Pdp has pressed the self-destruct button, and although Tinubu is a bit dictatorial,Nigeria would still be better off under an ACN government |
Raiders: whats so special about America? abi America na heaven? if everybody leave Nigeria, who go develop Nigeria...Does the people on this thread constitute everybody?Peeps on this thread hope they would be a part of the 3,500 that would eventually immigrate to the US iN THE next fiscal year, and you weigh in with an inconsequential comment? If you have been perpetually denied a US visa, that does not mean you should take it out on them. The US congress enacted the DV law in order to allow countries with low rates of immigration to the US ,send in more immigrants, and Nigeria has gotta be strongly represented.Although its quite pathetic that a particular representative is angling for the law to be abolished, arguing it provides an avenue for terrorists to immigrate here.Wishing all those who played the lottery gargatuan success. |
rcb34: yestadaday evening,I had a little trouble wit my fone,it feLl in2 water and the screen initial went blank,I was so scared because the screen was changed not too long ago,bt I am happy I dint loose the screen,it came bak ON and its working fine now,I was about updatin bt saw the update bin done,so I liked the update and went off to slip, my target @ that time was achieved by "simplest",mehn have bin so bizy lately, I only have time during the night to come read ur posts,@ simplest thumbz up, It gives me Joy to knw@rcb,I reckon you are a graduate? |
I had worked in a bank before deciding to make a switch to the US.Yes,my colleagues were astonished, but I stuck to my guns.Arrived in the US,worked with the DOC for a few years ,before making a sitch to IT where the pay is in six figures. My former colleagues in Nigeria who thought I was doing well in Nigeria and actually frowned at my relocation then, are still astonished ,even today,And now they do concur that I took a chance that was well worth it.To each his own.(I had an engineering degree in Nigeria, but worked as a marketer in a bank. The banks were consolidating then,so they just invited people with a 2:1,for an interview, and once you dusted the interview, you got employed) |
^^Great. |
I Hate 9ja: #Am a workaholic#....love usa coz hard work payz, standard level of security, good but xpensive educational system.,if u work hard....one can attain a high and quick height of acheivement,u attain ur set goalz....ur dreamz and hopez materialize....okan e a bale..u ve peace.u work as much as u want, when u become a usa univ. Grad. U earn as much as u can on ur choosed career, freestyle flexing and too much faaji,no one is jealouz abt ur achievement.....everyone mind his or her own bizness, world clazz road....after a long driving u dont feel pain and aches...lyk 9ja after series of galloping.....if u ve a good credit score...u ve a high chance to get a loan....to finance ur project be it house, bizness, schooling, car.etc, good health care system i.e ambulance arrival immediately, they dont go on strike like 9ja.....u feel loved by special people,no boko haram massacres,u taste d good lyf....Nepa no dey,u go forget 9ja for some time...u go get 6pack lyk adesoji and temmy. That is absolutely amazing. And,of course, having lived in the Baltimore-washington metropolitan area for several months,I concur. The Gap between the US and Nigeria is an astonishingly yawning gap.One sees students on f1 visas get married to an 'akata' before the expiration of their stay, and get a green card, all in a bid to avoid returning to Nigeria. |
dridowu: I think winning is good but "future" plan must b on ground. Abt 80% of winners dat i have cme across personally have achieved more dan wen dy are 9ja.Ditto for me. |
Some threads that appear on the frontpage recently do boggle the mind, really.Heck! |
bengreat: You're right but is there nothing we can do to make green pastures accessible to all?Your patriotism is 'contagious'. |
chucky234: Arik na big name dem carry like BA,but dem try pass BA for planes, those BA planes be like Sosolisso molue.I guess you are talking about the 747-400,they deploy on the LOS LHR route.I think BA wants to maximize profits, and thats why they consistently deploy those jets on that route. And considering that they fly the mordern 777s to some parts of Asia and North america, one wonders why they cant deploy them on thE LOS route. |
packaging: your source please ?! I don't doubt u bt jst wanna b very sure. Thanks !!!you can always find out at the State Departments website www.travel.state.gov |
