I heard if women rush childbearing like 3 kids in 5 years, they look much younger than their age when they grow older. Also women that give too much space (3yrs and above) age quickly. Is it true? |

mufasa:How are they supposed to know that hysterectomy is not done at annexes? Is that not the job of whoever referred them? They are laymen not medical personnel. Whether you are educated, semi-illiterate or illiterate, when you go to the hospital in a civilised country (not Nigeria), you should get sufficient information about what to do and where to go. Even if they have to speak hausa, why not ? Semi-qualified nurses that cannot speak English may mean that they are not even well-educated. I mean a nurse that can barely communicate in English or even write it, how is she going to read prescriptions, and labels of injection bottles. How is she going to grasp whatever the doctor tells her to do? How will she know what oestrogen means or what intracranial and other medical terms mean? How can someone that passed through Nursery School, Primary School Class 1-5/6 and Secondary School Class 1-6, did WAEC/GCE/NECO not be capable of speaking in simple English? If such a person cannot grasp English, how will she grasp the more complex nursing training? Will you like a doctor that cannot speak proper English to treat you or a doctor that speaks fluently? ![]() Anyway I am not surprised. Everyone knows that someone that cannot even write her name can pass nursing school in Nigeria if she knows someone up. I have 100percent proof of this. Nursing students who do not know digestive system, enzymes, excretory system, etc and who cannot identify human organs are passed and promoted in Ogun State. Imagine the effect on the the lives that these nurses will take care of!!! Medical students also bribe their lecturers to pass in all medical schools so I am not surprised. |
Na wa! Na wa!! Na wa!!! Why can't we just admit that Nigerian hospitals have a problem and that doctors are over-worked? For goodness sake, the guy was alive and he had already gained consciousness and was eating before he died. Even if he ended up paralysed, what is wrong with that? People are born paralysed, so should we kill all of them because they are "useless"? Paralysed people are not limited, some of them eventually recover partially or fully. And even then they can still be helped to make the best use of their lives though that level of care may not be possible in Nigeria. I know a lady who had hypertension during pregnancy, she had to be operated at one hospital in V.I. After operation, she went into coma for months with different tubes passing in and out of her body and she was attached to several machines. She had to undergo brain surgery too. At the end of the day, she recovered but was partially paralysed, could not talk , eat and walk properly. With the help of a physiotherapist, she finally started learning how to do those things over again. Today, she is alright and able to take care of her baby son. It took time, prayers, expensive equipment and good, well-paid doctors but she made it. So being paralysed is not always a permanent situation. BankyW had cancer two times and he was treated in the USA. If he was in Nigeria maybe his enemy will be six feet under, and his enemy will be decomposing in one cemetery today. But no, thanks to God and good healthcare. Because of this we have beautiful songs like Capable and Strong Ting and more to come. How can we justify insensitivity of doctors and nurses. It is not easy to lose someone at all. Life is so precious. Sensitivity should be part of their profession because they could kill another person by how they talk. But since its Nigeria, one can't blame them. They are doing their best just that there is so much room for improvement. Nigerian Government has killed so many destinies. |
Tithe paying is very good but if you are not convinced don't pay it. God does not force. Pray about it and let God lead you little by little either through His Word or by giving you signs/rewards of tithing. If you are not convinced yet, whether you pay or not, God will provide for His own true pastors. He never fails ![]() But paying tithe alone DOES NOT GUARANTEE prosperity or anything. You have to balance it with hardwork, prayer, thanksgiving, studying the Bible, holiness, honesty, smartness, good decision making, LOVE, etc that is if you are a christian If you are not, the principles of making money are universal and they work if you engage them whether you know God or not.Bill Gates and Oprah (among endless other examples) are not tithe payers yet they are rich and the money has lasted. They are even giving the money to charity, sponsoring children's education and re-writing people's destinies for good all over the world. Definitely one needs God but there are some things in life that do not concern God. God has handed over to you. At least radio, light bulb, TV, telephone, computer, aeroplane, etc were invented by people most of who did not know God. But everybody uses them whether you are a xtian or not. |
I think the hospital could have done better. But you never know. Nigerian hospitals are soooooooo starved of equipment and funds. The doctors have got the brains but no equipment and no equipment training. A political appointee once told me that in Ogun State, nurses who are chiefs of olodo (in school) and cannot differentiate between kidney and liver are passed and promoted to the next level if they know somebody e.g. Oba, Chief, Governor, etc Maybe DaGrin will still be grinning today Even if you don't pray, your life is automatically elongated by access to good healthcare. You need good health to make money and good health to spend it wellll May Nigeria change. |
