joyfulmama1:You're welcome as a posting member. Be calm and be joyful like your Moniker. You're newly married and should still be in honeymoon mode enjoying your marriage. It takes a healthy couple and average of 1 year to conceive but I pray that the good Lord will bless you sooner than that average statistics. Also you're still in the most Fertile age bracket. please don't stress and stress is not good for Fertility and conception. Just do what you can to up your chances like regular BD, knowing your fertile window, losing weight if you're overweight or gaining weight if you're underweight. Omega 3 alleviates PMS and even eliminates it in some women as it balances their hormones out. You can get an take an Omega 3 supplement. Don't give the devil the happiness of seeing you sad and unhappy. I know it's easier said than done but remember that AF is another opportunity to try again. Some people na the AF dem dey find to enable them conceive. If you want to be Proactive even though I think it's still early, you can go for Fertility testing just to give yourself that peace of mind that all is well. Take care and God bless. |
@ Foe123, the 1st test strip looks positive to me. I'll concur with @ DonaTee that you should just BD regularly while testing. @ amfertile, Fish oil with Omega 3 is also good to go with. |
AyaSunday:Sis, your tubes and womb is clear, open and good to go. Congrats. Copious amount of fluid in the Pouch of Douglas suggests that you might have an infection. So please go do an HVS (Vaginal Swab) at a lab to confirm and also get the right antibiotics needed for the treatment. |
DonaTee:Using Sea Salt helps as it contains iodine. You can also get Kelp supplement. I use the Kelp Supplement by Mason Natural and its very good. |
wholesomegrace:I know that there has been lots of success and testimonials on Dr Emeka of Olive Branch, but I cant say am good with him. After I paid the registration fee and the fees for tests (him/her), he immediately did a scan and drew blood for tests, he scheduled sfa for me and my DH. When we went for test results, I found out that all he tested for me was HIV, Hepatitis and a test to show my Ovarian reserve and how I'll react to IVF stimulation. I was surprised as I expected Hormonal Assay for both me and my hubby. He just told us that his recommendation is IVF because my husband has slight issues with his sperm. I asked him why not IUI cos I still think we qualify or IUI but he tried to convince me otherwise.I have Fibroids, Subserous, Intramural and Submucuous with the submucuous being a large chunk of it. Submucuous fibrioids are the ones that affcet conception mostly either stopping implantation or causing early miscarriage. I had had series of those which I told him. I asked him what about the Fibroids, he also started convincing me that the fibroids will not be an issue. I insisted and told him that if am going to spend such a huge amount of money, pain an time on IVF, then I'll like to improve my chances and do all I can to make it work 1st time especially by removing even if its the submucuous ones. He again tried to convince me that its not an issue that we should just move on to IVF. Well we agreed, and he told us that he'll send some documents to show me details of my protocol and everything via mail and once we pay a deposit to pay the rest before embryo transfer, we can then proceed. Well after some days, I got an email from him with the protocols and terrifying agreement I need to sign. Deep in my mind I was still worried about the Fibroids so I decided to seek 2nd opinion and do my research. I discovered that I was right that the Fibroids have to go otherwise I'll just be playing a game of chance and luck. We had to advise ourselves, prayed and God answered and led us to a specialist who is willing to work with us to achieve a natural pregnancy if that's what we want. Sorry for the long post. All this happened early 2015, I had my surgery Jan 2016. I didn't want to burst peoples bubbles as almost everybody praised him on this thread and had something great to say. But visiting this thread after a long time and having done my myomectomy now with a great Dr, I felt the need to share my experience. |
Babyadorable:Yes you and @ anikeayun should update us nah let's know if and how it's working for you both. Have a great week. |
pweetymii:Thank you for lifting us all up. Amen to your prayer and the blessings. I don claim my own. 2016 shall not pass without my healthy bfp in Jesus name, Amen. |
santagelo25:I do remember you now. You were very active at some point. How far with the atrophy issues and how's your sperm now. Don't worry you'll overcome in Jesus name, Amen. He promised that none shall be barren and he shall fulfil that promise in your life. I sent you a PM. |
