It is not GEJ deciding Anenih's fate, rather it is GEJ giving a criminal Anenih access to state instrument to be used to rig GEJ and his cohorts back to power. Anenih is detesting and a representation of everything evil in our land.

I don't give a damn about his like, my only anger is seeing the very people who are being cheated by Anenih and co like me (I mean all Nigerians that are not beneficiaries of the evil system we are in) who are foolishly supporting the evil people that have nothing good for our land.

All same people in our land should rather be organising to not only push the likes of Anenih to the background but to get back every kobo they have stolen for us and punish them for the millions of Nigerians which their bad governance have sent to early graves; and the millions of our youths who are lavishing without Jobs.
You are right. The bit in bold about "damning the consequences" is what we are seeing now with all these desperate antics from team GEJ. That is why the emotional kids here are warned to prepare themselves and not sh1t their pants crying when the fightback GEJ is encouraging comes. The man is so desperate to remain in Aso Rocks he has boxed himself into a corner with cowards, charlatans and hungry mercenaries as allies.

http://saharareporters.com/news-page/%E2%80%9Cmr-fix-it%E2%80%9D-tony-anenih-emerge-pdp-enforcer

Analysts say Mr. Anenih, who is widely known as “Mr. Fix-It” on account of his ruthlessness, would be the perfect BOT leader for Mr. Jonathan because he knows how to manipulate elections and would be needed by Mr. Jonathan because he cannot win a free and fair election on account of his dismal record.

“The 2015 election will be a referendum on the 16 years of the PDP in control in Nigeria, half of it with Mr. Jonathan as Number One or Number Two, and during which Nigeria has walked backwards,” one analyst said. “To that extent, and whichever way you look at it, there is no way they can reasonably present an election campaign most Nigerians will buy. So Anenih, who knows where the bodies are buried, or where to bury them, will be the perfect choice to deliver a dark election for Mr. Jonathan and damn the consequences.

Last year, Mr. Jonathan appointed Mr. Anenih to the lucrative post of chairman of the Nigerian Ports Authority, ostensibly to corner valuable funds for his forthcoming re-election effort.

sheriffman: When APC was formed and it was rumoured that some PDP guvs were lobbying to join the party,it didnt come as a surprise cos we knew that some were not happy with GEJ and considering his underground 2015 moves it will block their way.Now having said this GEJ installs Anenih ad BOT chairman,GEJ installs Akpabio as d PDP guvs forum chairman one can say that he is palying his hands too early as this as this may wrk against him
Absolutely. With two years to go, these desperate antics only give others full notice of GEJ's plan. They have ample time to fight him. One thing is sure. Governance that was already very poor and universally condemned under GEJ will suffer even more from now on.
PoliticsRe: Anenih Is Elected PDP BoT Chairman by Gbawe: 2:04pm On Feb 26, 2013
Being bullish is far from being intelligent. GEJ is clueless. He has shown his bullish ways. We have two years to stage the show. I am afraid he has shown his hand too early in the game and he will surely be dealt with.

I for one have never supported him because I know crooks when I see them. I know him immediately he denied zoning. I also know him as a criminal fool. Now that more Nigerians who has suffered the present hardship in the land are seeing his hands early in the game; they will surely swell the numbers that is required to boot him out.

As for you, you have nothing to gain by celebrating a fool who has imposed himself on a dying nation without brains to lead us out of the woods. If we remain under GEJ you will certainly suffer with us; if we liberate Nigeria, you will also enjoy as every Nigeria. My annoyance is that people like you are making all of us suffer the criminal rule of PDP.

If we have had a different country where Buhari had been our President for these two years that GEJ has been there, you would have seen enough of what good government is to envy us a learn what true leadership entails. Unfortunately, we must find a way to drag people like you along; we must get a majority to begin to build a country we can call ours. So unfortunately, but that we must do.
You have said it all but you are talking to emotional kids here who focus on personalities rather than issues. Watch as they will begin crying when, inevitably, others begin to respond to the bullying antics of GEJ that is an attempt to shut everyone out to gain the PDP through imposing himself on the Party.

For folks like you with clarity of vision, it must be tragic and worrying to note how some Nigerians think that shows why we have the leaders we do today. The truth is that many Nigerians are not morally upright. We all have our bias and affiliation but anyone supporting the truncation of democratic ideals is a myopic fool because that is what has been at the root of many guerilla and underground agitations worldwide. As I said earlier, the crybabies here , when they develop selective amnesia, will be reminded of the antics of GEJ when others react after being frozen out undemocratically and prevented from competeing to test popularity and acceptance in the true spirit of democracy.

Man mi, I cannot count how many times in my life I have seen cowardly bullies throw the first blow only to start crying when hit by the Mike Tyson uppercut that was thrown in response.

Why will Nigerian leaders not be taking you all for a ride when they know they lead the most sentimental people prone to do everything yet never to reasoning logically and without sentiments. Eko Atlantic City: From adversity to prosperity
Written by Sulaimon Olanrewaju Tuesday, 26 February 2013 00:00 font size Print Email

https://tribune.com.ng/news2013/images/2602feat1.jpg

Sulaimon Olanrewaju writes that the story of Eko Atlantic City is a classical example of seeing prospects in a problem.
All eyes were on Lagos last week as dignitaries gathered to witness the laying of the dedication stone for the five million square-metre Eko Atlantic City, a modern city which South Energyx Nig Ltd., in partnership with the Lagos State government, is building inside the Atlantic Ocean-end of the state.
Those present at the ceremony were overawed by the pinnacle of civil and marine engineering which the project represents.

