It is most unfortunate the position taken by Rochas...it Just shows that hé is more than desprate....

When he was contesting for Governor against Ikedi Ohakim ..i was in Imo State ..Rochas started driving this Keke Marwa..saying hé is for the people n down throdden....they should vote for him as Governor...which the people did...People slept at Inec Office then at Owerri demanding the release of the Governorship result then...

How have things change!!!!!! Hé now wants to force his Son Inlaw on the People of Imo State...it would not work..

Rochas has become à HARAM...Imo State is not Rochas Family Foundation...but for the Imo People!!!!

The primaries done is a done deal.. .hé should either accept it or leave the party with his members of Rochas Foundation Politicians.... !!!Politicians are always Politicians...

but let's face fact what the woman did was wrong...she did not inform the husband of her acts of putting the title documents in her name solely...which is wrong...she has to obey her husband ...what she did would be viewed as Suspect...I.e she had a hidden agenda...that is how her husba
nd sees it...so she has to obey the husband first by changing same to his name first...then they and their family sits later to know wat to do...because the interest of the children must be Paramount in how the property would go....or better still it can be put in the children's name...

It is astonishing the ideology and mind set some persons profess in their commentary.. some persons have brought out various cases decided by the Law Courts that the Ijaws don't have those lands they all edge to have in Edo State....I believe that in civilize societies where they are dispute concerning lands the place to go is the law Courts which the Binis went and won...
if the Ijaws have a superior historical facts of the land in questions ans different reference materials from different writers both foreign and indeginious that would aid their case in Court....for them to have won the land....
Mind you to get lands you do not need violence it is only lawless n animals that use the barrel of the gun to claim lands...
Even while we were small n being educated we knew the persons the white man .et on ground and the Kings who resisted them in their lands n territory... king Jaja of Opobo, the Oba of Benin, Nana of Itsekiris and others...
With all due respect to the Ijaws I did not hear of one Ijaw King or Pere meeting the white man or resisting their occupation... these are facts....even when I was in the University... Nigeria People's n Culture being taught I did not here of one Pere resisting the British...
so the issue of who is a prostitute in a tribe or Ogogoro drinker or who stays ontop of water does not come in issue here..we should face facts....

Kirigidi:

Get us the copy of the judgement you mentioned first.

Hmmm...Kirigidi I told you that you should Google it...it is online...no need going to a lawyer's office to check for it..both cases are Supreme Court cases...it is on internet page now so Google it n get educated...

See I know u know the truth...but u are being petty... Which is unfortunate.. U seem to me to be a tribal racist...pardon my use of word... But I can't help it...you saw what princemikky001 posted it seems u are so pained but..why..we all should live together.

Apart from the Olodi Oki and Ighogbadu having possessory rights of 210 acres of land in Itsekiri area so also Ugbolokoso who are itsekiris have land in Uvwie in Effurun in Urhobo areas..
In okpe area you have Itsekiri communities n enclaves there you have Aja-guiyibo,Aja -gbodudu,. N others ...was the founder of Aja-guiyibo nit maternally from Aghalokpe?..and Parternally a Prince being a son of the Olu Akengbuwa.Olu of Warri (1795-1848)..

Majority of Urhobos and Itsekiris marry together...I ask u how many Urhobos do not have Itsekiri blood runing thru their veins n how many Itsekiris do not have Urhobo blood in them?...was Did Okumagba not give Itsekiri names to his children? Late Okumagba himself speaks fluent Itsekiri mind you...so wat is the fuss about now...

Please be matured n stop ur hatred..it will serve you no good...Thanks.

