Celebrities / Nollywood Actresses Who Converted To Islam Over Christian Husbands Scarcity! by gbolakpine(m): 2:56pm On Jul 12, 2014
Below is a list of top Nollywood stars who have converted to Islam over personal problem, marriage problems or lack of Christian suitors.

1) Vivian Metchie aka Fareedah
Her case is very unique. She was born to a Catholic father and a deeper life mother. She got married to a Redeemed Church member and now she has left Christianity over what she termed ‘Religious confusion’.
On why she converted to Islam, Fareedah said; “it is a personal decision. I understand the Koran more than the bible. All of a sudden, the Christian confusion was driving me nuts. My dad was catholic, my mum was Deeper Life, I married someone in the Redeemed Church and then all of a sudden, the few religions had something bad to say about each other. I just couldn’t take it anymore. A friend of mine who is close to me said that once you are grounded on the word, it wont be confusing. Unfortunately, maybe I wasn’t grounded in the word, but I still could see what I see. But in my quest and study and research, I don’t know: I was probably looking for peace. Yeah! That was what I was looking for and I found it in the Koran.”

2) Liz DaSilva now Aishat
Her case is very similar to Lizzy Anjorin, she dated Oshodi Boss, MC Oluomo for a while before eloping with younger Muslim guy. She claimed she change her religion for the sake of her son whom she named Roheem.
She got married to Olaoye last year and adopted the Muslim name Aishat.

3) Laide Bakare
After she broke up with her Christian husband over marital problem, she eloped with a Lagos-based wealthy Alhaji Tunde Orilowo aka ATM, she then converted to Islam.
Laide Bakare just like her contemporaries, embarked on the holy pilgrimage courtesy her man and has since remained a converted Muslim.
She has joined Alhaji Orilowo’s fleet of wives. As we speak, the man is on the run over a fraud case with EFCC.

4) Moji Olaiya
The latest on the conversion radar is Moji Olaiya.
She was born to a Christian father and mother. She is the son of veteran singer Victor Olaiya. Moji Olaiya reportedly dumped her three children with her husband and walked out of the marriage over what she called spousal abuse.
The actress said she found the religion quite peaceful, thus, her resolve to convert.
In her words, “Honestly, Islam is a peaceful religion. The aspect I love most is that you don’t need any pastor to get closer to God. You don’t really need anybody to pray for you. You can always pray on your own and Almighty Allah will answer your prayer without any intermediary. I have been doing that since I became a Muslim and it has always worked for me.”

5) Lizzy Anjorin now Aishat
The popular Yoruba actress and movie producer was born into a Christian family but she shocked her fans when she suddenly made a trip to Islamic holy land Mecca in Saudi Arabia for Hajj last year.
Quickly adopting the Islamic dress sense, Liz insists she has always been a Muslim all along but not known to many people who perceived her as a Christian even though she has nothing against been a Christian.
Prior to her conversion, she was rumoured to be dating an Alhaji introduced to her by MC Oluomo, NURTW boss in Oshodi, Lagos.
On why she chose Islam, Lizzy said “Actually, my conversion to Islam is not new, it’s only that people were not aware. I have been a Muslim for long. I even have a picture to support that. Although my name is Elizabeth, which is the Christian name my dad gave me because he was a Christian. Then, I also have a Muslim name, Aishat, given to me by my mother, who was a Muslim. Also, some from my mother’s family members also named me Sekinat. Even my daughter’s name is Rufaidat. So, I grew with the two religions. And being the only child of my parents, I was given so many names, including Egandogo, Omosolape, Akanke. My Badagry name is Yenukunmun, meaning Isoju ota ni nse maa se rere (I will excel in the presence of my enemies). In a nutshell, Islam has been in me for long. I only kept it to myself. It is my private life. Even during every Ramadan period, I give people food for fasting and also when they want to break the fast. I also fast. Not only that, I don’t normally expose my head during the period, but people don’t really read meanings to it, they always think my appearance has to do with a movie.”

Politics / Nigeria Comes Tops In Global Crude Theft by gbolakpine(m): 5:20pm On Jul 10, 2014
According to Oilprice.com, with as much as 400,000 barrels of crude oil stolen daily, Nigeria is ranked worse than Mexico, Iraq, Russia and Indonesia on the top five countries most plagued by oil theft.

