Thank God that we have a president who listens to our complains, a President who fears the reaction of the masses and who abhors corruption to the extend that he can remove those who are close to him if they are corrupt. This is in sharp contrast with the immediate past regime of stealing is not corruption.

My friend it is all about corruption in the judiciary. The judges are so corrupt that they shamelessly used flimsy excuses to dismiss corruption cases. The case of the former Adamawa state Governor, Bala Ngilari, who is known to be tight fisted is a good example. The tight fisted ex governor did not do the needful and the judge sentenced him to prison without an option of fine but having seen the reality the ex governor parted with some of his loot and before you know he was released by the judge who sentenced him.

gurunlocker:
There's actually nothing wrong with the appointment, the only thing they could have work on is having more accredited centres or making people register on their own.

They major issue with this new policy is to make fund available directly to the TSA. If they can make more CBT centres or allow cafes to register, but still make bank to vend pin, it would be easier.
Why should there be accredited centers? Why not allow anyone who wants to register and have necessary equipments for registration just register? WAEC's online registration does not require accredited centers; if you have access to Internet and the necessary equipment like, especially finger print scanners you can register.

PoliticsAlleged Graft: Kano Seals Off Ex-commissioner’s Hospital by ganye1(op): 6:20am On Mar 24, 2017
Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission on Wednesday sealed off New Age Hospital owned by a former Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labara. Labara served under a former governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso,
The property, according to the commission, was suspected to have been procured with proceeds of corruption by the political ally of the former governor.
It was also gathered that Kwankwaso was being probed by the agency for allegedly diverting over $500m foreign scholarship fund while in office.
Briefing newsmen shortly after shutting down the clinic, the Chairman of the Commission, Muhuyi Rimi-Gado, said evidence at his disposal indicated that the hospital was procured fraudulently about the same period the ex-commissioner was entrusted with the management of the state foreign scholarship funds for Kano indigenes studying in Egypt University.
He said preliminary investigation proved that Labara deducted $200m out of the total allocation during one of his foreign trips to Egypt, while additional $335m was paid into his account by some agents handling the scholarship scheme.
The PCAC boss hinted that a legal action would soon be instituted against Labara, noting that the confiscation of his property would also be initiated.
This, he added, was within the purview of the commission’s constitutional mandate.
Rimi-Gado said, “We have all the documented facts and evidence to prove our case against the ex-commissioner even at the law court.
“We have evidence to show that the property was purchased the same time he was being accused of embezzlement of foreign scholarship funds. Meanwhile, the government has taken over the property and we have the power to do so.”
The chairman said his agency would not be distracted, noting that he was determined to deal with all those involved in the embezzlement of public funds in the state.
“Let me assure the public that this commission will neither be distracted by any sentiment nor perceived allegation because we are here to do the job we have been mandated to do. All those involved in the scholarship scam would be arrested and prosecuted,” he said.
Labara declined to react to the takeover of his hospital, saying he was consulting with his lawyers.

They can do this and a lot more but it is not as easy as you are trying to make it sound. They can refuse to budget money for the NCS but apart from being reckless and irresponsible because of the importance of the NSC the president can refuse to sign the budget into law. My problem with them why is the issue of wearing or non wearing of uniform so important that they have to relegate other important national issues to the background?

And why would he refuse to Resign? If the rule of law says he is past retirement age. Is he planning to die in the job? I think he should retire and give young people a chance. You don't think?

This is the problem in Nigeria, when any body gets into a government position they behave as if the own that position and would not give way for other citizens when they are due for retirement. they want to die in the job.
Hameed Ali is on a political appointment and the Senate duly vetted his nomination. The question is if Col Hameed Ali's nomination was wrong why did they vet his nomination. They should leave this ego trip and engage themselves with serious national issues.

Meanwhile someone has this to say on the issue:
IN DEFENSE OF SENATOR Dino Melaye
By Soni Akoji
I just read a story by PM News where it was alleged that the Senator representing the good people of Kogi West in the 8th Senate did not graduate from the Ahmadu Bello University,
Zaria.
This is nothing but jankara reportage and I make bold to set the record straight.
Dino Melaye spilled, pour and splashed over during his days as an undergraduate at ABU. To God be the glory, Uncle K aka General Mamman Kotangora came calling as Sole-Administrator in 1996. Immediately he set up a taskforce to reduce the students population to an acceptable limit. One demographic of students on campus that was captured were those who have overstayed there welcome. Dino Melaye fell under this category as he overshot his graduation by THREE academic sessions (3 years) and still counting, as a result of intractable and unresolved carryovers on the part of the student in question.
Dino and other students in this category were granted amnesty to write all their carryover courses along with the prerequisites during a special semester called "Third Semester or Amnesty Semester."
If my memory serves me right, Dino Melaye eventually earned the minimum Total Credit Unit Required (TCUR) and graduated with a PASS in Geography after 8 years in the University.
Unless Dino flunked his amnesty year, which was a kind of # LetMyPeopleGo , in which case he will have been presented a CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE, there is absolutely no truth in the publication that the Okun Senator did not graduate from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zauzau.
DAZZOL
So let no one say I never did anything for Dino

Chill, man. We all know he didn't intentionally post fake pictures. He was fed fake stories by his ex driver in a bid to extort money from him. He was only being compassionate.
Though, I blame him for not investigating the case thoroughly before running to Social media. But we all know Audu Maikori is a good man. A man of his people. He even campaigned for Buhari back in 2015. So why would he try to put down his Government by any means?

