Have been battling cough and catarrh this week, so I started Vitex, Omega 369, Lipton with lime, lemon and honey. Pls am I safe. I just got my Bfp today. Mamas pls answer a first time mum o, pls. cry
@fvine and every mama pls
You're safe Dear. Just stop the lime and lipton. Lime is very controversial in ttc and pregnancy. You can take little bit of lemon and honey in plain water if you still need to. Go to the Dr soon so that you can start on antenatal drugs which is very very important seeing that you're not taking any Prenatals.

no1 seems 2notice my questn since yestday. pls ma, help me interpte dis scan, its serial follicular monitoring scan. Done on cd 13, right ovarian follicle is 50mm,left ovarian follicle is 1.7,uterus is 37 mm AP, 37mm TS, 83 mm LS. Endometrium is ovaries L: 23*23*41 mm. Pls wat is wrong?do i v cyst? Is there chances of ovulating
Sis don't say that now and don't be annoyed. @ Sugah answered you yesterday and I agree with her that's why I didn't comment further. I believe it's possible that's why other Mamas also passed cos you've been provided an answer.

Your Uterus is normal size. Am not clear on what you posted for the endometrium (Uterine Lining). The right follicle measuring 50mm is already overgrown (too big) and could be considered a functional cyst that will resolve on its own most likely. If left ovarian follicle is 1.7 then it's way too small to result in Ovulation but if it's 17mm then it's likely you'll ovulate from the left soon as it's a mature follicle. You can maybe start trying other ways of monitoring Ovulation like checking your CM and charting your temperature also paying attention to other signs like hot temps, flu like feeling, Ovulation pain from the left or right side to guide you. Also try to avoid stress (mental and physical), get adequate sleep and rest as these affect Ovulation as well.

tomorrow is my day 3 in this cycle
i.intend to do my hormonal profile test but the issue is that day 21 will fall on easter sunday and am doubting if they will open
my question now is will doing the test non day 22 be okay or day 20?
Yes it will still be okay. The benchmark I think is between Day 21-24 but 21 being the most optimal and preferred.

yes it's the Omega combo
so funny that the pix has refused to upload
but suggested usage : as a dietary supplement take 2 softgels 1 to 3 times daily with meals
The pic has uploaded and I've seen it. I'll suggest you take 2 softgels morning and night. That will give you 4000mg per day. Mine is 3600mg per day, I've only taken for about 3days now and I've seen a very good difference down there meaning that it's already working on my hormones. If you start getting too much veejay fluid, you can reduce your dosage to 2 either in the morning or night.

Thanks greats mamas for the maturity here. I also appreciate d congratulations despite the fact that I did not announce it properly but u still showed level of humility. I'm like whao, this is indeed a great family. Concerning dat doctor, I might not be able 2 go in2 details cos hubby knows my moniker nd he might not be happy with me revealing d personnal experience I had with him cos our case was issue of male infertility so hubby is involved. No doubt, I think he's good and I do not want 2 dissuade other mamas from receiving their blessing. But I have a very similar case with fvine but my case was not fibroid but male infertility. In fact, hubby who is very gentle doesn't wanna hear the doctor's name in his house. He used some hurtful words. Like natural conception will never be possible nd so many words dt diminished hubby's ego just cos he wanted us 2 do in ivf. As a matter of fact, don't wanna go in2 2 much details . He said male infertility can never be cured except ivf. Meanwhile hubby has a little bit above 10 million count nd 70% motility . We insisted on IUI but he said it's not possible.
This was in last year Nov. Prior 2 dat hubby was on fertility drugs which improved his country greatly. We went 2 our private doctor who told me dat what i am doing first is what what i shld b doing last. Nd he was really upset that a doctor will tell me 2 go 4 ivf when I do not have any complications. I mean all test came out clean. He just placed hubby on some drugs and I conceived 2 months after that.
At mama dat asked what I used, nothing special. Our case was male infertility. In fact I did not know I had conceived until 3 days ago. In mid Feb. I was having serious abdominal cramps nd which made go 4 scan at a roadside lab. It was discovered I had a 2cm fibroid nd i came 2 ttc thread 2 complain. I was engrossed in looking for solution for fibroid nd i didn't even read d note at bottom of d result which says pt test required. About 3 days ago d cramps persisted nd i went 2 d hospital having missed my period. Dr said I should go 4 another scan 2 ascertain d size of d fibroid. Lo nd behold, there was a growing foetus nd no fibroid was seen. I did blood test nd tested positive. Went 2 another lab, also tested positive.
Mamas pls I never insulted 2. We r e mamas. I draw so much inspirations on both threads. Ttc nd ivf thread. I was once in ur situation nd i know how it feels. God will answer all our prayers. Nd pls I gain nothing from destroying his reputation. He's good no doubt but he's interested in money as well not considering what pple r going thru. Dat was y I was amazed dat someone was bold enough 2 say it does way it is. I don't want 2 narrate all d event that happened and I don't want 2 spoil his reputation. What is my profit nd no angel is anywhere like donatee rightly said.
Thanks for taking your time to share this. Am glad you did. Praying for a happy and healthy pregnancy and childbirth for you, Amen. Just calm down and stop responding. Me I've decided not to drag issues with anyone. I have shared my experience and that's it, exactly what the thread is for.

