finecheek12:Your gynae is correct, most pcos (fat cysters) have been able to loose weight and conceive while on metformin. I'll suggest you also include portion control and eating Healthy, with exercise (walking is very good) while on the drug it will help you. The diet for PCOS women is low Carbohydrates, high protein, Lots of Vegetables and low Glycemic Index Fruits. That is Fruits like English Pear, Apple that don't cause a sudden and high spike in insulin when consumed. Lots of water and exercise too, even just walking works. I don't know about the interaction of both drugs as a fact but women on some online forums have combined the both drugs successfully. What one should be careful of is combining Maca with other supplements. Maca works very well in balancing the hormones on its own but interacts negatively with other hormone related supplements. This includes any phytoestrogens, progesterone creams, DIM and even Evening Primrose Oil. I just learnt this an decided to share. |
pweetymii:Drop of brown blood at night before the full flow is nothing to be worried about. 26 days cycle is OK. But you need to find out when you ovulate cos it will help you to BD at the right time and also check how many days you have after ovulation to the day of your next period to be sure you don't have a luteal phase defect which is easily corrected with Vit B6 or Vit B Complex. Abeg AF is another opportunity to conceive, after AF comes Ovulation. Praise God and enjoy your Ginger/Garlic tea and confess in praise to God that this is your cycle for your healthy bfp. |
miraclefromGod:Thanks for the correction. I stand corrected. I've heard that Lime is quite controversial in ttc some say it's ok but majority say it's not. But everyone agrees that Lemon is safe for ttc and all round so make we just run comot from the controversial lime. Will substitute the Lime in @ Ayaayo recipe with lemon, hopefully it works too. @ Ayaayo please see miraclefromGod correction. Let's stay away from the controversial lime. Whenever I try it, I'll share how it worked for me. ![]() And yes Lime is very bad for Men, weakens the swimmers. That na true talk. Gbam! |
FOR HEALTHY WEIGHT GAIN To gain weight, grind and mix Cucumber with Dates (Dabino) and drink regularly. Dates is very sweet but it's natural sugar so it's not harmful. Dates (Dabino) is brown and sold by Hausa Men (Northerners) or in big Supermarkets like Shoprite and Goodies in Lagos (Seen it in packs there). The mixture helps people gain weight in a healthy way. Cucumber is a natural detoxify and very hydrating too. Also boosts Production of Cervical Mucus. Remember to remove the seed of the Dates (Dabino) before grinding Reduce Milo (All beverages), they're high in artificial sugars. Peak Milk is still better off, high in protein and good fats but I think you should take in moderation especially if you check the ingredients and it has added sugar. Refined Sugar and Refined Carbohydrates are no good at all. Not good for the body and definitely not good for ttc. Take all artificial foods in little quantity once in a long while and with time you'll be able to eliminate them completely which is the best. |
Icesnow:Don't be down please, stress and sadness aggravates Fibroids and bad for health and ttc generally. Where is your Fibroid located? Location is key in Fibroids and Fertility. Perhaps your Dr says it's not a problem because it's small and not in a location that will affect conception. It is the Submucous Fibroids that is the most dangerous to conception and pregnancy. Subserous Fibroids does not affect conception, Intramural Fibroids too are also not that a threat. Mamas who have successfully shrank their Fibroids once online will share with you what and how they did. But overall, de-stress, try and balance your hormones as Fibroids are also a sign of estrogen dominance, Fibroids also feed of estrogen. Also detoxify, it will help Cleanse your livber and help it to function well especially with balancing hormones and taking care of high estrogen where present. Take care. |
Ayaayo:@ rgee , this is also a home remedy for increasing cervical mucus. Another Mama also said taking Lemons work. I think it was @ marcjane who said so. Don't be scared of lemon, they're acidic but once they go inside the body they go alkaline and also make the body alkaline which is optimal for health. Just dilute with water before drinking. Please don't let the in laws stress get to you, it will only stress you out disrupting your body balance and causing more harm than good. Stress generally even affects health, fertility and pregnancy. You don't want to get stressed, lose health and not conceive and the in laws continue with their stress and the vicious cycle continues. Do your hormonal test, let your hubby do a Seminal Analysis to rule out issues on his side above all hand it all over to God. He promised that none shall be barren, let's believe, trust, have hope, do our part as humans, leave the rest to him and soon enough he'll surely bless us with our own children, Amen. Take care and God bless. |