Speaking at the event, President Goodluck Jonathan observed that “When completed, the Atlantic City will not only benefit the promoters of this project, but it will be an important addition to our nation’s strive to promote tourism and good living. The project is a great example of partnership, for it brings private individuals and companies who have the knowledge and requisite expertise to transform land lost to erosion into a delightful Ocean City.”

In his address, former president of the United States of America, Bill Clinton, said, “No one is strong or wealthy enough to solve all the world’s problems; but it is the collective efforts of people that make a difference. And I urge you to continue. I am convinced a lot of people will want to come and see this place.”
Lagos State governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola, in his remark, said, “This project is not finished, but it is already a success story”, adding that “The walls built to arrest any over-flowing of the sea, tagged ‘The Great Wall of Lagos’ will not only protect the new city from the Atlantic Ocean, but also the adjoining Victoria Island.

“The wall now stands at three and a half kilometres in length and has brought back the coastline of Victoria Island to where it was a century ago before coastal erosion began to wash it away. The Eko Atlantic land reclamation started in February 2008 with a seven-year dredging operation planned to create 8,000 square metres of new land every day.”

When completed, the new city would be home to 250,000 people and a workplace of 150,000 others as it is planned as a blend of commercial and residential developments. The city is to have different districts with different offerings. It has been touted that when fully developed, Eko Atlantic City will be better than Manhattan in New York City and Dubai in United Arab Emirate.

According to the Head of Communications for the city, Mr. Brent Sadler, “Eko Atlantic is a ground breaking vision for the future of Lagos, offering world-class infrastructure to facilitate the development of a new African city. It will help meet the needs of Lagos’ growing population and business community. Eko Atlantic will be a clean, energy efficient city for the 21st Century.”

However, the story of the budding city is that of turning adversity into prosperity. In 2003, erosion ravaged a good part of Victoria Island, with a very serious threat to Ahmadu Bello Way, whose border had partially collapsed into the sea.
Worried about this development, the state governor at the time, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, sought the help of experts with a view to stemming the tide of erosion which was threatening to swallow up the whole of Victoria Island.

According to the Managing Director of South Energyx, Mr. David Frame, whose company was approached by the former governor to proffer a permanent solution to the problem, it was in the course of the study of the problem by the company that it discovered that it was pertinent to save Ahmadu Bello Way from the effect of erosion, being the highest elevation on the island. He added that if the area was allowed to be washed away by erosion it would portend serious danger to the continued existence of the entire Victoria Island.

The study also revealed that the original coastline of Bar Beach was actually two-and-a-half kilometres further out to the sea, meaning that two and a half kilometres had been lost to the waters. Frame stated that it was the informed opinion of experts that if a wall was constructed on the original coastline, it would effectively check the course of the erosion.

“It was at that point that the whole concept of building a new city fell into place; we decided to put the sea wall on the original coastline as much as we could determine. We then decided to fill up all the area that was lost to erosion. That is the beginning of the Eko Atlantic City project,” Frame said.
Corroborating Frame’s submission, Mr Adesegun Oniru, Lagos State Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development, while addressing a press conference, said, “The Eko Atlantic City project is essentially a reclamation and environmental protection project. The overall objective is to restore land lost to coastal erosion since the late 1950s and to provide a permanent solution to the erosion problem by providing a robust sea wall or revetment along the newly reconstructed coastline.”

To protect the reclaimed land from ocean waves the Great Wall of Lagos is being built offshore. According to South Eneryx, “Before the first of the giant concrete armoured blocks for the Great Wall of Lagos was lowered into position, its ability to withstand the worst of the Atlantic tidal surges was put to test. Urban engineers at DHI, the world-renowned Danish hydraulic research centre, carried out extensive scale model trials. Data analysis by computer models showed that the Great Wall would keep Lagos safe from the worst tidal surges that can be expected over 1000 years.”

However, sequel to untoward past experiences of ocean surges that had been experienced over the years, one of the major concerns of residents of Lagos and Nigerians in general is the likely adverse effects of the project on the environment.

In his address at the laying of the dedication stone ceremony, President Jonathan, referring to this, said, “I have received briefing to the effect that the construction of Atlantic City is benefiting from cutting-edge technology with special attention paid on climatic conditions including the perennial threats of ocean surges that has posed serious challenge to human and property on the coast of Victoria Island.”

Speaking on the outcome of social and environmental impact assessment carried out on the project, Mr. Dirk Heuboer of the Royal Haskoning, the company that handled the assessment, reported that, “In view of the scale of Eko Atlantic, it is concluded that the project will have major positive effects in restoring and protecting the shoreline and minimal side effects.
“A scoping exercise was carried out to identify the main issues that needed addressing as part of the Environmental Impact Assessment. Following this, a report was prepared and the terms of reference for the EIA were agreed with the Federal Ministry of Environment, the body with national regulatory authority over the project.

“Extensive consultations have been carried out throughout the EIA process. They started during the scoping phase with meetings with Federal ministry of Environment, the Lagos State Ministry of Environment and the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA.
“Following these sessions, further consultations were expanded to cover a wider range of stakeholders and local community leaders. Consultation and liaison with relevant parties will continue.

