Update on avensis 2000, sorry didn't have time to take a lot of pics, but powersteering pump installed, drive shafts, suspension.

Noise from alternator will require a bearing replacement, noise from timing belt area is caused by the timing belt slapping the covers, a new timning belt should be replaced and bearing for alternator. (Alternator replacement would be easier)

Engine washed, job order complete.

Ball joints replaced, tie rod ends replaced still hear a slight noise but not suspension related, really confused now.

It was the stupid bonnet!!

Someone must have toyed with the rubber adjusters, adjusted and car is ok.

If this is actual mileage it is fair.

For a 6 year old car I doubt this mileage I gues it's a 2007 pimped to look like a 2009, post the vin I'll run it and give you specifics.

Apply grease in steering rack. Meanwhile I hope your front shock absorbers were re-assembled properly if they were previously worked on? Its not unheard of.

Need help.
My toyota CAMRY 2000 loses electric power occasionally for a duration of about 5 minutes before it restored without any serious effort.
During this period all lights on dashboard and inner lights will not respond.
Please, what could be responsible for this as I noticed this after buying a new battery.
Could it be the battery is bad?

You might have a grounding issue, check ground connections from engine bay area.

i don dey experience this tin for some days now . .. whenever i make a wide turn, for example . . .
from driving lane , then turn full left or full right back into the other lane . .
you know as you complete the turn and start moving straight, the steering wheel is supposed to straighten out itself . .
but mine refuses oh . . it will just hook , and d car continues to turn, until i straight it out by myself with my hand . .
secondly, while am completing the turn . . the front tires of the car would be bouncing . . someting like dat and making a kind of vibration noise
once i have turned completely and driving straight, the vibrational noise will stop

i dont think it's d shaft, cos a bad shaft will make a kind of "kra kra kra" loud noise during turns. .

so i am confused.

Check for presence of swaybar links, check if shocks are leaking.

I need to learn more about their TCM and ECUs. What the problem was and how you pinpointed it.
I know it will take time, But you could do this over the wknd

Just closed from work and I have a lot of time on my hands.

Sensor ground (negative connection for most engine sensors) was shorted to solenoid A and B. Each time I tested manually using batt connections, I disconnected ECM/TCM (to avoid story's that touch the heart,) that also meant that sensor ground was disconnected and I would here the solenoids click when tested. But in reality the TCM was unable to pass a signal along cause of the short. All I had to do was eliminate the short and all became well.

It's either leaking or the engine is burning it.

Avensis 2000, rear shocks installed, front shocks installed, tie rod ends, ball joints, rear swaybar links.

Power steering pump supplied was for 5s (camry) so will be returned, waiting for a replacement.

Oil change also done.

Work will be completed today. More updates as work progresses.

On a happy note, the Acura RL 2004 is r eady and good to go!!

Engine ECM/TCM was replaced and same faults showed up, harness was retraced and fault found .

I really have a crush on this car

No more dtc codes, washed and ready to go!

Back to the camry, new thermostat installed new radiator switch installed.

Front stabilizer links installed,

A drive test still revealed a slight noise from the front right wheel, so right suspension parts were disassembled and ball joint and inner tie rod ends were found to be the culprits. Worn out terribly and had been knocked in previously by a mechanic

In the morning the ball joints and inner Tierod end will be replaced, car will be aligned and job that should solve the problem.

I changed my gear box on Saturday, a 2006 camry V4. though initially budgeted for 10 pin, was informed that my car had a 13 pin tranny and I paid for and got a 'belgium' one. with the change, I noted that the car jerks between 1 to 2 and 2 to 3 ie 2 jerks as one accelerates to 80km/hr.
following the installation, Yukon brand of ATF was used to fill d gear. took it back to the mechanics and was informed that the jerking will clear with time but I have my reservations. Just spent about 280k with 250k just on the gear box.

appreciate the fact that you guys have answered a lot of guys like me but really need answers so as to sort it out before the ;warranty' expires.

P.S: a colleague of mine said I should take it to a computer guy to reset factory default/ synchronise engine and gear box or smth like that.

They put a 10pin and choped ur money. A scan will prove it

Note from the bottom the wires can me manipulated and it will look like a 13pin.

Meanwhile on a clear road count your gears, if you can count 1-2-3-4-5 then it's 13pin if it stops at 1-2-3-4 then it's 10pin and the jerking will not clear.

Meanwhile you spent over 300k on installing 13pin gear why you no locate my shop? I for give you over 50k discount on the original gear plus labour and oil costs

All evil parts removed, off to fix and replace relevant parts.

The thermostat switch on the left lowerside of the radiator will be replaced, thermostat is missing and will be replaced.

Inspection of rear suspension reveals that the previous mechanic was a lover of tyres , there are tyres in everything!! From under the rear coil springs, to inside the bushings.

So we are going to correct all that.

Just in, and as I promised, you can follow the repairs from the comfort of your office.

Toyota camry 2001, front and rear suspension jobs, scan code P0128, coolanttemp below thermostat regulating temp. Which basically means engine is running cold, a check reveals there's no thermostat and the fans run directly.

Off to work.

Parts have arrived for the xterra, the rear cylinder assemblies for the brakes.

Installed and along with rear swaybar links.

Had to cut the rear pipe to free the blockage.

Please Advice what to do. I have a 2003 honda accord and its having a gear issue although it hasn't been dismantled I have spoken to various mechanics some say get a new Transmission another said i shouldn't cause it might not be the transmission. I'm fed up. Do i sell the car in the condition or try fixing it cause i don't want to spend money diagnosing and they end up telling me to still change it.

Bring it for a test and scan, and I'll tell you what you need to do.

Welcome to the Club.. Just bought my Rx330 few months ago, swift and superb in driving but I notice the code 'VSC' on my board. I did scanning with my bro, came up with P0430 or P0320 not sure though but the code has to do with catalyst in exhaust. I took it to mechanic wat they did was to push 'mesh' into the exhaust. After clearing code, and driving for a while, VSC re-appears. Don't knw wat to do for now. Secondly, when I applied break, I do hear a sharp sound around the tires.. Could it be my break pad? I rep. I own a 2006 Honda Civic (Automatic) and my car has the following issues:

1. Occasionally, the " light" on the dashboard blinks while driving instead to be stable.

2. When it does that, and I shift the gear to any position ( D2, D3 or R), it will engage, but the indicator will be both in "" and any other position shifted to.

3. Whenever I experience the situation in 1 above, while driving it jerks heavily when approaching 30-40 Km/hr.

Meanwhile, I'm thinking of changing the gearbox, but I need expert advice on this forum 1st

Come for a scan before you have it replaced, it might be a faulty solenoid or speed sensor
