berem: Oga Gbawe, could you please explain why there was a court injunction stopping fashola from commissioning the bridge?I think it was linked to the Court case raised in regard to the tolling of the bridge. http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=105952:lawyer-asks-court-to-stop-ikoyi-lekki-toll-&catid=1:national&Itemid=559 Lawyer asks court to stop Ikoyi-Lekki toll |
maryjames9: What qualified the fisherman to be President in the first place? A man with absolutely no achievement in bayelsa. Let me tell you, it takes a visionary man like Fash to govern Nigeria, not a dulard and learner like Gej. Most of you who support Gej are doing that cos he is an Ijaw man, southern man but you need to be objective and take sentiments away. Goodluck is not the right man for this country. He just don't know what to do with the resources in his domain than setting up committees. Yes there was bh, that is no excuse for failure. I voted Gej like many other cos he said he was shoeless. Many of us expected more from this man but his achievement so far is behind 20 percent100% real and correct talk. Some people have no shame. They can dishonestly tell us that administering Lagos, by far the most populous and most cosmopolitan State in Nigeria, is "different" to leading Nigeria yet same hypocritical folks have no qualms , because he is their kinsman, supporting a hideously crass mediocrity ,who failed in Bayelsa with it comparatively large allocation, as "President material". They are even happy to tell everyone, in a show of clannish worship and lack of national ambition, that "there is no vacancy in the Villa" instead of simply accepting that GEJ is a failure, placed far above his league, who should be replaced by others who have shown themselves far better than him with how they have stood out in challenging positions - something GEJ has never done . Could bigoted and unreasonable support be more obvious? If Fashola is not fit to lead Nigeria can anyone show us who is? |
Dike Chimezie: Obj +Lamido + Amaechi + ...< GEJ + power of incumbency. Not at all a fan of OBJ but can you listen to yourself? What always amazes me about people like you is your ingratitude and revisionism that makes you totally happy, any time and any day, to disregard what is obvious. So GEJ got where he did by his own divine power and ability alone? For you, OBJ did nothing to help GEJ gain power at all and is now only fit to be insulted and disrespected because he is no longer behind GEJ? I personally despise OBJ and I think he deserves all he gets from ungrateful fans of GEJ such as yourself. Yet one cannot but feel sorry for the old man with how things have come 360 degrees to show him that he would have been better off supporting opinionated performers instead of propping up assumed "meek and gentle" leaders who may transform into a horrid menace for the entire nation as was the case with Shagari, Yar Adua and now GEJ. As if that is not enough, doubly sad for OBJ that GEJ also has the most clannish, most ungrateful, most foul-mouthed and most divisive supporters any leader can have. Baba OBJ, please enjoy the negative aspect of what you created wilfully. See it now? All your efforts for GEJ totally forgotten and you are now the enemy to be cheaply insulted daily. Good for you. In your next life time, support good men and enduring respect is assured. Your direct contemporaries like Kufour of Ghana are now enjoying honour and respect because they did the right thing yet you are being insulted by the fans of a man who is not even a good leader and has no right to be where he if not for the wicked and self-calculating machinations of men like you. Fitting end for you sir. |
OBJ saying GEJ has to go in 2015? Pretty much the opinion of most political stakeholders outside the ND. There is no way a Politician can be as openly treacherous, as wantonly divisive, as callously disappointing and anti-people as GEJ is (to virtually everyone including Political colleagues and ordinary Nigerians) yet said politicians can expect to have any form of support base outside his own region which the blindly ethnocentric nature of Nigerians guarantees. We wish GEJ 'goodluck' even getting the PDP ticket in 2014. |
django1: You don't know anything about the said bridge and you're talking! The least you can know is that heavy trucks are barred from taking the bridge. Did you witness the construction? No, but still you say the bridge is not up to par! Is your phone a diagnostic x ray vision, spirit foretelling phone? How did you know its not up to standard from mere looking at the pictures?I wonder OOOO. Same as how Nigerians will look at a lean man/woman, fit and with optimal BMI, to say he/she is "unhealthy. Yet they will adjudge the obese and rotund man/woman, perhaps the next serious exertion away from a heart attack, as "healthy and glowing". What a nation. What a people and what a long way we have to go. |
^ Dude go read the write up again and stop disgracing yaself in public
kiyosaki1: pls go and read Fasakin write up again and try and understand it before commenting.Thank god you guys have also worked out how this dude is only capable of using hot air to disguise his below average comprehension skills. |
Gbawe, you are the one that should check your desperate self! You and Fashakin have a beclouded sense of judgment that belongs to the stone age as rightly pointed out by Abati. You should have been born when men walk around unclad. The President, by choice, elected to speak at the conference. It was never compulsory. So what is the fuss to you if he delegates that duty and chooses to attend to what is obviously more beneficial than addressing the summit on generic issues? Nigeria should be rid of all you jobless noisemakers for good!
