a very simplistic illustration. what if civil service commission is called govt employee bureau? how does that change everything? civil servant is meant to distinguish a civilian govt person from a military govt person. your definition is still rough. allthingsgood: Dont confuse yourself, if u are not employed by civil service commission, you are not a civil servant, simple. police is public servant. Eweluka is a public servant because he was employed directly by NBET |

jump in and join the party! KevUnique: . Sorry to come in both of your comments, but don't they also referred to people you tagged "public servants " as public civil servants? I have heard the term while growing up as my father was a Director General of the T.A.C, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was referred to as a PCS. Even through out his diplomatic career years as an ambassodor, they still referred to him as a public civil servant , since it wasn't a MILITARY, but a civilian appointment. |

what of your senate president? hes american citizen. the law says you can not hold citizen of another country to stay in that position. many of your law makers have dual citizenship. it is against the law. KevUnique: I have zero tolerance for currupt practices. If she has been found culpable and there is plausible evidence to back their claims, vis- a vis the UK based bank account , then she should be duly prosecuted. Civil servants are deep in financial corruption in this Nigeria and it's uncontrollable and broad. Sad stuff. |

i see your point. a political appointee. what of the new guy? is he a civil servant or political appointee or both. he was promoted from secretary position. be careful how you define this one now. look at another example, the security chiefs. are they still with police, military? are they subject to military, police rules? or they are political appointee? allthingsgood: A civil servant refers to someone employed by the Federal or State Civil Service Commission, not a political appointee by the government. Shes a public servant not a civil servant, ok? |

i look at obaseki as a technocrat that can deliver but i'm still confused on his performance. i don know what he has achieved so far. or even if he has any sustainable project in the works. i hear say he cancelled the benin storm project that was supposed to stop the flooding.
i'm even surprised a man of his calibre as governor can not have good advisers. he can not even have friends in APC nwc to advise him on the right documents to present. he has himself to blame. he just belittled the governor's office.
time for obaseki's supporters to speak up! |

we all had this experience. my father becomes angry and always wanted it corrected. someone else even mention this, the HSC gives you first year in university, so you finish in 3 years. that was form 6 in those days. if i understand tony momoh correctly, obaseki followed the form and provided all his education trainings when they could have queried him and allow him to change it and use only the ones that will not give him trouble. even me don't even remember if i have a primary school leaving certificate document. we were only given dossiers i believe. i dont even know where it is. hahahah Mycommand: Stupid people who do not know how to spell and write names correctly! "I am angry because I had a similar experience." It is like spelling "John" like this "Jon" or "Osagie" like this "Osage." This is very common owing to the fact that Nigeria is a country with different ethnic groups and people give names to their children based on their ethnic backgrounds. Someone in the northern part of the country is likely to spell wrongly the name of another person from the south and vice versa because of their ethnic backgrounds and different dialects spoken. However, a government entity like the NYSC and a host of other institutions that award certificates are suppose to make sure that the "cream of people" who write or input names on certificates and other important documents by hand or through an electronic media are very knowledgeable about spelling names.
In the case of Governor Obaseki, this is "APC Party" witch hunting lead by the thug Oshiomhole and his cohorts. An unfounded and baseless argument! |

so the apc screening committee concluding that his hsc is defective as the edusystem doesnt know it, is wrong! isn't the hsc the same as form 6 those days? yes. we call them higher school then or A/levels, even higher form. seunayantokun: UI not OAU.
With HSC, you spent 3 years for 4-year course at the time. Many of the schools running the higher school are no longer existing and records keeping culture isn't perfect in this country. |
