The way Nigeria is structured, states cannot do much. We have a lot of things on federal government exclusive list. Governors have a limit to what they can even do in protecting and securing their state if the President refuses to act.

Haven't you heard the saying that Nigerian President is one of the most powerful Presidents in the world? Simply because he has so much constitutional powers to do and undo, so states are seriously limited under Nigeria's current setting and system
Lame pathetic excuse.

Even Buhari the centrist started devolution of power through granting of states to generate and keep energy without compelling them to transmit first ti the national grid. This is what you guys were hyping the dwarf in Abia even though it was a Federal initiative from the past government.
Buhari even started the process to state police and correctional centres which your lazy thieving governors are refusing to implement.
What of LG autonomy which this current Tinubu govt was able to mandate to ensure your tin god governors conduct LGA elections or have their funds withheld.

In Abia, through legislative rascality, your dwarf governor was able to collapse revenue to LGAs under a single treasury account which he has refused to disburse to the LGAs . Even Solodu did same thing in Anambra.

The honest truth is that you guys are not ready or even willing for autonomy as you can't wean yourselves from the free FG allocations.

I can beat my chest and say I remain the only poster here who supported GEJ's attempt at removing subsidy in 2013 and Tinubu's reform to actually have the balls to do it

All obidients complaining about subsidy removal were in support of GEJ removing it. Maybe because it was coming on the advice of that wiccan witch , Ngozu.

Also, all BATists today opposed it and protested on the streets over it.

Even the President was on the streets to protest it's removal.

But to APC credit they openly declared that their position back then was driven purely out of politics to oust the GEJ govt from office.

So when you see obidient Marxists complaining today about subsidy removal, know also they are more pretentious as their champion Giringori has not even hinted on returning us back to the wasteful subsidy era.
BusinessRe: Dangote Refinery Sues Nigeria's AGF Over Issuance Of Fuel Import Licence by FSBoperator: 8:25pm On May 15
Teymanhenry:
Whether subsidy stays or goes, Dangote is not the one bearing the cost , the government is. He is a producer and refinery owner, so he still sells fuel at market value and gets paid.

In fact, subsidy removal can even favor big refiners because prices become market-driven and more profitable.
The real problem is not Dangote’s survival, but whether ordinary Nigerians can cope with the higher cost of transport, food, and living that comes with subsidy removal.
Nigerians don't understand that fuel pump price is driven by international market prices.

As long as there are JVs with foreign companies in crude extraction , fuel prices will be determined by international pricing .

I blame Obasanjo for this wasteful and stupid policy he enacted in 1978 following the commissioning of state owned refineries.

Even Gowon did not offer subsidy nor did the inaugural civilian adminstration because they knew it was wasteful.

Most don't understand dangote position...he is worried about sabotage..he said it in the last press conference..once importer have product to sell ..dey pay as mush as $10,000 to dangote employees to disrupt production.thats how they killed our refineries.
From what I know about Dangote, he will have any of his staff prosecuted to the full extent of the law if they steal from him talk more of sabotaging him.

This your assumption is wrong as Dangote is an effective and ruthless manager of resources and labour and if any hint of such occurs he won't hesitate to clear house or have those involved arrested and prosecuted for sabotage .

@ emboldened is wrong

What have they won in the past a decade?
The zikist got Zik into power at least even though he was a fifth wheel until he cunningly got the Republican act that transformed him as HoS in 1963 which saw Zik exploit it to the fullest by appointing his co ethnics into all Federal positions.

The year 1963 was an epoch year for Ibos until it collapsed in 1964 when the northerners finally saw the hidden agenda with Zik insisting he and he alone can appoint the first indigenous head of the army.

The 1964 constitutional crisis stemmed from the NPC falling out with the NCNC and not the violence recorded in the western region as falsely claimed by zikists and their apologists

The coalition govt was in deep crisis of imploding and this would have seen the NPC entering into an alliance with the Western region but Belawa caved in and allowed Zik to appoint Ironsi to no one's surprise given Zik's clannish and open ethnocentrism and nepotism.

But the north had an ace up their sleeve which was to support the total and full balkanizarion of the Eastern region by openly supporting the COR region movement.

This led to Zik activating his minions in the military to overthrow the govt and destroy regionalism.

Don't you see how these same obidient Marxists are desperate to destroy ethnic identities and are the ones screaming tribalism while being the majority culprits of same tribalism.

So roll over and take koboko up the Nyash abi… kwakwanso or Obi are better than the current dinosaur
The issue here is you obidients just want the old system of federal milking to continue be it in subsidized fuel or FX.

Time of kicking the can down the road to the next generation to deal with it is over.

My children will not inherit a broken Nigeria bankrupted because of free oil money that is embezzled by people like obi or a future they can't get a job because the FG outsourced production because trader obi and co want to continue leaching the few FX we had to maintain their import based economic model.