santagelo25:Her Uterus is Retroverted meaning it is tipping backwards towards the spine as against the usual tipping forwards towards the cervix (Anteverted Uterus). This makes conception difficult but possible. Women with retroverted uterus do conceive but it takes them longer than the women with anteverted uterus. It is said that one in 5 women have a retroverted uterus. Moderate fluid in the Pouch of Douglas is suggestive of an infection - PID ( Pelvic Inflammatory Disease). This is easily treated with antibiotics after a Lab test HVS shows what the PID and the antibiotics that can kill it off and those it is resistant to. Let your DW go for a HVS and get treated. You should also get tested (Seminal Fluid Analysis is better since you're ttc) as its possible you will also have an infection. It's best for both couple to get checked and treated for an infection once one partner is noted to have an infection. You both should get treated simultaneously, meet with condom or abstain during treatment to avoid cross and re-infection, soak panties and your inner wears in water with disinfectant for at least 5mins before spreading to dry to kill off all germs. PID is one of the known causes of a retroverted uterus so who knows her uterus might get anteverted after treating the PID. Also there are Womb Massages that is said to help. Infection is also one of the major stuff that stop people from getting pregnant. Some ttc ladies get pregnant immediately after an antibiotics course treating an infection. The cyst seen is small and seems to be a functional cyst which would resolve by itself. Your wife's uterus is clean empty, free of Fibroids, Polyps etc. The endometrium thickness differs at each point in a woman's cycle. it thickness in response to estrogen and thickens in anticipation of getting a fertilized egg to implant. It gets shed during period if there's no implantation and pregnancy. Thanks so much for your support to your wife in taking charge of Fertility. You're very welcome to the thread. TTC is for both couple not just the woman. Wishing you both God's blessings sooner than you can think or imagine, Amen. God bless. |

@ temilayooluwa, Sorry for your loss. Most women usually get their period an average of 4weeks to 6weeks. This is from what I've read and not from experience. Was your Dr able to tell you what caused the miscarriage so that you can prevent it once you get pregnant again? I pray you get a healthy pregnancy immediately you're able to TTC again, Amen. Do take good care of yourself. God bless. |
orney:Heeey eeee! Please don't add stress to your body oh with self diagnosis of issues that are difficult to pronounce Research Cervical Position and the different ways it presents at each time of the cycle and you'll find out that at some point the cervix turns hard. Never mind, I'll just get the details and paste here. Here is a summary of Cervical Position during Fertility phases. "Cervix Position (CP) is a secondary, optional fertility sign. The cervix changes throughout the menstrual cycle in response to the hormone, estrogen. 1. During non-fertile times, the cervix is closed, firm and low. 2. As ovulation approaches and fertility is high, the cervix opens up,becomes soft and high and is harder to reach" More detailed explanation: "The position and texture of your cervix will change during your cycle: 1. During menstrual bleeding, the cervix is normally low and hard and slightly open to allow the blood to flow out. It feels like the tip of your nose. 2. After your period stops, the cervix remains low and hard and the opening to the uterus remains closed. 3. As you approach ovulation, the cervix rises up to the top of the vagina and becomes softer and moister. 4. At the height of ovulation, the cervix feels more like your lips than your nose and the uterine opening is open to allow sperm to enter in. Sometimes the cervix seems to disappear – which just means it has become so soft that it blends in with the vagina walls and rises so high that the finger cannot touch it. This is known as SHOW - Soft, High, Open and Wet. This is your most fertile time and is the optimal time to have sex to achieve pregnancy. 5. Once ovulation occurs, the cervix drops lower and becomes more firm - once again feeling like the tip of your nose. The opening to the uterus will become tightly closed. This can happen immediately after ovulation or may take several hours to several days. 6. When pregnancy occurs, the cervix will rise up and become soft, yet the opening to the uterus will remain tightly closed. This occurs at different times for different women – as early as 12 days after ovulation or well after the pregnancy has been confirmed by a home pregnancy test or doctor" Note that this is a secondary and optional method. I myself tried it severally but couldn't even understand what I was touching and how it felt so I just gave up. I have other easy ways of knowing when I ovulate so I didn't think adding checking my cervical position was worth the stress. |
