Quality 5W20 cost around 12k for 5liters.

12,000X5 = 60,000. Still more cost effective to replace engine.

that's y I have not closed that chapter. The vtm4 relay seems to have issues.

Throttle body fixed, brittle vacuum lines replaced, only thing left is the engine mount, engien runs beautiful at 630rpm

Throttle body cleaning. Notice the butterfly adjuster is completely unscrewed hence the stiff pedal.

Primary suspect confirmed.

Toyota camry 2001 code BI 14STR

Stiff throttle cable
High rpm
Excessive engine movement when accelerating


Primary culprit is front engine mount.

Best tools for removal as shown in pics

Suspend engine with jack before taking out mount

Heavy kazeemization of the vehicle.

car is on the path of recovery to factory specs.

Some terrible work noticed in o2 sensor wiring and idle speed sensor valve.

Idle speed sensor valve has been blocked with sachet water bags and harness of oxygen sensor is not factory.


Idle speed sensor has been fixed.

O2 sensor harness will have to be postponed for schematics to be downloaded and used for reconnection.


Idle speed ok.

Power steering clips replaced, throttle body servicing started

1 Brake disk bad and has to be replaced, the other is ok. Moving over to enginebay.

Starting with bank2sensor 1 o2 sensor

Brake disks being fixed.

Brake disks removed (had to burn out the locking bolts via hack welding)

Vibration when brakes are depressed
VTM 4 error
SRS error
Misfire on all cylinders
Evaporation emission issues
Idle speed lower than 600rpm

That is your perception ..... Lubex oil have never disappointed me. All these brands are just taking advantage of the market because these specifications are new to us in Nigeria. Toyota does not have a blending plant, they work with engine oil manufacturers that produces these oil in their name.
Automedics is known in Nigeria as a professional auto workshop and they recommend Lubex oil as a very good oil. You can get to buy Lubex oil at their office. Even the company that sells it run currently advert in Punch on every Sunday.

Lubex 5W30 is sold for 7,600 naira and is labeled FULL SYNTHETIC.

All these oils cost around 8-12k for 4liters, any one selling synthetic oil less than 6k is selling rubbish.

I'm not an engine oil marketer like most of you, but I do drains and refils on a daily basis, I see the damage caused by substandard oils, I see oil quality from drains that lasted over 6,000miles from quality engine oils and from substandard oils, so it's easy to tell what is palm oil rubish and what is good.

So now we are stuck with the wrong oil, does it mean we should start saving up money for a new engine? Is there no way to revive the engine?
Note, the engine does not give issues in any way. One touch start, good response, only smokes if reved up to 5000rpm when stationary (I don't know if that's normal)

Slow death, just save up and replace engine.

Thanks for the explanation. Would you consider 10w-40 semi-synthetic light for this purpose? I believe it would ease the engine's workload a little and improve performance slightly. Castrol brand sells for 4700 as well on Konga
