NonsoWow:What a pile of bullocky tripe..smh Epitome of self-hate and chest beating..who the heck are you to apportion a certain people "lower beings"..gosh I'm so freaking riled... And when a fellow black South African thinks you a scourge and a nobody, not to talk of the whites you'd scream racism or blue murder... You guys really need to grow up and realize the times we live in at present. There's more to life than I get money pass that one or I go school pass this one. |
From all permutations possible, it seems we'll be coming back home after this group phase. Lets assume Argentina shares the spoil with Croatia, while Nigeria gets one over the Icelanders. That'll leave Croatia with 4 pts Nigeria 3pts Argentina 2pts Iceland 1pt All before going into the final group games of Nig vs Arg and Cro vs Iceland. Lets hope Argentina defeats Croatia and Nigeria defeats Iceland. The table will look thus: Argentina 4pts Croatia 3pts Nigeria 3pts Iceland 1 pt The number of goals we score against Iceland to win, will be the determinant factor in our table ranking. If we should fail to get a +3 goal difference in a win against the Icelanders, Croatia will still top us on the group with a better goal difference or head to head going into the final group game. This is just based on the best case scenario and hoping the boys step up to the plate and pull a huge stunt. But judging from their outing against the Croats, I doubt they'd deliver. Never say never in football though, so lets keep hope alive. If the Icelanders hold us to a draw, its game over, except Argentina loses to Croatia, and also gets walloped by us while hoping the Croats will hold the Icelanders to a draw at the least. My personal permutation and analysis oo..wishing the boys well.. Check out my amazing travel story on my signature |

Daniwes:Dear friend and brother, most times a life without major set backs is an incomplete one. You were never promised the absence of setbacks, trials and tribulations, the promise as I understand it was that they'd surely come, but consuming you they will not, only on one condition-that is if you'd refuse vehemently to allow yourself get sucked in and consumed by your down time. My dear brother, have you ever been to a metal smeltering factory, or witnessed a raw gold in its virgin form and the process of fiery furnacing it goes through before coming out as what we all admire today and want to give an arm and a leg to own one? I don't know how old you are or how much of the life you have experienced, not like age is a determinant factor, but I'm led to tell you today that the way you suppose you know to live life or try to absorb or cushion yourself from what you really lack any control over is wholesomely skewed. In life our experiences, set backs, trials and tribulations might come in different forms or degrees, but their impacts often times remain same. You might want to believe in your own little smartness and as such think you could guard yourself against the unforeseen..emphasis on the word unforeseen. Now tell me how do you guard or protect yourself against the unknown or that which you lack any control over. This my friend is what life is. If it'destined for you to meet these setbacks to enable you reach your destined eldorado, trust me you can't get one over life by cutting corners. The only secret I can share with you is not to stay seated or bent over on the floor whenever it happens. Simply pick up yourself, learn the lesson life threw at you with the set back and get going not minding the mockers or nay sayers because they sure will abound while on this journey. Now brother I'm going to tell you a tad about me and my story I'm not always proud to share, I only do to encourage and teach folks like you. At 24, I happened on some easy money, though by crooked means. Having grown up around heavy duty machineries and fancied them I always saw myself owning machineries or trucks. When the money reached me, I took myself to a major truck dealer on the German/Holland border with the money carefully tucked away in between my third leg. Upon arriving the dealership, almost everyone ignored and looked down on me. Of course I was some young black African most likely a refugee they had thought. Realizing no one would attend to me, I requested to see the owner and I was shown his office. I told him I want to buy trucks he thought I was crazy, I told him I was serious and reached in between my third leg and brought out the envelope containing the wad of 500 Euro bills. He immediately got up and asked me along to the yard where the trucks were lined up. I pointed the first, second up until the fifth and told him I loved those. He named his prices after a little haggle we reached an agreement and I paid him. He gave me the shippers numbers, I called negotiated and settled on the shipping cost, gave him the money for shipping and asked they deliver to the shippers. Before long I'd gotten two more to the fleet, they got engaged with the Delta state DLA under Ibori's regime. My trucks were amongst the trucks that built up most parts of Asaba to what it is today. I don tire will continue..keep strong no fear life or anybody..nothing dey happen. If person threaten you say e go kill you, tell am say no wahala at least you go senior am for anywhere wey dead people dey go so you dey wait for am... Thats how I roll bro..no time to check time..Jah bless Check out my signature for my story..you'd be encouraged...this is become my calling and my religion..motivating and loving people. |