profitbucket:You registered on Nairaland since Aug 2014 and have only made this 1 post since then. My brother, your Pic and Moniker also didn't help matters. If its PAINFUL, then don't make a PROFITBUCKET out of it. Abeg make I LOL like @ Sugah Mbok ! ![]() @ Sugah , like @ tammyloreoluwa said, that's a very suspicious lafta from you, therefore you need to expantiate, kowatiate, in fact explain because you can't tell me it's Pregnancy brain at this time. am sure bumping things are going wella. Continue to enjoy this cool weekend Sis. |
Rubyz:2 tablespoon of ACV with the Mother attached ( eg Bragg's Brand) + 1 or 2 tablespoon of unsulphured BSM dissolved in warm water. |
@ AyaSunday, @ DonaTee is very correct. Fluid in Pouch of Douglas shows that there's an infection. 3 day Ampiclox is not the answer. Please let you and your DH go for proper testing so that the right medication in the right dosage and duration can be prescribed for you both. Please during treatment you guys should abstain from sex or use condom while doing the deed. Also during treatment, after washing your panties and that of your dh, rinse out soap suds properly, soak in water and add disinfectant, allow to soak for at least 5mins before spreading to dry. This will ensure that all germs are killed to avoid re-infection or cross infection. Spread under the sun to dry or iron if possible, if not it's still ok, the disinfectant will cover it all. @ Firstlady123, I asked earlier but you didn't answer, what's the location of your Fibroid and what's the size? Also note that Clomid increases the size of Fibroids. There are other Ovulation induction drugs that can be used apart from clomid. But if you're taking clomid, please ensure you have a plan to counteract dryness as some women get dry down there in your veejay. @ missade my Sis I enjoyed the rain wella. Slept 2nd round after having breakfast. Woke up very refreshed. It's indeed showers of blessings, Amen. |

@ Vanny2 you're welcome always. @ pweetiebabe, I concur with @ Sugah on your result. @ Oluwadamelola , you're welcome. Do you use an Android phone? If yes download "My Calendar" I've used it for years and its good mostly always on point for me with maybe a day difference give or take. I always have Ovulation pains on the day of Ovulation so I use that to match it. Some other Mamas here also confirmed that it also works for them. But above all try and do the regular Baby dance with your husband while you figure it all out. |
oluwadamelola:1. Yes it possible to ovulate early in a cycle but what you describe I doubt was caused by Ovulation. It will be sign of your period packing up. 2. No it is not irregular menstruations. All are within normal average period lengths. irregular menstruation is when you skip periods in a month or for months without being pregnant. 3. Ovulation dates can change by a day or too even in a regular 28 day cycle. Ovulation Apps cannot even predict efficiently because they do based on what you feed them and by the time you've fully fed in the information for them to correctly predict, you would have ovulated. They also predict roughly based on an avearge of 3 of your cycles that you've inoutted in them. But I must applaud that there are good ones like "My Calender" - offline phone app, " Fertility Friend" - Web based, that predict based on your average previous cycle and always seem to be on point for me plus or minus one day. Its being very helpful too. Ovulation can be correctly predicted through a scans, monitoring your Cervical Mucus, Monitoring the position of your Cervix position, Charting your temperature, paying attention to your body for signs if you do get them. These signs sometimes includes a dull ache or pain from the side of the ovary where you're ovulating from, high temperature, flu like feeling like you're about falling ill, light spotting. Note that I didn't include OPKs. OPKs are useful tools in telling you that you're having a surge and about to ovulate but will not confirm that you actually ovulated. Some women especially women who have PCOS gear up to ovulate but sometimes end up not ovulating afterall. To avoid the whole hassle of pinpointing Ovulation and covering your Fertile window properly, it's advised that you meet with your husband at least every 2-3days that way you'll be covered. Buts it's wise to get to know your body and know when you're in your fertile window and about to ovulate. |
Vanny2:It could actually be like the technician has said. You possibly were having an anovulatory cycle which resulted in the long cycle. That's by the way now since it was done before you started M2tone and Fertilaid. I believe the drugs will kick in if they haven't already. Try and get the Omega 3 like you said you would, it's also good in pregnancy so no harm or waste if you end up pregnant this cycle. cc: @ Sugah |
