First, you should be prepared to work longer hours than other employees especially when your boss requires it.

Discretion in paramont in this role. You will be privileged to classified information by virtue of your position.

During your interview be calm, polite and straight to the point. In my experience, MD's like people who can communicate clearly and quickly. Make your point, give relevant examples and stop.

Emphasise that your ethicaland moral standards and integrity when you are asked about your strengths and weaknesses.

Be sure you are competent with Microsoft Office tools and outlook. (Excel and Word are about to be your new best friends)

Make it clear that you are willing to work flexible hours and travel when required.

To show that you are interested in the job and your career, ask them what your typical day as an assistant will be like? Ask your scope of work and find out about your career progression withing the organisation. (Unless you want to be a PA forever)

Don't bring up salary talk until they do. When they do? Ask them what the previous person in that role was earning. They will play on your lack of experience so highlight your strengths and negotiate careful. But act like it isn't all about the money. Act like you are more interested in the oppourtunity to support and contribute to the success of the management team.

Finally, remember to pray for Guidance and Favour. That His Will be done.

To add to what u said, i think the OP shld dwell more on his confidence level...Be Bold...and expect the unexpected...also, try not to mumble on your words when speaking...be audible. If its a 3-man-intvw-pannel or more and they re all throwing questions @ u, give a precise answer to the ones u know of first b4 d other...and let them smell that level of confidence from the words u emit...

Another useful tip is SMILe... , PRAY and carry out little research online about the company and the post.... i.e. Google out "..job description of a Personal Assistant in a (construction,marketing,telecom,hospitality, etc) company.

ROSWELL, N.M.: An Austrian daredevil lept into the stratosphere on Sunday 14/10/2012 from a balloon flying 24 miles (38 km) above the planet in an attempt to break the sound barrier.
Cheers broke out as Felix Baumgartner , 43, jumped from a tiny shelf outside the 11-by-8-foot (3.3-by-2.4 metre) fiberglass and acrylic capsule that was carried to 128,000 feet by an enormous balloon.
"We love you Felix!" screamed the crowdas he plunged through the stratosphere.
"My visor is fogging up," he gasped over the radio and he fell through the air moments before his parachute opened to the applause of the crowd on the ground, including his teary-eyed mother, father and girlfriend, watching on monitors miles below.
He landed about 10 minutes later, having broken the world record for the highest altitude jump by a skydiver, sponsors said.
As he prepared to jump from the pressurized capsule, Baumgartner went through a checklist of 40 items with project adviser Joe Kittinger, holder of a 19-mile high altitude parachute jump record that Baumgartner hopes to smash.
He checked through an equipment list from his seat and expressed concern that his astronaut-like helmet was not heating properly.
"This is very serious, Joe," said Baumgartner as the capsule, designed toremain at 55 degrees Fahrenheit ascended in skies where temperatures were expected to plunge below -91.8 F (-67.8 C), according to the project's website. "Sometimes it's getting foggy when I exhale. ... I do not feel heat."
Baumgartner's ascent into the stratosphere took about 2 1/2 hours.
The 30 million-cubic-foot (850,000-cubic-metre) plastic balloon, is about one-tenth the thickness of a Ziploc bag, or roughly as thin as a dry cleaner bag.

Mission control erupted in cheers as Mr. Baumgartner made a near-perfect jump from the capsule hoisted aloft by a giant helium-filled balloon to an altitude of 39,044 meters, even higher than expected.

“I think 20 tonnes have fallen from my shoulders. I prepared for this for seven years,” Mr. Baumgartner told German-language ServusTV in Austria, in his first interview after the leap.

Referring to a helmet problem that nearly forced him to abort at the last minute, Mr. Baumgartner said: “Even on a day like this when you start so well, then there’s a little glitch.

”And you think you’ll have to abort -- what if you’ve prepared everything and it fails on a visor problem. But I finally decided to jump. And it was the right decision.“

Shortly before jumping, in footage beamed live around the world -- on a crackly radio link recalling Neil Armstrong’s first words on the Moon -- he had said: ”Sometimes you have [go] up really high to [realize] how small you are.“

The Austrian took more than two hours to get up to the jump altitude. Mr. Baumgartner had already broken one record, before he even jumped: the previous highest altitude for a manned balloon flight was 34,667 metres, set in 1961.

Mr. Baumgartner had been due to jump from 36,576 metres, but the balloon went higher than expected, to more than 38 kilometres.

One of the first people to congratulate him was Austrian President Heinz Fischer.

”I warmly congratulate Felix Baumgartner on this great success, which was achieved with courage and perseverance and is finding worldwide attention. Austria is proud of your accomplishment,“ he wrote on his Facebook page.

The Red Bull Stratos mission wasthe second attempt for the skydiver after an initial bid Tuesday was aborted at the last minute due to winds.

The biggest risk Baumgartner faced was spinning out of control, which could have exerted g-force and made him lose consciousness. A controlled dive from the capsule was essential, putting him in a head-down position to increase speed.

More gruesomely, the skydiver’s blood could have boiled if there were the slightest tear or crack in his pressurized spacesuit-like outfit, due to instant depressurization at the extreme altitude.

Temperatures of -68C could also have had unpredictable consequences if his suit somehow failed.

The leap went off flawlessly, though there was a minor problem as the capsule ascended: a heater failed on Mr. Baumgartner’s helmet faceplate, meaning it was becoming fogged up when he exhaled.

After considering the options, Mr. Baumgartner and his entourage decided to go ahead with the jump.

Mr. Baumgartner’s 100-strong backup team includes retired U.S. Air Force colonel Joe Kittinger, who had held one of the records the Austrian was trying to break: the highest freefall jump, which Mr. Kittingermade from 31,333 metres in 1960.

”Let the guardian angel take care of you,“ Mr. Kittinger told Mr. Baumgartner shortly before he jumped into the void.

The giant balloon -- which holds 859,000 cubic meters of helium --is needed to carry the Red Bull Stratos capsule of nearly 1.3 tonsto the stratosphere.

It is made of near transparent polyethylene strips even thinner than a dry cleaner bag, which are heat-sealed together. Very thin material is necessary to saveweight.

The skydiver has been training for five years for the jump. He holds several previous records, notably with spectacular BASE jumps from the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur and the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Speaking before the launch, Mr. Baumgartner said he would be proud to be the first person to break the speed of sound in freefall.

”But really, I know that part of this entire experience will help make the next pressure suit saferfor space tourists and aviators,“ the jumper said.

His launch coincided with the 65th anniversary of American pilot Chuck Yeager breaking the speed of sound.