“The Eko Atlantic Project has completed a full and comprehensive Environmental and Social Impact Assessment on the entire land reclamation works and its sea wall protection as required under the Nigerian Environmental Impact Assessment Act No. 86 of 1992. The EIA has been carried out in accordance with these regulations.
“The EIA was submitted to the Federal Ministry of Environment and underwent public consultation in November 2011. In January, 2012, the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Environment gave EIA approval for Eko Atlantic reclamation works and sea-wall protection in combination with established procedures for ongoing compliance,” he added.

With plans in place to rein in the rage of the ocean, the Eko Atlantic City project, which targets reclamation and transformation of an area earlier lost to nature is a testimony to the fact that with the right leadership and deployment of appropriate technology man will always be a step ahead of nature.

PapaBrowne: Hypocrisy at its finest!! Hypocrisy doesnt get finer than this.
When APC has Audu Ogbeh and Tom Ikimi as key drivers and ideologugues, you claimed they've repented and would be aligned into a new thinking of the "progressives". I would have agreed with you if the new thinking had been formed before they came in, but no, they have now been given the task of forming the ideology of the APC.

Now, a new group is emerging with a broader cross section of Nigerians and a more national outlook than the APC and your hypocrisy suddenly emerges to judge them with a different set of standards than you used on the APC. So much for rationalism.

Bias and Hypocrisy are two diseases that prevent people from seeing clearly and thinking rationally such that could have helped them in planning better strategies against their opponents. If you and the other APC fellas continue on this part of blinded reasoning, you would keep failing like you guys did in 2011. Tinubu shocked you guys then with his sudden support for Jonathan. Ribadu has probably shocked you here with his presence in this new group. I said it last time that Oshiomole has no place in APC, this new party is where he belongs and they will make APC look like a a gathering of secondary school students who failed JAMB and yet want to proceed to university.
Now exposed. The sentimental and vacuously pugnacious nature of Nigerians that allow many to lose the ability for simple reasoning. No one is more indicative of this than Papabrowne always keen to take 'flights of fantasy'. Deluded guy already talking of "broader cross section". After all the noise, the so-called Political group is no more than a glorified 'pepper soup' meeting. Shior. Sadly, insulting others and focusing on personality, never ideas, is what most Nigerians do best. This lack of political sophistication is the reason our nation is what it is. Over to all of you who worked yourselves up and insulted others when some of us simply told you to be circumspect and think logically. There was no way this could ever have been the birth of a political Party but we can always trust sentiments to carry the day with Nigerians.

G37 not a political party – Kalu
Our Reporter February 26, 2013 1 Comment »

The Chairman of G37, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, has dispelled insinuations that the group was nursing an ambition of forming and launching a new political party as claimed in some newspapers and online news media.

Speaking from Liberia, through his Special Adviser, Oyekunle Oyewumi, Kalu, a former governor of Abia State, said G37 is just a gathering of like minds who have come together to share experiences and knowledge on the state of the Nigerian nation with the aim of contributing their own quota to the promotion of good governance for the betterment of Nigeria and Nigerians.

Kalu, who said he remains a committed member of the Peoples Democratic Party, noted that the G37’s membership cuts across different political parties and affiliations, religion and geographical zones, making it apolitical and neutral.

He further stated that the group was not an agent of any political party or individual, adding: “It is a selfless effort for the collective interest of our fatherland, Nigeria and nothing else. “We are working for the unity and progress of our country to make it a better place to live.

Even a child will know all GEJ's antics is desperate initial 'gra-gra' only premature ejacu1ators like insecure9gerian would celebrate. When the "nest of killers" start to strike back, through whatever means they deem appropriate since GEJ has made it crystal clear he wants to take away the rights of others to compete, it is all these same crybabies you will see rolling on the floor, gnashing their teeth and weeping uncontrollably. My brother, believe me it is going to be one enjoyable show.

The difference btw Gbawe and u kids is that the he post with points you can look up/read etc while you guys just rant and attack the messenger instead of focusing on the message.

As Gbawe said , dont come here to "cry" when other start their own "SHOW"
You will see them soon in their revisionism when others, as will be the case, start to react. They would all have forgotten the dictatorial actions of GEJ they backed yesterday to be pronouncing him the "minority" President others are "ganging up" against. This is what marks out childish men. Their lack of readiness to accept that actions have reactions. GEJ is fighting dirty here directly thwarting what democracy is about. Those things always fail and it is myopic for any Nigerian to support such. All these sycophants, like insincere9gerian, have forgotten that GEJ has alienated everyone with his treachery to now get to this stage where his ambition is reviled almost unanimously by many in his own Party.

He can therefore not allow elections at Party level because he will be disgraced. As the unprincipled desperado he is, he has allowed some to egg him on with the notion that the President of Nigeria can get away with anything, however dictatorial and treacherous, against anyone. Let us continue to watch. Mark my word, it is these same set of crybabies who will be crying in future, playing victim and revising history to portray their messiah as a victim when he has gained the trouble he asked for.

Politicians should do their thing but open shows of abuse of power, to take out others, have a way of forcing the most desperate to be equally ruthless. Were it that these kids here are the sort to accept the notion of 'tit-for-tat' then I say let the games begin and "may the best man/team win" but the sad thing is that they will be here crying tomorrow when others hit back. This is only the beginning.