On import based economy, I blame Alex Ekwemme as head of Shagari's economic team that liberalised imports so you guys can recover from the war and destroy our production based that was located in the SW.

We had the zikist Marxist movement that is identical to the obidient woke crowd whose only agenda is to enthrone an ethnic champion.

They will fail this time around spectacularly and they won't have option of doing another senseless coup .

Just take an objective look at the front page of this forum and ask yourself if you would want Tinumbu to continue if you or yours were a victim of the rampant misgovernance.
We still remember how folks like you protested and cried, with mucous flowing freely from your pretentious nose during the time of GEJ.
Leave Obi out of this, he's not the president of the failing nation.
And if we vote your obi it will magically disappear abi?
PoliticsRe: Hell Will Freeze Before Obi Becomes Nigeria's President by FSBoperator: 7:40pm On May 15
Whether you like it or not, Nigeria is under the control of some puppeteer(s), and Obi has continuously given off a suave of someone who's not willing to be a 'puppet', which is one of the pre-requisites of overseeing an office of such magnitude
.

Your obi has severally exposed himself as a gatekeeper and a conformist and nothing like the reformist you all claim he is.

What is Obi's stance on the flawed 1999 constitution which he pledged to uphold if elected and has severally been quoted as saying the military handed and drawn constitution is perfect and not the problem?

My opposition to obi stems from this his dubious position which he was using to get northern elite support in the last elections

Even Simon Ekpa published a video of obi before a group of northern elders swearing to maintain the status quo as per the constitution.

Also look at why obidients are attacking this current govt over the reforms that are a backend move to empower states and local govt and water down the Federal govt.

Has the obidient movement position not looking more and more like what a typical Fulani rent seeking northerner is all for?

Note: I only mention third world continents.
Liar.

The last attempt by Brazil in conjunction with Gates foundation and Monsanto to release GMO mosquitoes ended up with a Zika virus pandemic.

You can't eradicate mosquitoes although through rigorous administering of malaria prophylaxis the disease itself can be drastically reduced but saying you want to eradicate mosquitoes is a pipe dream.
BusinessRe: Dangote Refinery Sues Nigeria's AGF Over Issuance Of Fuel Import Licence by FSBoperator: 6:50pm On May 15
SmartPolician:
Every government has the statutory power to decide what should be brought into its domain.

AGF can give them import license, but the customs should impose insane duties on imported refined products that will discourage them from importing more.

Those importers should pool their resources together and build a refinery. Dangote has done it; BUA is doing it. These men don't have two heads. The importers have milked this country dry for so long!

Nigeria shouldn't be using her USD to import something that can be totally refined domestically.
As much as your position aligns with mine, I want you to know things are more complicated than what you see

Since the Abacha era, Nigeria has been swapping crude for refined products owing to the collapse of the refineries.

These deals are iron clad and running for decades into the future.

Some highly placed powerful individuals even own considerable shares and ownership of these foreign refineries and if Nigeria decides to totally ban refined petroleum products, there will be arbitrations in foreign courts that will side with these foreign refineries.

Also note that the time for private refineries has since elapsed since Nigeria's crude production is inadequate and that meant for domestic production (just 400,000 barrels is grossly inadequate.

Also factor in crude swap debt settlement deals enacted by the last administration and you will see we are just drilling to pay off debt.

This is why Dangote with his 605k per day refinery is now applying to the FG to give them exploration and drilling license.

The inevitable death of OPEC will see to Nigeria lifting its output ceiling and with the situation in the ME, Nigeria stands to see investment inflows in exploration and opening up of new oil wells.

So outrightly banning refined crude won't work.

Placing heavy tarrifs will not in anyway help as it will only fastrack Dangote to supreme monopoly.

it was like a horror movie!!!

bandits underwent massive reintegration into the nigerian armed forces the army navy airforce and police while so many politicians were clapping.I saw tinubu in this dream and he even said it was a step in the right direction.

Howver things got very bad,the bandits started having access to locally and foriegn imported rockets and much bigger drones, and they assembled a million man soldiers.

Rockets hit abuja, lagos ,and all strategic fedral assets including aso rock, while the sophisticated drones of the bandits bombed nigerian millitary formations and wepons mercilessly.many nigerian soldiers threw their rifles and ran away claiming betrayal.

A bandit reintergrated soldier exploded an IED where the president was attending a meeting including key APC memebers, the bomb destroyed tinunu left arm and akpabio broke right leg so many apc members where critically injured, the Aso rock villa was completely destroyed with rockets, including power plants and communication masts.

The horror was so strong thag even the presidient have to run away and apologised for his failures while blamming GEJ .

i woke up and it was a dream
The fulani boogeyman will not work.

You are warning of fulani taking over Nigeria but you are in alliance with same Fulani that want to get back to power.

Well, all your horror dreams can only happen under a lame duck Obi presidency which will never happen.