Kirigidi:

Go read the DAILY POST Newspapers of January 19, 2017. You will see the article written by even an Ijaw Group by name WARRI IJAW PEACE MONITORING GROUP [WIPMG] under the leadership of Chief Patrick Bigha. The Olu's palace in Warri was built on lease-held land. The land was privately owned and was leased to Mr. Wilson Gbesimi Emiko, who was in 1936 crowned as Ginuwa 11 with the appellation "Olu of Itsekiri".[Council of Ijaw Associations Abroad, Press Release No. 3, August 1, 1999, pp. 5. www.waado.org/urhobo_folks/archives/conferences/first_annual_conference/conference matters/millenium_session/whoOwmsWarri.html]. The lease was also an issue in the Consent Judgement in Warri High Court in Suit No. W/28/65. The lack of free land on which to build the Olu's palace in Warri metropolis has been used by both Urhobo and Ijaws as proves that the Olu, like many other Itsekiri who migrated to the area, are not natives of Warri. Do you know that as late as 1920s the Itsekiris have no reigning Olu as their kingdom had collapsed in the early 19th Century even before British colonial rule? It was only on the 7th of January 1936 that Mr. Gbesimi Emiko was crowned Ginuwa 11 and as "Olu of Itsekiri". After the coronation the Itsekiris repeatedly requested the British colonial government between the 1930s and 1940s to change the title of their king from "Olu of Itsekiri" to "Olu of Warri" but it was rejected following objections from Urhobo and Ijaw natives of Warri [War. Prof., File W. P. 86, Vol. 1, See H. F. Marshall, Acting Secretary to the Senior Resident, Western Provinces, Warri Province, No. 1132-343 of 9 October 1944, Cited by Obaro Ikime, Niger Delta Rivalry, pp. 269]. It was only when the British granted political autonomy to the regions that Obafemi Awolowo been Premier of Western Region approved the change of the title from Olu of Itsekiri to Olu of Warri in May 1952. Consequently, the Olu was moved from his ancestral home and cultural headquarters to Warri [pp. 270 Citing C. S. O.26/2 File 11857/S.I, Annual Report, Delta Province, 1952]. On land ownership and authority of the Olu in Warri, there were court declarations in the suit between Idundun & others[the Olu of Warri and CO] versus the Okumagba Family of Okere-Urhobo held in Warri High Court, Suit No. W/48/68 and later in the Supreme Court, Suit No. SC. 309/74 which clearly pronounced that the Olu does not have jurisdiction over all parts of Warri. Ruling in favor of the Okumagba Family against the Olu, the Supreme Court stated, inter alias: "The Olu by title is Olu of Warri, but his rights of over-lordship relates only to the lands of the Itsekiri..". The judgement was given to upheld an appeal in 1972.

I asked for you to show me documents in that regard for sale of the land where the Olu palace is located in warri by Okumagba...but you are talking of Olu of Itsekiri and Olu of warri...these are two different things.... Where is the document? Where is the proof?
Let me educate you a little..first of all...Prince Gbesimi Emiko became Olu of Warri called Erejuwa II ...after Ginuwa II Prince Ikebuwa Emiko...who was Olu of warri installed in1936..joined his ancestors of Kings...so Gbesimi Emiko was not Ginuwa II

In the colonial days there was a regent/administrator in the Warri kingdom mind you in the person of Chief Dore Numa..There were warrant chiefs appointed by the British Colonial government... Chief Dore Numa(head), Chief Ogbe Yonwuren, Mr Eyube..who died and later replace by Chief Egbe Yonwuren in 1901..

Also note that Dore Numa,Ogbe and Egbe were all royal bloodline descendant of Olu Akengbuwa who ruled from 1795-1848..as Olu of Warri and they were still custodians of the Lands in Warri... So even though there was an interregnum for over 80yrs when there was no king it never stopped the rights of the Olu of Warri. you should be aware of the cases Ometan .v. Dore Numa..1920s reported in (1934) 11NLR 18, Chief Sam Warri Esi .v. Chief Secretary of the Federation of Nigeria, Itsekiri communal land Trust(1973) 11SC 189 in 1930s all cases which involve the Agbarah,Igbudu n others which went to the supreme court...n the Overlordship rights of the Olu of Warri was asserted..

