What business meeting do they have to do in Taraba that can not be done in Abuja where the NGF meet every month? These jobless governors are just in Taraba to drink and have fun at our expense

Dangote is the poster boy of investment in Africa and no investor will even think of investing a country that destroys a 20 billion dollar investment because politics.

Tinubu and his boys need to apologize to Dangote immediately. The earlier, the better.

The revelation came despite Dangote's denial that the what the corporation paid was only 7.2%.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) Audited Report for 2022 has shown it paid for 20% shares in the Dangote Refinery.

A report by Afrisagacity shared on X handle analysed that under President Muhammadu Buhari’s regime, the NNPC committed to invest $2.7bn and buy 20% shares in the Dangote Refinery.

According to the report, in January, the NNPC, after intense pressure, released its Audited Financial Report for 2022. In the report, they stated that they purchased 20% shares in the Dangote Refinery for $2.7billion.

They claimed to have obtained $1.036 billion (as part of the funding) from Lekki Refinery Funding Limited. $1 billion was paid to Dangote Refinery - which is about 37% of $2.7 billion they claimed to have invested.

Of course, the remaining amount of $36 million was for just transaction costs.

Tinubu took over from Buhari and, in December, he set up a new NNPC Board, where he made his longtime friend and ally, Pius Akinyelure the NNPC Board Chairman and reappointed Malam Mele Kyari as NNPC Group CEO.

In a sudden turn, the NNPC that had committed to buy 20% shares, backed down. Dangote had given them an extension period (till June) to complete the $2.7 billion for the shares. But they couldn’t.

Meanwhile, the public still believed that they had a 20% shares in the Dangote Refinery - not until Sunday, when Dangote himself, revealed that the NNPC had invested only 7.2%.

Shortly after Dangote broke the news, the NNPC rushed to react. In its defence, it said “NNPC Limited periodically assesses its investment portfolio to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic goals.”

"One, what exactly are the NNPC “strategic goals?” They say it’s “to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all”.

"How and when did the NNPC 20% equity investment in the Dangote Refinery go against its “strategic goals” as highlighted above?

"Two, in its statement, the NNPC validated what Dangote said that they invested only 7% of the $2.7 billion they initially committed to pay.

"This sharply contrasts and invalidates their claim of paying $1 billion to Dangote Refinery (for the shares) in 2022 - which is about 37%.

"So, if the NNPC confirmed that they had paid $1 billion to Dangote Refinery - which is about 37% - how did they come about the 7%?

"Also, where is the balance? Did Dangote Refinery refund it?

"Three, why exactly did the NNPC back down on their initial commitment of investing 20% on the Dangote Refinery shares?

"Is it truly true that they realigned their “investment portfolio, according to their strategic goals” or is it a grand plan that’s wrapped in a scam deal?" the report queried.

I don't know the phyna and the what the 1BTC is for as I'm seeing promised which means it wasn't a payment for written documented deal. That aside, 1 BTC is 1BTC. If she has a substantial condition that the said promise by BBN must be met then she must be given 1BTC. Y'all confusing yourself with the current worth of BTC in fiat to when the promise was made. That's none of her business. 1 BTC is what she must get, I don't think BBN will be stalling if BTC depreciated to $1k. They won't give her $20k it was worth at the time they made the promise and she can't lay claim to $20k either. 1 BTC must be given to her as promised, BBN will loose a lot of they fail to redeem what they promised and will loose a lot of followers, investors and viewers. Business is business

Do you know why she's not taking the matter to court?? She has been advised against probably. Nigerians like yourself are very greedy. Will you have been saying the same thing if the value of 1 btc had dropped. They are going to pay her the value of 1 btc at the time the contract was signed. That is the law. The only thing she should be demanding for is the interest that should have accrued if the 20 million was in the bank or in business. That is, assuming the reason for the delay in payment is the fault of the sponsors.

Contradicting myself where? The contract was for 1 btc or it's equivalent. It's equivalent at the time was 20 million naira. Phyna is at liberty to go to court but will be an effort in futility.

She reserve the right to refuse a compensation payment since it didn't amount to the right amount she deserved. Hence she had the right to refuse. They will lose in court

They promised to pay her 1Btc, but there was no time frame in the contract for the fulfilment of that obligation. They are bound to pay the equivalent of what is in the contract when both partners agree. So they won't lose in court. This is why it is best to read in between the lines before signing any contract.

This girl is just a drama queen. The sponsored wanted to give her 20 million naira, which is the worth of 1 Bitcoin at the time the agreement was signed but she refused. She wants 100 million naira, the current worth of it, which they are not will to pay.

It affected Dave Umahi. The court sacked him, he went to appeal and lost. Then proceeded to Supreme Court, before the judgement, his tenure finished. He lost the case there too but his tenure had elapsed so there was no enforcement.

That's why nobody is defecting like they used to do in the past. Have you heard of anyone defection in this new administration?? They all know what will happen. The Rivers former lawmakers were just stupid and I'll advised.

This is a recent law enacted in the last constitutional review by the 9th Senate. It wasn't a law during the time of the people you mentioned.
Secondly, just because a person committed an offence and was not brought before the court, it means any other who does same can go scout free.