Instead of this senseless and personality-centred verbosity, can you tell us whether what is written below is not a 'knockout' blow cementing how Abati has been bested by Fashakin? Since I have known you here, you have always been about sentiments and empty arguments. You have never shown an inclination for ideas, facts or logic-based argument. Tragic to see you have not changed at all in all this time. You are the "jobless noise-maker" Nigeria should be rid of because, as I always say, it is no crime to be partisan but it is wrong to be a lair or to be a person who can never work with facts, logic and reality alongside their affiliation. You are not even mature enough to see the implication of how Abati inadvertently and amateurishly gives credence to the rumour that GEJ was drunk with how he based his response to Fashakin on this while the CPC spokesman had to remind him that they never implied GEJ's absence was due to inebriation. Talk about shooting oneself in the foot amateurishly. Abati disgraced himself and you are busy insulting other Nairalanders who highlight this. What does this say about you? How are you different to Abati, with only insults as weapons, who is easily discombobulated with the fact/logic-based approach of Fashakin? “In our earlier communication, the word ‘inebriation’ was not used or implied in describing the reason for the President’s inability to read his statement to the audience at the summit. But Abati, the untutored presidential spokesman, in a clumsily laid out verbosity, imputed this as part of our statement. Could this idiocy indeed be a Freudian slip? |
Eko Atlantic: I also first thought it was inferiority complex but I realized it's not. You don't expect an immigrant to overlook what's going on in his/her away home hosting him/her. They all live in SW states, more are still immigrating on minute bases and others in their villages are willing to migrate someday. For this, I think they should be given the opportunity to express their concerns for the betterment of SW.If you are correct then I am indeed very worried for them because people like that, rather than wasting time on discussion blogs, should be busy looking within themselves to gain answers as per why they harbour negativity for their host States and her people. It does not seem like normal or balanced behaviour to me and I think some people would benefit from psychological counselling instead of carrying such unhealthy minds around. Why, for example, would anyone be living in Oyo and talking constantly about Akwa Ibom? Would it not be the most natural thing in the world for such folks to move to the Akwa Ibom they are touting to be "paradise"? |
Sincere 9gerian: “As a Party, we really sympathize with Abati.."- FashakinDude, what is wrong with you? I know you are shameless but don't you know when to eat humble pie and remain silent? Did you take in what is written below, exposing the amateur antics of Abati, before showing your face here? Every sensibly ambitious fan of the President will concede that what is revealed below represents unacceptable incompetence that sends out the clear message of how GEJ is surrounded by dullards and cretins who are second best to others. We must conclude you are included in that category as well with how you cannot see that Abati, based on what is written below alone, has come off a very poor second best against Fashakin despite his uncouthness and gutter-like lack of refinement. |
J12: All this noise for one small flyover? Na wa o.There is no noise at all. OP merely provided his own pictures for other Nairalanders to see regarding a completed project in Oyo State. Those who turned this into "noise" are the charlatans concerned with childish d1ck comparison with no thoughts for engineering/architectural considerations affecting design, scale and size of projects. |
Billyonaire: Chill out bro, dont always take things personal. You are old enough to father most Nairaland, so you need to always focus on thread and keep your sentiments out of the equation. You, my friend, need more education on behaviorism, Mannerism and Truthology. That bridge is NOT good enough for the Tax Payers of Oyo State. That, my friend, is the truth.I don't take anything personal. I just can't stand bigots and ethnic jingoist like you same as I have no time being polite to a white supremacists. You are only into empty mischief and you cannot help yourself. You have no honour and are a shallow liar to boot. Exposed here for the prejudiced garbage you wrote, enough to make any "Westerner" angry, you try to make out the issue is with others instead of apologizing for your prejudiced outlook or shutting up. Dude, you are the one who needs a lesson in manners because you seem to think you can insult others and gain no reprimand. |
rodeo0070: And how would you know that the work done is less than the aforementioned amount? Or Do you work in the construction sector?Thank you very much. Look, I know a thing or two about built environment and urban planning as a matter of professional interest and I can tell you categorically that the first person to disregard and ignore will be one making broad generalisations about cost, design, scale etc from "looking" alone. I cannot even begin to tell you the level of ignorance involved in doing such. |