NGF election postponed to thwart Amaechi’s landslide

FEBRUARY 26, 2013 BY NIYI ODEBODE, JOHN ALECHENU AND OLUSOLA FABIYI 34 COMMENTS

Governor Rotimi Amaechi and President Goodluck Jonathan

THE Nigerian Governors’ Forum, against all expectations, suddenly postponed its election on Monday, saying the incumbent chairman of the Forum, Governor Rotimi Amaechi, should be allowed to finish his tenure in May before a successor is elected.

But beyond the official reason, however, The PUNCH learnt that the postponement was the outcome of intense Presidency manoeuvring vis-a-vis President Goodluck Jonathan’s 2015 ambition.

Sources said supporters of Jonathan pushed for the postponement when they received signals that the President’s candidate for the NGF chairmanship, Katsina State Governor Ibrahim Shema, was heading for a defeat against Amaechi.

“When it was clear that Amaechi would have easily won re-election, they (Jonathan’s loyalists in the NGF) quickly called for the postponement of the election, saying that the current leadership should be allowed to finish its tenure in the spirit of democracy,” a governor-participant at the NGF meeting in Abuja on Monday told one of our correspondents.

The denial by the Presidency on Sunday, notwithstanding, the NGF under Amaechi was said to have constituted a burden to Jonathan who is said to be doubtful of the Rivers State governor’s loyalty.

“President Goodluck Jonathan does not have anything to do with who is or who becomes the chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum. The group is not a constitutional organ, though members have constitutional rights of freedom of association,” Jonathan’s Special Adviser on Political Matters, Ahmed Gulak, had said in an exclusive interview with one of our correspondents in Abuja on Sunday.

On the eve of the stalemated governors’ poll, the Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum was born during a meeting presided over by Jonathan in Aso Rock.

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Godswill Akpabio, a known loyalist of Mr. President, is the chairman of the new forum that has continued to excite the PDP leadership and Jonathan’s men.

Feelers from the governors’ meeting which held at the Sokoto State Lodge, Abuja, on Monday, indicated that the Presidency persuaded one other governor from the north who was interested in leading the NGF to step down for Shema.

Besides Shema, the Benue State Governor, Mr. Gabriel Suswan, was said to have indicated interest in the NGF chairmanship.

A northern governor, who pleaded anonymity, said Shema was picked after the intervention of the Presidency.

He said, “The chairmanship of the NGF and the PDP governors’ forum will play a big role in who emerges as the president in 2015. The Presidency sees Shema as a moderate.

“Suswan, who is also close to the President, was persuaded to step down. He may be compensated with the Chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum.”

Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu is the incumbent chairman of the the Northern Governors’ Forum. Apart from nursing a presidential ambition, it was Aliyu that recently challenged Jonathan to respect an agreement he purportedly reached with governors in 2011 to serve only one term as president.

It was gathered that the Presidency pushed for the emergence of the Akwa Ibom State, Governor, Mr. Goodswill Akapbio, as part of the move to stop Amaechi.

Amaechi, after the NGF poll was postponed on Monday said, “Members reviewed the affairs of the forum in the past 21 months detailing the activities, achievements and challenges experienced during the period.

“After the exhaustive deliberation of the issues of filling vacant positions, the forum resolved that elections in this regard be postponed till May when the chairman initial two tenures will expire.”

His deputy, Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, also said that the incumbent chairman of the NGF was entitled to another term.

A governor told one of our correspondents that it would be an impossible task for Amaechi to retain the post as the election of Akpabio of Akwa Ibom, also in the South-South, is seen as a move to stop him.

But Obi, in an interview with one of our correspondents faulted the argument that the emergence of the PDP governors’ forum would affect the election of the chairman of the NGF.

He said, “The affairs of the PDP do not concern the NGF. The PDP has the right to have its chairman. Even the ACN (Action Congress of Nigeria) has its own forum. Even APGA has its own forum of Governors.

“We are not bothered about the PDP forum. Of course, the Chairman of the forum (NGF) has the right to re-contest in May.”

Besides Shema and Suswan, two Southern governors, Amaechi and the Abia Governor, Theodore Orji, were also said to be interested in the NGF chairmanship.

With the tipping of Shema by the 19 northern governors, the PDP might have succeeded in breaking the ranks of the opposition.

Prior to Monday’s meeting, 10 opposition governors, including the ones from the North, were reported to be rooting for Amaechi.

The governors, who were said to be backing Amaechi before Monday included Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto); Usman Dakingari (Kebbi);Sule Lamido (Jigawa); Musa Kwankwaso (Kano); Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara); Kashim Shetimma (Borno); Ibrahim Geidam (Yobe); Murtala Nyako (Adamawa); Ibrahim Dankwambo (Gombe); Babangida Aliyu (Niger); Andulfatah Ahmed (Kwara); Tanko Al-Almakura (Nasarawa); Idris Wada (Kogi); Babantunde Fashola (Lagos); Abimbola Ajimobi (Oyo); Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun); Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti); Rauf Aregbesola (Osun); Adams Oshiomhole (Edo); and Rochas Okorocha(Imo).

The northern governors among Amaechi supporters were said to have made a U-turn when the northern leaders intervened and argued that the South could not produce chairmen of the PDP Governors’ Forum and the NGF

Amaechi has had a running battle with Jonathan over the former’s rumoured Vice- Presidential ambition.

