Asorock 1: Hello tzetzefly and everyone in the house, I just wanna thank you all for your contributions and to thank almighty God for my interview today at the US embassy Abuja, though it wasn't successful, but I think I gained a lot as to experience. Ok this is how my interview went:Sorry about that. .Many a CO place a high premium on previous travel experience although some do not.But The key to getting a US visa remains the same ie convince the CO that you intend to return to Nigeria after your visit, which you were not able to do in this case. Some of them are unable to trust you with a US visa, until you have actually visited a few countries and returned. The law says every applicant shall be deemed an intending immigrant until he/she is able to prove otherwise. So,you can see those CO'S have got a difficult job in deciphering who or not is a genuine visitor, and of course are not infallible. But you would do well to heed his advise to visit a few nations prior to re-appying .x |
euromoney: I'll only take you serious when you're posting from the state.but sitting down in that hot sun and typing with that Techno phone?mba oh.I no gree. That was hilarious |
engrksa: mr knowitall, u must have been suffering in Nigeria before travelling abroad. I wont why people get amazed with going abroad. Whole79: Hi Nairalanders, I have a son recently in the US. He's over one month old. I plan bringing him back to nigeria this month to take care of him here in nigeria and for him to be able to see his father. So I plan taking him back to america finally when he is one and for him to be able to start schooling there. My question now is, is it possible for me to apply for permanent residence with the status of my child as american citizen considering the fact that he cannot file for me at present until he turns 21. What is your take and advice ob this? Do I need to wait till he turns 21 or is there a way I can do this? Thank you for your honest answers.iA US citizen can only file an I-130 petition for his/her parents once he/she turns 21.There are no two ways about it.You would have to wait. |
GEJ is weak, inefficient, and corrupt. Its high the creek crook is tossed back to Otueke. |
I can understand you point..but keep in mind that humans have been migrating since the beginning of time....from africa to the middle east to asia.etc...so am sure Nigeria will be ok....
Having graduated with a degree in Chemical Eng from a Nigerian Uni,I ended up in the marketing dept of a bank. And when the opportunity to relocate to the US surfaced, some top notch bank officials advised against it,arguing that I was better off with my bank job, rather than relocate to the US,where they reckon immigrants are worse off.Of course I ignored them and made the move, and several years down the line,It turns out I made a fantasic decision. |
For the Mod's money,she is beautiful,but for mine,she is not. |
vozkini: Hello house, Greetings and happy sunday to you all.First, the US citizen will file a form I-130,Petition for an alien relative, with the USCIS.The siblings of a US CITIZEN fall under the Fourth Preference in the Family Preference Category, and Because Congress has set a limit on the number of relatives who can immigrate in a year, there is usually a waiting period before a visa number becomes available. Normally, siblings of a US CITIZEN have a waiting time of 10-15 years before a visa number becomes available. This waiting time is determined by 1.Your priority date ie The date a form I-130 was filed for that particular sibling. This holds his/her place in line for an immigrant visa 2.Your Prefence Category-Siblings of a US CITIZEN fall under the fourth preference category ,and the average waiting time is 10 years. 3.The Country your visa will be charged under Now, when a visa number becomes available(THE STATE DEPARTMENT controls visa numbers),the USCIS will forward your approved petition to the DEPARTMENT of State's National Visa Center, who will in turn contact you when your priority date is about to become current, and when to apply for a visa at a US consulate abroad. You may choose to visit the DOS'S site at www.travel.state.gov,and the USCIS'S site at www.uscis.gov |
Why? ? ? Because you said so ? ? ? ![]() Was your name listed in the first post of this thread ![]() If not!!! Vamoose!!!! This is an exclusive thread
The OP erroneously wrote "Enquires", as opposed to "Enquiries",and I did try to draw her attention to that. Now,is that incongruos? You ve portrayed yourself as indecorous so I would rather not altercate with you. |
@Op,Do you think you could correct the title of your thread? |
Xenophobic South Africans on the loose again.I detest that nation and its innumerable vices. |
Final straw for the decadent PDP,its increasingly tyrannical President, and its rogue governors. |
Yes Mr El Rufai doesnt even to help his daughters hunt for job because his 'aggregate loot' when he was BPE chairman and FCT minister can take care of the family indefinitely. |
fadinus: he's a corper currently serving in sokoto stateHe might need to take any academic documents he has along to the interview. But note that it is his ability to convince the Consular Officer that he intends to return to Nigeria after his visit that really counts. |
webstradamus: lol ... it's actually Hartsfield-JacksonOh,That was what I intended to write but inadvertently ended up interchanging the suffixes. |
FrontPageLawyer: also please contact person or organization in the US. I don't have a contact there, going strictly on vacation. made hotel reservation already. How do I feel that part? You could choose to fill in the name of the hotel |
