Kanu was not revolutionary in the sense of offering a brand new ideology and agenda on behalf of his Ibo population, he became popular because he amplified a suppressed agitation that had existed since 1945 when Ibos began migrating and settling across the present SS.

The British creating eastern Nigeria that saw the Ibo as a majority only cemented that internal colonial mindset.

Ojukwu declared Biafra because Gowon finally did the right thing and created states for the oppressed minorities.

The civil war was fought mainly because Ibos did not want the SS provinces to be independent of Enugu.

Nnamdi Kanu came to prominence because he was the first since Ojukwu to openly express this long held expansionist agenda.

Ohaneze has now exposed this fact of general Ibo population ambition that sees the SS as a region to be annexed by shamelessly refusing to accept SS representatives from Rivers and Delta north in preferring to be categorised under the broader Niger Delta umbrella instead of being lumped into an Ibo canopy.

Ohaneze representatives staged a walkout and addressed a press conference rejecting the stance taken by ethnic representatives from Anioma and Rivers state.

They labelled the entire conference as a charade all because the good people of Delta North and Rivers said they will rather be under the PANDEF and SS region.

Ohaneze will later double down and demand all of Rivers, Delta North, Bayelsa, Cross River and Akwa Ibom be ceded to the SE despite reservations by representatives of the aforementioned people and states rejecting such. Ohaneze will include parts of Edo, Kogi and Benue to their demands.

If that cuts across as highly irresponsible, reckless and exposes an ethnic expansionist agenda then wait till you hear their demands over Lagos as a state and part of SW region.

Ohaneze demanded that Lagos reverts to being a federal capital despite Abuja fulfilling that role.

They hinge their demands that all of Nigeria developed Lagos and so Lagos should not be under the control of any ethnic and regional group.

The madness did not end in annexing SS but also Lagos state.

If there's one thing Obaseki as governor of Edo state can be credited for was his govt dragging Ohaneze to court to barr them from carrying out any cultural activities in Edo state.

Since Ohaneze will not respect themselves, it's high time states in the SS and SW seek legal and legislative backing in curtailing the madness from Ohaneze.

Someone has clarified here that the man arrested here was going to Oyo and not Ogun state to avenge the murder of his brother who was killed in 2021 in a cult related incidence.