The frosty relationship between the two, it was gathered, deteriorated with the public spat between Amaechi and one of Jonathan’s closest associates, the Minister for Niger Delta Affairs, Godsday Orubebe.

Amaechi took on the administration when he accused the minister of failing the people of the Niger Delta with the failure to complete the East-West road.

Orubebe in return accused Amaechi of, among other things, failing to deliver on the mandate given to him by the Rivers people.

Meanwhile, Akpabio has said that the PDP Governors’ Forum was formed to stand as a check on the new alliance party, the All Progressives Party. The APC’s founders have said that the party would wrestle power from the PDP in 2015.

“We are of the opinion that we should take steps to set up structures to meet the emerging challenge of APC,” Akpabio told journalists after the maiden meeting of the forum in Abuja on Monday.

Sincere 9gerian: @Gbawe..,is clearly acting like a drowning man on this thread. Who can anyone reconcile the irreconcilable post below:

"People need to ask why GEJ's candidate , for PDP BOT chairman, was cast aside easily by a last minute entrant who is effectively the choice of the Governors and the Northerners in the Party who feel GEJ is a cheat and user who fails to keep to an agreement.
Has it not been enough time to resolve the "deadlock" and reconvene a BOT vote or is it that the President is afraid he will be disgraced again by a Party vehemently resistive to hishighly unpopular and scantily supported ambition? Put to the vote, it is obvious GEJ's candidate will lose if the BOT election is repeated 50 times"....By Gbawe (Feb 9)

"It shows your lack of character you are will to support all this dictatorial actions that is the only way the failed power-drunk dictator in Aso Rock could achieve his vehemently resisted agenda. From now on, I expect GEJ will not put a single thing to the democratic vote".....By Gbawe making reference to the fact that Aneni was elected by consensus as PDP BOT chairman today.

Who can anyone reconcile the above shameless contradictions? Only Gbawe can reconcile them.

This thread opened by stating: "exclusively reported by LEADERSHIP on Sunday, Chief Tony Anenih in the early hours of today was unanimously elected Board of Trustees (BoT) chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in a meeting of the party held at the Banquet hall of the presidential villa, Abuja"

The fact in the report was that the PDP BOT chairman was "unanimously elected"(the same thing as consensus), meaning everyone qualified to vote consented to his election. May be Gbawe was expecting INEC or Tinubu to conduct an election to determine who will chair the PDP BOT? What is dictatorial about a unanimous election in PDP?

@Gbawe..,my sincere advice, if you any iota of shame, admit you mis-fired and apologise.

@Gbawe..,recall I told you I'll bookmark the post above and reproduce it an appropriate time? I kept my promise.

Insecure9gerian, I really don't know how you can have one single friend or associate in the world when you are so devious, slimey and scheming. Who mentioned "Gbawe" on the first page ? Is it not you? Now I have responded to give my opinion. Unlike you I read situation well because I am not the emotional wreck you and others are. You are not even clever enough to see that what I wrote that you quote only validates my stand and confirm you to be a cretin

Has it not been enough time to resolve the "deadlock" and reconvene a BOT vote or is it that the President is afraid he will be disgraced again by a Party vehemently resistive to his highly unpopular and scantily supported ambition? Put to the vote, it is obvious GEJ's candidate will lose if the BOT election is repeated 50 times. That is the level of resistance GEJand his camp are now trying to smother with their ruse to buy time
This is why you are currently jobless. You simply do not understand life to be able to discern things. Had Anenih won democratically, I would be first to concede GEJ a master-strategist who has outwitted others. Rather, others were crudely taken out to give Anenih a clear "consensus" path. You are the biggest fool born if you think such openly bullying antics, that totally disenfranchises others, will not be resisted. Dumb mofo. It is cowards like you who will back a grown 28 year old man beating up a 6 year old girl same way you encourage GEJ to be bullying and dictatorial rather than simply test his popularity. The man is trying to foist himself on a Party that does not want him.. I am right insisting that dictatorial conduct and bullying remains the only option for your treacherous and highly unpopular messiah. Let us see how far such tactics will take him.

KokoBeware: Do you actually expect him as a serving president not to ensure his own man gets in as the BOT chairman in his very own party??... forget the fact that it is Anenih.... IF Anenih has lost you would have said GEJis very clueless and blah blah.. o noo wait you already said it when it looked as if he was going to loose.. as a leader you actually have to show strength sometimes...lets just be logical if his candidate cannot win within his party what does it say about himhuh
I don't know how people like you view things. "Consensus" win after others have been removed via hastily invoking a court order, pending for over a year, thus clearing the way completely so the President's choice is unchallenged when he could not win previously and democratically is now to be celebrated as "strategy"?

While I fully appreciate politics can be a battle, I expect Nigeria not to be regressed and disgraced in the process by a"sit-tight" attitude that encourages the despotic, undemocratic and dictatorial excesses Africa used to be known for. Because GEJ is desperate and sure even his own Party does not want him as their representative, he is trying to shut down democratic processes everywhere to simply deliver a coronation.

Personally I don't care he is doing this and actually expected it because I have always known him to be a callous character. What would be good is for folks like you who speak in defence of everything he is doing now to also accept whatever comes when the fightback begins against all these actions of GEJ simply taken to ensure others do not even have a democratic chance me and you, whatever our bias and leaning, should accept they must not be denied for the sake of peace and the growth of our nascent democracy.

