The President goofed on this.....He was quick to solve the ipob crisis,such affirmative action would have been taken since with the fulani herdsmen trouble,then nobody will think of reprisals or risk arrest/jail.
When a President begins to define herdsmen as Libyans,and support clandestinely their course,people begin to see them selves as 'soft targets' and will defend themselves.

There are no worse oppressors than those who have been oppressed themselves for they will justify all means of self-preservation, including persecution and oppression of others, to the extent of, and worse than that which they had endured. This will weigh heavily on the souls of future generations.(H.E)

Like your last line,the President must be seen to take action.Irrespective of their well-known troubles,the President has never mentioned Fulani herdsmen in any of his addresses,whether to put them in check or sth else,and he diverges any question that has to do with them......he is seen to be a stakeholder in this crisis because of his actions and inactions,and to get this right he must begin to call a spade,a spade and a gardenfork a gardenfork.

There is no justification,whatsoever for anyone to take the life of another..and Nigerians all over sympathise with the course of both the wounded and the bereaved.

The demonisation campaign is ongoing. Any crime perpetuated is attributed to the herdsmen even if there is nothing linking them to it. When they are attacked you never hear about the attack but any violence involving is magnified out of proportion. The silence on the killing of Fulani herdsmen and other forms of attacks is a pointer of a deliberate plan to hide the truth. Wait and see this thread would never make it to the front page.
When the Mambila people organised and carried out a genocide against the Fulani was Buhari not blackmailed not to carry out any action against the perpetuators? What of the recent Bachamas killing of over one hundred Fulani women and children in Numan local government of Adamawa state, did Buhari do anything against them?
The slanted media reports, illegal laws specifically targetting them and Buhari's inaction make the herdsmen feel that they are under a threat of being wiped out off the face of the earth.

It is very unfortunate that Buhari has been effectively blackmailed into not providing the Fulani with any sort of protection against attacks because he is Fulani. They attack and kill the Fulanis and nobody talks and when the Fulanis rise up to defend themselves everybody starts talking about killer fulani herdsmen. Till this day the Bachamas are blocking roads and going round Fulani villages killing them and yet everybody is silent. Currently there is ongoing orchestrared campaign of demonisation of the Fulanis in preparation for a full scale genocide. The government should wake up to its responsibility and provide security to every citizen irrespective of tribe or religion.

It is lie as no commissioner has decamped to PDP but it is expected that Fatima Atiku Abubakar, Atiku's daughter and Adamawa state commissioner for health and Ibrahim Mijinyawa, who Atiku sponsored for governorship candidacy but lost two times are expected to follow him. There may be one or two others too who may follow him but till this time none of the commissioner, including his daughter,.

Atiku is getting desperate day by day and his latest gimmick would only backfire and alienate him from more people in the north.

