EducationRe: End In Sight For ASUU Strike As FG Reviews ‘No-work No-Pay’ Policy by Fuckyoumod: 7:15am On Sep 07, 2022
kingi777:
I think FG sees university lecturers as mere civil servants that is why they don't have regard for them. The truth is that for you to qualify to lecture in the university, you must develop your self by acquiring higher degrees such as MSc and PhD. Even though some people would say it doesn't matter, it costs a lot to do research especially for those in sciences due to dollar exchange rate as most of the reagents and equipment are imported. When you suffer to get this qualifications, they start paying you with meagre salary. I think ASUU has been listening to the cry of the masses by calling off the strike in the past without achieving anything. Somepeople are against ASUU getting decent pay by comparing them with civil servants that do not need research publications, conference attendance and higher certificates for promotion. A lecturer works all round the corner, both at night and weekends without rest. Most of them slump and die due to stress from overload of work duties. The truth is that most universities are understaffed and that’s why ASUU is asking for earn allowance due to over admission of students. As a postgraduate student of ABU, Zaria in 2017, I was privileged to attend a conference at Durban University of Technology in South Africa and I saw the cars/machines driven by lecturers and I was awed. They are really paid well. But I noticed in Nigeria, lecturers are no more proud of their work because of let down by even students as they can hardly buy decent cars or live in good neighbourhood. Universities are built every day but no provision of lecturer's quarters unlike in the 60s. Some enemies of education would also say what are the lecturers teaching, but nigerian graduates are doing wonderfully well in over the world. They follow the NUC curriculum and are checked via accreditation. FG has to stop demoralising lecturers by paying them well so as to encourage them to concentrate and put in their best for the betterment of students. Why should an MSc holder working with TETFUND for eg be paid NGN700,000 as entry salary while a PhD holder starts with less than NGN130,000/140,000 in the university? Go to TETFUND and verify, you won't see children of nobody there; most of them are children of Senators, governors, ministers, emirs etc. Meanwhile, the TETFUND came through the effort of
ASUU o. Yet a professor earns less than NGN450,000 and the government feel good. Some say Fg don't have money so what's the rationale for spending billions on school feeding? The Fg is making the university unattractive and if care is not taken, education in Nigeria will be affected as it's only those who don't have a choice that would like to lecture as the best brains won't consider doing suffer head for nothing.
if ASUU a university teachers union are not civil servants what then are they? Oil workers? Bankers? CEO's? Politicians? See, if you want to earn the minimum salary of a Shell staff, Mobil staff or a Politician resign and join politics let's see if hunger will not kill all of you.

How much is the salary of the chairman of EFCC?
EducationRe: End In Sight For ASUU Strike As FG Reviews ‘No-work No-Pay’ Policy by Fuckyoumod: 7:00am On Sep 07, 2022
divinehand2003:
"No work no pay" policy is not the major issue. ASUU is asking for implementation of the 2009 agreement which FG signed with them.

FG should always pursue that 2009 agreement and take it as a priority to implement it in all its totality instead of playing to the gallery.
you are a thieve!

You want to implement 2009 agreement in 2022? At a time the country is bleeding and dying?

A 2009 agreement and demands that is unrealistic and unimplementable?

You must be a criminal! Spits!

ASUU should jettison that useless agreement that every successive Govt. could not implement. ASSU should wait for the new Govt. In 2023 and make a new and reasonable agreement that can be implemented. My opinion.

ASSU can deceive you and themselves all they want, But we the Nigeria people knows their real demands. Their only demand is salary, salary, their pockets, their pockets. Because that's all they care about. Not the students, not our children and certainly not our educational sector.

So stop being too gullible about ASSU and their demands.

ASSU na just thieves!
EducationRe: ASUU Rejects 35% Salary Increase For Professors; Wants 100% by Fuckyoumod: 10:56pm On Sep 06, 2022
Roger3D:
I support ASSU 100 %. Why should a professor with over 20 years teaching and research experience earn less than 12 million per annum? If the government refuses to pay then let the universities remain shut for the foreseeable future
why not resign and look for other jobs?

If your current job isn't paying you as expected, the honorable thing to do is to resign and find a high paying job.

If they want the salaries of Shell, Agip and Mobil staff they should resign and job oil companies, if they want the wages of a politician they should resign and join politics let's see how far they can go.

After all their professorship for over 60 years has brought nothing meaningful to Nigeria.

ASU must understand that if FG mistakenly give in to their demand other sector of the economy would come for theirs. This is why I must say it loud " ASU's demands are unrealistic" they are university teachers.

How much is the salary of a medical doctor? Judges? Directors?

ASU na thieves!

The best approach is exactly what the teacher is doing. Remain calm until she is done throwing tantrums .

It may not be easy when you start this journey, but with time it becomes part of you.
You see ehn, children actually depend on us for calm. You as the adult should model how to control emotions before these children. When you hit that child, you have compounded the problem because you have not taught the child anything about calm and managing their emotions.

Whatever method you decide to employ, please ensure you DO NOT BEAT the child.

P.s If you are here and you are saying beat, knock her etc., then there's no difference between you and that Ugandan woman in that video torturing that innocent two year old little girl. I wept profusely while watching that video, in fact, I am yet to heal from that trauma.

