this type of behaviour is considered as BAU ( Business as usual ). |
This colour-coded map reveals the startling difference in life expectancies across 222 of the world's countries. The map shows how people are likely to live the longest in developed countries with state-funded healthcare systems like Japan, Canada and the UK, which each have average life expectancies of over 80 years. The tiny tax haven of Monaco - with its notoriously wealthy inhabitants and compulsory state-funded health service - has the highest life expectancy at an average of 89.68 years, five years higher than anywhere else on earth, according to the CIA World Factbook. The country with the worst life expectancy is the African state of Chad at a shocking 48.69 years. Life expectancy in America ranks 51st in the CIA's table at 78.49 years - lower than Canada (81.48), Australia (81.90), New Zealand (80.71), Japan (83.91), the UK (80.17) and much of Europe. https://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2012/11/30/article-2240855-164836DA000005DC-187_964x541.jpg How long will you live? This colour coded map shows the life expectancy in 222 of the world's nations. Nations shaded dark blue are those where people are expected to live to over 80, and they include most of the developed countries which have compulsory state-funded healthcare like the most of the countries of Western Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Israel, Jordan and Japan. With the exception of Afghanistan, the countries with the lowest life expectancies are all in sub-Saharan Africa. Inhabitants of Afghanistan, Swaziland, South Africa, Guinea-Bissau and Chad are not expected to reach 50 Of the top five longest-living nations the only large country is Japan, with the rest being city states (see box). Life expectancy levels in South America and generally 10 years lower than those in North America. People are likely to live the shortest in sub-Saharan Africa, with no country in that vast region having an average life expectancy of over 60. Only a few Asian countries, including Afghanistan (49.72) and a couple of Caribbean nations, have such similarly short life expectancies compared with Africa. The worst countries to live in if you want to reach old age are Afghanistan (49.72), Swaziland (49.42), South Africa (49.41) Guinea-Bissau (49.11) and Chad (48.69), whose people are generally expected to die before they even reach middle age. he map, created by io9.com, shows the average life expectancy for both men and women. The CIA's individual breakdown confirms that women on average live longer than men. Life expectancy for a woman in Monaco is 93.77 years compared with that of a man at 85.74 years. In Chad life expectancy for men is only 47.61 years while women are expected to live slightly longer to 49.82 years. American men live 76.05 years on average while women in the United States live to 81.05 years. In the United Kingdom the life expectancy of men is 78.05 years while it is 82.4 years for women. While the United States has consistently fallen in the rank of world nations over the last 50 years, the average life expectancy has risen from 69.8 years in 1960 to 78.49 today. And while Chad's figure of 48.69 today is shockingly low, in 1960 Afghanistan had the world's lowest life expectancy at 31.3 years. https://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2012/11/30/article-2240855-1649D0F2000005DC-604_964x689.jpg http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2240855/How-does-nation-rank-world-map-life-expectancy.html |

OLAADEGBU: Let the Bible speak by itself. Let us revisit Micah 5:2 again. You rely too much on the interpretations of others, let us use our own anointing to decipher scripture. Going forth means coming from or come out from as in ORIGIN. Origin , Origin and Origin. The WORD originated from the Father from GOD. GOD is the Origin. |
OLAADEGBU: You mean he left the tri-une God,God is not a triune God, he is ONE. "Who has done this and carried it through, calling forth the generations from the beginning? I, the LORD--with the first of them and with the last--I am he." - Isaiah 41:4 "Deuteronomy 32:39 "See now that I myself am He! There is no god besides me. I put to death and I bring to life, I have wounded and I will heal, and no one can deliver out of my hand." What do the words I and HE mean in your opinion ? Does it mean a 3 god God or one GOD the belief in the existence of hell fireApart from the ONE verse in the whole bible about the parable of the rich man who by the way had no name , show me 2 to 3 more verses from the old to new testaments where there is mention of hell after death. and the immortality of his soulI will show you 4 verses of scripture where man is described as mortal, can you also show me 4 verses that describe man as immortal. "Can a mortal be more righteous than God? Can a man be more pure than his Maker?" - Job 4:17 "I, even I, am he who comforts you. Who are you that you fear mortal men, the sons of men, who are but grass" - Isaiah 51:12 "Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal ; his days will be a hundred and twenty years." - Genesis 6:3 "In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?" - Psalm 56:4 that he is no longer rapturableShow me where rapture is used in the bible. Also show me in the bible where there is a silent second coming of Jesus . |