Now that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has finally slunk back into the PDP once again, the party that he once helped found and twice futilely helped to kill, all absurd arguments to justify this third missionary journey into the party are been spewed by different characters across the nation’s political landscape. Only recently, the so-called Adamawa State PDP's leadership and an amorphous group that calls itself Katsina State People’s Democratic Party Elders’ Consultative Forum are reported to have publicly pleaded with the erstwhile Vice President to come back to the PDP. The Katsina group implored him “to forgive former elements within the PDP, who forced him to seek further political relevance and justice in alternative political enclaves and return for a successful rebirth of the PDP.” The so-called elders hailed him as a “political son of Katsina State, who has made indelible contributions to the foundation and development of the PDP.”
While I do not here intend to dispute whatever contributions Atiku may have made to the PDP, I however reject the notion that he was maltreated in the party. Nobody treated Atiku unfairly; whatever happened to him in the PDP was the result of his own making! With an avid ambition for power, Atiku took many indecent steps to achieve his political self-interest, and many of these steps came back at him with devastating consequences. As a Vice President, he plotted against his principal by conspiring to unseat the president and take over power in 2003. It was an opened national secret that Atiku did not want Obasanjo to contest a 2nd term and took to so many subterranean antics to stop the president from doing so. Nigerians are not in a hurry to forget how Obasanjo on good ground accused him of conspiring with Ghali Umar Na'abba, a onetime Speaker, to serve him with impeachment notice in August, 2002 after failing to get the president adopt "the Mandela option" - i.e. not to contest a 2nd term and handover to his deputy! No sensible president would simply sit back and watch his deputy run him down the way Atiku tried on Obasanjo. Hence, Obasanjo's defensive move of taking away PDP from Atiku's grips and subsequently bludgeoning him against contesting under its platform were the results of Atiku's own political misdemeanours to his principal and not the other way round.
So when he left the party in 2006 and desperately persuaded Bola Tinubu to join him form the AC and contested the presidency under its platform in 2007, Atiku was simply pursuing his own self-ambition. But, perceptively, events were not kind to him in that presidential election as he came a distant 3rd with a mere 2 million votes. Then what happened after he lost that election and lost at the tribunal was shocking. Without telling any of his compatriots in the AC, he sneaked into Abeokuta to beg Obasanjo for reconciliation! Not only Obasanjo did not forgive him, but he further lost the confidence of his AC compatriots who stood by him in his ill-advised fight against Obasanjo. That brought the end of AC, except that Bola Tinubu, being a man of will, foresight and means, restructured it into ACN and forged ahead to build a colossus political empire. And for Atiku, having betrayed his new-found compatriots, he creeped back into the PDP in July, 2010, shortly after the death of President Umaru Yar'Adua, in the hope of pushing out the supposedly weak and inexperienced President Goodluck Jonathan. But again events were not kind to him, for in the December presidential primaries, Atiku managed to scoop a mere 800 against Jonathan's over 2000 votes.
So when in August 2013 Atiku, along with others, derisively walked out on the PDP at its national convention and subsequently joined the newly formed APC, which he described as his last and final political bus-stop, all those who understand his politics knew that he would still jump ship the moment the APC fails to satisfy his self-interest. Just like his returning to to PDP after President Yar'Adua's death was aimed at displacing the 'inexperienced Jonathan', his joining APC was also with the naive plan of using the power of money to defeat 'poor Buhari' and gain APC's presidential nomination. Again, like in the previous two elections, events were not kind to him as he woefully lost the contest to a distant 3rd, after Buhari and Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso - thanks to Bola Tinubu who refused to allow himself be bitten twice by the same insect!
But of course the turn of events in all his three self-serving contests were just as they should be - you just don't rip from where you did not sow! Agreed, politics is said to be a game of interests; but being a matter that directly affects the lives of people in society and determines the future of society itself, politics is indisputably also a game of principles. In playing the game, therefore, one just cannot pursue one's interests at the expense of its principles. It is a standard universal norm that any political actor who pursues self-serving interest against public interests is acting against set principles of politics; and time has ascertained that such a politician is sure to fail. The politician’s skill or lack of it to distinguish the great disparity between self-interest and principles, and the ability or inability to balance these two elements, is what makes one a good or a bad politician, and consequently what decides the ultimate destiny of one’s politics. Characteristically, over the years, Atiku’s unprincipled politics not only failed to conform to these political dynamics but it also defines him merely as a self-serving politician.
This character trait didn't start in the presidential villa – it started much earlier! Nigerians can recall that, by his own testimony, Atiku claimed to have joined politics at the behest of late General Shehu Musa Yar'Adua, who he always refers to as his political mentor. Although this claim did not prevent him from abstinently opposing the late General’s immediate younger brother, Umaru, when the latter emerged president, but for the purpose of the present discourse, let’s take him by his words on this. So together with General Yar’Adua, Atiku formed or joined several political associations and political parties, including PF, PDM, SDP and NCPN. In the process of building the NCPN, popularly called the Centre Party, his political mentor was arrested by the General Sani Abacha government, charged with treasonable felony and sentenced to death. While General Yar'Adua was languishing in jail on a commuted sentence of life in prison, Atiku had no qualms in abandoning the Centre Party to join the government-favoured UNCP and be given its Adamawa State governorship ticket. Shortly after, Yar'Adua died in jail.
And he has now again crawled back into the PDP with, no doubt, a vein political trajectory to get the party's presidential nomination. He must have calculated that with the zoning of the party's presidential candidate to the North, being obscenely wealthy, he will use money to secure its ticket. That may well be so, but it is also clear to all discerning analysts that the man has again not thought through this political gambit. Atiku has once again not only committed another morally repugnant action to advance his self-interest, but by it he also proved himself to be an undependable and unreliable political ally, both to the people he associates with and the political parties he joins. He neither embodies virtues Nigerians can emulate nor holds worthy moral and ethical principles upcoming generations may extol. But like all acts, we all get wiser after the events; he therefore won't know the folly of his present move until the effects come calling. And, as sure as God made little apples, the universal truth of ‘what is morally wrong cannot be politically right’ will, as before, ultimately become the bane of his political failure. But, as the
saying goes, time will be the true judge of all affairs.

Miyetti-Allah Kautal Hore, the umbrella group for Fulani herdsmen in Nigeria, have stated that they would not accept cattle ranching because Nigeria’s geographical location was not suitable for it, Vanguard reports.