The report put Nigeria’s losses to crude theft at $1.7 billion, about N272 billion per month, representing 7.7 percent of Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product, GDP. The report said: “This represents 7.7 percent of Nigeria’s GDP vanishing, or more than the country spends on education and healthcare.

“These numbers paint a harsh picture about the inability of the Nigerian government and the multinational oil companies in Niger Delta, to do anything about this rampant theft. “With oil theft hitting record levels in 2013, the G8 has been reminded of its 2000 pledge to help Nigeria solve this crippling problem.

“However, as the Global Financial Initiative points out, ‘stolen Nigerian crude oil is transported on internationally registered vessels, sold to international buyers, processed by international oil refineries and paid for using international bank accounts’.

“With one group of thieves admitting to profits of nearly $7,000 a day from their illicit activities, it will take some doing to stop them.” On Iraq, the report said there have been substantiated reports of complex networks taking thousands of barrels right from the refineries and selling them illegally to Iran and Syria.

Celebrities / Uti Nwachukwu Says The Problem With Nigerians Is We Complain Too Much by gbolakpine(m): 6:56pm On Jul 02, 2014
Actor/Model & TV Presenter Uti Nwachukwu voices his opinion about Nigerians and complaining habits...
See what he had to say below...

NIGERIA- PLS STOP COMPLAINING AND START APPRECIATING! GRATITUDE CANNOT BE OVER EMPHASIZED.
I think one major bane of the success of our country is SOCIAL MEDIA! Ironically this same tool has been used to develop so many countries including ours to an extent- but would you call it negative or positive …. (Search your heart and answer).

You see everything that is happening now has happened before and will happen again! Life is very spiritual and all answers are in the Bible on your coffee table. Before I start please don’t get me wrong o. I’m no saint. I’m a sinner like everyone else and thats why I love Jesus with a passion because he came for, died for and saved people like me not the perfect ones out there who have no sin. Now I speak.

The Major SPIRITUAL PROBLEM we have as a nation is COMPLAINING!! NAGGING!! BICKERING!!! I’m sorry to break the news to you but this country will NEVER GET BETTER until we STOP!!! Look at the bible, after the Israelites got delivered from Egypt and they were tested in the wilderness, what did they do? Complain!!! And what happened…you know the rest !! We keep praying for Nigeria to get better but the minute God sends a representative to us and allows us to go thru a test, the COMPLAINING starts!!! What spurred this Thot in my head. Super Eagles! This is a team we had all become ashamed of after the 90s God obviously sent us Keshi and some players to redeem our image.

After a lot of hard work and training we finally won the African Nations Cup! And we all sang praises (cue in deliverance from Egypt) Now we went to the World Cup and our first draw. The insults started!! We won the other game (cue in manna) the praises started again. We lost the fell out of the tournament! And then the curses started again. now Keshi has resigned! (Cue in calamities suffered by Israelites in the wilderness). Some are so ungrateful and even saying “Let him go Jor!” “Who is he?” “Is he our God?” Smh. Nope he is not our God.

But surely he was sent to lead and grow our team. God will not come down from his throne to help you! He uses people here on Earth!!! This is a huge setback for us especially at a time like this when we have little or no positive stories coming out from Nigeria. This was one thing that painted us good in the eyes of the world. Oh well… Que cera cera right? …..Nigeria…..we are in trouble if his ingratitude continues! I once told a friend of mine who was loosing his head that : To truly appreciate God is to appreciate his vessels. Nigeria. Watch it! This is a warning from God about our country!!! Have you ever wondered why the security crises lingers? Yes yes blame it on the leaders and flawed systems! Blame it on the terrorists, blame it on whoever and whatever! But hey. We are praying right? Joining hands right? So why is it still happening?… We have to be careful before God withdraws from this country!! GOD hates Pride and Ingratitude o! I’m not campaigning for anyone but I remember how we all prayed for a leader for democracy, we Got OBJ.

We abused and complained. Still God had mercy. We Got M.Yaradua. We talked and complained some more. Still more mercy..we got G.Jonathan! (Nobody forced you to vote! we came out in droves to truly vote! And we jubilated when he won!) Now immediately the challenges started ..ghen ghen Nigerians used social media to bicker! Complain Insult!….it didn’t stop…more crises to test us..we complained!!!

