And what do you think NEPAD (New Partnership for Africa's Development, a product of the AU) is if not an economic commitment among member countries? The EU and the AU are both politico-economic unions. You have no argument. eeeeeee: |
Princedapace:Wrong. fulanimafia: |
eeeeeee:Why? They are both politico-economic unions of geographically proximate member states. You're seemingly the one in need of enlightenment. |
eeeeeee:Yes! Still 'apples and bananas' because the Scottish referendum was following an agreement between the Scottish and the United Kingdom governments (Biafra and ND remain dream republics), and was enacted as the Scottish Independence Referendum Act 2013. And is there anything wrong with having a referendum? No. If the MAJORITY of the people desire a referendum, then it is inevitable. You cannot simply organize a referendum because you don't like the government of the day. That is childish, silly and unreasonable. |
The EU was never a country, but a politico-economic union of 28 member countries that are located primarily in Europe. The truth is the majority of younger Brits are not happy about the outcome of the referendum, but ironically they mostly refused to vote and left it for the largely conservative older generation. The atmosphere at the office today was one of uncertainty and displeasure, meanwhile the same people refused to go out yesterday to vote. The younger generation who are actually the ones to bear the consequences of leaving the successful union in the coming decades, have essentially done themselves in by their indifference to such a significant change to their national lives. You cannot compare apples and oranges. |

The pride of the North, and Nigeria as a whole. While some are still screaming 'awa oyel' while their leaders loot and stash their commonwealth instead of investing in the oil sector and becoming significant stakeholders thereby creating jobs for their pugnacious youths, they prefer to cry victim and foolishly protect the looters of their destinies. Haters can only be left to do their job, while Northerners complete taking over the oil industry while we wait for the next cry of marginalization. As we speak, Sanusi Barkindo has just been appointed Sec-General of OPEC. Kudos to Dangote and congratulations to Barkindo. Keep making Arewa proud. |
yetunsbay:Don't fall for it; you will be pulled into a brainless argument and he will beat you with experience in brainlessness. Just smile and ignore . |
Daplux4:What are you talking about ? Wetin concern Northern leaders with PDP's mess? When 'everyone' up north is unofficially #teamBuhari?Deal with the termites that your Wike and Fayose invited to your party with their long throats. #IStandWithSheriff ![]() |
freemanbubble:You will fight with fists, while the APC will fight will federal might. Don't use your mouth to write cheques that your resolve cannot cash without crying witchhunt. Friendly advice. |
pepigeorge:You obviously don't know who you're speaking to, so quit assuming. Swerve. |
Nigerians are beginning to reap the dividends of change and a sincere government. While some who are better off, or do not have access to train services might underplay the significance; the masses who even endanger their lives by hanging off such rains or sitting on the roof due to their inability to afford fares, will surely appreciate this kind gesture from the government, and I encourage them to extend the gesture beyond the two weeks until the economic situation improves (if feasible). Kudos Rotimi Ameachi, the Nigerian masses are thankful. |
BudeYahooCom:Divide what? Lol attache-by force without shame. Going by this news, it appears you're the one trying to divide the NDeltans from their country by tricking them to bomb themselves to smithereens thereby also attracting military occupation, while protecting your lands, so as to selfishly exploit their oil and dominate their ports. Everyone knows the unsustainable percentage of oil production in Imo and Abia compared to ND states so forget your usual response. Finally, if you've not yet realized, we do not need the ND to dominate the oil industry and drown in oil if so wished. Dangote is building the largest petro-chemical refinery in Africa without laying a single pipeline from the Delta. Mohammed Sanusi Barkindo has just been appointed the Secretary-General of Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries. Meanwhile, agriculture and solid minerals are still in the cooler and yet to be fully exploited. Cry me a lagoon. It is shameful that you are trying to defend your hypocrisy of bullying the Deltans into leaving your lands free from devastation while you cheer them to continue destroying their lands and livelihood. |

Classic Okoro sense. You've gotta give it to my Eastern brothers, it appears they are way smarter than the average S/Sner. They realize that unlike the Delta which is the current golden goose, the FG might not be as patient to reconstruct any destroyed infrastructure or have a high level of tolerance for violence in the SE. But it is undisguised wickedness and hypocrisy to support the Ijaws to pollute and destroy their own region, only to warn them to keep away despite claiming to be in the same struggle. |
