Politics › Re: Mamman Kontagora Is Dead by Gamesmart:
pulel: Major-General (retired) Mamman Kontagora was Military Administrator of the Abuja Federal Capital Territory during the transitional regime of General Abdulsalam Abubakar, handing over control to a civilian governor in May 1999.

Kontagora was among the first intake of officers when the Nigerian Defense Academy opened in 1964.

Kontagora was appointed Minister of Works and Housing in the Babangida government. In 1991 he issued regulations on pollution abatement and effluent limitations covering all industries, with heavy fines for non-compliance. However, follow-up by the government on infractors was limited. In December 1991, he announced plans to draw up guidelines by early 1992 to control oil pollution. The Sani Abacha government appointed Kontagora sole administrator of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1995 after a major conflict at the university. He remained in charge until some time after the death of Abacha.

Kontagora was appointed Administrator of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on 22 August 1998.The brief period when Kontagora was in charge of the FCT saw a boom in construction of housing and infrastructure. Kontagora ceded a strategic plot next to the International Conference centre to the Abuja Horticultural Society to develop as a world standard park, now the Abuja International Peace Park, finally opened in 2003.] In January 1999 Kontagora said that all structures had been put in place to ensure a smooth transition to democracy in May 1999.

Kontagora was a candidate to represent the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2003 elections for FCT Senator, but was defeated in the primaries by Isa Maina, who went on to be elected. In October 2004 Kontagora announced that he would be a candidate to contest the 2007 presidential elections on the PDP platform. He was cleared as a candidate by the PDP, but was defeated by Umaru Yar'Adua, who went on to be elected

Broken TV: What i want nigerian to understand is that Sahara reporters are Acn, acn= Sahara reporters. I have not seen where those bulldogs Sahara reporters praised Jonathan for one day for during something good always looking for way to ridicule him Sahara reporters are payed agent of Acn. One day they will also tell us that Gej did not brush his teeth before coming on national tv and they will also be backed by those toothless blind members that have lost their sense.
Saharareporters do not need to look for a way to ridicule Jonathan. Jonathan is splendidly stupid and intellectually bankrupt enough to flash in their eyes and provide them with a monthly consumption of something to ridicule him with. If ACN is paying Saharareporters to "look" for something to ridicule Retardeen with, then ACN is flushing its money down the toilet. You don't pay for Manna, it is free. You don't pay for "Fresh Odour" in a pit latrine, it is a complementary provision. Retardeen is the dumbest president we have ever had.

Family › Re: Why Do Men Think Women's Lives Cannot Go On Without Marriage? by Gamesmart: 6:30pm On Apr 23, 2013
Women try and portray this fallacy that they are as happy being single as being in a relationship. It is a way of trying to fo(o)l the opposition (men) so it appears that they have the power as "you want them". It works most times for men with not much up between their skulls.

The reality is that women are terrified of being single. They are absolutely scared to the brink of mental breakdown of being single and all the "I am independent" is a mere front. Majority of single women are desperately and consistently looking for a man, and they want him permanently, not for a short period. They love marriage!
Family › Re: Why Do Men Think Women's Lives Cannot Go On Without Marriage? by Gamesmart:
]SERIOUSLY? WHY? angry

Why on earth do you people think that women will keel over and die if they don't get married?
Why do you think women are just dying to get married or get you hooked?

Day after day on Nairaland I see posts by men that talk about how some female celebrity is approaching her 30's and is not married or how some other ladies will never get married because of one reason or another as if these women told you that their lives cannot continue without marriage.

Why on earth do you people think Nigerian women are desperate to get married to you?
See eh, the reason why majority of women seek marriage is because of societal pressure from people that cannot mind their business and because they want to have kids that will not be called bastards so you better understand that fact.

Marriage hardly benefits women (except the very few lucky ones that married considerate men) so why do you think they are dying for it?
Husbands come home from work and expect a hot/good meal which the wife is supposed to have prepared; it is hardly ever the other way round and it is very rare for a woman to come home and meet that her husband has prepared something for her to eat yet this is something men enjoy all the time.
Men just stay by the side and watch while their wives whine in pregnancy pains and face the pains of being pregnant for months; imagine the struggles of getting the kids ready for school while fighting early morning sickness.

She works to assist you and must still submit to your whims because society expects her to, and you still expect sexxual gratification when you come home not considering that she is probably exhausted.
Also, after marriage the husband clearly enjoys his life and freedom more than the woman. he can close from work and 'hang out with the boys' instead of going home and nobody queries him, but his wife can never try such, she goes home straight to take care of children, does the cooking and cleaning and what not. She even has to take a break from work sometimes to pick the kids from school and drop them at home then go back to work before finally returning home at the end of the day to carry house work solely on her head because the majority of Nigerian men are lazy asses that think that helping their wives at home is an abomination.

After all the stress of doing housework on her own and taking care of children on her own she starts to look old and tired and her husband complains that she is now too old and unattractive and without thinking twice, he begins to look outside at younger women because his wife is no longer attractive to him.
The worst part is that the children the women is taking care of, the children that she got so stressed for and losses her beauty after birthing are bearing the man's name. The children bear his name and not hers and yet the men will have the effrontery to say that their wife is no longer attractive after bearing these kids so they want to chase other women.

What do women even gain from marriages for heavens sake?
People expects them give up your identity and start bearing their husbands' name, the kids you spend your life taking care of bear his name and claim his home town when they are asked where they come from, the man is very very likely to cheat on his wife and maybe infect her with some STD or another and he will more likely than not, turn her into his slave by refusing to assist with house work while expecting her to contribute financially to the upkeep of the house.
In fact, if not that religions make childbearing outside marriage a sin and society(mostly men) treat unmarried girls like outcasts, I'm sure many women will not get married, who in their right senses will want to marry an overbearing, unhelpful, slave driving no-good lazy ass; which majority of men are, when they can just have their kids in peace and not have to worry about taking care of him?