Stowaway survives flight from Austria to London on Sheikh's jet The Romanian man was unhurt despite being exposed to temperatures as low as -41C (-42F) during his one hour 40 minute flight from Vienna to London inside the wheel compartment of the privately owned Boeing 747 on Sunday. It is understood that the 20-year-old, who has not been named, had no idea where the aircraft was heading when he climbed in, in a desperate attempt to find work abroad after failing to get a job in Austria. But he was dismayed to discover that he had landed in Britain – a country which, as a national of a European Union member state, he would have been entitled to enter legally without having to resort to such extreme measures. He was arrested at Heathrow airport and cautioned for entering the country without a passport but has now been released, according to Scotland Yard. Sources said that the Boeing 747 is understood to belong to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates. Austrian police disclosed that man told British officers that he had scaled or slipped under the fence leading onto the runway at Vienna’s Schwechat airport and made for the nearest plane, parked near a building site. An investigation into the breach of security is under way. The aircraft, operated by Dubai Air Wing, the private fleet used by the Dubai royal family, had been sitting, on the apron for three days after flying in from Geneva by the time it took off just after 6.30pm local time on Sunday bound for London. He was the only passenger on board flight DB001 which was carrying only crew for the short journey. It is thought that he survived because the plane was forced to fly lower than usual – at about 33,000ft – because of turbulence. “He must be crazy to do such a dangerous thing,” said Heinz Resch, the Schwechat assistant police chief. “He told the British police that he didn’t want to stay in Vienna any longer without labour, he was searching for labour anywhere, he didn’t know the route of the aircraft.” Officers at Heathrow were alerted after he was seen falling out of a cavity I the undercarriage as it landed and was caught by security. Although he was examined by an ambulance crew he had no signs of injuries and was able to be interviewed by police. One source said: “He was in remarkably good shape.” Few stowaways in the undercarriage of aircraft survive the journey. Most are crushed by the wheels as they are raised at take-off while others die from the extreme cold conditions. It is thought that many of those who do survive do so because they have been protected from the extreme temperatures by falling unconscious. In 1996 Pardeep Saini, an Indian national survived a 10-hour flight from Delhi to London while his brother Vijay died falling out of the aircraft as it approached Heathrow at Richmond, Surrey. According to the Civil Aviation Authority, the last stowaway case in Britain was in July 2009 when a man's body was found in the undercarriage of an aeroplane at Gatwick Airport. Dubai Air Wing operates a small number of 747s which until recently include a dedicated aircraft for transporting racehorses around the world, fitted with its own stables http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/immigration/7814064/Stowaway-survives-flight-from-Austria-to-London-on-Sheikhs-jet.html Na wa!!! |

Nigeria should have a National Day of Cursing and Swearing. On the allotted day, Nigerians gather together, whether huddled together as families or at work, to rain all manner of imprecations on evil doers in the country. I third it ![]() |
tkb417:I know juju is common but I was trying to prove that Beautiful's story may be real cos it sounds familiar. Why is everybody saying Super Story, drama, etc when her kind of story has happened several times before? The OAU one is recent ( my brother's friend told me) and is still happening. Young men are extremely desperate for fast money these days. |
A lot of these things happen but the culprits are rarely caught that's why they are soon forgotten. Also, mostly the grassroots or the masses see this kind of stuff. Rich people don't even get to hear about it. They are always in their cars not on their feet and they no dey waka everywhere. Even the people wey dey do this terrible stuff dey always target poor, unknown people who will not be missed. In Ota, Ogun State , Nigeria a young man murdered an old woman (not related to him) who lived alone, "divided" the remains and "packed" everything into a black poly bag. He was caught. I heard the story from a witness who saw the parts. We Africans are very fetish so we do stuff like this. If you are a trader too someone could pay for their goods with "juju" charmed money. In the first case scenario once you put the money with the cash you have made already, everything disappears. It happened to a family friend of mine and some other people. In the second case, all your money may not disappear but you start going down financially. About the ritual killing stuff, a friend of mine lost her cousin in Abeokuta when she went for NYSC. She has not been found till today. A lot do happen. An eye witness once told my relative about this really gory one. It happened in Lagos. A lady was passing in a busy market area and an evil man touched her and charmed and she started following him. Later people noticed and he was apprehended by a mob. They asked him to return the lady to her senses. He said she had to kiss him first. The mob refused at first but later agreed. Immediately he kissed her they both disappeared. The person that told my relative was mesmerised. Another one. My biological aunt saw this with her korokoro eyes. It happened in Lawanson, Surulere some distance from their house. The houses in this area have front balconies. A small boy was sent on an errand and suddenly people on the street didn't see him again. All they saw was a man with a nylon bag. He was immediately apprehended. His nylon bag was examined and it contained a tuber of yam. Funny but true people became convinced that the yam was the boy. A lot of chaos ensued but they asked for a test. Cut the yam , they told the man and it bleeds then its the boy. If not then its just a yam. So somebody cut the yam a bit and it bled!!!!! So the man was asked to restore the boy back and he did. Thankfully the part they cut was the ear and it was just a small part. That is how the boy escaped. All these things are true. In OAU, Ife, a lot of young men go to "call" spirit in the graveyard after they have made sure its a female person and they sleep with them to make money. The graveyard guard had to come and report them to the VC. These young men also sleep with unsuspecting babes after flaunting money and use them to increase wealth. There was a confirmed case of a lady who after being slept with maggots began to come out of her private part. All these things are true stories I have come across over the years. Jazz, juju, charm or whatever is real in Nigeria and the police cannot catch those who use it. For example, my very close paddy followed his friend to a Babalawo some years back. It was about a missing phone. His friend lost the phone and he wanted to know who among his hostel mates stole it. The Babalawo "opened" their eyes and they saw "video" (the way we will see it in heaven on judgement day ). They saw the boy who stole it as he was stealing it and left his firend there. He was |