It just keeps getting worse meanwhile we are praying abi!!! Where is the praise? Where is the worship to God almighty? Where is the thanksgiving?! – did God say we won’t have challenges?? Even Jesus was tested right after he was elevated!!! Did he succumb??!!! My dear Nigerians it’s not too late o!!! It’s not at all!!

Let the GRATITUDE START NOW! Stop all negative talks and complaining! Pray for your Leaders! Support and Love them , PRAISE GOD IN EVERY SITUATION! STOP HYPOCRITICALLY ACCUSING And PUTTING EACH OTHER DOWN, IF WE DO NOT , THEN IM AFRAID GOD MIGHT JUST LEAD HIS PEOPLE OUT in HIs own way and then withdraw from the country. Let’s go back to God TRULY! With happiness, Joy, thanks giving and GRATITUDE.

DELETE COMPLAIN FROM OUR VOCABULARY OOO!! and let’s watch things turn around for out country! Like I said i am not a saint! Neither am I a prophet! And I know A LOT OF PEOPLE WILL START BY INSULTING ME AND ASKING ME IF ME SEF I NEVA COMPLAIN! Some might even Resort to calling me all sorts of names but weather you LIKE IT OR NOT YOU VOTED FOR ME IN 2010 and the streets went wild with jubilation when I won BBA ALLSTARS !

That clearly meant something!!just To Conclude, I’m just someone who is aware of How much God loves him and bathes him with favour grace mercy success good health peace of mind and other spiritual gifts which my close friends and family members are clearly aware of. Yes I loose it sometimes ( evident in some rants online) but yeh I’m not perfect and I never LET GO OF MY GRATITUDE. ….LET US ALL LEARN TRUE SPIRITUAL GRATITUDE TO WHAT GOD HAS DONE FOR US. GOD BLESS NIGERIA! WE SHALL RISE AGAIN LIKE THE PHOENIX IN EVERY SECTOR! STRONGER BETTER AND FULL OF LOVE AND APPRECIATION.

Politics / Bridge Collapses In Ndi Ebe Abam, Abia State by gbolakpine(m): 6:39pm On Jul 02, 2014
Popular Igwu bridge linking Ndi Ebe Abam to other towns collapsed yesterday July 1st when a 25 tons tipper carrying gravel plied on it.
Fortunately no life was lost but now the villagers say they have been cut off from other towns as a result of the collapsed bridge which served as the only motor-able road through which the indigenes used to connect with other towns.

They are appealing to the authorities concerned to help them rebuild the bridge in a modern form that will last longer than the former one which was made with irons and planks and maintained by the indigenes for many years. They also implored the government to help them construct the road which has been neglected for years.

Education / Youngest Ph.d Holder In Africa Shares His Experience by gbolakpine(m): 6:06pm On Jul 02, 2014
I wasn’t always first in school. These are the words of Africa’s youngest Ph.D holder, Olaoluwa Hallowed Oluwadara, a Nigerian. He graduated with a CGPA of 5.0 which has now surpassed the record set by Opeyemi Shodipe of Babcock University who at 25 had a doctorate with a CGPA of 4.98.

AT a time when the nation is plagued with all sorts of challenges, some youths seek to make the nation proud. One of such Nigerians is Olaoluwa Hallowed Oluwadara who at 24, is Doctor of Mathematics, with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 5, thus making him the youngest African with a doctorate degree.

To achieve this, he surpassed Opeyemi Shodipe of Babcock University who at 25 had a doctorate with a CGPA of 4.98.
The Ekiti State indigene born in Bangui, Central African Republic (CAR), who recently convoked from the University of Lagos, Akoka, as the Best Graduating PhD holder, has two first degrees in mathematics and physics which were run simultaneously and master’s degree in the same courses, also run simultaneously.

From missionary parents and the last of five children, Olaoluwa, in an interview with Vanguard Learning, shared how he achieved this feat amidst challenges and distractions.
Having been born and bred in a French- speaking country, how did you cope with academics in English language?

When I was in CAR, I was studying French in school but speaking English at home, so it was a smooth transition from French to English.

However, French-speaking countries have a more traditional and rigorous system of education, while the English system welcomes change and is more into modern mathematics which I like. The capacity to adapt matters a lot and if one works hard, adapting is not a problem.

