To as many sending him 1 naira, he can quickly go to his bank and ask them to DISABLE sms alert on this account and enable email notification only. Within two weeks he would have amassed millions from your 1 Naira. The joke is on those sending the money and not on him!
PoliticsRe: Wall Street Journal: Buhari Is Nigeria’s Problem, Not Its Solution by furlee(m): 10:19am On Jun 17, 2016
I may not agree with Muhammadu Buhari personality but I must respect the office which he currently occupies. Western world cannot denigrade the symbol representing my nation and expect me to be supporting them.

This statement by the western world is wrong in its entirety. It is visible to the eye that this man is trying within his ability to turn things around. He might have made some mistakes, fine but he is human and not infallible.

If this man should fail, Nigeria will be set back by another four years.

I affirm again, I may not agree with Muhammadu Buhari personality but my president, PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI will succeed in Jesus name. Amen

HealthRe: Disabled, Still I Stand – Lizzy’s Story Of Hope by furlee(m): 1:55pm On Oct 10, 2011
I read the story first with amazement and then with appreciation to God for sparing her life. I can vividly remember hot-angel in the days when I was a constant poster on nairaland. This amazing angel is moderate in her postings. Thanks God for saving her life. I am not offering her sympathy but a word of encouragement to hold on to that hope. One day she will not only stand but she will WALK AND RUN.
FamilyRe: Does Getting Married Quench The Desire 4 Fornicating? by furlee(m): 10:35am On Jan 06, 2010
tallgal:
You will still find other people attractive if you are married. Just remember that 'grass is always greener on the other side' and it can cost you more than it is worth!! You already have someone who fulfils 70-90% of your requirements (no one is perfect, neither are you). Don't turn the remaining 10-30% into 70-90%, which is what most people do and end up with problems.

The key is to turn those sexual feelings on your spouse. If you felt 'one-kind' after seeing an attractive person that is not your spouse, come home and give them the best sex of their lives. It will bring you even closer to your spouse and might 'rekindle' the romance that might have been lost.
tallgal:
I'm assuming you REALLY love your spouse and don't want to do anything to hurt them. Will you realistically see a person THAT attractive every day? I don't think so.
I appreciate the response above. This is sincere, genuine and straight to the point. My only addition is those who find it difficult to control their "desire" before marriage, which should be faithfully directed to one spouse might find it difficult even after marriage to stay faithful except they learn to ignore "forbidden apples".

As said by tallgal, after marriage you will meet better dressed, always smiling cool guy on day to day basis to whom you will be attracted. Where there is a urge to sample them "TURN TO YOUR SPOUSE FOR RELIEF" or else you become KING SOLOMON in the bible who kept sampling till they reach 1000 wink

ProgrammingRe: Visual Studio.net On Windows Vista: What Do You Think? by furlee(m): 2:03pm On Apr 15, 2008
@OlowoTee

Windows Vista has a lot of aches and is yet to be a stable platform for software development, I bought my laptop august last year when my previous one was stolen by armed robbers. I took all the pain to look for Laptop with Windows XP Professional though I was offered the one with Vista at a lesser price. I am thanking heavens for making this decision. When I later got a vista machine installed in my office and tried installing VS 2005 it was a lot of aches.

Get a Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 and migrate to VS 2005 from VS 2003. VS 2005 is much easier and better than VS 2003.

Have a nice day
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Is Bad - Nigeria Is Bad - What Is Bad About Nigeria Than Other Countries by furlee(m): 12:43pm On Apr 15, 2008
Anyone doing a research on negative perspective about Nigeria only needs to come to this thread and he will gather first hand information about the bad side of Nigeria. Every country in the world had their own fair share of "madness" but they always try to broadcast their good side. Nigeria is bad but not to the extent of a gunman shooting 33 students at a go (Remember Virginia Tech in America).

What we can do is to create an avenue where our advice and good reasons can be put across to our leaders. Nigeria has great potentials but we lack the leaders to utilize these human resources. Have your ever wondered why though many nairalanders never saw one another yet we discuss issues from a valuable intellectual point of view.

Let us "force" our leaders to have a feedback mechanism where we can reach them to tell them to their face their evil deeds peradventure one of them will give a listening ear and save us all from impending calamity.