OLAADEGBU: Consider the biblical verses below:I am done arguing with you on this matter. You hold on to your doctrine , God knows those who are his. This is what happens when one holds on to the church creeds more that the word of GOD. |
OLAADEGBU: Would it not be better to be disappointed that hell doesn't exist than to be shocked that it exists when it's too late? The gospel of Jesus is not HELL !!! The gospel of Jesus is not FEAR !!! The gospel of Jesus is the good news about the kingdom of GOD. You can read my latest article at my blog on the true gospel of Christ. Jesus Christ came to invite us into this new kingdom through repentance from our sins and denying ourselves in this temporary life , to help win more converts into the kingdom of GOD. "He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." - Mark 16:15 Yes the lake of fire is real but it is for the eradication of all evil from this planet, it is not the will of God that anyone should perish. Your false gospel of fear will get us nowhere. |
OLAADEGBU: I asked you to tell us who was speaking in the passage I quoted and you went on a tangent totally evading the kweshun. Here is the passage again, tell us who you think was speaking there:You ignored my own question , but I will humbly answer yours. Let us start with verse 4 and 5a : 4 John,To the seven churches in the province of Asia:Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits[a] before his throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. 1. Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come 2. and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead Here we see a clear distinction made by John between our beloved Father who is, and who was, and who is to come and Jesus Christ our Lord faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead Now let us moved to verse 5b to 7b "To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, 6 and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever ! Amen.7 “Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see him, even those who pierced him”; " 1. Him who loved us and has freed us from our sins by his blood - This obviously refers to Lord Jesus 2. made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever Here again we see a clear distinction between Father God Almighty and Lord Jesus Christ. God is even called the God of our Lord Jesus. Finally to your point your verse quoted is not referring to Christ Jesus but Almighty GOD. Compare 4a to 8a. 8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” Please read the bible with your lenses and not that of deeper life. Blessings. |
As I was thinking about writing a new post on my blog today, a thought flashed through my mind. The thought was Throw away religion and follow Jesus Too many a time, religion has been the invention of Man and his own method of achieving salvation. When we think of Cain and his personal method for approaching God , we receive a warning that like Abel we must always look to God for direction and not to ourselves or others for that matter. Let us use a simple example : A man has a number of sheep and feeds them with fresh pasture, protects them, guides them and heals their wounds. The Sheep have come to know his voice and the warmth associated with it , they learn to trust him and follow him as a true leader. In this scenario everything goes well . "He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young " -Isaiah 40:11 "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep." - John 10:11 One day this good Shepherd embarks on a journey and puts his sheep under the care of a hired hand. This shepherd writes a book of instructions on how he wants the sheep to be looked after. But the hired hand could careless, he's in it for the money and what he can get out of the business. He starves the sheep from eating fresh grass, if a wolf attacks the sheep he cannot be bothered because his own life is dear to him, he is lazy and screams and shouts his own commandments at the sheep, intimidates them and eventually scatters them. "The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it." - John 10:12 "The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep." - John 10:13 Lesson : This is what happens to us as Christians who are the sheep of Christ's pasture when we follow men ( hired hands ) and not Christ. They may be in it for the money, could be infiltrators or worse still false prophets who lead us away from Christ to destruction. They do not feed us with fresh pasture ( sound doctrine ) and even when they quote the words of scripture it is often misqoted and twisted to suit their agenda. Many of these hired hands have made a name for themselves and are like gods in their congregations and beyond. They are considered infallible like the pope and must be obeyed or else ! Gentle ? Don't make me laugh , some even slap and whip their members who fall out of line , others milk the sheep to death , others abuse them sexually and yet many more feed them with half-truths and poisons. Solution : Throw away religion, throw away their creeds and follow JESUS . Stop following MEN . Some advice : 1. Remember we are the sheep of his pasture and not the sheep of men's pasture. "For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. " - Psalm 95:7 "Then we your people, the sheep of your pasture, will praise you forever; from