Experience in PhD
It was challenging but very instructive. I learnt a lot about collaboration, mentoring, and the importance of God in one’s endeavours. There were times when I was discouraged and needed my supervisor, parents and colleagues to encourage me.
One of such instances was at the beginning of the programme. It seemed that all the topics had been researched and there is nothing left to do except the complicated ones beyond one’s ability. Also sometimes when you send your paper to international journals, they return it for one reason or the other. Though it does not mean you are not good enough, but they have their reasons. That can be very discouraging. Persistence kept me.

Distractions
There were distractions but not restricted to Nigeria. They are universal. Friends, male and female, can be distracting. Mainly females but I am a born again Christian and I believe that when it comes to relationships, it is best to wait for God’s time for a proper relationship which is marriage. They might not mean anything bad, but it can be distracting.
Good job offers also come that would make you slow down your work. Fortunately, I was sponsored by Deeper Life Bible Church under the approval of the overseer, Pastor William F. Kumuyi so there was no need to work.

Past performance
I used to read the textbooks of my elder ones, so that made me generally smarter than my peers, albeit, I was not always first in school but my performance improved greatly when I entered university at age 15 to study mathematics. I have two bachelors and master’s degrees and it took me three years to get my PhD.

The Future
I believe it would not take me long to attain professorship. I might add another doctorate degree, maybe in mathematical physics. I would also serve the house of God while working.

Guiding principle
According to the Bible, whatever your hand finds to do; do it with all thy might. That’s my motto. It keeps me going.
Advice: Never give up. Be focused, diligent, disciplined and have God at the center of all your endeavours. Olaoluwa Hallowed Oluwadara won University of Bangui’s All Time Best Student Award from the Department of Mathematics (B.Sc), Best B.Sc Student Award in Physics, 2007 and Best M.Sc Awards in Physics and Mathematics respectively in 2008. He currently is a Research Fellow of the Mathematical Analysis and Optimisation Research Group.

Foreign Affairs / China Bans Muslim Officials From Observing Ramadan by gbolakpine(m): 5:46pm On Jul 02, 2014
According to source, Several government departments in China’s far western region of Xinjiang have banned Muslim staff from fasting during the month of Ramadan.

One department website said that civil servants cannot “take part in fasting and other religious activities”.

The move comes amid tightened security in the region which has been hit by a growing number of violent attacks.

Authorities blame separatist Muslim Uighurs, but Uighur leaders deny they are behind the attacks.

Activists have accused Beijing of exaggerating the threat from Uighur separatists to justify a crackdown on the Uighurs’ religious and cultural freedoms.

State-administered Bozhou Radio and TV University said on its website that the fasting ban applied to party members, teachers and young people.

“We remind everyone that they are not permitted to observe a Ramadan fast,” it said.
Similarly a weather bureau in western Xinjiang was reported by the AFP news agency to have said on its website that the ban was “in accordance with instructions from higher authorities”.

The BBC’s Martin Patience in Beijing says that this is not the first time that China has restricted fasting in Xinjiang.

But our correspondent says that with Beijing blaming extremist Uighurs for growing violence, the ban is likely to be seen by many Muslims as an attack on their religion, further increasing tensions.

Among those imposing a ban are a commercial affairs department and a government hospital which got Muslim staff to sign a written pledge that they would not fast.
State-run newspapers have in addition been running editorials warning about the health dangers of fasting.

Many Uighurs say that the suppression of their cultural and religious freedoms is fueling the unrest in the region and attacks elsewhere in China.

Last month 13 assailants were killed in an attack on a police station in the restive province.

Celebrities / Charly Boy, Publicly Lashes Out At Governor Okorocha by gbolakpine(m): 12:34pm On Jun 28, 2014
Just yesterday during the Memorial Mass of the late legal icon and eminent Jurist, Justice Chukwudifu Oputa, at the Sacred Heart Cathedral Oguta, Imo State, Mr. Charles Oputa (aka Charley Boy) who is the eldest son daringly denied politicians, including Imo State Governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha from political speeches.