Fvine:@ rgee please read post above for answer to your complaint on your little cervical mucus. Some of our Mamas currently in the pushing ministry have also said that they had little to no CM the month they conceived, so don't sweat it just do what you can from the above to improve it. Don't do all at once oh, just choose one option you like. |
miraclefromGod:Ok thanks. I didn't know. I learn daily. I didn't notice weight loss when I was taking mine but that might be because I was too fat then and hormones were out of whack and pcos making weight loss difficult. |
4realwoman:Thanks for updating, my body for catch fire with @ wholesomegrace holy anger. How I for quench am I no know. also add @ triangullar if she's not on the list already. @ all newbies and oldies alike, even if your name is not on the prayer list, most of us even after praying as per the list, prays generally for all on the ttc thread and the pregnancy after ttc thread, so you're covered by the group prayers anyhow. Una doh oh ! ![]() |
Loisemm:You can detoxify with bitters if that's what you want to do. I doubt it will make you loose weight, I didn't loose weight when I used one popular non alcoholic bitters from ghana, can't remember the name now. To gain weight, grind and mix Cucumber with Dates (Dabino) and drink regularly. Dates is very sweet but it's natural sugar so it's not harmful. Dates (Dabino) is brown and sold by Hausa Men (Abokis) or in big Supermarkets like Shoprite and Goodies in Lagos (Seen it in packs there). The mixture helps people gain weight in a healthy way. Cucumber is a natural detoxify and very hydrating too. Also boosts Production of Cervical Mucus. Reduce Milo (All beverages), they're high in artificial sugars. |
Fvine:@ triangullar , please read this my quoted post for some information on pcos management. The recommended pcos diet is low Carbohydrates, High Protein and Vegetables. You can loose weight in various ways even just by portion control and making healthy choices plus exercises. I have done several things to lose weight in the past including supplements. If you need a pcos friendly crash diet that will bring down your weight fast before you then go on a management diet to maintain what you've lost/control your weight, I will suggest you try the Egg Fast Diet (It's high Protein, High Fat and Low Carb, good for pcos). You do it for a few days then rest for a few days eating low Carbohydrates, high protein, high Vegetables and then back to Egg Fast again. I did this cycle last year and lost 14kg over 4 months which I have maintained since July that I stopped. You also need to work on balancing your hormones which will help with weight loss, weight loss in turn also helps with hormonal imbalance. There's always something one can do to lose weight no matter what your budget is. You just need to find out what you can do. Am here to support you through your weight loss journey, I've been there myself and still continue trying to reach a more healthy weight as am still currently slightly overweight by bmi standards. But I go more by dress size and measurements not just weight so am not too bothered as am very close to even the bmi goal weight for my height. |
Orente21:Please think very well oh before quitting your job, your job might have nothing to do with your ttc. How far is your place of work really and how stressful is what you do? Even bankers who undergo all manner of stress and live far from home and carry to term. Although generally stress plays a huge role in ttc and pregnancy but everybody's system is different. What works for one might not work for the other though. If you really want to, why not look for a job closer home before quitting. Staying idle is not good and can even affect your psychology (at least it did mine when I was home & not working). Also the current economic situation. Another option might be if you & your hubby are buoyant enough and agree, you might go into business to have flexi time for yourself. Idleness shouldn't be an option please. Pray to God for wisdom and to open your eyes to the issues and to take the right decisions. Some decisions should not be taking hastily. You have ttc for just a few cycles not up to one year and your posts screams that you're putting your self under psychological stress. It seems like you're worrying rather than just being proactive. They're 2 different things. Please Sis stop worrying. I pray you conceive soon before the 1year mark. I've responded to your question on tests in an earlier post. just check few posts above |