Mind you in the case of Chief Dore Numa .v. Olue in 1921...which is a case mentioned in the Urhobo Historical Society..which case was before the coronation of the Olu of Warri in 1936...the title of the Olu of Warri was emphasized in that judgment of the Supreme Court of Nigeria..as per Justice A.F Webber delivered on November 26, 1921...in the terms of settlement filed as Consent Judgment it is stated therein "He is the Olu or King of Warri"

I can get the copy of the judgment for you to be educated....u can also google it...

so pls get me the document where Okumagba sold the land where the Olu's palace is let me be educated too...
Or
Please hold ur peace...and don't mis-inform lovely people in this platform....!!!

You are such a dumb to even know that the land where the Olu built his palace was purcahsed from the Okumagba Family of Okere-Urhobo during Colonial time the land documents are there up til date. Where in the world do you ses a king buy land from his tenants to build his palace?

Pls @ kirigidi....pls show us the documents or post it here the documents which the Olu of Warri bought land where the palace of the Olu of warri is? from okumagba family..
Pls I want to be educated...further because the only land Okumagba has possessory right in warri is 210acres they won in the supreme court..and it was Olodi, Oki and ighogbadu family that has the possessory right not only Okumagba in that case.

So please show us the document where a King Olu of Warri bought land from his subject..pls I want to know n see the documents... Not jus beer parlour rumor and talk...

Wat Aisha Buhari did is a disgrace...castigating ur husband outside n people give her kudos for that ?
So shall people who support this would suffer the same faith with their wives...so you can feel wat Buhari felt..

If she had reservations about the Cabinet of Buhari this is wat she sh have discussed with her husband in indoors not on pages of newspapers or BBC commentary... To me this is nothing more than betrayal of a wife...

In the US When Bill clinton had an affair with Monica Lewinsky in the white house did hillary Clinton started castigating her husband in news outlet?

If my wife does something like that?..things cannot remain the same dats for sure...my opinion.

Peolple don't understand issues... The arrest of the judges were valid...how do you want them arrested if not by storming there place with a warrant... Or you want to just serve them with a police invitation letter so dat they would have time to starsh their loot in time before they go to the station?
Or so that they can hurriedly file a fundamental human Rights matter in court restraining the police from arresting them? And for them to escape justice while other ordinary Nigerians are being sent to prisons by these corrupt elements?

For me Buhari has done well in his crusade against corruption...

I have asked a question of which none of you have deemed it fit to answer. Leave out that influenced Supreme Court judgment and face reality, the word Warri is derived from an Ijaw word "Wari". I have asked that they should tell us the meaning of the word Warri in their language.

@ Dami bukola the word Warri is a corrupted version of Iwerre..this names have metamorphose into the name Warri...during the interaction of the whites and the Itsekiris during trades and other activities the word Iwerre could not be spelt under the native sense but was spelt in the English sense or any person who came to those parts like the dutch, Portuguese, and the Americans ..all had their pronouciation to same it was stated far back in 1705 as Awyri in the Map of Ginuea originally written in Dutch by William Bosman Who was chief factor in the castle of St. George d' Elmina. Which same was reprinted in 1907 by Sir Alfred jones KCMG in a book which object was showing the Merchants in those days n what was done 200 years ago by enterprising people of those days.

The name Iwere was also pronouced as AWERI Also the map of the NEGRO LAND in1747 sourced from the US Library of Congress the names have been pronouced that way because the Colonial people has their different pronouciations..the same place of whether Aweri or Awyri was located in the same place on the several maps..this name was in turn corrupted to Warri...at no time was it ever called WARI or any other ijaw word in colonial records or during trades with the merchants in those days..we are all learning ...so i believe you and the said Jeevyww sh. Educate me...the

the issue came up again in The 50s...whether the word Warri has been a torn in people flesh.. Well the Sierra leonians would say WARRI WORRIES well i will leave you with what Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe wrote in the African Pilot 14th May 1940 and the Daily Times of February 7 1953.. (ASSIGNMENT FOR YOU) Finally, The word WARRI is an anglicized form of IWERRE.