Wonderful, apt and spot on. Couldn't have forgotten all that transpired as accurately reeled out by the writer. Proud to have been a witness to this part of Nigeria's history. I still believe the hilltop mansion one was responsible for Abiola's death, through his brother, whom he made sure took over the reigns upon Abacha's death. One could only imagine what would have been if after Abacha's death, Abiola had been given his mandate. The movie wey for happen between him and the hilltop one for be bestseller. He just had to be taken out of the picture. N.B After my initial post, I took out time to do a flash back to the days of yore and soon came to the conclusion that history often times repeats itself as can be juxtaposed with what we are presently been faced with, and the actors involved. I can't shout it enough, how much i believe and respect karma (good or bad). From our history, up until the June 12 saga, it is evident that life has always reserved everyone a hand deservedly and according to that which we had sown. It is one thing to incur the wrath or karma (curse) of an individual, but a whole different kettle it becomes when the curse is coming from a majority of 180 million people. I still remember vividly the games and shenanigans from both the Abacha regime and the so called pro democracy hawks/opportunists. How can i forget the Walter Ofonagoros, the Ebenezer Babatopes, the Tom Ikimis et al, whom Abacha made his spokesmen and these men did the hatchet job of selling Abacha to whoever cared to listen then without any care in the world. From the events that led up to the June 12 saga and beyond, you'd realize that of all the major/minor actors, Abacha and Abiola were the only two who even got off lightly by way of death. I say this in comparison to what the likes of the hilltop man, Arthur Nzeribe, Anenih, Ikimi and their likes still alive are passing through on a daily. These guys would wish they had gone to rest by way of death, but life and karma has got a different script. The frog-eyed one should keep at his scheming and storing up of everybody's yam for his selfish self alone. He should remember how he still isn't as rich as Abiola in his hey days, but where are we today? They should all keep fighting and pillaging for their selfish interests at the expense of the general populace. Make una continue dey chop everybody food, una go continue dey purge. |