@ Vanny2, Alright then. Just give the supplements time to work. Am praying that the cramps are good cramps and that your bfp follows soon, Amen. Don't worry about a thing, give God praise and eat well. |
Pweetiebabe:Correct Babe! Nothing do you! Am glad you had a good HSG experience. As for the hormonal assay, you need to post the lab comparative values for proper interpretation. Different labs use different values some times. |
Rubyz:All is well with your result except the presence of an ovarian cyst which I wouldn't worry about as could be a functional cyst that will go on its own. You also have a small Fibroid in the wall of your Uterus (Intramural Mass) which shouldn't affect conception. Apple Cider Vinegar + Black Strap Molasses is good in Fibroid management and will help with the cyst too. Welcome! May your stay be fruitful and short. |
firstlady123:Welcome, you have received advice on Fibroid shrinking so I'll pass on that. If your Dr says it won't affect conception, then chances are that it won't. The Fibroid that usually affects conception big time is the Submucous Fibroids which are Fibroids inside the uterus. It's not enough to just tell you or to just say that your Fibroid is big now and that it won't affect conception. You need to know the exact size and location for yourself to be sure. May your stay be Fruitful and short in Jesus Name, Amen. |
sugah:@ Sugah I feel like I responded to her already or maybe it's a similar post from someone else but I'll respond again, thats ok, am always glad to respond to issues am knowledgeable on. @ Vanny2 I know you're taking Fertilaid and M2tone which I believe both do the same work. I also know for a fact that Omega 3 increases FSH levels. So I'll suggest you start taking Omega 3 supplement if not the whole Omega 3,6,9 combo. I found single Omega 3 supplements while searching for the Omega Combo. One pharmacy I went to also had the option of counting from a very large bottle; they count out 10 Capsules for N300. My new Dr couldn't over emphasize the fact that Omega 3 & 6 balances out hormones in the body. He said Evening Primrose Oil is also good with balancing hormones but he prefers Omega's over it because Omega's are safe all through the cycle while EPO is to be stopped upon Ovulation. I have Hormonal Imbalance - FSH, LH, Prolactin in fact everything was off in some of my tests, although I've also had several tests in the past where everything was normal and Prolactin on the high side of normal. I also have poor Ovulation and PCOS and my new Dr recommended the Omega's (3 & 6) which are safe all through the cycle. He also recommended that I maintain my weight if I can't lose more. I'll be getting evaluated again when am set to TTC and by then according to my Dr, he's hoping my hormones will be balanced out and he will only need to induce Ovulation slightly just to get a very good Ovulation and to increase my chances for multiples. Balanced hormones are very important for conception and pregnancy. Vanny2 was this test before or after you started M2tone and Fertilaid? Are you still late for AF? Crossing my fingers and praying for your bfp. |
@ eriolaoluwa , thank God you were not conned out of your hard earned money for nothing. Some cysts do disappear on their own and other just need a little treatment. My Dr even says that these days there's hardly ever a need to operate on a cyst. You can go for another scan to confirm for yourself. Keep praising God for he is good and very soon your bfp will manifest. I don't mind your mentioning the hospital oh so that Mamas who may ever come across them will know that may be they're good but like making quick money out of their patients so there's need to be cautious. I had a similar experience in a popular Fertility Centre last year and will be sharing my experience with the Mamas on the ivf thread once am on my laptop. |
favouredestiny: favouredestiny: favouredestiny:You need to be sure that your Prolactin level is OK now and that you no longer have white discharge from your boobs as it can delay conception. You can try doing the physical check to see if the fluid is still coming out, you'll really need to press hard or get someone to do it for you. Am unable to do mine myself. Tamoxifen is used for treating women anovulatory cycles. Perhaps he injected you to trigger Ovulation but he needs to have even check your follicles then to be sure there is a dominant follicle that has matured before he triggers it to release an egg. He shouldn't just induce Ovulation with drugs without checking to see if they worked or how you reacted to them. You should be induced but theres need for monitoring to be sure that the drug and the dosage worked. You need to do hsg to check your tubes so that of patent, you know you're just dealing with Ovulation and high Prolactin. Don't worry it will end in praise to God. I don't know much about Parlodel for high Prolactin. Am on Dostinex and Dr said I must continue it until I get my bfp. Are you overweight? |