Orente21:No go vex for your friend oh, she was only trying to help in her own way, even my mom once advised me to try clomid which is bad for Fibroids which I had. I want to also add to what other Mamas have said, Clomid is for Ovulation induction for women who are not ovulating and is best prescribed and monitored by a Dr although I know that here in 9ja it is an Over the Counter (OTC) drug. What if your problem is not Ovulation but something else or even nothing just that it's not yet God's time? You'll just be doing more harm than good. The best thing to do is to have a diagnosis of an issue before you start looking for home remedies or Orthodox medicine as prescribed by your Dr or based on the experience and/or prescription of others Mamas here. |
Chyvia:I know you're referring to this post when you said that someone should answer you. I have no experience with Clean Point Tampon and have never seen it thats why I jump the question pass. Am responding now so you won't feel like you're being ignored. @ Mumihaja sells clean point Tampon so she might have an answer, other Mamas who have also used it might know so just be patient am sure once someone who has an answer is online they'll respond. Sorry for the cramps and pains, hope you're feeling much better now. Take care. |
@ Tsquaure, please teach me how to quote double posts in one post like you did in a few posts back. Any other sabi Mama who knows how to do this should also help. TIA. |
Orente21:Pelvic scan is better done after AF. The Fertility tests done CD 3 is hormonal profile of Prolactin, FSH etc and Progesterone CD 21 although some Drs do all the hormonal profile CD21. Just wait for your AF to finish well, wait a few days and then go for the pelvic scan. |
venizia:Learnt how to check profile shares, likes etc thanks to @ PresVa and just discovered this post from last year, so I just decided to quote as a way of bumping it up to get the Mama who was recently diagnosed of Blocked Tubes and Hydrosalphinx to maybe give this regime a trial. I know Guaifebao & Clean point was recommended for you when you posted, just thinking maybe you should add the Gynapharm by Kedi as mentioned above. God Bless. |
PresVA:Thanks for explaining. See my Nairaland Olodo things I always see things like that on my profile like Shares, Mentions, Likes etc but never bothered to check what they really are. I only check when am sent a Private Message. Abeg make I go check my profile to discover things for myself *runs* ![]() |
kweenkong:You forgot to add, be happy and de-stress. Remember to be careful with the Vit E. You can get the combination combo capsule of Omega 3,6 & 9 like Mumihaja posted sometime. My Dr intact prescribed it for me as its safe to take all through the cycle. Also BD like no tomorrow especially at the right time (Fertile window). If you're unsure, BD every 2-3days. You're on point, take 5, nothing do you, carry go joor! Na you biko.
|
Orente21:I doubt if that's what she means, what she's trying to say is that you shouldn't get too bothered since its normal to one year. According to medical literature, it can take healthy couples up to 1year to conceive and as a rule of thumb especially in western countries Drs dont treat young couples except they clock one year ttc or older couples (I think btwn 30 -35yrs upwards) when they clock 6months ttc. But that one no be for 9ja. Even if you've ttc for just 3 cycles, a gynae will still see you and check you out but will admonish you for being too hasty. To be proactive in Nigeria here, what people (including me, that's what I did) usually do is to go to a lab and get pelvic scan and Fertility tests done on their own and if any abnormality is spotted, they then look for and visit a gynae. To be proactive is not bad, just don't stress as stress affects the body and conception. |
Orente21:Oya begin now to reject every spirit of Coke and receive the spirit of taking lots of water and taking small portions of natural carbohydrate foods and more of proteinous food. It's very good that you already take lots of fruits and vegetables and your bd is also on point. Also ensure you know your Fertility window and BD then. But if you're consistently BDing 3times a week, you'll definitely get it covered. Bmi is Body Max Index, the ratio of your weight to your height. I can't remember the formula but there are lots of online and offline bmi calculators available. Your bmi is a guide to whether you're underweight, healthy weight, overweight, obese or morbidly obese. If you can provide your weight and height, I can help you check on the app on my phone or better still you can just Google bmi calculators and check for yourself. |
kweenkong:Amen to your prayers. You're on the right track, some women conceive after losing considerable weight as this balances out hormones and puts the body in a healthy state too making the body very optimal all round. As for Vit E, please stop taking after Ovulation. It's not good in a high dose for early pregnancy, can disturb implantation or cause early miscarriage. On your weight loss, you go gurl! you got this!. You must not even use Clean 9, you can start making healthy choices with portion control and light exercises like walking and you'll lose weight too. Detoxification also helps. Usually the first test done is a Pelvic Scan followed by Hormonal Assay. For your hubby it's SFA (Seminal Fluid Analysis) which will check his swimmers all round. |