Billyonaire: The People of Oyo State deserve an excellent bridge, not this Eye-Sore. That State receives billions of Naira from Federal Government every 4 weeks and generate other revenues internally. Where is the fucking money going to ?You really have no shame. You now want to pretend to care about Oyo folks who are part of the Westerners you claim have a "deep rooted jealousy" for the "perfectionist" from the ND? Guy, I think it is amply clear you are another person suffering from inferiority complex and delusions of grandeur. Why don't you go and start a thread about the "perfectionist" projects in your ND instead of disturbing folks here with your insecurity-led d1ck comparison? |
rodeo0070: I understand you point of view. No one is against speaking the "truthful truth" but assuming your statements are backed with enough prove like engineering or construction experience and the likes, then I'll stand on your points raised. I have a reason for saying this...You may not know this slimeball here but believe his deceptive utterance at your own peril. He is another insecure twit always on SW issues negatively 24/7. Look below at his earlier rant of Westerners having "deep-rooted" jealousy for the "perfectionists" from the ND. Is it not obvious this is another fool suffering from inferiority complex? Can anyone, after reading the ugly, prejudiced comment below think this chap capable of being objective about any SW project when he simplistically thinks South Westerners are jealous of "perfectionist" Niger Delta? He is nothing but an insecure clown. Who is in competition with him and why is he, and others like him, always quick to knock anything positive revealed about the SW only for them to then talk of Akwa Ibom while delivering pictures no one asked for? It is obvious who is really suffering from jealousy. We all know insecure people always brag about themselves to others they feel inferior to. Stop insulting, You Westerners have deep-rooted jealousy for perfectionists from the Niger Delta. That bridge is an eyesore, if you want to see bridges, google Akwa Ibom State. |
rodeo0070: A part of me is from N/Delta too. But your assertion as per the standard of the flyover is not adequate. Mere looking is not enough...Precisely. At least not from an engineering perspective. We cannot just reduce every discussion here to whimsical talk ignorant of facts, science and logic. The Walkway bridge below, over the Kakum National Park , Cape Coast was designed and built by Dutch engineers yonks ago. It is still entirely functional today. Is it the best walkway bridge anyone has seen? Absolutely not. Yet can you argue it is not doing what it was designed to do? We should at least attempt to touch on what matter here intelligently and not just limit discussions to shallow bickering. Billyonaire: All these grammar should have been channeled to a Governor who thought he has achieved something by erecting a dilapidating structure. Look at the edges of that so-called Bridge, just look at the cow-dung bitumen, there is intolerable pedestrian sidewalk, there is no railing for balancing, the entire thing looks very unprofessional. I doubt if these bigots have traveled outside their mud denominated communities before contesting for Governorship. This is simply an Amala Bridge.Of course it would be to a fraudster and ignoramus such as yourself. If the Bridge functionally plays it's part to aid overall transport efficiency, then I don't think any grateful end user will care what a petty fraudster, consumed with inferiority complex and petty envy for others, think. |
lovejo: I'm yoruba guy and I grow up in Ibadan, i was in Ibadan last year December and January, the flyover is below par compare to standard flyover I have seen across the world even in other part of Nigeria.Look, with all due respect, what exactly will you regard as "up to par"? Is the bridge found wanting in terms of structural strength or safety? Is it deficient in it original role of aiding the efficient flow of traffic ? Or do we just declare this bridge not "up to par" because it does not look like the Manhattan bridge or another in Akwa Ibom without any consideration whatsoever for salient engineering considerations that has affected the size, scale and looks of the Bridge? |
anonimi: Why are you forcing me to say something on this our ogbonge very narrow bridge now?It really is difficult having to come here to note semi-illiterate characters like you and that buffoon-like yahoo-yahoo fraudster who calls himself Billyonaire, time and time again, disturbing the peace of others here with your spiteful antics. Do you two simpletons think bridges, or any constructed structure in a built environment for that matter, can simplistically be compared for looks alone and without consideration for other determinant factors that has affected scale, size and design? You two low-IQ irritants better ask for information from Nairalanders employed in construction, perhaps specifically related to urban planning and development, instead of displaying your scant knowledge and idiocy this appallingly. There are bridges and even tunnels in the UK, London specifically, narrower than this. For example, the A13 bridge, over the Ripple road corner, is narrower than this. The Rotherhithe tunnel is also more narrow than this bridge. Go and understand the concept of functionality limiting physical design and stop disturbing us here with your petty hatred and jealousy. |