Reports said that Charley Boy who wore a sullen and agonizing look throughout the funeral mass, got up immediately the State Governor, Rochas Okorocha was called to make his speech and aggressively snatched the microphone from the Governor. That he almost fought the Governor for attempting to make his speech at the occasion. This happened shortly after the Secretary of the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim, who represented President Goodluck Jonathan, barely finished reciting the President’s condolence message.
The intervention of the presiding Priest and Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah, could not mitigate Charley boy's anger as he insisted that no politician would take advantage of his father’s burial to score “cheap political” goals.
Charley Boy had also, during a day of tribute organized by Imo State government recently, walked out on the Imo state Governor when he climbed the podium to make his speech. Consequently the visibly angry Okorocha, stormed out of the Church in the company of his Commissioners and security aides and was besieged at the gate by angry supporters, who berated Charley Boy for humiliating the Governor.
Meanwhile, the Imo State government has released a statement reacting to Charley boy's actions. Part of it reads:

It is highly regrettable that the son of the late Justice, Mr Charles Emeka Oputa, aka, Charley Boy threw caution to the wind and turned the church service into a political theater that saw him acting or playing out the script he drafted in Abuja with some Imo politicians who have remained cowed by the overwhelming popularity of Governor Rochas Okorocha.

The Imo State governor had worked together with Mr. Charley Boy both when the late Justice was sick, until the time he died and the preparation for the burial which also encouraged the state governor to make substantial financial input and also organised a special day of tribute for the late Justice at the expense of state government with Charley Boy also present with other members of the family.

This is why the sudden change of character by Charley boy at the church service, in which case he insisted that the Governor would not talk as protocol demanded could not be understood. Except he was acting out a script handed over to him by some of the gubernatorial aspirants from the state who might have been rattled by the thunderous ovation that greeted the Governor by the crowd when he was first introduced.

At a function like that, protocol demands that the state Governor should talk before any other speaker to welcome the invitees but Senator Anyim representing the President was first called to speak. Perhaps because of the Governor's Okorocha's popularity, the few politicians from the state in Abuja who are desperate to capture power in the state saw a willing tool in Charley boy for them to ensure the Governor will not speak.

We condemn that ugly incident and also wish to advise politicians from the state to stop heating up the polity over power since God is the giver of power. In 2015, God will decide who will be governor of Imo State and when God decides that, there is nothing anybody can do about it.

And for Charley boy, we ask God to bless him.

Signed Sam Onwuemedo

Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media

Sometimes I begin to wonder how great men of God and Allah have sex with their wives. Is it the same way as that of #P0rn movies or there are religious teachings or books educating them on sex positions as annointed Men and Women of God? I wonder if wives of Pastors give heads or they do the *d0Ggy* style during sex.
Am very sure nairalanders will know this...
The questions is, is/are there religious ways of having sex?
Family / Madwoman Delivers Baby Girl At Rubbish Dump by gbolakpine(m): 4:25pm On Jan 06, 2014
Mentally ill Woman - known for it street Madness in Mushin Local Government Area Lagos State, She slept on the road, ate from bins and went about in tatters For four years, she was known to wander the street of Badejo Kalesanwo, Oduduwa Community, in Mushin Local Government Area Lagos State.
Some months ago, people saw her with a protruding belly and dismissed it as fibroid growth.
However, on the morning of December 25, 2013 the unknown mad woman, identified as Amudatulai, a native of Ibadan in Oyo State, went into labour and self-delivered a baby girl as residents watched in awe.

Eyewitnesses said she immediately named the baby girl Mariam Olorundamilare Odunayo (Olorundamilare, means God has given me the victory, while Odunayo means, the year of Joy).
A resident, who identified herself simply as Mama Adoyo, said Amudatulai delivered the baby by the dump site situated along the newly-tarred road.

She said, “I have known her for a long time. She used to sit and sleep on that road. When we saw her protruding stomach, we didn’t know she was pregnant. We thought it was fibroid. But around 6am on Wednesday, she was crying and screaming my name and other people’s names in the area because we play with her a lot.

“I later moved close to her and when I saw it was labour pains, I asked her to let us go to the hospital, but she said no, insisting that she could see people bathing her baby, whereas she had not delivered by that time.

“I kept my eyes on her as she was screaming. Suddenly, the baby came out. We didn’t know on time, but a driver who was passing by called our attention that we should move closer to her because she had given birth.

“We had to quickly call a nurse who came to cut the placenta. The nurse later injected her and cleaned her up.”

Mama Adoyo said one of the community leaders donated money to assist in buying some materials, as other people in the neighbourhood trooped out with old and new clothes for the mother and child.

A female worker with the Lagos State Waste Management Authority, Mrs. Modupe Salami, who cleans the street, said that although Amudatulai still raved after the delivery of the baby, she was generally well behaved and could be rescued with a good medical help.

It was also learnt that a man who claimed to be a brother of the new mother had been calling some of the residents on the telephone to keep an eye on Amudatulai, adding that he would come to take her back to Ibadan.