Nigeria is my country, may be bad now but I believe my generation will reap the good of this land.
ProgrammingRe: Visual Studio.net On Windows Vista: What Do You Think? by furlee(m): 12:35pm On Apr 15, 2008
Installing Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition on Windows Vista still gives it own problems on compilation. I have a Windows Vista Desktop ad Installed Visual Studio 2005 on it, during compilation the program hangs. When I got to the net I was informed I need to download 431 MB upgrade patch to fix the problem.

I think Microsoft is "forcing" developers to buy Visual Studio 2008.

Meanwhile, Visual Studio 2005 works perfectly with Windows XP Professional. A program I developed with VB 2005 run perfectly well on installation on vista machine.

Good luck.
FamilyRe: Will You Be In the Labor Room With Your Wife? by furlee(m): 3:52pm On Apr 09, 2008
This is a thoughtful topic. I love the initiative.

I am a father of three (two boys, one girl).

I was there with my wife during labour for the three of them.

My Experience

Firstborn - Strenuous long hours. She almost broke my neck while tightening my cloth whenever the pain becomes unbearable. Thank God she delivered safely. Though my son later revenged by holding her neck while breastfeeding cheesy cheesy

Second born - fairly easy though with pains, I was there and it was over in few hours. However, this child is the most troublesome wink wink of my children grin grin maybe he retaliates for not giving much trouble during birth

Third born - Haa, my wife almost broke my wrist. It was veeeery painful. Later I was told that being a girl maybe she is preparing a lot of packages for her trip to the world grin grin. Se twisted my wrist so much that I felt the pain few days after the delivery.

Lessons I learned

It is good for the man to be there for your wife. It is a good moral and psychological support for your wife. Do it if you are available. Wives are to be appreciated and they will be more if you understand the pains they go through.

We are planning and hoping to put a fullstop grin grin grin.

CareerRe: 5 Months Salary Owed. What Should I Do? by furlee(m): 4:41pm On Apr 04, 2008
As much as a company has prospects, your future is not tied to a particular company. If previous payments have been through loan then the situation might get worse than present.

From your posting it seems you harbor internal fear about the future. Those who succeed in life face the future with optimisms and dare to get involve in new things.

Discover yourself first.

As a graduate when things were so hard for me years back, I want thinking of going into printing business or photography just not to be idle. Till moment, there is no idle period, I try to maximize the usage of every available time to me.

Ponder on these two questions

1. Apart from this job, what can you do as a person?
2. If this company folds up today or I am sacked by this company How do I survive?

Your honest answer to these questions will open your eyes to hidden potentials within you.

No matter what anyone say, the decision (and consequences afterwards) is purely YOURS and YOURS alone.
CareerRe: 5 Months Salary Owed. What Should I Do? by furlee(m): 3:53pm On Apr 04, 2008
I have been in this kind of situation before though just three Months, that was as far back as 2002. I was working then in Ikoyi and living in Olorunsogo Street in Mushin. At the end the third month I made a decision to leave and took some steps coupled with prayer. That decision today I have not regretted.

Neither feel sad nor pity yourself just discover the potential in you and move ahead. Resign.

These are my little advise for you

1. What can you profitably do as a person? I am not asking of the course you study but what you can personally do. I studied Computer Science and when I decided to leave the office owing me, I prepared myself to contact people to train them on Computers and Office Applications. That was where I started after resigning from the office. I realized amount greater than my salary in the first month after resigning.

2. Be aggressive to discover your potentials, market these potentials first to your immediate surroundings and when people know what you can do they will contact you. when I was about to leave the company owing me I bought a second hand computer and focused on programming, my focus that time paid off, I got a contract work with an organization that started me off in life.

3. Do not be discouraged in the face of difficult challenges. It is not always easy sfter resigning but you must know you have gained one thing, your freedom. Freedom to search for other jobs and discover the best in you.

4. Think of a business with small capital that you can do. With =N= 5,000 you can start a Recharge Card selling business, Tell your friends, your Church/Mosque members you are selling recharge cards AND DO NOT SELL IN CREDIT. With small beginning God will lift you up in life.

5. This is dry season, have you though of a business that deals with Cold Items, Pure Water, Minerals etc. Don't let your certificates make you too big for these little works. start Something.