All of you can relax, eh kwa?
Women are not in any hurry to become your slaves.
Enough of the marriage this and marriage talk you keep disturbing our ears with.

Lastly, I know that not all married men think that women are on earth to be their slaves, I know that some kind and thoughtful men still exist there so this message does not apply to them.
Kudos to the 2% of Nigerian men that still have respect for women and consider their feelings after marriage.
I salute you.
If marriage is that bad and valueless to women then why do women in all parts of the world including the West

- want it
- are desperate to go into it
- pressure men for it
- make it a destination goal after crossing an age
- enter it
- stay in it
- fight for it to continue going
- are miserable and bitter if it ends
- and are keen on getting in another one after it ends

Come off it, sugar. Women are addicted to, are hungry for, work hard to and are desperate to marry, even the ones in western countries where marriage is increasingly out of fashion and there is no pressure. Except you are saying women are purely dumb, they sure do gain alot from marriage for them to make it centre of and priority of their lives.

Well, the place or position you choose when proposing to your numero uno, is subjective to individuality. What i deem romantic and necessary may not be the same to you. It also depends on how romantic you are as an individual.
Personally, proposing to her is a very special thing, and I'll want to make it as romantic and memorable as possible for her. She's not just any lady to me, this is someone i want to spend the rest of my life with, so nothing i do for her is too much. If going down on my knees proposing to her would bring a smile to her face, then so be it. The smile on her face will bring a smile to my own face, and to me, nothing else matters. Let my fccking knees be scraped for the sake of my love for her, i don't care. kiss

Females, would you refuse to date a guy if you know he has cheated on an ex before?

Lets put it into 2 scenarios:

- Lets say it was over 5 years ago when he cheated only once.

- Then what if he was a serial cheat in the past but has been "clean" grin in his last 2 relationships of the past 5 years.

Ladies please address the 2 scenarios. I know the former is better than the latter but I want to know possibilities for both.

Career › Re: Salary Structure Of Etisalat, Zain, MTN, Glo? by Gamesmart: 12:38pm On May 15, 2011
AjanleKoko:
@GoldCircle, pele!
Okay, all monies are in naira.

Entry Level: Generally these are call center agents. But can apply anywhere in the company.
MTN: ~2.5-3m
Zain: ~1.5-2m
Glo: ~2.5m
etisalat: 900k

Specialist:
MTN: 3.5-4.5m
Zain: 3m-4m
Glo: Not specified, can be anything.
etisalat: 3-5m

Manager:
MTN: 10m, car and other benefits can take it all the way to 12-14m.
Zain: This is tricky. Zain just killed their organogram, so there's no manager on the same hierarchial level as other telcos. But this is around 9-13.5m inclusive of everything
Glo: Not specified, can be anything. In fact there is no hierarchial structure in Glo. But managers can get anything between 6m and 25m.
etisalat: 8-14m. no car, and exclusive of medical.

Senior Manager:
MTN: 15-25m inclusive of car and medical.
Zain: 14m-20m, inclusive of car, exclusive of medical. I believe this is the level now referred to as 'manager' in zain.
Glo: Nothing like Senior Manager in Glo. Just like Manager.
etisalat: 14-21m. No car, and exclusive of medical.

Director/GM/CxO:
This one is across board. Can be anything from 25m to 50m depending on experience, negotiation skills, etc.

These are all starting salaries. There are some exceptions, e.g zain specialists earn anything between 3m and 8m, but generally speaking, if you can command an 8m salary, zain will probably offer you a manager cadre job.
Hope this will help somewhat.
P.S. I have worked in 2 of these companies since 2001, and have at various times been offered positions in the other two, so I know exactly what each and every one of them pay.
Please, are these figures after tax figures?

How have they changed in the last 2 years? Up or Down?

@poster.

I will want to assume your joking. I think thats not the solution to their problem. Its an attitude problem from the government 1st and foremost and the police personnel on the second hand.

Government pays a man a paltry sum of N25k to face armed rubbers without any insurance for their families, the have to buy the uniforms they use for work, buy fuel in their patrol vans. I am not making a case for the police here, as much as i dont like them a bit, the real issue is that before we can castigate the police and pull their balls out, let government make the occupation attractive for qualified people to come and join. Have you ever thought about how police men and the lower cadre are recruited? You will be shocked.

I rest my case.
I hope you realise grads do not earn N25K in NPL. They start at ASP and earn N80K.

What is worrying is the process of getting rid of people based on qualification type, instead of competency demonstrated on the job so far.

And later, they would wonder why Nigerians are bitter towards their own country.

This is what you want legalized sebi. Nigerian women have not suffered enough, you want them to also suffer in America sebi.

Excerpt:

consenting adult argument my arse. Now we would expect another woman who hears this story to argue with her husband about a polygamous union while expectant of acid being poured on her.

Feminist theorist have strong arguments. Its just that there arguments fly past those with low intelligence and dismiss them as emotional because they are women.
This is really as silly as someone bringing a case of a man trying to kill his wife to run off with his lover, and then claim it is evidence monogamy is harmful to women. Therefore monogamy should be banned.

Is there really no case of domestic abuse, like the story quoted, in monogamy? This argument is really embarassing coming from our leaders of tomorrow.

I think it really says a lot about your intelligence when you can not explain your arguments.

There is no difference in the 2.

Polygamy is not the reason women are supressed in the muslim world.

Consenting adults having a right to privacy in their homes is not a fundamental human right.

You talk, then think (or rather run from defending your arguments by insulting or deviating from the point). It is a weakness and you surely are not intelligent as you think you are. Good night, enjoy your game.