The said brother was also said to have claimed that Amudatulai had three other children in Ibadan.

A community leader, Alhaji Babatunde Shittu, appealed for the intervention of relevant government agencies before an imposter took advantage of the situation.

Shittu said, “I must say that we all are concerned as to how she came about the pregnancy. We don’t even know where she came from since she came here four years ago. Government should take care of both the mother and the child. There is no way you can compare someone who is sane with someone who is not. Again, she is homeless and needs good accommodation. People are only guessing that her family members are coming. If this lady has good medical care, she will be normal.”

She was being sheltered along with her baby in a shop on the street. The dimly-lit wooden structure had a mattress and a mosquito net for the new baby. Excited residents gathered round the shelter to catch a glimpse of the baby and give her money.

When asked about how she felt about her new baby, and the attention she was getting...

She said, “I am so happy today. I know my portion is joy in this Lagos. And my joy will not end…” At this point, she began to rave and abuse a woman beside her, asking for papers to show ownership of an unidentified portion of land.

Crime / CRAZY! Meet The Man, 45, Addicted To Drinking PETROL (PICTURED) by gbolakpine(m): 2:18pm On Jan 03, 2014
45-year-old Brian Taylor has a bizzare addiction to petrol and has been caught severally at fuel stations attempting to get high on gasoline.

The strange behaviour got him banned by the court in 2005 after he was caught slashing fuel pumps so he could drink the liquid and inhale toxic fumes. After drinking the fuel Taylor was spotted dancing around garage forecourts high on the toxic fumes.

Consequences: Taylor has been warned he faces a return to jail if he puts ‘one foot wrong’ in future

The holes Taylor left in the fuel lines would mean the next driver to use the pump would end up covered in petrol.

He was jailed, and given an Asbo banning him from forecourts and having petrol in public, but has repeatedly breached the order.

Taylor, from Brotton, near Middlesbrough, was arrested again after being spotted at two petrol stations on the same day – a Morrisons and a Tesco outlet, both in Redcar, north Yorkshire.

Court papers show that he was found with an open container of petrol.
He was brought before magistrates in Teesside, where he admitted the offences and was given a suspended 16-week prison term and told to pay £120 in costs.

Taylor’s lawyer said that he accepted he had ‘taken the drips from the petrol pumps’, which she described as ”not a particularly sophisticated offence.’

The court heard that, although his history was an aggravating factor, Taylor’s life was ‘a lot more settled than it has been in recent years’ and he was attending appointments with the probation service.
Any word for this man

I Should have sent her birthday wishes earlier but i don't think it's too late to do that now. She celebrated her birthday with friends and family and has a woman, she decided to make her cake in form of a hand bag inspired by Louis Vuitton. She sure knows what she want. Just a pity that so called bag will be eaten up and passed out as a waste product. After all it is just a cake meant to be consumed by homo sapiens.

Religion / Guy Narrates His Funny Experience During Visit To Pastor Chris Okotie's Church by gbolakpine(m): 2:23am On Jan 01, 2014
It was written by Chris Kehinde Nwandu of CKNNigeria.com.
Hilarious!

When I decided to worship at Kris Okotie’s Household of God on Sunday 29th December 201, I knew I was going to have a lifetime experience. I have heard so much about my namesake and his exploit that I was so eager to visit his sanctuary today.

For those of you who do not know, Household of God is situated along Oregun road Ikeja Lagos.
Kris Okotie owns all the land and buildings on that street. His Church shares the same fence with Chris Oyakhilome’s Christ Embassy Headquarters.

Arriving Church was easy.. I made my way into the Church after the normal searching at the gate.

The first thing that will hit you, were the bouncers, whose chest were as huge as bags of cement, even the devil in his wisdom dare not make a move near that Church at this time.

The inside speaks of the taste of the man, sparkling, well decorated to taste.
Parked outside was not his new Rolls Royce but another Mercedes Benz Limousine with customized plate number.

As it is customary, my seat must be beside a fine babe. Kai, they were not in short supply at Household. Infact this Church has the highest concentration of fine babes that I have ever seen in any Church.
See shape - tall, short, dark, fair, half caste. See catwalk, see stepping, see mini skirts, see fine steps, see clean smooth skins. See nails.