He has already apologized and I don't think he should be punished any further.
What is relevant here is that he posted false information capable of inciting violence, so should be allowed to face the consequences of his action. He had a chat with the police and they are not convinced of his story, so he should just prepare for his defense in the courts instead of blackmailing the government.
CelebritiesRe: Audu Maikori Arrested By The Police by ganye1: 6:33pm On Feb 18, 2017
morpheus24:
Please re- read your accusation above and don't just use big grammar for its sake. To concoct a story would require the one "cooking up" the story to understand the effects of the "ingredients" he is using to concoct the story. In other words if the preconceived intent is to cause malice, disseminate erroneous information and incite to violence then he is guilty. However if the "ingredients" used to concoct the story are sourced from a third party who knowingly supplied incorrect facts to the "cooker" of the concocted story, the most the cooker would be guilty of is negligence to vet or cross check the "ingredients" he was given to cook up the food....Ehem.... I mean story.

This is just an intimidation and fear tactic by government. The case will not stand up in court and if it does the most he will be liable for is passing on false or incorrect information to the public. As far as incitement well, they have to prove "intent" and what kind of incitement is he intending, incite to emotion, incite to violence, incite to demonstrate which will be difficult to prove
We heard his side of the story and that of the government, the rest is left to the courts to decide. The people who manipulate the poor to violence are the ones who make me angry. Maikori is highly enlighten and knows the implications of disseminating false information that has the capability to cause eruption of violence and yet he went ahead and post that false story. He should be allowed to face the consequence of his action instead of this hysteria and cheap blackmail.

PoliticsBuhari May Return From Vacation This Saturday - Leadership by ganye1(op): 6:30am On Feb 09, 2017
Barring any unforeseen setbacks, President Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to return to the country from his vacation to the United Kingdom this Saturday.

A source close to the president told LEADERSHIP yesterday that except there would be any last minute change, all is set for President Buhari’s return.

The source, a senior official in the presidency, who spoke in confidence with our correspondent, simply said: “Barring any last minute change, we are expecting the president back this weekend, probably on Saturday.”

It was also gathered that the president had on Tuesday this week cancelled an interview with a foreign media organisation, but may possibly grant an interview in London before the weekend.

Another source in the presidency also said that President Buhari “had already packed his bags to leave on Sunday but was advised by his doctors to wait and get results of some tests he conducted before leaving that country.”

“I can confidently tell you that Mr. President might still be there (in London) because he has to succumb to the superior knowledge of physicians who conducted medical checks on him, but his mind is in Nigeria,” he added.

On rumours that he is incapacitated, the source who preferred not to be named in print because he is not in a position to officially speak on the matter said, “What else do you expect from people? If it were to be other past presidents who go on vacation or medical checkup without official notification, there wouldn’t have been room for such rumour.

“But this is a president who is determined to remain transparent in whatever he does in office. Don’t forget that this is not the first time His Excellency is embarking on a vacation outside the shores of the country.”

LEADERSHIP recalls that the special adviser on media and publicity to the president, Mr. Femi Adesina, had on Tuesday said the president may return to Nigeria sooner than expected.

President Buhari had on Sunday written to the National Assembly, informing lawmakers of his desire to extend his leave in order to complete and receive the results of a series of tests recommended by his doctors.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed observed yesterday that it was ridiculous for anyone to compare President Buhari’s health condition with that of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.

Mohammed who spoke after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa was joined by the ministers of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola; Agriculture, Audu Ogbeh and Trade & Investment, Okechukwu Enemelah.

His position came two days after Osinbajo had replied those insisting on knowing the health status of the president, that only the president could disclose the status of his health.

Echoing the acting president’s position, the information minister insisted that the president was hale and hearty, just as he assured that Buhari was well and that he was absolutely in no danger.

Asked if the president’s health came up at FEC yesterday, Mohammed said, “I think I can say without any equivocation that he (Buhari) is well, he is hale and hearty; no question about that. You see, on a lighter note, do you think Mr. President will be ill and we will be here and go about our businesses like this? The minister of power was in Anambra two to three days ago. I was in Ilorin on Monday; all our ministers are busy. But I want to assure you that Mr. President is well and he is absolutely in no danger.”

Noting that it was absurd to compare Buhari’s health with that of the late Yar’Adua, the minister said, “I think it was one of the newspapers that said when I was the spokesman of APC I demanded for hourly bulletin of Yar’Adua’s health and that I ought to be giving hourly bulletin as minister of information on the health of the president.

“And I said you are comparing apple and oranges. Mr. President is not ill, he is not in hospital and there will be no need to give anybody hourly bulletin about his health – pure and simple.

“Mr. President like I said elsewhere is a victim of his own transparency. He was going on leave, he did what the constitution said he should do; he transmitted a letter to the National Assembly and an acting president was put in place and he said, ‘while I am on leave I am going to conduct some medical tests’, which all of us do without announcing it.

“And of course, less than six hours after he got there he was pronounced dead by some people. Even those who saw him climb the aircraft in Abuja said he was flown by air ambulance. I can assure you that Mr. President is well, is hale and hearty and no cause for concern. The Acting President speaks to him every day and he told you so.”

Asked if it was ideal for the president to go on leave at this time of recession, Mohammed pointed out that the constitution guarantees that.

“Absolutely yes; our constitution guarantees that. Did Obama not go on leave; do other presidents not go on leave? Mr. President will go on vacation when he has to go on vacation. Do you know how many ministers have gone on vacation this year? To say Mr. President cannot go on vacation is ridiculous,” he stated.