ferdimako: 1,356,396 Nigerians entered for that lottery, imagine the ratio when only 6,000 could be selected.Trouble dey!And no country can be allocated more than 3,500 Diversity visas in a sigle year according to the State Department. The number of applicants from Nigeria has been rising geometrically, over the years. From about 600,000 a few years ago,to over a million now.It does appear that the more people see actual winners eventually move to the US,the more they are encouraged to play.Like the saying goes,if you dont buy the ticket, you cant win the lottery.Previously, some thought the DV lottery was a ruse, and are wont to play. And,even when they play, they never bother to check the results. Some are so oblivious about the process that they do not know when results are released, with some even reckoning that the US GOVERNMENT provides employment for winners. Its just mind-bogling.But on arriving in the US,they are shocked to dicover the US,as many might have to start from the scratch. But of course they do find their feet in due course. Its good to see that many Nigerians are getting enthusiastic about the DV program,as opposed to the apathy displayed, previously. Nigeria stands a lot to benefit economically,FROM having a fantastic number of Immigrants in the US |
Funlady412: I am not married though v got engaged, and v got some pix to back dat up,with my wedding invitation for august,v got a good job,got 2 plots of land, got about 2.3m.got a car.whats my chance with dat? |
Funlady412: I am not married though v got engaged,and v got some pix to back dat up,with my wedding invitation for august,v got a good job,got 2 plots of land,got about 2.3m.got a car.whats my chance with dat?Strong ties,good chance.But crucially,you have to answer the CO's question in a convincing manner.x |
I can see The excitement reaching fever pitch right here.He whom KCC computer selects....... |
shiba0147: Sir Gbenge, and I also taught that when some @ u.s sponsoring your trip, that the C.0 will take it that you are Not coming back to nigeriaOf course having a relative in the US could raise suspicions in the mind of the Co ,but you could counter that by proving your ties to Nigeria.A good job,a fat bank account, marriage, landed properties etc are generally considered strong ties. Now,which of these do you have? |
shiba0147: Pls my fellow nairalanders,I indicated that my sister in u.s is sponsoring my trip in ds-160 form, pls what is my chance of getting the visa as I indicated that she is the one sponsoring my trip, or should I indicate that I am the one paying for my trip, pls what is the chance of getiing the visa if she is sponsoring my trip and I am the one sponsoring myself as I am going for her graduation, pls urgent answer my interview comes this weekWhether or not your sister sponsors your trip or not,it is your ties to Nigeria that really do matter. The Consular Officer will look at your prospects in Nigeria and try to figure whether or not they look promising. Now,do you think you have any strong ties to Nigeria? |
Asorock 1: @Gbenga thanks so much, I so much appreciate, please what about the place of interview, do u think the ABUJA consulate will give me a better chance than Lagos? Not necessarily. All CO's are trained the same way.The most important thing is to convince the CO that you will return to Nigeria after your visit, not your choice of consulate. The Abuja Embassy doesnt necessarily offer an advantage over the Lagos Consulate. |
Asorock 1: @Gbenga thanks so much for the reply...I still have some more concerns like I said my salary is not being paid into the account directly by the company, is been paid by the accountant in the company directly to us then we can go pay into our respective account, I heard that the statement of account must show income from a verifiable source, do u think this is going to pose any problem? Again is the bank statement of acc usually checked by the CO?Ok,you will have to tell the CO what you have stated here.No panicking. The CO's more frequently than not do not have the time to check loads of documents, but one needs to take them along, because he might just demand to see yours.JYour monthly income is decent enough for a tourist. All the Co wanna know is whether or not you have assets that are valuable enough to make you return to your country. He doesnt need to check documents to verify that. All you need to do is to sound very convincing at the interview.Ask yourself,if tables were turned and you are the CO.,would you believe your own story? |