He's good no doubt but he's interested in money as well not considering what people are going through and prefers couples going for IVF than helping them get results with minimal spending and pains. How can a Fertility Specialist say that there's no cure for mild Oligospermia except ivf? He also said that to us. I thank God that it turned out that am not the only one and @ Sugah confirmed that it was still the same story I told her in person when the incident was still fresh. Anyone is free to believe it or not. We are all entitled to our own opinion and views.

You keep saying "dis" without mentioning the name of what you're referring to, it makes it confusing. If you're talking about the Omega combo, just take the number of Capsules as recommended on the bottle all through your cycle. It's safe all through.

Really surprised at your experience with Doctor Emeka but I guess everyone's experience and perspective will always be different and affect our perception of things.

Not to take away from your post but two things seriously surprised me in your post. First is the point about him being money focused and second is him convincing you of IVF. Really sad if true and very hard to believe for me especially because my friend and I had a very different experience.

I used doctor Emeka August last year and honestly he never bothered me about payments which I made at my convenience. In fact, 12weeks into my friends pregnancy she still had an outstanding balance of almost 500k to pay and got no disturbance from him. I completely understand your point too as I have fibroid as well but I do not talk about it or see it as an issue simply because Doctor Emeka told me it wasn't an issue and I believed him. My fibroid is in addition to PCOS sef. Today, I'm more than 30weeks gone after my first IVF attempt with him. My friend also got her BFP on her first attempt after me at Olive Branch.

Again, individual experiences which shape our perspectives differs. I'm happy to read your post which states the occurrence happened early 2015. If true, he's obviously a better person now as my experience was a great one.

Can I also say thank you for waiting till now to share your experience? I'm saying thank you because I would probably not used him if you had come out to share your experience on time and that effectively means I would I've passed on the opportunity to get his excellent service and my baby at olive Branch.

As someone here has mentioned, beyond reading experiences, do your own research. May God pick up the calls of all those about to conceive. Amen.
Thanks for responding maturely and congratulations on your Pregnancy. Wishing you continued blessings and happiness.

I don't doubt his knowledge or professionalism, I believe that he knows the job very well. I am not even condemning him to be money minded but even if he is it wouldn't take away from him knowing the job. I only think his judgement was clouded because at that time he was just moving into his own site out of George's, the place was still under renovation and he probably needed money. Just my perception and experience.

Please where is your Fibroid located and what's the size and number? These really matter in fertility and conception.

Hnmmm wow.ll like to read ur story.
What if some of us r also thinking staff of other clinics are decampaiging him here.IVF is now big biz u know.
Yes that's a possibility and also there's the possibility of him campaigning here too. But let me expressly state that I am not campaigning for anyone as I have nothing to gain. Read my signature, that sums me up on this ttc threads. The current Dr am using is even in the Eastern part of the country and does not do IVF therefore I can now way be campaigning for him here where majority of the people reside in Lagos, PH and Abj. I have to also let you know that in my opinion Dr Emeka of Olive Branch had everything to gain in how he treated my case. It's possible he wanted to do the 1st IVF, collect the money, then do the Myomectomy or another Fibroid removal procedure, pocket the money and then convince me again to go for a 2nd IVF. I know you might be saying that's me thinking extreme but believe me the human mind is deceptive and capable of stuff especially where money is involved. N1m + on IVF no be here my sister. I had to think right, left, front and centre and above all prayed and God led me.

@ icesnow please share your experience at Olive Branch and also your conception experience on how you finally conceived. You could be empowering someone. Congrats and this is praying that you have a healthy and happy Pregnancy and childbirth, Amen. Take good care of yourself.

Some people am sure don't have all the rosy experience but are afraid to share cos of what 'supporters club' will say, that was what my friend told me, that she doesn't want anyone to attack her, but that doesn't help at all. Let's help ourselves and be plain.

As far as you pay your own bills, don't be afraid of anyone, share your views.