favouredestiny:Did he treat you for the high Prolactin and Galactorrhea (white discharge) before placing you on Clomid? I think you also need to treat the high Prolactin. Did you ovulate on the Clomid cycle? If you ovulated then the clomid did its job only that you didn't fall pregnant. If you're overweight, try losing weight. Being overweight stops some women from ovulating regularly and they ovulate on their own once they lose weight. After your scan 2 months ago, what did he recommend as the next line of action? Sorry that am asking too many questions, am just trying to gain insight that will help |
Sarahjoe1000:No vex. Your conclusion is unlikely. People usually jump pass questions that they have no idea of. Like @ Loisemm said, continuous spotting all through your cycle is not good. I 2nd that you should see a Gynae. Loisemm: Sarahjoe1000: |
delor:Lol. she already answered in the quoted post above. |
favouredestiny:I won't advise on self medicating on clomid especially if you're not ovulating at all. It's best you see a good gynae to help you out. There are better drugs than Clomid. Ovulation issues are usually one of the easiest solved in Female Fertility for conception. You can maybe start taking Ovaboost which is known to help with good eggs and Ovulation. You can also take Omega 3,6 & 9 to help with your hormones. Those are safe supplements to take. But please, it's important that you see a good gynae please. Where's your location? Mamas can help suggest Drs and/or hospital. But am wondering how you concluded that you're not ovulating. Did your Dr say so? I know you did a scan on CD 12, but what if you ovulated earlier? How long is your cycle and is it regular? Can you maybe try other ways like temping to check if you're ovulating? |

hotmomma:I concur with you and tammyloreoluwa that we should be careful in this ttc journey and with herbs too. Herbs can be damaging to the Kidneys. I myself took several before I resorted to having Myomectomy to take my Fibroids out. I didn't want to mention it in my response to @ happymummy because I don't want it to seem like am pushing her to surgery or condemning Fibroid shrinking because it didn't work for me. A great saying goes "Do not deprive someone of hope" . Surgery is usually considered extreme and a last resort. So as human beings, we'll naturally want to try other things before resorting to surgery if they don't work. Before my surgery, I asked here for recommendation on supplements or herbals that can shrink hoping I'll find one, I got none. I actually did a long post on it showing Mamas response. I didn't feel and will never feel any regrets with my surgery because I can actually look back and tell myself that I did try my best to shrink it. Also because God was merciful and granted me a successful surgery which I know will bring me the end result, my bfp and a healthy pregnancy. I do believe that home remedies work and there are herbals that can shrink Fibroids especially if they're small and taken religiously. That's why I shared the trending post on RCCG Midwife which wasn't available before my surgery. Am sure if it was mentioned in the years I was trying to shrink my Fibroids I would have wanted to try it out myself I was scared of surgery then plus ttc can make someone desperate Fa! I also believe Subserous Fibroids (outside the uterus) respond better and faster than the others. It's all just my opinion though. This is an e-forum and typed out words are more easily misunderstood than verbal face to face conversations so I always try to be careful while posting. |
happymummy:You shouldn't be very bothered. But you should be bothered enough to do something to boost your volume. it's just slightly below the normal range so you can just take iron rich foods to boost your red blood cell volumes. Pumpkin Leaves (Ugu), taken with or without milk is known to be very effective, eating Liver too is also known to help. If you're taking any Prenatal, it will also have Iron so that will help too. There are also iron Tablets/Syrups which can be bought at a pharmacy. It will be wise to boost your volumes as it will help in conception and pregnancy. If you choose to take Iron syrup or tablets, please drink enough water daily to avoid constipation. Drinking lots of water also helps in good health, boosting blood volumes and of course ttc. Increasing your protein intake also helps. PCV ( Packed Cell Volume) is also known as Hematocrit. "Hematocrit is the proportion of your total blood volume that is composed of red blood cells. A hematocrit (Hct) test indicates whether you have too few or too many red blood cells" Hope this helps. |