It is important for folks to understand I am not asking anyone not to support all GEJ's desperate and dirty antics. I am just urging folks to be mature and pragmatic to understand that actions naturally have reactions in life. We should remember the actions that forced the reaction rather than cry over the reaction alone like children who enjoy looking for trouble yet are never ready to face the consequences of their incendiary actions.

HNosegbe: Well, two things are clear:

1. Jonathan clearly has ambitions for 2015. That explains his insistence on putting his own man in such a sensitive position.

2. When it comes to playing politics, this guy is clearly not a "retardeen".
This crude show cannot be interpreted to mean he is intelligent either. Just desperate. His 2011 showing was predicated on negotiation and getting folks on board. This one is just a desperate show of bullying others and denying them their fundamental rights which would make the playing field level. GEJ is simply trying to use force to create a situation where he is unchallenged knowing fully well anything else will spell defeat 100%.

We should all know the worlds history enough to note that this sort of antics, convincing many they cannot win against a rogue leaders ready to use the instruments of supreme office partisanly, is what forces equally determined characters underground .

GEJ 1
Nigeria 0.
Are we to gloat over the troubling knowledge that the president handpicked an unrepentant bandit and a super dead brain who once spilled undemocratic nonsense in support of OBJ's tenure elongation as the Board of Thieves chairman? Even with the magnitude of exploitation and oppression, some still see this news as a good thing! The folly of 200million mumu's!
My guy, everyone should note this thread so that no cry of "victim" is entertained when others do their worst as GEJ is inviting. Jonathan is openly shutting down every avenue of democracy and attempting to muzzle everyone. I said his candidate could not carry the day and lo and behold he had to win as "consensus" candidate after Court judgement that was not implemented for years was suddenly wheeled out to removes several folks up and down.

GEJ has cast the first stone. Let him and his supporters be prepared for whatever comes. What I would hate personally is for cowardly-natured individuals like insincere9igerians, who don't appreciate the concept of not " throwing blows if you can't take blows", come here crying tomorrow and proclaiming GEJ some innocent victims of "evil aboki" and all such garbage. GEJ, rather than lead, has chosen to use the instruments of his office to engage everyone, everywhere dictatorially. Whatever happens is par for the course and crybabies should note this before coming here to cry in future.

Mumus like insecure9gerian do not appreciate that there is a long way to go and GEJ showing his hand this early just gives others ample time to also perfect their own strategy knowing fully well they face a rogue Presidency willing to shut down the democratic avenues that presents the only way for others to have a chance to meritoriously compete .

@Insincere9gerian.

You are such a dumb mumu. Did you not notice this part at all you twisted olodo:

At the end of a late night meeting at the presidential villa, which stretched into the early hours of Tuesday, party leaders presented Mr. Anenih, a former Minister of Works, to journalists as having emerged BOT chair by consensus.
It shows your lack of character you are will to support all this dictatorial actions that is the only way the failed power-drunk dictator in Aso Rock could achieve his vehemently resisted agenda. From now on, I expect GEJ will not put a single thing to the democratic vote. You really are a repellent idiot in your personality-centred outlook which makes you condone anything however nauseating and regressive. Empower Ministers over governors, Akpabio new chairman of PDP governors forum, factions everywhere, divisions everywhere, bad blood everywhere, seven year single tenure plus a President touting first refusal thereby bypassing primaries he is sure to lose are all the desperate acts of a man who is losing the entire universe with his condemnable antics.

You are too foolish to note that this man is ready to destroy every structure and damage fundamental considerations to get his way. I laugh when I see you egging on your messiah's desperate, dictatorial and totally "do or die" antics as if the man has carried the day. All that this tells me is that you are simply a very excitable, childish individual and hero-worshipper.

Let me tell you this now. Don't play the victim when the fightback against GEJ comes. We all know he is not playing with boys scout and we are all witnessing his desperate and bullying antics live. It will be good if people like you don't start crying like babies when the fightback begin in any form since GEJ has throw down the gauntlet.

Nothing I hate more than people who go looking for trouble yet cry and whimper when they get it. Too many times we have seen you brainless dolts proclaiming GEJ the victim . Now everyone can see what he is doing. He has bypassed his job of leading Nigeria to focus on the dictatorial and bullying use of his office. You are supporting the ridiculous throwback antics of a man no longer willing to test his own popularity and thus showing lucidly to the world he is no democrat at all. He does not "give a damn" that the entire world will perceive him as the sort Africa no longer needs or deserve who is happy to pervert every process for selfish ends in proving again we have not gotten rid of the quintessential "sit-tight" despots Africa is famous for .

Unlike the simpleton you are, I don't make conclusions till the fat lady has sung. I will only say that you and your ilk should kindly leave the forum, rather than come here and cry as you normally do, when some start their approach of fighting fire with fire.

Good leadership skills, or the lack of it, has nothing to do with ethnicity. If you think about it, in 150-200 years we will probably be so mixed, Igbo, Ijaw, Yoruba et al may be meaningless tags. We simply have to embrace, as the rest of the world has done, the idea of looking individually at the history of those who wish to lead.

Pointless embracing sentiments to choose mediocre leaders and then going on to blame all manner of extraneous considerations for their poor showing when it was always very obvious, had we shunned sentiments and done our homework, that they were not good leaders to begin with.