FrontPageLawyer: Hi suxes2005 and all the gurus. please help me answer these questions. The visa is normally issued as B1/B2 ,so fill B1/B2 2.They are reffering to the name of the city and state you intend to visit. For example,Atlanta,Georgia.Baltimore,Maryland.Make sure you fill it in that order. 3.Its better to leave it blank since you are yet to make a reservation 4.Ditto 5.Fill Self-Employed 6.Fill what you generate on the average as monthly income. |
dream23: guys,i want to go to the states with my new wife....i have been there in 2010 nad london 2011...but my wife has no travel expreience....what can i do to boost her chances and what are the first things to do.thanks......and please my passport has one and a half years remaining....can i get a two year or fivve year vissa although my passport is left with one and a half yearThe Us embassy normally issue 2-years M visas, and you can still get it with that passport. You would just need to get a new passport when the current one expires, and travel with both. Now,what does your wife do? |
smithremmy: Good day Folks,To qualify for an F1 visa, you need to prove that you will return home after your studies, and of couuse, you need to have some good info about your intended course, the school ,and the city of its location.Co's normally center their questions around these areas, and your responses can make or mar you. |
fadinus: Hello Hous, pls what documents does one need tu present at the us embassy if going for a visit visa. My uncle needs my brother to come for visit. What does your brother do? |
ighoosagie: U can book delta airline, its direct 2 afield airport in Atlanta. I tink its abt $1kHartson Jacksfield Airport. |

For the clueless, shoeless, and brainless Dumbo, ther is no Nigeria to love, save or serve |
Hello mr temmy,mr soji and others that have ideal on this I and my wife we are planing to for our trip on first week june and my wife preegnacy we bee seven month then hope the airline would nt giv stres,I mean hope they disturb for to bburd there airline or what did u think we can go with to prove that she 7 month pregnancy thanks.........faith works wonders
All airlines make their rules and regulations regarding pregnant women, but it is usually in the last month of pregnancy(36 weeks)that women are usually prohibited from flying.Specifically, many airlines will require a doctors note, once you reach 27 weeks(third trimester),while most airlines would require a medical certificate once you reach 32 weeks.Although some restrict at seven months, the vast majority restrict around 36 weeks.x |
Funlady412: My interview is wednesday 22nd of may, these are the docs v got.Appointment leta from work, confirmation leta,2promotions leta, pay slips from dec to april, introduction, bank statement, invitation leta from my uncle wit his utility bill, land agreement paper no c of o.Want to ask if this reply is ok,why do u want to go to the US?To use my vacation to visit USA to boost my fashion biz,cos i also hv a fashion home. You dont neccesarily have to provide such a reply.Since you have an invitation letter from your uncle, you could say that you intend to visit your uncle and his family, and also for tourism purposes. That is a standard response. |
thelonestranger: I have looked at the application form and there is nowhere mentioned that you declare your assets. Will you then take your home ownership papers there for interview? You should take documents that may help butress your case along .The CO may ask for them or not,as they are usually pressed for time. The most important thing is to display a positive body language, and answer the questions convincingly. |
Negative. |
klas: Please clarify the bolded. I thought the applicant whose turn it is, goes to the available CO. A sort of random thing.yes, but if a particular CO has denied you previously,he/she cannot interview you next time you apply. You get interviewed by another CO.Its all in the spirit of fair play. |
vozkini: My brother had his interview today at usa embassy. The same mexicn chubby guy@window 3 denied him visa. I learnt he denies people visa anyhow. Without even looking at your ds-160 information or whtsoever. His interest in only on denying people visa at will. Bothe young and old. He even states that the policemen outside the embassy said that the guy is wicked and doesn't even has interest of giving visa to africans at heart. He was asked the following.Sorry about that,Trust me,the CO has to check out ones Ds 160 form before determining which questions are appropriate for a particular applicant. As a matter of fact, most of the info needed is in the form, but theres a reason for the interview.Sometimes, the CO plays a psychological game on you,and once you bungle it,its over.I think this applies to this Mexican guy and the Notorious Chinese lady.Actually, the State Department considers Nigeria a priority, and actually sends some of its best foreign officers to Nigeria,So,those guys at the post are very good. They do not need to ask loads of questions before adjudicating a case, and more often than not, they make correct decisions. But of course there are bad eggs in every organisation. He could choose to re apply if hes got strong ties. And as a rule no CO can interview you twice(having denied you previously),so he will have the chance to present his case to another CO. Better luck next time |
ogbonlowob: Wrong, this year's winners notification letter is slightly modified: For DV 2014, it registered 125,000 winners! That means they deviated from the norm this year. They must have some reasons for doing so. |
osram: pls how can sum1 seek for assylum..am interestd oYou can only apply for Assylum if you are being persecuted in your country because of your race, religion, membership of a social group,or political opinion. |
Amefrica: There will always be October's selection..KCC registers approx 105,000 selectees in a fiscal year. |
