sometimes ago a forum member wanted to know more about some birds and how to nail them.
well i kindly asked him to read the child threads so that he would gain more knowledge and be more informed about the intricacies of FTA. it nearly resorted to something else and at the end of the day you provided the required answers.
that was a good job done and i commend you.
but one thing i wanted you to know is that the more we keep on repeating the same things over and over again the aim of education (as simple as it is) becomes defeated.
sometimes a simple common sense is all it requires to figure things out. . .which a lot of us sometimes don't want to apply.

Already the same person is now at logger heads with a few members of the forum.If you had just kept discreetly quiet and watched things  (like some of us do) i'm sure that by now he and a host of others would have been forced to read the threads and gained more.

The misconception that most people harbour in this forum about people not wanting to help is just wrong.

from my posts you can see that i am equally new to this forum. . . . and when you take a look at what i have so far posted you will see that its just far and between.
All this is because i read Most of season 4,and the child threads before i finally started to post.

so when you see some of the founders of the this thread getting irked by some posts. . . you just have to understand with them.

the issue of being ashamed. . .

. . .should not even come up.
One day i assure you in the near future you will (i hope) come to understand why. . .why it simply cant be condoned  any longer.

Feeds are channels TV stations uses to relay information from one station to another. for example AIT Lagos want to connect to AIT Abuja AIT Lagos uploads tru the feed to AIT Abuja and vise Visa.

it does not contain picture and sounds all the time

i know that both vbulletin and PHPBB are not free but there free ones out there that will do just fine.
maybe the owners of the forum can help out.
i feel with this kind of board in place it will go a long way to eliminate the short comings of this forum.

1.You will need a Strong SRT 4669x or if you prefer the HD (high definition)-where satellite broadcast is headed- a 4910 or 4930.the 69x costs between 13k-17k while the 4910 is between 40k-50k.

2.you will need Dishes because you want movies sports and music.
your best bets are in order of available channels Nilesat, multi tv (astra 2d) and perhaps Mbc 1,2 and 3(W3A).
other options are available but for now you are best off starting with the above. to nail Nilesat you need a dish of between 1.2m to 4m size depending on your location.then for Multi Tv and MBC 1,2 and3 you will need 90cm dishes.
but to get it all on one dish just motorise the big 1.2m-3m dish. for us here in lokoja the dish cost 13k.i dont know how much it will cost in your area.
here the 90cm dish costs 2.5k
then for the motorised option the jack and positioner costs around 10k here together.
all in all you will approximately 50k to start up for the 69x and more than that for the 4910.

It is plastic -sometimes metal contraption-that has 9-pins at one end and 25 at the other.

i normally advice pple to get hold of at least 2 switches so that there and then you can always know what is wrong.
those diseqc have a funny way of malfunctioning.
i once have one that was behaving badly on my 63X but worked perfectly on my 69x.

so just get another one and try with again.

The fact is that there are 2 freq for the feeds. Just blindscan again. You'll get another one that will not freeze.

@all it's like nothin wrong wif my diseqc na d cable get fault.I changd it d signal came but not up 2 d 72% i got outside,i got 58%. Fta 4 life

try to get another cable maybe the one that left from one installation and try to use that one to see if the current cable is not deteriorating.

my earlier post was for you to discard the 9000 Naira decoder because from the look of things it will be very useless come next year since it is mpeg2 and NBC has said that all transmission from next year will be Mpeg4.and that DSTV will only make more money from you by asking you to buy the HD decoder outrightly or ask you to return the Mpeg2 with a little moneyin exchange for the HD decoder
i also said that if it is movies you really want, going Nile sat will be the best alternative
asper checking your profile it was not meant to be insulting derogatory. . .it was when i notice that you were a female that i realised that nilesat installation is actually not for a beginner(practical installations i mean).
I am truly sorry if i have in anyway offended you.
BTW nile sat installation is a one time thing. . .no extra costs or bills after. . .

i will not advice you to go for the DSTV HD cos it's 91k. better go for the cheaper HD receivers like strong srt4900 or srt4910,clone dreambox 800 which are between 40 to 45k.

Yes the 4900 and 4910 are cheaper but the fact remains that DSTV has married their cards to their boxes so merely getting the card alone may not be an advisable thing to do.

i experienced the problem sometimes ago and i just attributed it to the fact that maybe my 2.4m mesh has shifted a bit

my dstv is still down, i checked a friends 4669x, and it was showing. they might be up to something.

Well all you have to do is rescan after deleting the Tp and inputing again.I'm sure it will come up.