Dis Guy:Abi oo. I loved it 1)that those boys playing football on the field were filling time due to joblessness and 2)tribal ties (like Ashanti in Ghana) were used to compensate for lack of infrastructure and poverty. I felt those boys were doing more than filling time, I felt they were cultivating their talents. And tribal ties have nothing to do with poverty. It is just African. Apart from these two points, it was worth watching. I could see so much potential in Africa. See where they assembled a Moped in 45 minutes. My head was swelling. And those Malian women looked so Nigerian See the wisdom of the Ashanti King in dealing with the "fake" chief. See the handsome and strong 74year old mason. I loved the fact that Jonathan's attitude toward Africans was not patronising and that he was involved in everything they did. It was nice, really nice. Didn't want it to end ![]() |
Has anyone seen this? An African Journey with Jonathan Dimbleby http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00snc3c/An_African_Journey_with_Jonathan_Dimbleby_Episode_1/ |
No big deal in kneeling on wedding day or any time after. It is a symbol of respect on that day (not respect itself). Symbols are used a lot at ceremonies e.g. salt, alligator pepper, coconut, etc. After that day I see it as a symbol of love. But what is baffling me is that some people here see the kneeling down as compulsory and see their wives as some , . Pray, how do you make love to a man you call "Sir" and kneel down for everyday (like you do for your father, uncle or elder ones), is that not r. a. p. e ?Why do men like women who are dummies? You want resepct, then give respect. Do unto your neighbour as you want them to do unto you. Shikena. skyndyp: |
amefi:The thing is if you treat a woman (most ) right and respect her as well, she will do anything for you (including somersaulting, kneeling, etc). Abraham deserved the honour he got. He loved Sarah so much that he refused to marry another wife in order to have a child/heir for so many years. How many men can do this? Remember it was Sarah who was barren not Abraham. Also, he took to Sarah's bad (but out of love) advice to marry Hagar after some time. Respect is reciprocal. But for those who are christians, the Bible commands us to submit to and respect our husbands FIRST then for them to love us AS THEMSELVES (not 0.00001% less). @topic Definitely I can. If I am in love and married to a worthy man. I can do it everyday not slavishly but delightfully and jokingly just to see his reaction. And if I say 'My Lord', I am sure he will say 'My Lady'. That said it is not until someone kneels down before a man will know he is the head. |
^^ I really don't know who you are talking about. But Aki and Paw-paw are graduates, they had their degrees long ago. They may act stupid only to poke fun and make money. They are adults/people/spirits "trapped" in small bodies which have not hindered them from making something useful out of their lives. |
. |
Haba, are they not human? Why shouldn't they get married? So far they have what it takes. If you can't marry them don't criticise anybody that wants to. Did they ask to be born short? (Even if it is hereditary, did they choose their parents?) A lot of things happen in life that are not one's fault. So what do you want crippled or disabled people to do? Some of these are soldiers who went to war for the whole nation. (I know a British soldier who lost an eye, an arm and a leg in the war. Somebody has to go and fight). What about blind or deaf people? What about people who were burnt in a fire? Or people disfigured by a disease? Everybody can never be the same. But we all can make the best of what we have. |
. |
Na wa oh! very soon, people will start sleeping with dogs and cats, start marrying them, and start campaigning for rights. Nonsense. He should stay in UK.I only pity the innocent children brought up by "daddy" and "daddy" or "mummy" and "mummy". |
^^ I just found it. Thanks. What about chicken tortilla wrap then? |
Please I want Tortillas as appetizer and Ofada rice with snail atamase stew and homemade apple juice. Thanks |

lastpage:I quite agree with you. Her body is ok. Most African bottoms are very black anyway. People wear things trhat are extremely worse than this both in Nigeria and all over the world. Just that the dress doesn't match this particular sports setting. Female runners wear worse and are equally muscled. |
I think we Nigerians are our own problem not the government afterall people not demons form the government. I heard from a NEPA official that generator merchants (and diesel sellers, etc) actually bribe NEPA to take light. Imagine!!! Same for the water corporation. I also heard from a political appointee that student nurses (in a particular state) who do not even know the meaning of photosynthesis and cannot differentiate kidney from liver are passed and promoted at the Governor's or any high profile person's command. Same for doctors. Nigerians are too desperate for money due to too much sufferhead that is our major problem. If we can just learn that the value we have as poor humans is the same we have as rich humans and hold our heads up high even if poor, then the better. |
Sexxxy please help o! |
