hahahahahah. so people that live long refrain from bad lifestyle? playboy owner hugh hefner died at almost 91 years old or more. they market prostitutes, naked women. he parades himself with naked women. Biodun1929: The benefit it gives is...semen is life force. The more you retain (reframe from having mindless ejaculations), the more life force/power you accumulate in your body. And that power/accumulated life force can then be transmutted for better porposes...like achieving greatness in your field. |

Do you see many politically active 90 year olds ? except Queen elizabeth, late mubarak, fidel castro and jimmy carter. even Robert Mugabe tried. only 5th columnist ruinned his plans. good, but is okonjo interested in the position? PericomaNwankwo: Trying to decimate future obstacles. Lol. Nigeria doesn't want to gamble with that position so it changed their nomination to Okonjo because she stands a better chance of beating the two other African nominees to that position. Egypt, sensing the danger ahead, wants her nomination rejected because they know with her in line, their nominees stand no chance. |

he give him school friend contract. thats personal gain. him and him friend go split the profits. hahahha middlebelter: What are you insinuating? Was there anything to suggest in the allegations that he embezzled their money? Nothing close to that, rather they are after key appointments, loans advanced for Agriculture and power projects that was competing with Word Bank Projects in Africa etc. Please take time to review the allegations again. Let me tell you this, Adesina is a first class brain and guess what (but don't quote me), it appears he and Ngozi Okonjo Iwealla are working together to ensure that the areas neglected by Word Bank in Africa are being filled by AFDB which angers the owners of Word Bank. Trying to understand the political economics behind the struggle for the position. |

wise what? they are trying to close loopholes adesina took advantage of. they know they have to. Iamgrey5: Well! very clever move by AFDP
They did not anger Nigeria but didn't totally dismiss Americans concerns
The person that chaired the review must be as wise as king Solomon.
They will not probe Adesina but subject the report of the ethics committee that declared Adesina innocent to further scrutiny within the period of two weeks to a month.
They will also scrutinize the process of whistle blowing within the bank to ensure it is not a bad belle thing.

when a blind man says he can see the sky, who will help him again? he can be nailed for giving his friend a contract. it is unethical but like buhari said, i must support him, and we must all support him so the foreigners will not control AfDB. Admitwithschola: You are not correct - his behavior is not unethical and he is causing no trouble. If you are an insider, you should know that there are forces with different interests and investigations have vindicated him. The claim of no due process followed has been shown to be weak.
America cannot control AFDB. This is not the world bank where America is the largest shareholder. They're not first and certainly not second. |

America has threatened to pull out of WTO, if china's status as a developing economy is not reviewed..... I'm not really sure how much of help the status of developing economy offers china, but I agree its a disservice for china to claim it's still a developing country..... Angah is an insider and I'm not convinced he has the courage to muster the reform that WTO really needs.... WTO needs an outsider to reorganise the institution and ensure its relevance in this globalisation era..... |

you make sense. let okonjo stay in GAVI but i suspect him and the president/ceo dey clash. the man be like he wicked!!! orshiayoh: The withdrawal of Mr. Agah's nomination is in my opinion, a wrong decision influenced by local politics. Mr. Agah who joined the WTO since 2005 as Nigeria's Permanent Representative and later appointed a Deputy Director-General is an insider, and can be trusted and supported by colleagues to reform the WTO. His nomination received overwhelming support within the WTO and the General Council, a body he chaired while serving as Nigeria's Ambassador. May Nigeria not suffer the consequences of this political decision. |

open treasury should list the names, department and title of the individuals. good record keeping. Iolo: You’re right. Open Treasury is a step in the right direction. As it allows for these sort of probes from Budgit. Alas, the goal of any government should be to shorten the length between when a corrupt act takes place and when it is spotted. This potentially helps to do that with CSOs and other watch bodies like Budgit monitoring government expenditure.
What is critical to do next is to increase the number of transactions covered and then put in place a mechanism to effectively investigate allegations such as these in a timely manner. Perhaps put a lien on these accounts till the investigations are concluded.
There is probably nothing legally wrong with government paying an individuals account directly depending on what the payments are for - which the narration on those transactions were not clear about. So it could be corruption being caught early on in the game or could be an accountant in an MDA performing a legitimate transaction but too lazy to fill in the right Narration details.
This is a good step in the right direction. |

Adesina is busy causing trouble. Adesina just throw all the former African presidents under the bus for his unethical behaviour. they have to support him to prevent america from trying to control the bank. I think we have others beside Okonjo. Nyanabo: So far as she is human she can't. I'm not saying she is 100% or a thousand percent. All I'm saying is she is the best we've got that's suitable for the job at least for the time being.
Why is it that it's other people who values things that's under our nose ? We attach no value to them until other people starts appreciating them for their works. I remember Mr. Adesina when he wanted to run for the presidency I'd of the AFDB back in 2015 he didn't receive full support. But now see the exploits he is doing on the continent. Until recently his person wasn't questioned. |
