mrsfrank:How long have you been on Vitex? Vitex regulates all hormones and also brings down high Prolactic levels. Am not a Dr so I can only tell you what I've read from researches and experiences of other women in forums I belong to. Vitex does not have a negative interaction with Dostinex. Some women have taken only Vitex with good results while I also found that some women have also combined both especially women with very high/extremely high levels of Prolactin with success. I believe it takes about 3 months for you to see changes on with Vitex. Dostinex takes 1-2months. You'll need to know what your current levels and how long you've been on vitex to determine what you need to do and to also have a baseline for comparison. Also get the physical high Prolactin / Fluid coming out from the breast tips down now and repeat after a few months. If you've been on Vitex for close to 3months, then maybe should complete it for 3months and check your levels again, then you can decide on Dostinex or not. |
finecheek12:Dear Sis, sorry that you're going through this and feeling this way. God is a miracle worker and works in so many ways. While you're contemplating your gynaes suggestion, I'll go with Ayashow advice. Try Clean Point Tampon from Mumihaja, Guaifebao, Castor Oil Pack Therapy with faith and prayers for the suggested period time, am not sure how many months. So many Mamas here have successfully used Clean Point Tampon and Guaifebao Princess Pearls to unblock their tubes. If after doing all this and it boils down to cutting off your tubes and ivf, please don't hesitate to commit it to God and go for it. Hydrosalphinx in the tubes kills off implanted embroyos if at all they implant or causes early miscarriage so a good specialist will not allow you do ivf with hydrosalphinx. The lady who started the ivf/iui/icsi ttc thread went through this and had to get her tubes off after the hydrosalphinx kept on getting in the way. Be calm, the lord is your strength and will put smiles on your face soon. Stop counting your years in marriage less you keep getting depressed. The way of God is not the way of men. Our own very Nennynj who just declared her bfp recently got it after 9 years of marriage. I can only imagine the immense joy. I pray that yours is sooner than you know it and you shall not count added years to this again, Amen. Your testimony is right around the corner IJN amen. Take care. |
liliamaka2003:Please don't risk your Money. A mama used their product N180k for shrinking Fibroids and it didn't work. Please go to LUTH and let him see a Urologist. N250k will be enough to get correct treatment you'll be sure of in LUTH. I've read on the health section here but on a male infertility thread of a guy who got treated for Varicocele in LUTH successfully. Please if I were you, I'd rather spend the money in a specialist hospital than in a company supplement making promises that you cant verify or be guaranteed of. If you're not in LUTH, go to the teaching hospital in your state or a good hospital with a Urologist. A Urologist will evaluate and give him treatment options. It's not all Varicocele that requires surgery. Varicocele surgery is not a major surgery per se. I think it requires only a days stay at the hospital and the man will be up and about his normal routine after a few days. Put all in prayers, let him see a Urologist who can better evaluate him and advise. Am sure if surgery is the way God wants it to go, then God will make his path cross with a Urologist that will convince him and he'll also be comfortable with to have the surgery done. That's what happened with me and my Fibroids removal surgery. In the meanwhile he can continue taking things to boost his sperm. Aya (Tiger Nuts / Aki Awusa) this contains Zinc that works great on swimmers, Onion Juice mixed with Honey, thats for natural remedies. The supplement Manix did wonders for my DH's count, Addyzoa is also good, a combination of Fertilaid for Men, Count Boost and Motility Boost worked great all round for my DH. |

chigirl45:Dostinex and Parlodel is non prescription meaning you can walk into a pharmacy and buy it yourself but Dostinex is pricey sha, I don't know about Parlodel. I know the cost in Lagos is high, I can't remember how much but in Anambra state, it goes for N4,500 - N5,000. Am not a Dr so I can't advise you to go on any of this medication. I only shared my experience. But if your Dr is not worried, instead of self medicating, I'll advice you try using the natural remedies which will help with the discharge and is also something one eats normally. |
iomoge2:Don't be worried. Like miraclebaby said, even though your levels are normal, tell your Dr about the discharge. He'll review, marry both and decide on what to do. If seeing your gynae will take long, you can start with a natural remedy which I believe won't harm but help. |