Above all, prayer is the key factor to choosing the best treatment place.
This is exactly my thoughts and what I was trying to say. You just helped me say it very clearly. Thank you.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Fvine:
Godmerciesss:
Well, I ll recommend Dr Emeka any day anytime anywhere as particular situations shld not b generalised.
He has nothing to gain or lose by u doing or not doing myomectomy. Its nice u went somewhere else since you were not convinced of his diagnosis. At least ur mind ll b at rest.
Now, ALL and I repeat ALLfertilyy treatments starts wit agreements by d parties EVERY WHRRE IN D WORLD. 'Scary' or otherwise.
I had to speak up for ds man here so that individual sentiments does not translate to negatives bout quality at Olive branch. They r v v v professional and know exactly what they r doing!!!
Shallom
I never condemned or questioned his and his staff professionalism. Don't get me wrong they were very nice and all and appeared very knowledgeable and seem to know what they were doing. That's part of why what he did was a shocker to me. What baffles me is why he kept on trying to convince me to do ivf knowing fully well that the Fibroids even will go further to decrease my chances? All I can say is that I feel that his need for money at that time over clouded his judgement. Perhaps his plan was to try luck with the 1st IVF and collect the money, if it works fine, if it doesn't work well I'll get sweet talked into removing the Fibroids ( he can actually say that the ivf drugs made them grow bigger or some other story that will sell) and pocketing the money and then convince me to do another ivf. All I know is that he put money first before the patient and the diagnosis probably because he was just moving into his new site away from George's and needed money. That's my thought.

In fact he didn't even discuss our results or even showed them to us but kept on hammering on IVF. when we later asked to see all the tests that was done, he tried to convince us that there was no need but we insisted that we needed copies and he reluctantly gave us. It turned out that the N188k we paid for testing was just for him to do HIV, Hepatitis B, Pelvic Scan and SFA test. I for no mind because fertility things can be costly and he's in a highbrow area and his hospital is posh except for the Mis-yarn on my Fibroids.

I do believe they know what they are doing but all am trying to say is that women should do their own research even on Drs diagnosis and get 2nd opinions. I even sought 2nd and 3rd opinion outside the country and was told it was near impossible to be able to carry a successful pregnancy with the submucous Fibroids except it's a miracle from God. I have no reason to want to tarnish his reputation or anything. I have nothing to gain. All am doing is trying to help myself and other people on this journey of ttc by sharing what I know, have learned and/or have experienced.

On the agreement, yes of course it could be quite normal But it was the contents that helped opened my husband's eye and I was able to convince him with the other reports I got abroad that it wasn't going to work. Anyways it's God that gives children and it's only him that can make any treatment work but do know that he uses physicians and therefore these physicians will only be doing well by using the knowledge God has given them properly.

If you say my opinion on my experience is an individual sentiment, then your opinion too is don't you think. For instance I have a new Dr that I feel is awesome but even when I mention him to people, I tell them that they shouldn't take my word and experience, I encourage them to follow their minds and spirit on either to go with him or not. I have nothing to gain or lose whichever Hospital or Dr someone here uses or doesn't use either way. We're all entitled to our opinion, am only sharing my experience. I enjoin everyone to share their experiences and true feelings without malice irrespective of whether it goes against the popular opinion of the Dr or hospital on the thread.

Hi wonderful mamas in the house. i have been TTC for 2years without luck. I haven't gone for any check up but i have taken 50mg of clomid ones. I keep good tract of my days and have tried severally without success. My husband says we should believe and trust in God, i do believe and trust in him but i think at this point i need medical assistance. Please someone should advise me on what best to do.
Your husband is right on one part, that you should trust and believe God but then God equipped the physicians here on earth and he uses them to help us. You need to get testing done as its 2years now. You can try to talk to him and convince him to let you at least get a basic pelvic scan done and gradually you can also do all the other tests and also get him to get tested as well. You're the only one that can talk to him. Please stop self medicating on Clomid, you can be causing more harm than good.

You're welcome to the thread and may God bless your stay to be fruitful and short.

@anikeayun do u freeze ur cucumber n date juice?
You're already on the right track but don't take honey too much as it all adds up to your carb intake. Continue limiting your carbs and up your protein plus your exercise. Remember to drink lots of water. Carbs are the culprit.

Note that the DATES & CUCUMBER JUICE is for WEIGHT GAIN. But Cucumber alone and Watermelon is good for weight loss and will keep you looking fresh.Although if you have PCOS, Watermelon and Pineapple is not advisable.

All Mamas that have PCOS (Cysters) especially the Overweight Cysters, please research Inositol. Am reading lots of success stories on it. It is advised to take an Inositol supplement that has Choline too. Inositol helps in weight loss and fat distribution in the body, Choline helps in its effective absorption. Inositol is naturally produced in the body and gotten from food but it has been found to be in inadequate quantities in Cysters. Inositol in adequate quantities in the body also helps to prevent miscarriage in the 1st trimester which usually happens to Cysters that their hormones are not balanced then.Just thought I should share. Am planning to join the Inositol bandwagon soon. Una doh oh !