generation to generation we will recount your praise." - Psalm 79:13 2. Know and hear his voice "To day if ye will hear his voice" - Psalm 95:7b "Hear, O my people, and I will warn you--if you would but listen to me, O Israel! - Psalm 81:8 "As has just been said: "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion." -Hebrews 3:15 "My sheep listen to my voice; " - John 10:27 3. Follow Jesus and not MEN "I know them, and they follow me" - John 10:27 "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." -Matthew 4:19 "At once they left their nets and followed him" - Matthew 4:19 4. Obey his voice "If you love me, you will obey what I command." "Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him." - John 14:21 "This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome" - 1 John 5:3 5. Enjoy his fresh pasture not creeds and strange doctrines This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your forefathers ate manna and died, but he who feeds on this bread will live forever." -John 6:58 "Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" - Matthew 4:4 Be blessed. |

In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet" (Dan. 9:2.) The above verse should be read and re-read by Protestants and Catholics alike, for what we see here is how one of the Bible's most respected prophets, when in dire straits, didn't go to his priest, king or even fellow man, but to the written word of God, for help and answers. If only Rome and apostate Protestantism did likewise, than perhaps the Inquisition and Reformation may have been avoided. Rome's stance on the inspired word of God: "It is not from Sacred Scripture alone that the [Catholic] Church draws her certainty about everything which has been revealed. Both Sacred Tradition and Sacred Scripture are to be accepted and venerated with the same sense of loyalty and reverence." While compiling this article, I was in an e-mail correspondence with an Australian Catholic professor of Asian languages, who regrettably was under the false impression that Catholic apologists had rather successfully refuted Sola Scriptura. He also went on to tell me that the doctrine of Sola Scriptura was a 16th century one. While it is true that the Reformers did take a firm and bold stand for the re-implementation of Sola Scriptura, in their defence however, all they were doing were returning to the early churches position on this, something that had since become completely lost and confused. The early church leaders believed and taught Sola Scriptura. One was Irenaeus, who amazingly wrote a letter titled Against Heresy. This was written because of the dangerous and pagan Gnostics, who falsely claimed that they had extra Biblical authority/tradition, other than what the Church had. Irenaeus would go on to successfully refute the Gnostics' claim, that not only were they and they alone able and capable of interpreting Scripture, but that the Bible was not sufficient for all areas of doctrine. Yet, incredibly, centuries later, this argument was now reversed with Rome replacing the Gnostics and Bible believing Christians replacing Irenaeus! Other church leaders, which clearly and distinctly affirmed Sola Scriptura, were Tertullian, Cyril of Jerusalem and St. Patrick who, through their letters, went out of their way, to uphold Scripture as their final and ultimate authority! Tragically, the Catholic church gives the Bible mere lip service: "There is no evidence that Christ ever told His disciples to write books, or promised them His help in doing so...so far as we can learn from the pages of the New Testament, the Apostles did not leave any list of inspired writings, and, except in one solitary instance, they never once even allude to the fact that there were any inspired writings at all, except those of old" (A Catholic Dictionary, St. John's Seminary, Wonersh, p. 168.) Yet the same church, that quickly shatters all faith of apostolic authority in Holy Scripture, will fight tooth and nail when it comes to their favourite passages. Try telling a Catholic, for example, that Matthew 16:18 isn't apostolic or John 20:23. Tell them that we can't be sure whether Matthew actually got the words of the Lord right, or perhaps this whole chapter isn't found in the best manuscripts. Watch them, all of a sudden, become Catholic fundamentalists who believe the whole Bible to be God breathed (Matt. 15:8.) Imagine having a conversation with a church leader in Corinth or Galatia, say the early second century. After the pleasantries are finished, you are told that one must keep the Jewish feasts and even have your son's circumcised. You obviously object to this, only to be told that this leader once knew Paul and Peter and as a faithful disciple has "apostolic authority." With the Apostles now dead, how on earth would you be expected to know if he was telling you the truth or not? Without the word of God, one is totally blind to the truth of God's will. Because Catholics like to cite church "fathers" as being "apostolic" and "successes" to the Apostles, and elevate their writings to be on par with Scripture, this leads to major problems and subsequent heresies. To avoid this, we must always examine church councils, papal encyclicals and the church "fathers" in light of Scripture, never the other way around. The Bible is inspired and preserved. We can trust it totally. Paul