Boyooosa:
It's very possible that you were not in a right frame of mind while reading my texts...I understand perfectly that the so called leaders have frustrated almost every Nigerian, I apologize on their behalf.

My point in that post was that the so called profs should be reasonable enough to forget about that exorbitant amount they proposed and think of what can be viable and affordable vis-a-vis Nigeria's economy and and call themselves to order as they keep delaying and destroying the innocent kids that are direct victims of their nonsense strike.

Mw, I don't know the yardstick u r using to value politicians' salary but something should inform you that after the 4years or more they use to collect those funds, they go back to the primary or secondary source of income while professors are fully devoted to education, like 60 - 80% of their lives.

Moreover, why should a typical politician earn more than a professor within their serving period of 4 years? ...is it that, they have more qualification than them or they take more responsibility than them...

Explain na
sorry for my vituperation... these men are frustrating our students and children with their unrealistic demands and incessant strike.

we are on the same page, Profs are Nigerians, the economy is bad. They should management whatever they are given by FG.

Who and what are they? Why would they want a special treatment? From Judges, perm secs, directors? How much is the basic salary of the EFCC chairman?

Those old hags should go and rest!
They have given nothing to the Nigeria state, not even a single breakthrough in science, technology, medicine and economy.

Boyooosa:
We are not saying they shouldn't be collecting N1bn per month, afterall their politician-counterparts are earning millions of naira per month and unaccountable billions before they run out of their individual tenures...so, professors should feel free to demand for N1bn per month since they were the ones that trained the politicians how to mismanage the country's resources just the way we are seeing it presently in the country.

But my own concern is, Can the economy of Nigeria sustain such liability? Because, if the current administration is boxed to approve it now, we will not want a situation where the incoming administration will not be able to sustain the payment and thereby, giving the so called professors audacity to come back again and start wasting the time and lives of the innocent students, which some of them are even still in secondary schools for now...

That's the angle people like us are examining it, not their unavoidable rivalry and show of shame two of them have engaged themselves for the past 6months now
oga you and your profs are useless as far as Nigeria is concern! If you and your profs want to earn like politicians resign and join a political party let's see how far you can go.

Nonsense, you forgot to mention that politicians earn that huge money for only 4 years. While profs keep earn until they hit 65 years and retire with benefits.

TravelRe: Man Attempting To Cross Into Italy By Sea From Libya Changes His Mind (Video) by Fuckyoumod: 9:22am On Sep 03, 2022
UselessBuharist:
I’ll just make it brief, I was in my early 20’s, my friends talked me into the journey but I didn’t know they were not travelling with us until the day we left Nigeria.

I didn’t have much information about the journey but because they told me it’s easy and fun I left Nigeria with them.

We were first held by rebels in the desert for 28 days, mind you I left Nigeria Feb 3rd 2009 and I got to Libya in March.

The owner of the uncomplicated building we were living brought the police to arrest us 4 days after I got to the house, some guys were arrested but i and some other guys escaped, we ran into the cemetery and slept there till 6AM.

I found a Nigerian who offered to allow me stay in his house, few days later I told him that I got a connection to cross to Italy and I will be living the following day.

The following morning this guy left the house and locked everyone inside, he returned in the evening with 3 guys, a Ghanian and 2 Nigerians. The moment he entered the house he pointed at me saying this is the boy before I knew what was happening they stated beating me asking me to follow them. I resisted and fought back, the landlord heard the noice, he came knocking so the guys quickly ran away.

The following morning this guy asked me to pay him $300 before he will allow me leave, I said you should have said that instead of bringing people to beat me up. Then I gave him the money and left his house to the camp from where we were to be taken to the sea side.

The same night we were taken to the sea side, when we got there we were ask to sit on the floor and not make noice, about 3 minutes later a small balloon boat came and was taking us 30/30 to the big boat, I was on the 3rd batch, few minutes after I entered the big boat, we saw boats coming towards our direction behold they were coast patrol.

The person that was to sail our boat told everyone that we will all die instead of him to allow the police arrest him then he zoomed off, the police chased our boat till they caught us when we were almost out of Libya territory.

We were arrested and taken to prison on Sunday and we broke the prison on Tuesday and escaped. We were chased all night……. Na long story bro I hope I get to document all that happened on that trip one day. I lost my left eye as a result of the beating I got from the guys that were invited to beat me.
Sorry bro. for your ordeal.... It's really touching.

This is why I'd want you to share everything with us and hopefully you might just be saving a soul with your encounters.

Bro. Tell us more, were you able to make it to Italy?
Finally, how were you able to get free from all of this? After you guys broke the prison and the chase to get you guys continued?

Bro. Your story is a lesson only the wise can learn from.

don't be deceived bro... That woman is evil.

Firstly, what would make you abandon your wife and kids to marry another woman?

Even if you have a second wife, you won't abandon your kids and first wife.

A good and respectful wife is enough reason to deter a man from marrying a second wife.

From the look of things her husband abandoned her completely.

If you ask me, I will say that man was running for his life. No good wife would kidnap her darling husband.