@ Liliamaka2003, Maybe we all can't fully understand your pains because you're the one going through it but believe me some of us can still relate to your pains as we've been through pains in various forms. Some somewhat like yours financial issues + in laws + ttc or In various combinations. Please I know you're human but never believe that your marriage is an imprisonment. It is only natural for you to think so. A lady who celebrated 60years of marriage and was a guest speaker during my marriage class told us that severally at different points in her marriage that she always thought of ending her marriage, thoughts of not loving her husband anymore, thoughts of how her marriage is a mistake but she told us that each time she thought of what made her marry her husband and what God says about marriage. She told us that after each dark phase and the sunshine phase comes, she thanks God and forgets that she was in the past few days regretting her marriage. She told the story in the presence of her Husband who concurred and even told his own gist of how during each dark phase he begins to think that's his wife brought him bad luck and thoughts of divorce too. But there they were celebrating 60 years in abundance of wealth, health and children. Maybe you can find a good time that your husband is calm and discuss calmly with him on seeking help from his father. If he disagrees with you, please don't despise him or argue. The truth is that the seed of that idea would have been down in his mind and sooner he might consider it, swallow his pride and ask for help. You can even suggest to go with him to talk to his father or you going alone if he's more comfortable that way. Believe me, I know it sounds like a cliché and many Mamas have said so but its only a phase which will pass and by the grace of the Almighty God, I pray that the expiry date of all your afflictions is sooner than you think, Amen. God does not give us more than we can handle and for whatever we're going through, he provides us with his grace. As for the Varicocele, it doesn't mean automatically that you won't be able to conceive. What Varicocele does is to reduce the quantity and the other parameters of a man's swimmers but remember that it takes just one good swimmer. I've read a lot of success stories of women who conceived with Varicocele in various forums. You can Google Varicocele success stories. Stay away from negativities. You'll soon tell this story with laughter and as a testimony of God's goodness. |
chigirl45:What range of normal is yours, Lower, Mid or on the High Range? The reason I ask is my range from several Lab results have always been on the high end of the normal range. My previous Drs never did a physical check so I never knew I was having discharge at my breast tips. With the current Specialist am seeing, I took my most recent lab results with me, he made notes and got a nurse to do a physical check, lo & behold I had clear discharge. I & my DH were shocked cos none of our previous Drs ever did this check. They always went with the lab test which always put me at the normal range. Anyways my Dr has placed me on Dostinex ( 1 Tab per week). He says I have to be on it till I get my bfp. I think Nennynj who just got her bfp also had this issue and was placed on either Parlodel or Dostinex which she continued taking till she got her bfp. With that being said, I think that if one has discharge from the breast tips, it should be treated even if your lab result puts you at a normal range. You can discuss with your Dr or if you don't want to go the route of orthodox medication, then you can go with home remedies. Sabi Mamas here have several, just make a post and ask. I think one is the Ewedu Therapy, Cabbage and Vit B6 but am not so sure on their usage. So you'll have to ask. |
ijay024:My Dear God will see you through, I pray for a successful surgery and speedy recovery. I know you must have tried alternative methods to get rid of the kidney stone. I know I read somewhere that there's an effective remedy involving Apple. I don't know if you've tried this. But please don't hold onto trying alternative healing if it's not working and surgery the way. I myself tried alternative methods to shrinking Fibroids for years and had to resort to surgery this January. Surgery went well and am doing very well. Believe me surgery is not scary as people make it seem at most times. Don't worry your bfp is right around the corner, sooner than you know it. As for the white thing and the tip of your breasts, is it liquid? if it's liquid and you wipe it off and it comes out again then it could be fluid as a result of high prolactin. it shows up either as a white fluid (milk like) or clear fluid. For some people it comes out freely while for some others it comes out when the breast is squeezed either gently or very hard in an outward direction. Take Care. |
happymummy:My Dear, Folic Acid is Folic Acid, no brand is better than the other. The only difference is the mg (quantity of Folic acid) of each tablet. Some Brands can be higher while others are lower. So just go with anyone you can lay your hands on. |
marcjane:Congrats Dear. May God make this a healthy bfp, healthy pregnancy, healthy baby and mother, Amen. Did you find out what caused your last miscarriage?. Please even as you commit this pregnancy to God, I'll suggest that you immediately go to your Dr to get the lab to check your progesterone. Some ladies need progesterone support in the first trimester to support the baby to avoid miscarrying. Happy Bumping. |
