Lagos state govt is on record to be the only state that has an existing rail infrastructure that was fully funded by the state govt and is being operational.

Fourth Mainland bridge is on the pipeline and also the Lekki airport project.

Note also that Lekki sea port is also partly owned by the Lagos state govt.

Court cannot ok someone's conviction and reduced his sentence for no reason. A reason was given which I stated. That simply mean that the conviction as handed by the lower court wasn't accepted.

And FYI, the Supreme Court in Finland hardly entertains cases upheld by the lower courts.

And FYI, Finland Supreme court does not entertain every criminal appeal case.

Zik actually won elections in lagos and even defeated awo at some point,that led to the formation of AG by awo but many yorubas supported zik's NCNC against awo.

When awo fought back with nationalism,zik had to return to the east and his disdain for awo became further entrenched.

After losing the elections across the Western, Midwestern and in the coastal enclaves of Eastern Nigeria, the excuse of electoral violence is what the likes of Zik and co were using to refuse to inaugurate the new govt that won the elections .

Azikiwe will later sack Tafa Belewa and in return Belewa will sack Azikiwe back.

Zik's tenure as President had automatically come to an end with the loss suffered by his UPGA but he still refused to step down as President and to do the right thing to inaugurate the new govt led by Tafa Belewa.

Zik claimed that the ammended constitutional section that made him President from Governor-General in 1963 specifically outlined his name. This was true and a great legislative oversight.

Zik claimed that since the constitution provision regarding the office of the President specifically mentioned his name , then the office belonged to him for life.

What arranant rubbish.

This led to the constitutional crisis of 1964 .

But Tafa compromised and allowed Zik to remain in office until 1968 (five year tenure starting from 1963) and even allowed Zik sole discretional powers to appoint the Head of the Nigerian military which Zik did not fail in his bigotry to appoint the incompetent Ironsi.

It's from that moment onwards that Ibos began crying marginalisation despite oppressively dominating in the Eastern region and being in power at the centre since 1960.

Zik was greedy evil selfish bigoted sectional being whose name and every accolade given to him ought to be annulled and purged from history.

Zik had come to see that his position as President was non negotiable since the ammended 1963 constitution to a Federal Republic specifically named him.

It was for this reason that even after the NPC had pulled out from an alliance with the NCNC and had gone into alliance with Akintola's NNDP alongside Niger Delta Congress and had won the elections in 1964, Zik had refused to step down by claiming the constitution pronounced him specifically as the HoS.

For this reason, Zik refused to inaugurate the newly elected govt led by Tafa Belawa.

This led to the constitutional crisis of 1964.

Belawa had even requested that Zik be placed under house arrest and the British army commander, Major General Christopher Welby-Everard, received legal advice that the Prime Minister was the substantive head of government.


But still Zik did not respect himself.

It was at this time Ojukwu approached Gowon to join in a coup plot to overthrow Balewa and in his place make Zik a civilian sole dictator.

The Nigerian National Democratic Party (NNDP) allied with the Northern People's Congress (NPC) to form the Nigerian National Alliance (NNA), led by Sir Ahmadu Bello. The NNA also included the Mid-West Democratic Front, Niger Delta Congress, Dynamic Party, and Lagos State United Front. It won the December 1964 federal elections decisively (198 of 312 House of Representatives seats), while the rival UPGA (NCNC + AG) was shut out of power.

This alliance was central to the political tensions that preceded the January 1966 coup: the NCNC (Eastern Region) was excluded from the federal government, Igbo officers and politicians felt marginalized, and the disputed October 1965 Western Region elections — where NPC-backed federal forces enforced the NNDP's claimed victory against the AG — triggered widespread violence and deepened the sense of northern hegemony that fueled the coup plot.

The thief Major Donatus Okafor was about to be kicked out of the army for embezzling funds raised by NCO soldiers that was kept by him.

He approached Brig General Maimalari to help intercede on his behalf after the Army began an inquest into the allegations leveled against him by a Hausa sergeant that he (Okafor) not only stole funds raised in raffle ticket sales by the NCO mess but also took money from him to secure the promotion of one of his fellow NCO soldiers who had been passed over for promotion over the years.

Okafor will later repay Maimalari by invading his house a few hours after same Maimalari hosted a party celebrating his wife giving birth.

Same Okafor the thief claimed to have joined the coup to fight corruption in high places.

Note also that the most corrupt politicians with the most scandals were of the NCNC branch of the ruling party.

Tafa Belewa was not able to reign in the corruption because he feared Zik would have demanded for fresh elections so as to end not only his govt but also the alliance.

It was for this that the NPC had secured an alliance with Akintola of the NNDP .

Not only was Zik and his NCNC crooks about to lose out from power with the NNDP and NPC alliance that would have seen the northern and western region allied together but the Northern, Western and Midwestern Federal Parliamentarians had agreed to work with MPs from the coastal minority people to create COR region.

So Zik was not only seeing an end to his political position and power at the federal level but the Eastern region was about to be broken up which would have seen the Ibo speaking part become not only the poorest but politically insignificant region as no one would want to align with Zik and his NCNC going forward.

This was why the coup was planned and carried out to get rid of everyone that was against Zik and his corrupt NCNC from Tafa to Sardunna to Akintola

All the interlocked roads in Lagos are still strong without any issue, even when there is absence of good drainage system

Coal tar and bitumen use have not helped Lagos roads

All the inner roads constructed with interlocking paving stones have remained but those coal tar roads have been washed off by the rains

Concrete would be far better.

In light of Ohaneze demanding that Lagos should be reverted to a federal capital despite Abuja being so, I think every aspect of Lagos must reflect her Yoruba ownership and heritage .

Monuments and roads named after other Nigerian patriots should still remain so but any named after anyone from the SE needs to be renamed asap .