eGuerrilla: There is dignity in labour.Indeed. @Topic. I personally wish the young man the best and hope he continues to make progress. Once again, one is reminded of how difficult things are for ordinary Nigerians. |
@OP. Thanks for the effort and Well done. |
Deliberate leaders deliver deliberate results. |
"Operation victory or the end of Nigeria". |
Ovularia: "nothing dey happen" ![]() How can you say that? "Fresh air" justice dey happen well-well. Soon criminals from all over Africa will beg to be tried in Nigeria so they can receive justice 'GEJ-style'. |
Mogidi: And this is coming from a man who worships Tinubu come on Gbawe you really have no shame. What is the matter? What is this pre-menstrual display in aid of? Did I mention your name or is it that my words spoke to your guilty conscience personally? |
These PDP desperados sef. Where is the Ifa Priest? Where is Guru Maharaji? The Dalai Lama Nko? Could they not fly the Pope down as well? Anyway, it is their money and they can waste it as they please yet even a 5 year old child knows that the PDP is finished in the SW. |
Shame on the blind GEJ supporters here. You guys are an absolute disgrace if you can still talk in defence of the GEJ gang of Mimiko/Akpabio/Obi and Jang. It means you people are undoubtedly fraudulent in real life and general miscreants. Every decent person has a level at which they will turn back to concede this is wrong. Yet we know criminal-minded elements will back criminal behaviour. |
superior1: I knew it was Aregbe that did the recording, that guy na street smart politicianYes. A few of you guys actually guessed right that it would have been Aregbesola doing the recording the minute it was revealed that a video of the election existed. Good guess. @topic. Na wa sha. Look at the mess this sit-tight President is getting himself into. A man who has gone far, far beyond his modest ability would ordinarily have carried him now decides that what he wants he must get never mind the damage to anything or anyone. It will end in tears 100%. Much as some unexposed and brainwashed dullards, suffering from Stockholm syndrome, delight in shouting "you cannot fight the President" is how some of us will tell fans of GEJ that the President is not god and that "pride comes before a fall". |
PapaBrowne: The most effective administrators in Nigeria??Shut up and get lost. I don't take slef-confessed fraudsters like you seriously. Instructive you have no comment on the topic and the discredited noise of your co-traveller in lies (Beaf) who has now disappeared. Similarly, and testifying to your dishonest nature, you are silent over another failed promise from your irredeemably corrupt messiah (GEJ). Yet the mention of "Aregbesola" gets you worked up. Even Insincere9gerian has given up the losing battle to admit that ACN Governors are performing. Abeg, take a hike. The rancid stench of dishonesty reeking from your mouth is choking the air here. |
Ptimes: We now bring you an amateur footage of the May 24 Nigeria Governors’ Forum election during which Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, was reelected chairman after he defeated his only challenger, Jonah Jang of Plateau State 19 votes to 16.Some Nairalanders were indeed right to indicate that it was Aregbesola bravely and innovatively playing cameraman ![]() With his mobile phone, Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun captured most of the proceedings of an election that featured intense maneuvering from governors on a clear divide, either in support or against President Goodluck Jonathan’ candidate, Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau state. |
ANDYMUKOLO: Can u say same about ibori today? Choi !!! See pure wickedness. Making a mockery of a man based on his previous utterance is a crime before man and god. ![]() |
Sibrah: Freshest Air! The reason OP is forced to go take new IDs and change tactics. After 2015 drama . . . . Oga On Top may be force to dress up like a woman and go for Plastic surgery abroad. Smart guy. Besides, how will the moronic OP justify his stay here under his original moniker when the Aregbesola he attacked 24/7 has now gone on to become one of the most effective administrators in Nigeria? EVen more shameful for the OP is the fact that the Governor of his own State he confessed he is scared to criticise, i.e Uduaghan, has now unravelled as a clueless and worthless waste of space.GEJ, meanwhile, becomes more of an absurd joke daily. Can anyone blame the cowardly, clueless and discredited OP for disappearing? |