Hmmmm you say "influenced supreme court judgements" are you being serious?... See hw u gave out yourself my humble ijaw man..are we to say every disappointment is a blessing in this case? An Itsekiri man has not risen to be a supreme court justice but many ijaws have risen to that position.. So who would influence if you talk about judgement being influence?.. It was not Itsekiris who gave the judgement in colonial times n in recent times they were british Lords who had impeccable characters devoid of malice and what about the judgement in the Supreme Court also, were they the justices not Nigerians from different part of the country even including your people ijaws? Not knowing the parties in the case?

@ damibukola the history of Itsekiri put out by jevvyww is maliciously n fatally incorrect n wrong that is why i put the history of Ijaws in issue..read his words clearly in his post were he said Itsekiris are visitors to warri.he has to put facts on ground on that point, taking cognisance of the supreme courts decisions in Itsekiris favour..OMETAN .V. DORE NUMAN(1934], CHIEF SAM WARRI ESI .V. OLU OF WARRI GINUWA II and the ownership claim of warri by ogbe ijoh( ijaws) against the Olu of warri/Itsekiri in 1956 which Ogbe-ijoh lost in 9th july 1964 which also went to the supreme court.
Politics / Re: Itsekiris Are Planning To Attack Ijaw Communities - Warri Group by fred06: 10:36am On Aug 30, 2016
@ jevvyww..hmmm you really studied the Itsekiris history very well n the way your ideology goes you are an ijaw man..you quoted all books on the Itsekiri history but you never stated anything on Ijaw history? Sure you should have a history and we will want to be educated on that..
Because the Ijaws came from some where or is it that they were created by God in this area? Or was there a garden of Eden in this area that was not recorded n different from the one in the Bible?

Mind you i know the coming of Prince Ginuwa in 1470s but there were already settlers in warri division before the coming of Prince Ginuwa in 1470s you had the Omadino people who migrated from Oyo empire, you had the illajes who migrated from Coastal planes from the western Empire of Oyo n others you had the Ugborodo people , inorin people, irigbo people, the Okere people who are the descendants of Ekpende the Bini dreaded Warrior who migrated from benin. if you stayed in warri the statute of the Ekpenede (Ekpen) was built then for all to see..you have the Odion community in warri who was founded by Ogisi a warrior chief from the Benin Kingdom which predated the coming of Prince Ginuwa..
During the coming of Prince Ginuwa the first Olu of Warri all communities then in the warri division n beyond pledge allegiance to the king those settlers in the Warri area knowing from where they came from initially that he was a prince and the King's son n their customs being somewhat similar, pledge loyalty to him and so it has been the people having one custom, one King and one tribe..
From your statement of calling OGIAME given to him by his father clearly shows that his father predicted that his son would be king.. So was it till present and till this morning.
So mind you there were early settlers in the Warri division before prince Ginuwa came..

I should also educate you that in those days when there was no phones, televisions or camera or computer, people used diarys, journals to record events and interactions they had with people ..so did the Portuguese and the British did it and it is in their achives in museum n Library in spain, Portugal n Britain of interactions they had with the Itsekiris and even the Nana of Itsekiri fighting with the British imperialist n later exiled like that of King jaja of Opobo of the Eastern region then..Am sure you studied that in your school days..

Where is the recorded events the whites had with the ijaws? Were the ijaws not in the coastal region as you Cliam? What resistance did they do against the whites?