Congratulations Nennynj . I can only try to imagine your happiness. You'll have a wonderful and happy experience of pregnancy, your pregnancy shall be a healthy one and you'll deliver healthy baby(ies) as you asked of God. The voice of Mother and Child(ren) shall be heard after delivery, Amen. Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament of the Eucharist, We put all our hope & trust in you and thank you for this bfp and many more to come, Amen. What a wonderful God, What a Marvelous God! #bfpbyprayers, #bfpbyfaith, #bfpbytrust, #bfpbyhope |
fruitfulwoman:Amen to your prayer. There's no difference in the tests, the difference is the location. It's just like going to make hair in the market and going to a salon in a posh area in town, of course the price no go be the same nah. Also I think cities like Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abuja etc will be cheaper than some states. I've found even ATC drugs to be way more cheaper in Anambra state than in Lagos. Just thank God that you're in a state where ATC things are not so expensive. |
@ Pweetiebabe, check the instructions you were given, just like Redeemed said, it should be HSG on CD 8 and Hormonal Assay on CD21. The reason HSG is done earlier in the cycle and before Ovulation is to avoid using the dye to disrupt or flush out an egg and swimmer in the tube trying to form an embryo. @miraclefromGod, I think it might be better if you state zones / locations in Lagos like say Festac, Surulere, Ajah etc. Meanwhile I know LUTH is one of the recommended hospitals and if you read back a few posts, a Mama stated the Gynae days and even offered to help anyone coming to LUTH. Pweetiebabe also was at luth today and explained the process she went through. |
ejimikeokwu:Don't worry Dear. Sperm Motility does not affect a man's mh. And he performs other times so its just a Psyche thing. Thank God the Gynae said he's Motility is OK now. So just BD as regular as you can. It's just a matter of time then. May God answer you speedily, Amen. |
@ Ejimikeokwu, Nne don't worry it's just his psyche, maybe he does mental calculations and kinda knows that it might be around your Ovulation even if you don't tell him. But with time it will normalise. During your Fertile week, don't do anything that will make him know. Don't try to force BD or even initiate if he's usually the initiator so he'll not suspect anything. Just try to maintain regular BD. You don't necessarily have to BD on Ovulation day to fall preggy. I think healthy swimmers stay up to 3-5days in a woman waiting for an egg. So by my calculations if you BD 3days before Ovulation, it might take the Egg 1day to travel and the swimmers will still have about 1-2days life span left to meet the Egg. This is hypothetical though. What am trying to say is that it takes just one BD just immediately or during Fertile window for it to click. As for Proviron, I don't know anything about it. Other sabi Mamas can contribute. But if it's a regular Multivitamin, I don't think it will hurt anything. |
@ Cuddlemoi, no vex for your DH, just the way we feel ttc frustrations, our DHs also feel it just that they let out in different ways, he's a human too. Plus you sef check am nah, the infamous Valentine BD wey the man fit don dey prepare since, AF just come spoil show. Just carry on as normal, he'll come around. Try and find ways to ensure you guys enjoy your Valentine. You said it's been 1 year and 2months, if that's how long you've been trying then I think it's time for you and your DH to get tests done. I think the advise is for couples to get tested after 1year of trying on their own. |
hotmomma:Please stop stressing, its not good for Mamas going to conceive. I 2nd what Janix2 said and I concur with Udoomama. "There's no issue, no big deal, no problem just continue taking your drugs" is what I kept hearing and wasted years until I met this new Specialist that even encourages me to research and come with my questions in a notebook for my appointments. He tells me what the issue is, treatment options, the option he recommends for me and why. Abeg every good Dr is supposed to be open to his patients and answer all their questions satisfactorily. Please follow your mind discuss with your hubby and maybe you guys can find and change to a good gynae. You can post your location and Mamas here can recommend tested and trusted gynaes/hospitals that you can check out. On herbals, hmm (I breathe in & Out). Herbals can be good but bad sometimes. While I was in hospital, a lady there successfully cured an ailment with herbals but the herbals damaged her Kidneys and she's now being treated and on Kidney dialysis. I prayed for God to have mercy on her and heal her. I also thanked God for sparing my kidneys from all the herbals I took trying to shrink Fibroids I had. |