Ugommazan:Welcome Sis, and may stay here be short and fruitful. Biko don't be very worried, just be worried enough to take the right steps/actions. Being very worried will only disrupt your system and can even affect you from conceiving. May this not be your portion IJN, Amen. Just go to any lab and ask them to do Fertility tests for you and your husband, if they do and now discover any abnormality, then you can then take the result to a good gynae/hospital.If nothing is amiss, then you can just relax and pray that God's time for you comes sooner. That's how I started my ttc journey. You've only tried for 7 cycles, note that according to medical literature it can take healthy couples up to 1year to conceive so please don't be very worried, carry out tests, try to get to know your body so that you know when you're Fertile and meet with your husband accordingly as that is the koko. At the last Fertility seminar I attended at my hospital, my Dr said that people with cycles as long as 40days can conceive. Long cycles are not a problem if it's normal for the woman in question. The key thing is knowing your fertile window and meeting with your hubby then. 33-35 is also not that long. Find out when you ovulate if you don't know currently, that will also help you know how long your luteal phase is (ie the number of days after ovulation before your next period). Luteal phase length is also important in conception and if short, as simple as taking Vit B6 or Vit B Complex can correct it. You need to know your body and your Fertility. I don't know about your question on your flow but it was recently mentioned by another Mama and somebody gave her an advice which she tried and confirmed that it worked for her. Both Mamas involved or any other sabi Mama who knows once online will provide an answer for you. Take care and God bless |
rejoice03:Thanks for your prayers for us and congratulations again. Am not sure of your question but I've read that in early pregnancy increasing water intake helps with the cramps as sometimes the cramps is your body telling you that you need water. I'll suggest you also ask at the "Pregnant after TTC " thread, lots of experienced and currently pregnant Mamas there, you'll get answers faster there I think than here. Also talk to your Dr, but please dont take any medication that is not prescribed by your Dr. It can be fatal. That shall not be your portion, Amen. The preggy and experienced sabi Mamas here am sure will also answer when they come online. I believe some Mamas here are on 2nd, 3rd ... missionary journey and might know. |
ayashow:You're always welcome Dear. It's all God. I don't know it all but continue to learn here and elsewhere daily. I only give back what I've learned. I've also gotten lots of knowledge and support from Mamas here over the years and still continue to. In fact even with my recent Myomectomy, the Mamas here who have undergone the procedure encouraged me when I started having cold feet the last moments, I made a post here and got several encouraging replies; some of these Mamas where also and continue to be one of the greatest support immediately after the surgery and up till now. They were checking up on me severally throughout the day and I constantly disturbed them with questions on every twitch and itch I felt while at the hospital. Just generally getting support and trying to double check what my Dr was telling me and knowing that am on the right path. I thank God I pulled through and all is well. Amen to your prayers. We are 2016 mothers #confessionbringsconception |
ojac1:Sorry Dear, I missed that out. It's just one on the left side and could be a functional cyst that will resolve on its own after Ovulation. "Follicular cysts are the most common type of ovarian cyst. A female human has two ovaries, small round organs which release an egg every month. The egg moves into the uterus (womb), where it can be fertilized by a male sperm. The egg is formed in the follicle, which contains fluid to protect the growing egg. When the egg is released, the follicle bursts. In some cases, the follicle either does not shed its fluid and shrink after releasing the egg, or does not release an egg. The follicle swells with fluid, becoming a follicular ovarian cyst. Typically, one cyst appears at any one time and normally goes away within a few weeks (without treatment)" |
