With respect to the ongoing strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). It’s imperative to note that this strike is a blessing and at the same time not a blessing. It is not a blessing simply because of the fact that the educational system for Nigerian State and Federal Universities has been slowed down thus affecting school activities and putting the future of Nigerian students at risk.

Nevertheless, it’s also a blessing in disguise. WHY?, I would say being out of campus because of the strike is an opportunity for you as a student to go out and earn some cash into your bank account so that by the time school resumes, you will be smiling to the bank and feeling like a king. Even if you have some money in your bank account before the strike commenced, it is an opportunity to increase that cash as well. There’s this rumour I heard that Pastor T.B Joshua prophesied that the strike will continue till 2017, I don’t want to believe such, but as funny as it is, no one will be praying for it to last that long.


There are many jobs you can do in order for you to make money for yourself during this strike, some are already doing one job or the other and at the same time acquiring other skills to add to their list of skills. This is a sole proprietorship business to me because you get to sell yourself, satisfy the needs of people with your skill and generally add value. Everybody loves money, but nobody loves the germs that comes along with it! Yuck. 2. Light Switch

3. Computer Keyboard

The computer’s your friend (except when it freezes on you in the most pivotal moments of life) but its accompanying keyboard is a nemesis thriving with germs. In a study from a British consumer group in 2009, 33 computer keyboards were randomly sampled and out of these tested four were considered a health hazard. One was even discovered to have more bacteria than your average toilet. Forget the dog. Cell phones are a modern (wo)man’s best friend. New research from the United Kingdom show that mobile phones are a technological petri dish for tens and thousands of germs, mainly due to the heat that they generate as well as the bacteria it shares with your hands and face. Next time, consider an anti-microbial coating for your phone or frequent anti-bacterial wipe-downs. Or sterile rubber gloves every time you touch or use your phone, always disposing of them in a furnace immediately afterward.
5. Toilet

Though the toilet seat has been good to you on many a bad days, its porcelain white surface is party-host to all sorts of diseases and viruses. Statistics show that there are 295 bacteria for every square inch of the cold, smooth surface. Though that’s not as bad as the 3.2 million on the toilet bowl, it’s still not a place to rest your head on at night – or in the morning.
6. Shopping Cart

Sorry to be a killjoy, but surfing down the grocery aisle just got a lot less fun. Think of every possible bacteria-filled thing a person can touch – well, once they hit their local supermarket, those things can also be found on the handle of any shopping cart. 8. Bathtub

Sure, you’re all clean and spiffy, but what about your bathtub? The bathtub is home to many toxic bacterias that is often left unnoticed. That is, until someone in the family catches a staph infection, urinary tract infection, pneumonia, septicemia, or some form of a skin condition. Believe it or not, bacteria left lingering near the drain of a bathtub is worse than bacteria found in the toilet. By cleaning the bathtub with bathroom cleaner just once a week, you can minimize these unwanted germs (and illnesses) from you and your loved ones. Go on, give it a good rub-a-dub-dub.
9. Kitchen Sink

Its moist, micro-crevices make it harder to disinfect, so instead of wiping surfaces clean with a sponge, users are really just transferring bacteria from one place to another. An easy remedy is to microwave the sponge for 60 seconds–it improves the odor too!

I don't need to say much about underwear *dirty ones*. After putting on a boxer short for two days, you should expect it to carry dirt and germs, same goes to the women with panties. Former undisputed heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson claims he is “on the verge of dying” from ongoing drug and alcohol problems.
Tyson, 47, admitted he is a continual substance abuser but added he is hopeful of finally getting clean.
“I hope they can forgive me, I want to live a different life now”
“I want to live my sober life. I don’t want to die. I’m on the verge of dying, because I’m a vicious alcoholic,” Tyson said on ESPN’s “Friday Night Fights”.
“I’m a bad guy sometimes. I did a lot of bad things, I want to be forgiven.”
At the age of 20, in 1987, the American fighter held the record as the youngest boxer to win the WBC, WBA and IBF heavyweight titles.
But five years later Brooklyn-born Tyson was convicted of raping Desiree Washington and sentenced to six years in prison.
He returned to the ring but retired from the sport in 2006 and in 2007 was sentenced to 24 hours in jail and 360 hours of community service for drug possession and driving under the influence.
Tyson, who now works as a boxing promoter, added: “I hope they can forgive me. I want to change my life, I want to live a different life now.
“I haven’t drank or took drugs in six days, and for me that’s a miracle.
“I’ve been lying to everybody that thinks I was sober, but I’m not. This is my sixth day. I’m never going to use again.”

Real Madrid are in talks to try to sign Gareth Bale, coach Carlo Ancelotti has revealed, amid speculation that the Spaniards could be prepared to break the world transfer record for the highly rated winger.
“It is difficult to talk about Bale because he is not a Real Madrid player at present,” Ancelotti told a news conference in Los Angeles on Wednesday evening.

But he fuelled speculation by revealing that no deal had been signed yet.
Since then reports have emerged in Britain and Spainthat Real were prepared to go well beyond the £80 million ($122 million, 92 million euros) they paid Manchester United for Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009.
Spanish sports daily Marca claimed that Spurs have demanded a fee of £125 million for the player.

I just heard this Nigerian artiste Mr. Ukeje Okechukwu Edward, a.k.a Mr Raw, formerly known as ‘Nigga Raw has decided to change is stage name from 'Nigga' to 'Mr.' Raw, In a chat with Weekend Groove, role model of upcoming Hip Hop acts in Eastern Nigeria speaks on his absence, his music and why he changed his name from ‘Nigga Raw’ to ‘Mr. Raw’.
Here's what he said about his decision to change his stage name to what it is presently...
The change of name actually came about because on-air personalities could not say my name without driving another connotation to it. It was affecting information about me. Some foreign stations like MTV Base couldn’t play my music until I removed the word ‘Nigga’ from my name. I had to do it. But what actually gave me the push to change my name to Mr. Raw was when many people complained that they weren’t able to buy my songs online.

I had to search for my name online and I didn’t see it in one of the popular websites. But when I searched for one of my songs it popped up. I saw that they censored ‘Nigga’ and replaced it with five stars. So if you search for Nigga Raw you wouldn’t find it unless you searched for one of my songs. Nigerians outside the country buy songs online before they get the hard copy.

So I had to change the name. Then again, if you are going to foreign embassies to get a visa, the promoter is usually scared of telling them at the embassy that a ‘Nigga’ wants to go to their country.

But really, the ‘Nigga’ in my name wasn’t like the American Nigger. Mine is actually an acronym NIGA which means Nigerian Guy Anakpo Raw (Nigerian Guy who is called Raw). But how many people would you be explaining this to?
