My dear, tell him that u'll report her to her husband,and/or talk to the lady. Warn her in a very matured way. Let her knw that her husband will get to knw if she continues. When I say tell, I mean threaten o! If he doesn't stop, make the obvious plan B....leave him for good. If he loves you, he'll leave her anyway. You need to break that love asap before they go far into it again. |
LWKMD! Una don craze finish |
who's fooling who? let's see what will happen when there's an accident |
LFJ: What I said is no doubt my personal assumption based on personal experience. I maintain my position that the quality of ACCA syllabus is not in any way better than that of ICAN. I experienced both exams, and I know what it takes to pass both exams. Yes, as a qualified accountant in ACCA you are recognized in ICAN, not because one is better but because most of the founding fathers of ICAN were ACCA and CPA qualified, so when ICAN was formed, that clause was inserted. As I said, ACCA is not in any way better than ICAN in terms of quality of the syllabus, though there is no doubt that ACCA command respect than ICAN because of the UK status in the world. Almost all countries of the world have their accounting body, and it is for their country unless there is understanding between the two countries to give automatic status to each other country members when they cross over e.g. USA, Canada and Columbia. My sincere apologies about No 5. Your points are noted. Cheers! |
@ Ishmael: You are getting too emotional over this. What is most important is that one should develop himself over and over again irrespective of where one schools. Education does not end in a university or polytechnic....Everything boils down to the individual. Cheers! |
ishmael: @gaskydudu: Profs don't take u in all ur courses from 100 levels to 400/500 levels; tell us the truth. Most uni lecturers that lecture undergraduates are Msc and PhD holders. Some are even Bsc holders with Msc in view. Most Professors spend their time attending to and working with Msc and PhD students under their supervision. Again being tutored by a Professor does not transform u into a genius; u need to work harder by doing most of the work urself.Lolllll @ work harder and by urself. That is given my dear friend. Why is there a difference between satellite campuses and main campuses. No be the same teaching? You may as well don't bother going to school and read on your own. I never said Profs take all your courses. I just mean that there is a higher level of quality teachers. And YES FYI, u need quality teaching to transform you into a GENIUS! |
LFJ: As at today u need 5 credit to gain admission to both Uni and poly; before 2010 few people gained admission with 4 credit, Maths and English inclusive, majority were with 5 credits. The only occasion you can see people with less than 5 credits and with either no credit in Eng or Maths is when you have people that gained admission through pre ND, and this happen in Uni too with those that came through remedial. ACCA and CIMA are rated higher not because they are better than ICAN in term of quality, but because of their international outlook, so let us forget about the story of this or that analysis.1. What you have said is your assumption, not the generally accepted and empirically tested one with regards to ACCA. What justification do you have about the quality of the courses? As a qualified accountant in ACCA you are recognised in ICAN but not the other way round. Isn't that enough? I never compared the quality of the course but the method...and what hasn't quality to do with the international outlook..C'mon! 2. 'Before 2010, a few people gained admission with 4 credit...' The fact people gained with less qualifications is still given. Two years ago is too short to even compare the standards. It will take a longer while for the entry standard to be accepted socially. 3. My initial contribution used the general average comparison between poltechnics and universities. Please note that cos there could be wide variances. However, education is NOT only about reading and doing your courseworks, the quality and experience which are shared from lecturers come in, the learning environment and the brand. How many professors do u have in an average good university to a polytechnic? Those things count. Have you ever considered a BSc in OAU or Havard? Or better still, a mushroom uni in the US against Havard? Yeah they practically teach the same thing but different methods cos of the quality and experience of their teachers. 4. I know this issue is quite emotional/controversial, but in my opinion the AVERAGE university graduate has more opportunities than a polytechnic graduate. With regards to exposure, I have worked with enough of them for over a decade to justify my assumption. I have also come across very smart ones, no doubt about that, but my assumption is on the AVERAGE. 5. If you feel so strongly about polytechnics, why don't you let your sibblings or kids (if you have) attend? |