My dear n brother go and check your history well before throwing up vituperations against another tribe..as it was convienent for you to read another ones history leaving yours...
Let peace reign in warri n delta..
Politics / Re: Itsekiris Are Planning To Attack Ijaw Communities - Warri Group by fred06: 8:49am On Aug 30, 2016
There is no attack by the Itsekiri on the ijaws this is another propaganda put up by the ijaws n their militants to stir up sentiments to attack the Itsekiris.. The Itsekiris have always been a peace loving people just like the yorubas n other tribes if there are disputes they as civilized persons take same through the law courts which is the government... They do not carry arms against the government n start killing soldiers just like their counter parts..The issue if ownership of warri has been settled since in a case in 1934...

Politics / Re: OPC To Give Protective Service In Ijegun by fred06: 10:00am On Jul 31, 2016
HungerBAD:
I mean, this is a good move by the OPC.

The plan of the OPC is to protect, and not destroy their land. The Militants in the Niger Delta, are destroying their own lands, and his is why i support this move by the OPC.

So let us talk about these militants.

The Militants in the West are a product of two worlds. They are from Ondo State, which is in the West. But, they are the Ijaws and the Itsekiri from Ondo State, and these guys are not Yoruba's, but pure Niger Deltans, who by accident of wrongful map drawing, find themselves in the Western part of Nigeria.

A typical example is Oritsefemi the Musician, who is an Itsekiri, but from Ondo State.

So, we can safely say the militants hitting the Western part of Nigeria are actually Westerners, and so the OPC should be ready to fight against their own brothers.

Lastly, kudos goes to the Nigerian Military for the flushing out, bombing and killing of these militants.

Eventhough we applaud the military in its fight against the Militants... There is something that should be cleared...the ITSEKIRIS ARE NOT MILITANTS...they do not blow up pipeslines and kill military men of the Nigerian state.. N pollute or destroy their habitat ..eventhough the Itsekiris people streches up to Ondo state n its environs they are Peace loving people under the overlordship of their one true king the Olu of Warri....we all know who the militants are but they are definitely not Itsekiris..

So what is the point of being with Igbos in 'one Nigeria' if they are killers? Or do you prople love being with killers?

It is not the issue about being killers but it is for you to know about the truth of what happened... And that there was no need for the Igbos to ho to war fighting for biafra...wen Nnamdi Azikiwe was the president of the country at that time..they still went ahead with a coup..killing others but living theirs...to every reasonable person wat do you want him to think?
It is for you to know that it was the Igbos who were selfish maybe the military officers..we do not know but what we know that there was something fishin about the coup were their own people were left unharmed...
The igbos of the younger generation should know the truth instead of the false ideology of biafra..when the whole quagmire started with them the igbo military officers in 1966. Because it was not the Northern military officers who toppled the democratic govt in 1966..
I will provide a video clip of major kaduna Nzeogwu's comment after the coup while he was in kaduna..for u to know that even his officers under him who were northerners never knew what they were to do..

Really? And so when the North were killing Igbos in the Kano massacre of 1945, the Jos riots of 1953, long before the coup of January 1966? It then means that Igbos were justified to kill them back. But in this is the important question Igbos have been asking for a long time. Since it is now know that we have been killing each other since Lugard brought us together, what is the point of being together. That's one question non of the Northern apologists have never been able to answer

Was Akintola a Northerner? Was Chief Festus Okotie Eboh a northerner? But you people slaughtered them..in an Igbo coup...was Okpara n Zik touched during the coup? Who are you fooling?
Did Aguiyi ironsi not cover the coup plotters? With his henchman Nzeogwu...

Faguyi was part of the first coup. Though Ironsi wasn't, his apparent shielding of the coup plotters was his waterloo. Those who participated in subsequent coups in Nigeria were summarily shot according to military tradition no matter which part of the country they came from. If anyone can understand Chimamanda Adichie, it's obvious that the problems of Nigeria started when the Igbos wanted everything.

Truly, the northerners were fostering corruption at the time but who taught them corruption? Okotie Eboh remains the architect of all corrupt practices in the Nigerian system. The only thing the northerners wanted was power. Southerners were making all the money and amassing industries. The January 1966 coup was one mistake too many.