Since he recommended 3 Clomid cycles, maybe he wants to try just 3 to see how it goes before switching to another/other drugs or even injectibles is need be. I think most Drs do this. But my question is, which cycle of the Clomid are you on currently, 1st, 2ndor 3rd? Did he monitor your cycles to know if and how you're responding to the Clomid dosage to know if he needs to up or lower the dosage and even the state of your uterine wall? Clomid is to make you Ovulate or have a stronger Ovulation depending on what the situation is with you. So if clomid helps you achieve Ovulation or a stronger Ovulation then it can be said that it worked for you whether you achieved pregnancy or not. That's another matter entirely that could as a result of something or nothing just not God's time as it even takes normal healthy couples months sometimes before they conceive. With that being said, I'll advise you share whatever fears you have with your Dr and let him allay them. I always do this with my Dr and he's always very happy to answer and lecture me saying that he loves it when women do research and wants to know about these things, her body and her fertility. It's better you talk to him and ask questions before jumping ship. If he has only just started treating you with clomid then it tells me that you have only been with him for more or less 3-4months which I don't think is enough to judge and dump him. M2tone from what I've read is a good drug and also read that it goes well with clomid. I have no experience with M2tone. All these are all in my humble opinion Take care and God bless. |
favouredestiny:Ask Mamas here for the Ewedu therapy for high prolactin if you want to go the natural way. Dostinex is what my Dr prescribed for my high prolactin, one tablet once a week. I also know that Parlodel does the same work as dostinex too.. Other things that work on hormonal imbalance is Omega 3 & 6 and perhaps 9, Mumihaja posted a Combo Omega pill with other important nutrients too. Such a combo will be good for hormonal imbalance. If you're currently taking a Multivitamin, ensure it has the Omegas. If you're seeing a Gynae please discuss and follow his recommendations. If not should you decide to go with Dostinex on your own, please endeavor to recheck your levels after taking one bottle of 8 tablets (will last for 8weeks). I heard that Dostinex is very effective, make the levels no come low even disappear . Am just saying sha, don't know if that's possible. But its good to know when its ok so that you can stop the medication. You'll also need to stop any medication for High Prolactin immediately you get your bfp, I pray that's soon.Sabi Mamas please add to hormonal imbalance and high prolactin remedy and info if I missed anything for this new Mama that just joined us. It is well dear. |
99billiondollar:No mind me oh! Counselling na gift for me, plus am temporarily jobless due to my recovery so best opportunity now to give back to the thread. Make una forgive all my long advice posts if its offensive in any way abeg, na beg I beg oh. I no wan receive cane ![]() |
oluwadamelola:From the conclusion of the scan, your tubes have no issues. Myoma means Fibroids. Myoma seedlings are very tiny. Don't be scared, they're just seedlings and won't affect you I believe. Women conceive with these. Just continue with a healthy balanced diet, always get enough night rest, de-stress, eat less red meat. These are some of the things that help with Fibroids. These I believe will ensure the seedlings sighted will remain seedlings and not grow. Besides not all Fibroids affect fertility, size and location is what matters. Abeg, enough interpretation of human beings report. Let's focus on God's report, I've congratulated you even before the official result came out, the Lab owner congratulated and have even asked for your patronage for your PT and antenatal scans, other Mamas have also congratulated you so that's what am going with. Voice Populi, Voice Dei meaning that the Voice of the People is the Voice of God. We'll celebrate your bfp soon. Don't forget to hug your DH tight during your Fertile period oh. Happy BDing. Happy weekend. |
www.africanweightloss.com is a Nigerian website with forums and weight loss information using our normal African and Nigerian Meals like Moi Moi, Semo/Wheat and Vegetable soup etc. They also have some meal timetables that one can adopt for weight loss. The meal time table has various regular 9ja foods but with portion control. Some people there follow it While others just do various things, share what they're doing in the forum and just get support from other people on the same weight loss journey as they are. They also have a before an after thread where users post their before and after pics and give details of what they did to get there. They're all about natural weight loss with healthy eating and portion control. You guys can check out the website. Please am not advertising them, I have no affiliations whatsoever and will not gain anything from anyone visiting their site. It's just one of those things I learnt in my quest to lose weight and keep it off. Like I mentioned in another post, I've battled with weight almost all my adult life at several points. So I've done several researches, tried out several diets and even several slimming products. So am only just sharing what I know. |