Thank you. I can't understand why anyone would come here to say this is wrong. Are we to take our example from the hopeless and cowardly conduct of the FG? Should we all just agree to be prisoners in our communities, waiting to die, because of a compromised federal government too scared to ruffle any feathers? The antics of the GEJ-led federal government highlights what will always be seen when accidental leaders, promoted far above their station, commit themselves to remaining in an office they do not deserve in the first place rather than bravely doing what is best for the electorate. The FG says they know who sponsors of terror are yet we don't see them bringing anyone to book meaning they find it expedient to see Nigerians dying rather than do what is right.

Forgive Fashola for wanting to be a leader and rejecting the cowardly and impotent 'waiting-to-die' approach of the FG. Fashola is a leader of leaders and he knows that protecting Lagosians and assuring them they will not be sitting ducks is paramount to maintaining vigilance, unity and confidence while keeping despondency at bay.

Do not mind the dishonest OP not even sensible enough to refrain from this show of shame that leaves no one in doubt he enjoys deceiving himself. Ngige, for political reasons, is far behind many others in the APC at this point in time. That is the bottom line. Who will nominate Ngige to be APC President when he spoke like a PDP politician, while in the ACN, that the ruling Party must zone the chairmanship to the SE? That display of lack of principle/loyalty and commonsense are the sort that matter to sensible people who make decisions but not to the OP and other deluded clowns.

They would rather speak as if the APC is tribalistic, as OP and his cohorts are doing here, instead of recognising Ngige's own self-inflicted implosion that has put him behind many others. This is what some are about. They claim everyone one is against them because they hate them yet they come with no capacity to look at themselves.

Look at how they ungraciously tagged the ACN a Yoruba Party yet some of us implored them , for the sake of fairness, to honestly look at what really happened and give credit where due instead of following the vacuous hatred they always display every time. Ngige, Tinubu and Atiku were founding fathers of the ACN. Ngige and Atiku only saw the Party in terms of being a tool to gain office and they openly behaved as such. Tinubu saw much more and put in the hard work to make the Party what it became in the SW. Whose fault is it then that the Party was not developed into what it could be in the SE and the North? If Nigeria is not a land of bigotry would folks not conclude it is only Tinubus hard work and the indolence and lack of vision of others that made the ACN what it is in the SW and what it is not in other regions? What has ethnicity got to do with anything to justify calling the ACN a "Yoruba Party"? Some will not look at this fact when they open their mouth to shout "Yoruba/tribalist Party" because as I said earlier, they have no capacity for looking at themselves and their deficiencies. Everything is best explained automatically blaming others, calling them names unfairly and making false accusations. It is similar going on here.

Instead, you have been the one insulting anyone who doesn't agree with your method of moving Nigeria forward. Your above quoted post is a typical example.

And I cannot remember calling Tinubu "Tinubu". I only called out your bigotry and hypocrisy by reminding you that your Saint Tinubu is no different from Anenih, Udenwa, Adesina, Kalu, Fani Kayode, Ohakim, Audu Ogbe, Bode George, IBB, Tukur, OBj and co.

Thank you sir. You identify the most important key consideration we all need to bear in mind when Nigerians hollowly advocate the Rawlings approach. Which ethnic group will allow their son to be "persecuted" or killed all in the spirit of a better Nigeria? Let us face it. We do not have the maturity, political sophistication or unity others have.

To that end we must settle for a middle ground position, in a very divided nation of people mistrustful of each other, that will involve change predicated around using the best 'devils', from every ethnic group, moving us forwards till we gain the all-important sense of nationhood that made certain pivotal changes possible elsewhere, like in Ghana, but virtually impossible in Nigeria currently.

And you are another shameless liar and fraudster. Show now and here where I claimed Ikimi and Ogbeh have "repented" to conclusively prove your claim of hypocrisy. What I have consistently said is that it is insincere for cretin, lying twerps and unprincipled dolts like you to make the APC about the one or two Ikimis and Ogbehs, as if they will shape the ideology of the APC entirely, while you forget the many brilliant and independent-minded individuals who are APC members far more influential than the duo. It is in keeping with your nauseatingly deceitful nature that you keep saying APC = Ogbeh+Ikimi. Telling you this is not so does not equate to me saying Ikimi and Ogbeh have "repented".

You slyly make it about Ikimi and Ogbeh deceitfully when folks like us argue consistently that those two cannot dominate the others in the Party more sagacious than them and bringing Party structure. Buhari brings the CPC, Tinubu ACN, Shekarau ANPP and Okorocha a faction of the APGA. What do Ogbeh and Ikimi bring to now make them ideological 'supremos' of the Party? They may be useful but it is patently dishonest for anyone to claim they are the ideological backbone of the APC. Yet, in your usual simple-minded ways, that is your mission i.e fraudulently deceive others that the APC is now about Ikimi and Ogbeh. Your viewpoint is patronising and indicative of your dishonesty.

You yourself know your rudimentary spin is only fit for the consumption of a forum like this where many are too emotional to ever be rational or logical. Once again, I urge you and others to show where I have stated that Ikimi and Ogbeh have "repented" or simply accept you are a shameless liar. I have consistently argued here that Nigerian politicians are not saintly so it would be inane for me to be talking of "repentance". My consistent argument is that Ikimi and Ogbeh cannot bring any PDP antics to bear on a Party with men like Buhari as members. It is the Ikimis and Ogbehs who have to modulate their behaviour to suit the Party and not the other way round. The minute the Ogbehs and Ikimis move in ways others do not like is the minute those who have brought really valuable contributions, like Party structure, pull out.