hardbody:There are no grounds for negotiation based on the demands and conduct of the terrorists. The FG announced a 2 week ceasefire which was continually violated by the terrorists. Did you really expect the military to fold its hands when Nigeria's assets are being attacked? You must agree that they've been very patient so far. It is in the interest of the people to organize themselves against the terrorists and fish them out like the Civilian JTF did in the NE, to avoid any collateral damage from military engagement. Any grievances should be channeled through the appropriate channels. The government will not be blackmailed. P.S. Nooks and creeks are now navigated with precision GPS and satellite imaging, and no longer rudimentary native knowledge. |
OjukwuWarBird:Keep deceiving yourself bro, everyone knows who feeds who in this country . Minority terrorists feeling funky.Furthermore...Nigeria dey kampe http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/06/oil-exports-course-despite-militants-attacks/ https://www.nairaland.com/3182867/totals-ofon-field-platform-takes Keep bombing everything that stands, you would be really foolish to stop at this point. |
If found culpable, I hope she and the wailers are aware that immunity is not sexually transmitted. |
He should be hung by his balls, no mercy for murderous cretins. |
enuelsmith:Sarathief, its already too late to beg now. Go and prove your innocence. |
Nobody has the luxury of dictating how or who the anti-corruption agencies investigate or prosecute. All looting, ponmo-slicing, rule forging witches beware...the hunters are on the prowl. Sai Buhari, the vote was not in vain. |
braine:Double gbam. The tout simply lacks character, decorum, honour, and dignity. Imagine shamelessly threatening to bring down his benefactors because he has managed to hang himself with his filthy tongue. What a shame. |
"The PDP does not have the luxury of of dictating how the current administration and anti-corruption agencies carries out its legitimate duty of investigating and prosecuting cases of corruption, as long as it conforms to the rule of law.” Truer words have not been spoken. |
President Buhari should bombard the ND with massive development and fast track the clean-up, but the support of many Nigerians for this government risks being withdrawn if it gives in to any of the terrorists demands. Flush the terrorists and restore sanity in the creeks. |
These terrorists and their supporters will soon realize they cannot blackmail the FG. Kudos to the military on their resolve to send the Ijaw/IPOB terrorists to meet their Boko colleagues in hell. May God bless and continue to protect our armed forces. |
The Nigerian military has scrapped its joint military task force in the restive Niger Delta. The task force, nicknamed Operation Pulo Shield, is to be replaced with “Operation Delta Safe”, the director of defense information, said in a statement. He said the new operation would be carried out under three sub-bases located in Ondo, Akwa Ibom and the entire Niger Delta. General Rabe’s statement reads: “The OPERATION PULO SHIELD in Niger Delta has been scrapped with immediate effect and replaced with OPERATION DELTA SAFE. This is in line with the Defence Headquarters initiative to restructure the Joint Task Force for better service delivery, efficiency and effectiveness in line with the vision and mission of the Chief of Defence Staff to contain the current security challenges in the Niger Delta especially protection of critical national assets and provision of security in the area. “Under this arrangement, the Joint Operational Areas of the new outfit have been delineated into 3 sectors and 5 Operational Bases covering the entire Niger Delta, Ondo and Akwa Ibom States. The Headquarters of OPERATION DELTA SAFE would be in Yenagoa. “This development, according to Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olonisakin, becomes expedient in order to inject new tactics and robust operational initiative to tackle the emerging security challenges in the Niger Delta region such as piracy, bunkering, vandalism and other criminalities prevalent in the area.” https://media.premiumtimesng.com/wp-content/files/2016/06/PIC.-23.-DIRECTOR-DEFENCE-INFORMATION-PAY-COURTESY-VISIT-TO-NAN-HEAD-QUARTERS-IN-ABUJA.jpg http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/205761-nigerian-military-scraps-niger-delta-operation-pulo-shield.html |
Caseless:Gotcha and done. Ana tare. |
GANJAFARMER:Not at all mate, you've got no idea. Apart from the fact that yours sincerely is thousands of miles away from your mess, last time I checked Nigeria's exports still dey kampe. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/06/oil-exports-course-despite-militants-attacks/ ![]() Yup, keep em bombs coming...I'm glad we can agree on that comrade! |
Quit trying to make sense to people who have chosen to block their brains with hatred for Buhari and his government. Lord knows most of us already have. Good piece. |