fellis:Bloating and farting after eating eggs is because you ate the eggs with Carbohydrates/other things. The Egg diets even reduces bloating where it exits and reduces weight. You can just give it a trial for 3 days and see or better still apply to the Facebook group, its a closed group, an admin will review and accept, then read up on people's stories from all over the world. The one side effect of Egg Fast is the withdrawal symptoms from carbs which makes you feel like you have flu/malaria. it's called the Keto flu, taking Paracetamol stops it immediately, the 2nd which I myself also experienced is irregular bowel movement like I didn't poop for I think 2 days, so I just bought liquid paraffin from chemist and that solved the issue. Some people experience diarrhea (running tummy), I don't know the remedy to this but for me it might be good to just let it be since your body is detoxing as its losing the weight so no point stopping it. It's not something you do permanently, you have to put a healthy eating plan and portion control on a normal balanced diet to continue after using the Egg Fast Diet to crash down your weight. This means eating healthy meals in small quantities, eliminating refined carbs and sugars, eating more Veggies and protein etc. if you like swallow, grind and use quaker oats as your swallow. It works. |
debbie:You're very on point ! No addition and no subtraction. |
favouredestiny:May your stay be fruitful in the shortest time ever, Amen. Feel free to ask questions and sabi Mamas will answer to the best of their knowledge, in case if no one answers then maybe none of the Mamas who have come online has an answer. Also feel free to contribute your own knowledge too. Here Mamas are very kind and supportive, we're like an e-family, e-sisters. Welcome! |
Fumbaby:I don't really know for sure but I do know that according to my Dr Omega 3 & 6 helps and so also does Evening Primrose Oil but you have to stop immediately you O. That's as far natural as I know. Am sure other sabi Mamas will come along soon to give you a better answer. You can also check the "Alternative Methods to TTC" thread. I know various ttc issues and natural remedies (herbs, leaves, fruits and things like that) were provided for various issues and being discussed on that thread. |
mumihaja:If you discuss with your DH and that's his only issue, just pet and convince him the only way you know how to. Tell him that of course you guys will return the glory to God. You can always go for Thanksgiving in the church if you're Christians. I don't know if Muslims and other religions have that. But if your religion does, then you guys will just do it and appreciate God returning all glory to him. God has given Drs knowledge to help humans, it doesn't mean that the Drs takes the glory, its only someone who doesn't think we'll that will just glorify the Drs and not God. We always thank the Drs for their help but also thanking God for using them as his instruments. What if you guys get treated by Drs in Nigeria and get preggy nko? wouldn't it be the same, am sure you get my drift now. It's well. God will help you, in fact he has already helped you just begin to praise him. I no blame the woman oh, if na you nko. Me sef go wan make the baby tanda gidigba, I'll even fear that flying early can cause me to miscarry. You know when you ttc for long and get belle, you will just do some silly things like a lady on the preggy thread that started tiptoeing and stopped normal waka and walking fast for fear of miscarriage. lol. Thanks for the Omega 3,6,9 pic. I was happy when I see it and noticed its a combo in one capsule. I was thinking it will be different Capsules and one will have to swallow the 3. I'll look for a brand that has the Omegas combined even if there are Brands that separate them. |
oluwadamelola:Congrats Dear. I also have a positive feeling that since the thing was cut off for the dye to flow through, it also then means that now your DH swimmers will also find it very easy to swim through just like the dye. I pray for your bfp this cycle, Amen. Congrats in advance for your bfp. Thank God you experienced no pain and it was just discomfort. Mine was same too although I took pain relief before going in for it. |
@ Kittana, I believe your Dr is right on Pcosers also having high prolactin and some without even knowing it. I also found out I have high prolactin. Fluid came out when a Nurse did the physical check for me but I've never seen the fluid on the normal handling of my boobs. A test I even did sometime in Lagos showed prolactin to be in a normal range but the higher end of the normal range and scan I did then also showed pcos. Well I've been placed on Dostinex for the high prolactin. Mamas here also have an ewedu therapy for it but I'll just go with the Dostinex. I doubt I can stomach the Ewedu, the thought alone makes me want to bawl don't know why though. |
mumihaja:Thanks Sis. Congrats on overcoming pcos. I've always had a regular cycle and Ovulation just that the Ovulation does not produce a strong Egg and it seems I ovulate late in my cycle because at a scan I did on CD 12, my Dr said that none of the eggs are measuring up as if am on CD 12 especially for someone with a regular 28day cycle like me. I'll never have thought I have pcos if not for the several scans in different labs showing it. I'll try to find out about Omega 9 and what it does. lol at your pants description. I need the rainy pants if its caused by Egg white/Fertile CM, I lack in that department but the normal BD mode fluid is not a problem for me. |