I don't think that wound healed with Ironsi's death. I don't think it will ever heal. Nigeria will continue to thrive in corruption and suspicion until it's peoples divide and form their separate nations.
Hw is Chief festus okotie-Eboh the architect of corruption in Nigeria? What evidence do you have of that? Or of corrupt practices of him?
You seat down in the comfort of your room n type rubbish..Was Chief okotie-Eboh not the owner of the biggest rubber factory in the Mid west region before he became minister of finance of Nigeria?
Was he not exporting rubber n had houses before his appointment?
Or do you think people of the Niger delta were not wealthy at that time?

@Tinubutoto ...The corruption in Gej govt reached unpropotional levels checks n balances had to be done...how is blowing up pipelines avenge against the govt? You delibrately pollute the environment kill our fishes n crops n pollute the water and you say you are winning? I believe Ogoni should come to mind...only to do clean up for wat crude Oil did there would take up to ten years..we do not want another disaster in our community... Tell the avengers to carry their pipeline blowing to Ijaw areas so only their land n water can be polluted...you Ijaws attacked Aladja an Urhobo community in warri delta state yesterday burning houses n killing women n children and you turn tomorrow to say you are fighting for the whole niger delta? It is laughable..The ijaws sh fight for their own leaving other tribes in the region out of their mess...you talk about Nigerian Maritime University where Tompolo collected billions of naria for the land of the University when the same land is not for them...tell him to come out of hiding n face the charges against him if he is innocent.
Politics / Re: Buhari To Implement Yar’adua’s Agreement With Niger-Delta Militants by fred06: 9:13am On Jun 05, 2016
Sometimes i am shocked with what people post..the Niger delta militancy started with MEND,NDVG n other bodies..the govt saw their agitation n gave them Amnesty n pipeline survelliance jobs n contracts to assauge their living conditions... So who are these Niger Delta Avengers are they not the same people? They collect monies monthly free of charge from govt. So i who is from the niger delta not being a militant i work monthly for my money while they receive money free n still yet they are still bombing pipelines using different group names to collect more money...The govt sh not go soft on these militants becos sooner or later they will pay the whole niger delta people salary for militancy..One of the conditions of the Avengers is building a maritime university in a land that is not for the Ijaws..the supreme court judgement declared them customary tenants to the Itsekiris ..now they want to thru violence n guns to take land not belonging to them by force...where do you now put rule of law in the society? Where violence can give you what you want without dialogue.. The society as we know it would slip into anarchy... The govt must be strong in their resolve if they are not willing to dialogue then war is the only option..mind you the Militants are ijaws not Urhobo, Isoko, edo,Itsekiri or Delta Ibo.
Politics / Re: Breaking News Ijaw Militants Are Attacking Aladja In Warri Right Now by fred06: 2:47am On Jun 04, 2016
Pls people should understand the niger delta region well...there are different tribes in the Niger Delta... You have Urhobo,Itsekiri,Isoko, Delta Ibo, Bini, ora,Auchi n ijaw amongst others...the militants you hear about are not Urhobo, bini,Delta ibo, ora, auchi, itsekiri or calabar...they are Ijaws..so please other tribes should not be brought into criticism..IJAW is not the owner of the niger delta region...so the general public sh take note...Aladja is an Urhobo town being attacked by the Ijaws of Ogbe ijoh.

Dear VO,
I have an aunt who wishes to travel to the US to visit her son and wife who left this country through DV lottery... 3yrs ago...
Her son in the US is writing to the embassy as regards sponsoring the mother for her visit.
His mother was denied the B1/B2 visa sometime in 2002. But she has never applied again the But she has travel to other country before.
Will the letter of sponsorship given by her son n daughter inlaw be of any assistance during the interview since she is applying for b1/b2 visit to them over there. Thanks.