VERY HISTORIC PIECE Copied from "FRIENDS IKOYI CLUB 1938" Forum posted by Adenike Marinho, a Medical Doctor. Tunde Oduwole, I-QS. 14.06.'18. HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE OF HATRED I had the privilege of attending some meetings of the Yoruba and Igbo Leaders. I was not a leader but a youth who knew how to wash his hands. At one of those meetings in Owerri, I think in 1989, I think, I listened to Uncle Bola Ige and other Yoruba Leaders take the likes of Mbakwe, R. B. Okafor and others to the cleaners when the Igbo said the Yoruba were betrayers, citing that Chief Obafemi Awolowo led them into secession with a promise that if the Igbo left Nigeria, the Yoruba would follow suit. They accused him of not following up on his promise. Trust Uncle Bola Ige! He pointed to Chief Mbakwe and said, "you were there in the meeting between Awolowo and Ojukwu as I was. Is that statement correct?".He turned to two other Igbo and two Yoruba Leaders who were at that meeting and asked the same question, saying he had transcripts of the meeting between Awolowo and Ojukwu. They kept quiet while the Yoruba Leaders affirmed that Awolowo never promised to follow the East into secession. What he said was that if the Igbo were "driven" out of Nigeria the Yoruba would take it seriously and reassess their own position. Igbo Leaders DID NOT CONTEST this version. Then Chief Bola Ige threw in the clincher! "Who are you to accuse the Yoruba of betrayal?" he roared, and continued: 1. At Independence Awolowo offered a joint government between the NCNC and AG, with Zik as Prime Minister and Awo as Finance Minister. Awo and Zik "were still negotiating" when it was announced that Zik would be President in a coalition with NPC of the North. The East then collaborated in destroying the West and sending Awolowo and his leutenants to jail! 2. What of the 1965 elections which the West and the East agreed to boycott? We met all night and reached agreement about 3am on the day of the election. In the morning, while the Yoruba boycotted the election, the Igbo went to vote 3. After the 1979 elections Yoruba (UPN) and Igbo (APP?) Leaders were still at the negotiating table for a coalition when to their surprise, an announcement was heard that the Igbo (APP) had agreed to a coalition with the North (NPN) 4. After the 1983 elections, 1979 repeated itself. Not giving up, Awolowo reached out to Azikiwe again for cooperation. Talks started and they met in Benin where Awo pleaded passionately that only a collaboration between The Igbo and the Yoruba could save Nigeria. They didn't reach agreement but promised to meet again. Before the next meeting, the Igbo had again teamed up with the North Uncle Bola paused and then continued "we can go on and on. So how dare you accuse the Yoruba of betrayal? How many Igbo have been killed in Lagos, Ibadan, Akure, Oshogbo (he mentioned other Yoruba towns)? You have your businesses in the West and went to Western schools. Yet you count the Yoruba as your enemy. You get killed in Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, Zaria etc and have your goods looted yet you consider the Hausa/ Fulani your friends. It's your choice. If you want to be slaves for ever, we can't help you" I had never been so scared in my life. I thought the roof was going to fall. There was a pin drop silence and no Igbo dared interrupt Uncle Bola Ige because he was telling the truth. The Yoruba Leaders ended the meeting at that point and left. I hope Chief C. O. Adebayo's memoirs will give more details of those exchanges. Now to make three points from all this: A. The Yoruba have been stretching their hand across the Niger for a handshake for a long time. The Igbo refused to take it for a long time until recently B. Many Igbo Leaders of the 70s, 80s and 90s deliberately perpetrated the legend of Awolowo's role betraying them into the civil war and his role in prosecuting the war, to rally the Igbo population behind themselves. The Igbo agreed on Yoruba hatred than on any other issue. So it was the fabric that held them together for a long time C. Time heals all things. Many Igbo reading this will be hearing for the first time that their leaders of old knew for a truth that Awolowo did not break his word to Ojukwu as alleged. And to think of it, EVEN IF OUR PARENTS QUARRELLED, SHOULD WE THE NEW GENERATION CONTINUE THE SAME WAY?. ITS TIME TO COME TOGETHER AND MAKE THE HANDSHAKE ACROSS THE NIGER WORK FOR THE SAKE OF OUR PEOPLES AND NIGERIA |

Backwards and sidewards passings was their bane. At a point in the game a Nigerian player even had a throw in in the croatian half but threw the ball all the way to a Nigerian defender in the Nigerian half. The Nigerian goalie is lacking in experience and confidence too. His goal kicks are not far reaching or precise enough. Most of the players were played out of position especially in the first half.Mikel should be coming on as a sub. Etebo had a pretty okay game bar the own goal.He was strong on the ball. |

Etihadstore:Dear brother, your comment even though made in a passing is 'laden' with wisdom which I'm pretty sure you might not have thought about. What you feel is natural and part of what we all feel from time to time as humans, but the difference is knowing the pros and cons of such, and applying the one we are comfortable with and can benefit positively from. I commend you for been honest to come out with this thought of yours. Now I'm going to let you in on the lesson to take from your thoughts and what you posted about.. "It means not to expend your energy hating, dissing or beefing someone whose life and destiny you can't, and have no control over...always eschew love, respect and admiration when necessary no matter what, because whatever vibes we give off is exactly what we'd attract to ourselves.