This is where me and you are different. I may dislike your sneaky nature but I draw the line at claiming you said what you did not.

Look, you have your views and I have mine. Leave it at that. Feel free to be about doom and gloom but leaves other be if they don't share your hopelessness and sense of pessimism. If I am here in 2019 saying the same thing, how is that taking money away from you feeding your family? Your writing show that folks like you are ultimately about frivolity regardless of how you want to pretend otherwise. You write vacuously "unless we re-structure the country". Now show the forum you are not a timewaster by pointing out how that is to be done without political power. Is it today prominent Nigerians, without political powers, have been asking for the Country to be restructured? How successful have they been getting those with the political power to take them seriously and accede to their request? Is that not ultimate proof we need the right people in powerful political positions?

How will your populist yet ultimately hollow pontifications work in practice? Is it you who will "restructure" the Nation from your bedroom and without the political power to do so? Or do we restructure the Country through our political representatives we have chosen as the best of those who make themselves available while your ilk just talk and write everyone off? Grow up and stop mouthing inane things because it is fashionable. After all is said and done, a car still needs a steering wheel for direction. Abeg fashi if you have nothing practical or feasible to suggest.
PoliticsRe: Kalu, Ribadu, Others Form Political Group. by Gbawe: 1:50pm On Feb 24, 2013
olabukola: Dudu why are you against the group? When known pdp thieves joined APC you claimed they have repented/they felt that pdp was not standing on the idealogy it was formed. Now Kalu and your saint/former presedential candidate, Bode and other pdp thieves are teaming up to form a political party and you are singing a different song. Must it be your way to be right?. Don't burst nerve in your defence of these thieves if you are not one of them already. PDP,APC and the yet to be formed parties are the same. The earlier you get that into your skull the more happy you enjoy your life. Unless you have some kick back to gain from the group you choose to support.
Abeg show where I said the part in bold above. Rather, what you will find I have said many times here is that there are no saints in Nigerian politics. We have to manage our nation with the best of what we have, for now, to forge what we want. Saying they are all the same is just an unthinking misnomer that, if you and others thought about it, means you should not be here talking. If you believe they are all the same, then Nigerian is doomed and you don't need to be here telling us the same thing repeatedly.

That is why Musiwa gets a lot of mileage here. He believes "they are all the same" yet feels he can make a difference personally.

Others like me don't necessarily tout ourselves but we believe politicians exist who can make a difference and should be supported to do so.

People like you are simply the most tedious and most useless to Nigeria. You don't believe in anyone or anything yet will never offer yourself for service. All input is limited to boring others with the same doom and gloom message and suggesting everyone who is passionate about any Party/politician is gaining some financial remuneration from them. You have no passion for anything and wish to be pessimistic yet you hate that others are passionate and hopeful. Sad. Really sad because needless cynicism and apathy only breeds failure.
PoliticsRe: We Are Ready For Boko Haram —lagos State Government by Gbawe:
Maxymilliano: Very funny I must say, just like the government was ready for the bomb explosion at Miracle Sand Beach under Festac link bridge last week...

Act of terrorism is not what anybody wished for and if fortification of security checks at the state governor and his deputy entrance gates and chasing vagrants from under bridges is part of the 'proactive' measures taken, I can indeed see the level of readiness...
Why is it that bias makes you guys so blind to what is obvious? How do leaders talk worldwide in the face of challenges? How many do you know ask a Nation to pray for terrorist to turn a new leaf? How many grovel every time when toughness is required? Instead, real leaders will say "We will not negotiate with terrorist". "Miscreants will be brought to book wherever they hide". "Terrorist will never win". "We will not be cowered by evil". "We will fight fire with fire" (Isreal) Etc, etc.

Is it because GEJ sets such appalling standards,as an unfit and undeserving leader, some of us now feel it is okay to talk as Jonathan's style is the norm and the stance of Lagos, which is the right one in my opinion, is now "baiting"? GEJ has made Nigerians cowards in thinking !!! I am glad I spend substantial time out of Nigeria to appreciate how leaders talk and act worldwide. Cameron, for example, directly told the yobs, after the UK riot, we are coming to get you and there is no rock to hide under not even the massively abused umbrella of human rights !!!!

No one should make any mistakes about it. While the talk of Lagos may sound pugnacious, it is directly designed to send the message to Boko Haram that "we are not all cowered into inaction like the Weak President" who prefers to see no evil and hear no evil when he is actually surrounded by it. "We will not let you come here and slaughter Lagosians as you have been doing elsewhere" is the Message ....... and rightly so !!!!

I don't know how we have gotten to the point where we are now so divided, some can have a problem with the Lagos government trying to inspire confidence in Lagosians when the FG prefers to act like an impotent victim held prisoner by the 'mighty' terrorists. If Lagos fails so be it but sounding scared and intimidated should not be an option for Nations/States with real leaders in charge. Just look around to see what obtains worldwide before you unambitiously 'institutionalise' and legitimise GEJ's weak style.

Ibirogba said, “I will say categorically thatLagos is safe, Lagosians should not entertain any fear. We have done all we are supposed to do to ensure that we live safely. Lagosians should go about their normal duties without entertaining any fear.

“The idea of Boko Haram coming to attackLagos is nothing to scare anybody. This is a proactive government and Lagosians have confidence in their government.