The association’s position was made public by its national secretary, Saleh Alhassan, in a chat with newsmen in Abuja on Sunday, November 19.

NAIJ.com gathers that Alhassan stated that the anti-open grazing law which has been established in some states would die a natural death like ‘political sharia law’ in Zamfara; and called on the federal government to stop state governments from enacting the law.

He stated: “The whole experiment of ranching in Nigeria is a total failure. You can google it; it’s there on the Internet for everyone to see.

“Right from the 70s, the old Gongola state had experimented ranching, the same with Kaduna state and even the old Plateau state. All the ranches collapsed because the geographical location of this country is not suitable for ranching.

“In places where there are successful ranching in the world, the volume of rain per annum in those areas is at least four to seven months, that’s why you have grasses that can naturally be sustained.

“At the same time, you must have the necessary breeds that will support even ranching. The current breeds we have in this country cannot be supported by ranching.

“Anywhere you keep these volume of cows we have now for two weeks, they will eat out everything and you will have ecological disaster.”

He continued: “We view the anti-grazing law as an agenda to destroy our means of livelihood by visionless and desperate politicians.

“Anti-grazing laws are nothing but populist agendas designed by visionless and desperate politicians to destroy our means of livelihood.

“This dangerous gambit must be nipped in the bud by the federal government through the security agencies as it portends a great danger to the cooperate existence of the country.

“These laws are oppressive and negative and are fundamentally against our culture as Fulani pastoralists, against our economic interest and against the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

The national president of the association, Abdullahi Bodejo, and Sale Alhassan, its secretary, stated that the law was an attempt to destroy the means of livelihood of the herdsmen.

All these took place under the watch of former President Jonathan? Former President Jonathan was clearly behind whatever Maina and his cohorts stole and he gave Mr Maina all the protection he needed and facilitated his escape. We have clearly done the right thing to sack President Jonathan. President Buhari must show those who brought Maina back the door to salvage whatever is left of his integrity. As for those PDP supporters acting as if the theft happened in this regime chilled down know that we would hold Buhari culpable in reinstatement of Maina if he refuse to punish those who perpetuated the act.

2019 is for Buhari to take if he wants to. Buhari in opposition has consistently gotten twelve million votes despite PDP's control of huge resources and the security agencies which they use to rig elections. Now with Buhari's exceptional handling of the mess left by PDP's 16 years of massive looting of our resources and the terrible security situation they left, his original 12 million votes plus other reasonable Nigerians who saw how well Buhari did despite sabotage from the beneficiaries of the old era would gang up to ensure Buhari is returned with a landslide. Also don't forget that the federal government might which was used against Buhari previously is now in his hands and the resources too won't be too scarce as before.

This statement is the end of the matter and in few days other similar videos would surface, this one would be forgotten and the army would issue another statement promising investigation and the circle would continue till they learn that they have lost most of their rights. We understand that Buhari didn't choose to be I'll and being President doesn't deny him the right to seek for medical treatment for his illness. The President has done all the laws requires him to do in such situation. The irony is that those asking him to leave on moral grounds do not realised the callousness of playing politics with Buhari's illness. As someone has said it is an own goal. With benefit of hindsight Buhari shouldn't have released the message in Hausa language because of some peoples' penchant for misrepresenting anything Buhari said. During Obasanjo's time there were occasions he spoke to the media, particularly BBC and VOA Hausa services and dust was raised.

Well, Atiku has tried in that regard.

He has touched many lives positively, dishing out sums you wouldn't believe. Other times he gives houses to the needy. But you won't hear about it because he isn't about the media life. On top of all that, he's an employer of labour.

The person who hasn't touched any life outside of those of his family members' is Buhari. I'm not sure that stingy man has given out even a spoon before.

Yes, Atiku has touched many lives but mostly in a negative way. Yes, sometimes he does give unbelievable amounts of money to some people but the people he gives money are mostly political touts. Yes, he employs labour but the businesses were mostly built with siphoned money from Adamawa state's money. You did not tell us how he looted and is still looting Assets of Adamawa state. Go to police roundabout and see several courts pulled down after the governor dashed him the place.

I don't know why this simple request has induced such venom laced comments. The Christians in this country enjoy Sunday as a work free day and the number of Sundays in a year is almost two months yet we Muslims do not make noise because we feel that if it is essential for the Christians to perform their religion let them have it. The school calendar is structured based on Christians' events like the Esther and Christmas and yet Muslims do not make much fuss about it. The Nigerian authorities should learn to be sensitive when planning such activities and the Christians should show understanding and tolerance when Muslims asked the authorities to consider the Muslims when planning national activities like the NYSC and army recruitment.