Polytechnics and Universities are NOT the same. First of all, entry requirements are different. Polytechnics have lesser qualifications to enter, that's where the stratification starts. Notwitstanding, there are brilliant Polytechnic graduates, but in general an average Polythenic student has less opportunities and exposure..unfortunately, that's the truth. Accounting has developed far from the excel thingy, it's now more like facts behind the figures and not just figures; thinking outside the box. In the working world of today, we have Chief Financial Officers(CFOs) who make up a combination of financial reporting, analysis and management. ACCA realised that, and in their exams they do not just give you an account to balance (for financial reporting courses) but LOTS of financial analysis cos they realised people were just cramming and not understanding required principles;and there were complaints from employers..and that is why ACCA,CIMA,etc is much highly rated than ACA (ICAN). |
indirect marketing |
Well, this is because the HND graduates have more to prove than the BSc Accounting graduates. Check the stats again, i'm sure there is a higher pass rate in no accounting BSc graduates than Accounting. I did not study Accounting in my BSc and i'm a qualified accountant. There are many more of us from Engineering, Sciences and Social Sciences. |
What's ging on ? Two bombblasts in Abj, no death and this one with 4 injured persons, no death. Is Boko becoming less strategic or they r trying to pass a message? Whatever sha, we have to be vigilant. Na every man for himself now o |
Erm..El Rufai's conspiracy theory hmmmmm #justsaying |
hustla242:I'm not a fan of Sanusi, however please don't confuse Sanusi's monetary policy responsibility with the Government's fiscal policies. There is little he can do if there are challenges on the convergence of both policies. |
LWKMD!!!!!! What about taekwondo? |
^^ you need to understand that when components/equipments are designed and assembled, they have what you call "useful life". Some 5years, 10years others 15years, 20years or 25years so to speak. To get the equipment to last that long, you need to service regularly. Pre-paid meters are not fully digital components. They are a combo anodigital component which will require continuous maintenance to keep them functioning at 90C99R. As it is done in other parts of the world, the consumer pays for this maintenance in the form of service charge. This is outside of your billing. There is nothing wrong in paying this fee, if only they actually do render the service. Those of us who live in the UK do pay this maintenance fee in form of service charge, the only difference is that the charges are not exhorbitant and without it, you still get your normal service, but you may get in trouble with the councils when the time comes. Let me correct the wrong impression that the Pre-paid when bought belongs to the owner. By Nigeria law, you are actually "RENTING" those meters and they are not yours. They belong to the FG of Nigeria. Rubbish!!! Which law If the meters were leased to us, why were we not given a comprehensive policy on the terms ? why must i hear it from NL? Why would NERC make such a statement? |
Hi SegunTX, It is possible to earn that. But first of all, what exactly dyu wanna come back for: to work for an organisation or be self employed? I suggest that if you wanna come back in the next 4 yrs( after 10yrs work experience as a SAP consultant), you should think of starting up your company. What is key if u decide to come back is the value-add u r going to bring down here. There are many people who have studied and worked abroad here in Naija, so the competition is stiff. You must be able to differentiate yourself in a certain skill to give you a competitive edge. I dunno what this could be, but i also suggest that you do a lot of research work on what SAP can offer, the potential clients and competition. You should also start networking with Nigerians who will add value. Cheers. |
Floreat guys! It's always nice to hook up with my KCOBs. I was in Mckee Wrights House, up Mackay!!! Let's keep our flag flying, cheers |
i don't think it's a bad idea at all, |
Amalaaba:This is not hatred for the muslims. Don't twist things. Yuguda is totally wrong! why would he make remarks about a group that has killed so many innocent people? They are terrorists! He's represents the country, he has no right to make such remarks. If he were in the US or other developed economies, he would definately be arrested or interrogated. Boko Haram is an Islamic extremist sect doing wrong in vain. That does not point out Islam as a bad religion. At least to me and other civil Nigerians. Yuguda is a disappointment to this country!!!!! Gosh!!! |
Perfect candidates to train for the Olympics swimming? ![]() |
Yuguda should be arrested. What has he even done for his state? |
Are u sure the so called Mend is not the political BH in disguise? |
rubbish!! |
erm, isn't she getting a bit too many responsibilities? i hope she'll be able to perform ![]() |