commended the Bereans in Acts for examining him and what he said in light of Scripture. The Bible makes the following statements concerning itself and its total sufficiency for the man of God: "I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name" (Ps. 138:2.) "This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true" (John 21:24.) "Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God" (Acts 20:26.) "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works" (2 Tim. 3:16, 17.) "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book" (Rev. 22:18.) So it should be obvious by now, that God takes His word very seriously and will punish those that try and undermine ones confidence in it. Conclusion The following quote came from Cardinal Joseph Suenens, who said the following in 1974, while attending a charismatic ecumenical convention in Chicago, and this is what Catholics have been trying to get some of our less educated Christian friends to do, for centuries now: "Fly as high as you want with Mary for one wing and Peter as the other [typical, no mention of Jesus.] The trouble with you [that those of us that still believe the Bible] is that you are in bondage [that's rich, coming from a priest] to the Bible." http://www.excatholicsforchrist.com/articles.php?PageURL=solascriptura.htm |
gent paris: what does this mean Jesus is Co-equal with father? Are you saying Jesus is another God besides Yahweh? That not very monotheismIn purpose and will , they are co-equal. However in essence or personality they are not. God is greater than Jesus as Jesus said , My Father is greater than I. Jesus Christ totally accepted the will of God throughout his entire life, in other words his will was swallowed up with the will of GOD. He expressed the mind of GOD exactly as GOD meant it to be. |
aletheia: Perhaps in Frosbel's personal bible version. . .the Holy Spirit is different from God. . .hence his confusion.God is Spirit, and those who worship him will do so in spirit and truth. God poured out HIS Spirit on the day of pentecost and it is this power from on high that anointed his disciples to preach the word and perform miraculous wonders. Calvinists? How ironic. What a Pharisee and hypocrite your are. You are quick to attach labels to people and yet your displays and temperament is exactly like that of Calvin. . .arrogant, intolerant and convinced that he alone has the right of the matter. You are a true descendant of your father John Calvin. But I do not hold unto the tenets of Calvin, while you do. For example eternal hell, and the immortal soul , once saved forever saved. These are not my beliefs. As Jesus said to some like you Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.The Power of God is his Spirit. The same spirit that actuates you Frosbel the spiritual son of Calvin. You must be up to one of your numerous jokes. Protest ![]() Nay 'ol boy. Apparently I hit a little too close to home with these comments:I have no doubts. God is one as my Lord and Saviour rightly said. "The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one." - Mark 12:29 So tell me High Priest aletheia , you say GOD is ONE. Father God = 1 Jesus Christ = 1 Holy Spirit = 1 1+1+1 = 3 ![]() But according to our resident professor, 1+1+1 = 1 But how can this be, seeing that God is ONE but yet 3 . American Wonder if you ask me ![]() Look here: Go and exorcise your doubts through diligent Bible study and Prayer and stop coming here to lead astray the brethren. You mean protect them from false teachers and prophets , who would rather expound tradition than scripture. Colossians 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ. Au contraire, monsieur. You and I are far from done. Will be seeing you around.I am here as always , ready to take headon false teachers, so your wish is my pleasure. ![]() |
Ihedinobi: For instance, histories of the Church, to say nothing of the Bible, hold that the "doctrine" of the Trinity is older than the Roman Catholic Church. And where exactly ? Who coined the term Trinity , when and where. I mean why are we trying to interject meanings into the inerrant word of God which is made plain for all to know by God's wisdom. As another instance, is all tradition wrong? Tradition is that which holds true no matter the age or era in which it is found. In other words, tradition is principle."And so you cancel the word of God in order to hand down your own tradition. And this is only one example among many others." - Mark 7:13 What matters is scripture not tradition , this is my opinion. Therefore, it will not change. Expressions of it might, but not its essence. True tradition is not a respecter of time, person or political correctness. Does that remind you of anything or anyone?Tradition is precisely the reason we are in this mess today. A concoction of tradition handed down through the ages has caused immense confusion in the body of Christ. Are you glad with this state of affairs where we have over 30,000 denominations not to talk of ministries with most contradicting each other. Mark 7:8 You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to the traditions of men." Mark 7:9 And he said to them: "You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions! Mark 7:13 Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that Colossians 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ. |
