In Eastern Nigeria, the majority Ibo saw the handed down region as their exclusive estate to dominate and suffocate minority people and use their dominance there as a linchpin to conquer and colonise the rest of Nigeria.

2. Ibos staged a coup when the same coastal people had gotten support at the federal parliament to grant a referendum for COR region.

3. Adaka Borro's short lived rebellion was in response to the Obi dictator , Ironsi abolishing regions.

4. Ironsi gave Ojukwu orders to squash the rebellion and Ojukwu used scorched earth tactics pillaging Ijaw and coastal communities to get Boro to surrender himself.

5. Borro was arraigned in a special court and quickly convicted of high treason and sentenced to die by hanging .

6. Fast forward and Gowon takes over and Ojukwu rejected Gowon creating states for minority people out of the Eastern region.

7. Gowon goes ahead and creates states for minority people. Achebe wrote that "it was the darkest day across Eastern Nigeria". By Eastern Nigeria, Achebe meant Ibo Eastern Nigeria because minority people jubilated on the announcement.

8. Ojukwu declares Biafra and drags the already Ibo weary minority people with him.

9. Ibo majority began antagonising the minority people , arresting , torturing and killing them over their lack of enthusiasm for being stuck in Biafra. Biafran troops formed a blockade in the border with Nigeria to prevent minority people from escaping the hell hole that was Biafra.

10. Coastal minority men who managed to escape joined Nigerian federal forces to help reclaim their ancestral land.

11. The pogroms and war crimes continued with Ojukwu directly ordering that all minority communities within reach of federal forces be "evacuated". Thousands were marched away by Biafran troops never to be seen again.

12. Retreating Biafran troops made sure to burn down and pillage every coastal community as they made their retreat.

13. In Midwest, Ojukwu appointed an Ibo man (Maj Okonkwo) as the defacto HoS and had him declare the Republic of Benin.

14. Like in Biafra, non Igboid people became targets of harassment, extortion, rape and killings. The Igboid Midwesterners got disgusted with how their Biafran cousins were treating their fellow Midwestern brothers.

15. A resistance force composed of Bini, Itsekiri, Isoko and Urhobo young men armed with cutlasses and double barrels began to fight back and successfully sacked several Biafran cantonments.