Guys, let's get some things clear, 1. I do not think revoking the licenses of these banks is actually bad, if they could not recapitalise, 2. Sanusi has tried to bring sanity and fairness in thebanking sector through his rigourous enterprise risk management framework amongst others. The issue presently is his method, 1. Why would he give a deadline of September 30 and revoke the licenses of these banks over 50 days before the deadline? 2. He should know the signal effect and impact on the stakeholders(customers, staff etc) and shareholders 3. There is obviously going to be another banking turmoil, if anyone has his cash in any of these banks would he leave it and say the CBN has assured that nothing bad will happen? i don't think so 4. Why should we even believe the CBN after they did not keep their word concerning the deadline? 5. Why is it that as i write , Bank PHB signages are being removed and replaced with Keystone Bank? Where they made yesterday night?? 6. Why does Sanusi like controversies? We are yet to absorb the Islamic Banking issues, Cash Policy Limit, and then this ?!!!!These things were pre-determined long before now, Sanusi cannot lie to us. If some people on this blog think this affects only the concerned banks , then they they should critically think again. Another trouble looms. I do not even know what's next cos now i'm very disappointed and i kind of doubt the CBN's integrity on the banking reforms. The justification given for this premature decision is lousy. Why didn't Sanusi even announce this? Why was it the Minister of State for Finance ? Only God knows what is next. My point is thus; From these happenings, one could suspect a hidden agenda, and the CBN is loosing it's power to ensure confidence in the financial industry. Their integrity can be questioned, and we all know that banking has all to do with INTEGRITY. I am clearly not against the revoking of licenses, they are/should be the professionals , they see the books , they know the game. But why NOW ?? and not after September 30, 2011![]() ![]() This is clearly a case of putting square pegs in circular holes i.e tactlessness. We are back to trying to convince our source of income (the customers) and driving business again. How long will CBN guarantee the interbank market?? For how long will the CBN drive the real sector through the intervention funds?? This is two years into his administration and we are back to "zero" SLS had better give answers soon! I actually love his ideas but i hate his methods!!! |
@ Hapi, topics like this are very controversial. U should not post such on this blog. I suggest you delete this thread! It is not intelletual and makes no sense!! |
hissssss, i don't know why people don't wanna accept development o |
I am a Christian and support Islamic Banking 100%. This exists in developed countries, complementing the interest banking systems. My problem with SLS has been his method of giving information. Knowing the sensitivity of this and the low level of awareness among many "educated" Nigerians he should have been a bit subtle i.e getting everyone's (or majority) buy in before going ahead. The Muslim and Christian leaders should also take it easy too, I empathise with both parties. However, they should avoid making sensitive remarks. The Islamic Banking Model is just like any other Banking Model in the country. Let us embrace Islamic Banking, Let us embrace development! |
this is so not true! It's funny where these papers get their info these days! abi them no settle dem?? |
The more Buhari speaks, the more i thank God i did not choose him. His words spit out violence , no wonder his followers behave that way. Justifying Boko Haram; comparing them with mend?? These groups have different motives, even though they are to blame for insecurity in the country. Mr Intergrity plotted a coup, oh sorry, was not involved but became the president OK OK besides beefing, I agree though not as honest as he is perceived, he much more honest than the other greedy politicians, but he does not not have a clue of how to take Nigeria to the promised land. Follow his utterances after the elections, very unempathic to the Nigerian populace and unprofessional, He should think of redeeming Nigeria and not vent his anger on personal differences with rivals. Not coming for the election debate, his utterances after the post election violence are among the few things that make him incapable of running this country. Jonathan is DEFINATELY a better choice. However , come 2015, RIBADU is the choice. Buhari should learn from him! |
", However, despite all this one thing i never did was to brag or been arrogant. But sooner than later i began to hear numerous demoralizing comments made abt me by student. Just 2day a female student told me i was a "busy body". Some started been jealous of me. The worst part of the whole thing is that some teachers now attack me indirectly in there teaching. They make comments which makes me sometimes regret ever been brainy. One of them even said that those who think they r intelligent will surely fail jamb if care is not taking, with everybody knowing he was refering to me. Please i need to take this off my mind. It is really distracting me. What should i do? Is it bad for someone to be intelligent?, " 1. No beef, but work on your spellings and/or choice of words, as an intelligent boy i expect to see no error. 2. I advice that you talk less, you unconscious actions or words are beginning to get on peoples nerves. You need to learn the art of diplomacy cos of your perculiar gift. 3. No matter what , don't let peoples' comments weigh you down. Continue with your focus, don't loose your head. 4. Please, always be humble. |