I Hate 9ja: i guess connecting md via newyork wld be cheap.....compared to almost $1500 of BA and delta airline......if it were my case as uncle adesoji adviced....wld connect peter pan bus to mdOk,if he looking to cut costs, then Delta might not be his best bet as They dont come cheap.I only flew with them when they were flying a new 777:Not flown with them since they changed to an Airbus though.Been flying BA since they offer a lower price:However,Delta offers an advantage as they allow two 30kg bags ,while BA allows two 23kg bags. |
I Hate 9ja: i guess connecting md via newyork wld be cheap.....compared to almost $1500 of BA and delta airline......if it were my case as uncle adesoji adviced....wld connect peter pan bus to mdYeah,Delta doesnt come cheap) |
xmelly4lov: If you are booking through emirate airline, you have to use a connecting flight, because You can't get direct to BWI, you connect from lagos to dubai, from dubai to New York, from NY To BWI or other connecting means. He could also fly Delta to Atlanta(about 11h 45mins),then connect to BWI(about 1h50mins).Less hassle compared to some other options.BA ALSO FLIES flies to BWI via Heathrow, but the wait time at Heathrow(from about 6:30am to 2:00pm) is rather long. However, the wait time for BA'S flight to DULLES,transiting through Terminal 5 is about 4 hours. |
Asorock 1: Hello everyone...I have been following this forum for quite sometime now, im new here, I must say u guys are doing a great job , keep it up...please I need a reply on this; You might need to present proof of current income, tax payments, property ownership or assets,if the CO deems it fit.Your chances increase if you have a good bank account,if you are married, and also if you have assets. These are ties that bind you to your country of residence. And,considering that you are married, and boast of a decent account, you ve got a decent chance.Prior travel experience might be a potential banana peel though:Some CO'S place a premium on this, while others do not. |
xmelly4lov: maryland is a very cool place you can get a job with better pay like $15/hr, depends on your skil borThats right! |
onye guy: Na so mikel obi, but try score gaol for Chelsea before getting married oh >:Lol,but that is scandalous.Mikel would be scandalized by that comment |
The story is currently trending on several blogs |
toksbaba2000: can Nigerian deportee from USA(Overstayed Visa) apply for Canada VisaHonestly, you have damaged your chances of securing a visa to countries in North America(US,CANADA,MEXICO),owing to your deportation.Even honest, credible Nigerians are viewed with suspicion by western countries, let alone a deportee.Your situation is extremely difficult. |
He is a no nonsense defender,an absolute rock at the back. But he will need to prove his mettle in the fiercely competitive league, hoping to be considered among the best.We shall have to wait and see. |
Specifically, what do you intend to do in the US?This question is germane .
Hello everyone, you guys are doing a great job here in nairaland and i must state that i have gained a lot getting useful information here. I intend to travel to th US during my annual leave.I work in the training and development dept in my organization and i am also involved in projects at work. Can i apply for a workshop, seminar or conference related to my job function?and besides i do not know what site to go to in search for this. I am a single mum and have travelled twice go the UK last year during my leave.I work in a reputable paratastal in Abuja,my salary 6 figures apart from my quarterly bonuses.please i need info ASAP . God bless every contributor in this forum. Thanks
|
shiba0147: My fellow nairalanders, pls I want to know which cloth to put on the day of my interview @ u.s.a embassy abuja ,I want to also know if I will surbmit all my documents to VO the day of my interview, pls I need an urgent answerShow up for the interview on an English dress. Its quite important. The Consular Officer may demand to see your documents or not.Its his/her prerogative. While documents are important, they do not necessarily sway the decision in ones favour. In fact,CO'S do not place a premium on them, considering they could be counterfeited.Crucially, the info in your Ds 160 form, and your actual performance at the interview determines whether you will be issued with a visa or not.So its vital you put up a terrific display at the interview,x |
Enthralling, nerve jangling, and an extremely difficult match for Nigeria, considering the tactical acumen, and superb Kenyan organisation. The Kenyans were under the crush for much of the 2nd half, but they weathered the storm well looking to catch Nigeria on the break.Nigerias tenacity did pay off in due course though.Second base! |