ayashow:Please go for another scan in a new cycle to confirm, don't just rely on this one alone. You might be ovulating just that it might be a poor Ovulation and the Egg is not usually God enough. With that said, My Dear Sis, you're not alone. That's also the Drs report for me : PCOS, Hormonal Imbalance and High Prolactin (Lacting Boobs / Galactorrhea). My Dr told me that cysts are caused by hormonal imbalance and that once the hormones are balanced, the cysts get resolved. For PCOS it can be managed through balancing the hormones and using Ovulation induction drugs. There are several drugs and supplements for this. Different Drs use different protocols. Some combine drugs with supplements like inositol, Omega 3,6 & 9. One of the ways of managing PCOS is by changing your diet to a low Carbohydrates diet, loosing weight if you're a fat/overweight cyster. My pcos and hormonal imbalance has gotten better since I lost weight. There are some women who are slim (thin cysters) but still have PCOS, it's still beneficial that they go on a low carb diet and eat healthy, in their case weight loss is not needed. High Prolactin and leaking Boobs have been discussed recently with lots of home remedies and Orthodox remedies. You can go with any of it. My Dr prescribed Dostinex 1 tablet same day each week for the leaky Boobs. Then Omega 3 & 6 which can be safely taken throughout the cycle for hormonal imbalance. He said he might have to give me Ovulation drugs when we get back to ttc again (still on Myomectomy recovery). He said it depends on the status of my labs. He might also do Ovulation drugs for me because I told him I want to ttc twins but all will be dependent on my lab status then. He said pcos women have the tendency of releasing multiple eggs especially when given a little help so care needs to be taken in given the help to avoid 4,5,6 ... babies in one pregnancy. Am praying for twins but won't even mind Triplets sef. All you've stated is no big deal according to my Dr, they're easily treated and managed for a woman to conceive and have children. Your Dr just needs to work with you and with God everything will work out fine so don't be bothered so much, just be bothered enough to take the right action, hope you get my drift. Also note that some PCOS women get pregnant without the Drs help just by making lifestyle changes to their diets, drinking lots of water throughout the day, exercising and all which helps balance the hormones and takes care of the PCOS. Besides God works directly too just as he also works through Drs. I'll suggest you visit this site for women with PCOS, I've found information there and women's experiences there very useful. I always discuss what I learn there with my Dr and he seems to agree with most. The website is www.soulcysters.net It is well, we shall get our bfps this year, Amen. Take care and God bless. |
stina4u:Hello Sis, good to see you posting cheerfully and believing God. Hope you're continuing to hold unto God's report and not the medical report. God who defied the medical report and did it for you before will surely do it again. Continue praising him and having fun BD with your DH. And once you pocketful just go to a new Dr/hospital for evaluation & help that's if you don't belleful first. Our God is a God of miracles. Take care and have a blessed day. |
Please where does shared posts go? I keep seeing share on some posts, I decided to click share on one of my post to see what will happen but nothing. It only wrote 1 Share on the post so I just clicked "unshare" and the "1 share" disappeared. TIA. |
4realwoman:Just bumping the updated list for myself and others who might need it. I'll be saving this current list so that I don't come running here every morning looking for the day. ![]() Please be kind to alert us if you make any additions or subtractions for people who announce bfp's. Thanks for this. You too much Dear ! |
@rejoice03, congratulations. Thank God for the wisdom for you to remind them and they got you on progesterone. You shall have a happy, healthy pregnancy and childbirth, this is your take home baby in Jesus name, Amen. We are rejoicing with you and keying into your blessing for our own. @ peterian, how far? have you tested yet? waiting for your bfp announcement. Dear Lord please let there be a bfp overflow on this thread from now on as we work as humans but with all our hope and trust in you, Amen. All glory is yours, now and forever, Amen. @ Sugah dear, abeg take it easy at work. Also all our Mamas in the pushing ministry including those who just got their bfp, please no stressing, take things softly softly. H & H Pregnancy and Childbirth to you all, Amen. Good morning all and do have a great day. Don't forget our prayers. |
foe123:Yes you can. Fish Oil is just oil extracted from deep sea fishes which is rich in nutrients like Omega 3. It will just be like eating fish so I believe it won't interact negatively with clomid. Am praying you return with a bfp since it seems that Ovulation issue is the only issue you have. Clomid has several days you can start depending on the result needed. So yes clomid can be started on day 2,3,5 and taken normally for 5days but some Drs do extended clomid cycle and patients take it for more than 5days. Follow your Drs instruction and stick to the most popular 5days if that's what he advised. I think one of the days increases chances of multiple eggs while one of the days will provide one egg that will be very good and solid. Take care. |