6. Be a man of prayer, commit your way into the hand of the Lord to guide you.

Remember, You have a future that can only be restricted by one person ------ YOU.

I pray for you that God, who took my life from that prison call job in Ikoyi in Lagos now to fulfilment will settle you, soonest. (Amen)

Christianity EtcWho Is An Atheist? by furlee(op): 4:05pm On Oct 18, 2007
I AM A FREETHINKER OR AN ATHEIST.

1. An atheist has no explanation for his existence.

1. NO EXPLANATION FOR CREATION: All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. -Jn 1:3

The Universe is a vacuum. Where then did matter and energy come from? Where did the earth, sun, moon and the constellations of stars come from? Other than God Himself, something cannot come out of nothing. Every effect must have a cause. The energy in the Universe is the effect. What causes it? The Scriptures rightly show the foolishness and inconsistency of man - "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God, " ( Psa 14:1 )

It isn't rational to argue that the world which is based on cause and effect is itself uncaused. - Michael Green

2. NO EXPLANATION FOR INTELLIGENCE: For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse. - Rom 1:20

An atheist cannot accept the fact that a car can exist without a maker or a house without a builder. But, at the same time, he can accept the myriad of living things which are millions of times more complex than cars or houses without a Maker or Designer. Where is the logic?

3. NO EXPLANATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF LIFE: Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity. What profit hath a man of all his labour which he taketh under the sun? - Eccl 1:2-3

Why are we here? Where are we going? What is the purpose of life? An atheist has many questions but no answers.

An atheist is someone who is all dressed up but has no where to go.

2. An atheist has no excuse in life.

1. NO EXCUSE FOR NOT KNOWING HIS GOD: Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse. - Rom 1:19-20

2. NO EXCUSE FOR NOT KNOWING HIS SINS: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. - Rom 3:23 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. -1 Jn 1:10

3. NO EXCUSE FOR NOT KNOWING HIS JUDGMENT: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. - Rom 1:32

3. An atheist has no escape in death.

1. THE SURETY OF JUDGMENT: And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment. - Heb 9:27

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened, and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. - Rev 20:12

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption, - Gal 6:7-8

2. THE SEVERITY OF JUDGMENT: And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. - Rev 20:15

, the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. - Lk 16:22-24

3. When we travel to a foreign land, we will be judged by the laws of that land no matter how severe they may be. We cannot demand that we be judged and punished accordingly to our expectations and thinking. Similarly, when we die and meet God, we will be judged by His high and holy standards, and not by our standards, or rather "substandards".

We are so subnormal that when we try to be normal others will think that we are abnormal.

ComputersRe: Win Xp Desktop Change Upside Down. by furlee(m): 3:53pm On Sep 25, 2007
Your computer is not infected with virus, probably someone pressed a key on the keyboard or mouse that activated Rotation property of the graphics setting.

To correct it follo this procedure

1. by the side of the screen locate an icon that specifies Intel Extreme Graphics
2. Click Graphic Options
3. Click Graphic properties
4. Click Rotation Tab
5. Select Normal

Your screen should be bcak to normal.

But note the mouse will behave funny and clicking this options might be difficult until you are able to manouvre it back to normal settings.

Good luck!
TV/MoviesRe: Domino: TV Programme (AIT) by furlee(m): 10:12am On Sep 10, 2007
As much as I loved this soap opera, I was discouraged from following it up because of unncecessary repetitions. Imagine watching a soap up till episode 32 and then you were taken back to episode 19 to begin watching again. For good followers of DOMINO this has been the pattern for more than four times.

The story line was okay but the way it was enede left much to be desired

1. What happend to LORD'S WILLIAMS daugther at the end of the events?
2. What happened to Kujaye to arch enemy of Lord williams?
3. Lord's williams new wife what was the outcome of their marriage

I assume the final episode should have been dedicated to sorting out these issues rather than showing OSCAR becoming the Chairman of DOMINO his long time ambtition.

My hope is that the following good tv program be kept on good path

a. Wetin Dey NTA 8.30 pm on Sunday
b. everyday people ( I forgot the time because of light problem I only jam the program once in a while)

Let us hope that 168 Hours will be a good story.

I also want to appeal to this forum if we can be having a review of SUPER STORY weekly because of some of us who are at the mercy of NEPA most times.

God bless all nairalanders!