I say come see cloth. Brazillian hair - no be that type wey all those Lagos babes dey do under Ikeja bridge.

It was like a competition.
Abeg if you no get designer clothes ,shoes, bags etc no come Household, because, dem go think say you be steward or waitress.

CKN at the entrance of Household Of God

After taking my seat, beside my lovely damsel, I quickly adjusted my lens and snapped some pictures while people were settling down.
Within minutes, a very huge guy that will make Hulk Horgan look like a baby wrestler walked up to me asking me to follow him.

My heart sank, wetin I do now? Who I offend? Who send me make I come Kris Okotie’s Church? Na today I go see wetin my eyes dey look for.
I asked my latest catch to kindly look after my seat while I followed the guy outside.

On getting there, I was shocked by what the Chief bouncer said.

”CKN ,we know you. We ve monitored you since you entered this Church. We don’t allow any camera work or taking of pictures in this Church or premises.. Please let me see the pictures you just snapped, because our CCTV camera caught you taking pictures”..

Who wan argue with this kind person? I opened my folder and showed him the singular picture on the folder.. He asked me to delete it..which i did..

His next words:

”As I said CKN ,we like your job and what you are doing, just relax and have a nice service with us at Household, God bless, you can go back in but no more pictures please”

I was relieved, from that moment. I just respected Kris Okotie and his security agents, these guys were not being paid for nothing.

On resuming my seat, my concentration now focused on the Service of songs which was being led by a lady.

It lasted for close to an hour before the man of the moment finally came in, got ushered in and surrounded by six huge bouncers, the type that will make Goodluck Jonathan's guys look like kindergartens.

He made straight for the pulpit. Three of the bouncers took their positions in front of the altar, just like you saw in that picture that was in circulation last week.

Okotie looks more like a pop star than a pastor. He has not changed one bit from what I saw of him about ten years ago. His jerry curled hair was shinning. He wore a golden colored Jacket with black patches over a black trouser. You will mistake him for one of those Hollywood actors.

Immediately he picked the mic, he went into solo songs. Okotie does not have a choir or back up singers. He is the Choir, Choir master and chorister all put in one. His is the only Church I have visited that does not have a choir.
He was moving from one song to another, for over one hour he didn’t stop.

I was forced to ask the babe beside me if it was a service or Song festival. She didn't even bother to answer me. All she was saying was give it to me, give it to me Pastor, I can feel it, give it to me as she sang along.

.Haaa, give it to you. give you what I asked..
She took a long look at me and continued in her frenzy, I say give it to me my pastor. Oti o.

This is another level. Since I didn't want to be left behind as Okotie was singing, I joined her in saying - Give it to us, give it to us pastor, give it to us oooooo. Biko give us, give her, give me too lalalalalala.

The lady suddenly stopped and pinched my hand .Keep quiet, you are not singing like someone that is in the spirit, she told me.

I asked her what she meant, after all I just wanted pastor Kris to give it to us and you are asking me to keep quiet.

Please give it to you us, infact kill us Pastor, I continued. By now she had kept quiet and was watching me.

The whole church was in a frenzy, estatic ,singing and dancing. All dance steps were on display - skelewu, konkon below, kukere. Name it! Even apala dance join. Ewooooo!

Some were jumping up and down like people possessed by spirit. Some were even running from one end of the auditorium to another.
The beautiful ones that occupied all the front rows, stood up and were dancing close to the altar, as if to say Man Of God, we are still available o.

But Kris Okotie must have been used to it because, he no even look their side. He was singing in languages that I never understood.
I even saw a popular actress among them.

After over an hour of singing, Okotie now prayed for two nations - Nigeria and Israel. (Why Israel, I don’t know) but I heard those were the two countries he prays for weekly.

After the prayer which lasted for about five minutes, he entered gear two. He kept on singing, singing, singing and singing.
Haba, which kain Church be this nah. No wonder all these people are trooping here. Tthey came to see Okotie perform every week, definitely not his preaching.

After he must have satisfied himself, he now settle down to speak on the birth of Jesus Chris and the three wisemen that came to visit Joseph and Mary.

It was easier to understand Patrick Obhiagbon and Wole Soyinka than listening to Kris. At a point I asked the babe beside me what Kris just said, she said she didn't know. I then asked how - how come you were shouting Praise the Lord.
She told me that I just have to accept what he is saying with open minds without questioning.

The average age at the Church was 40 years.
Kris Okotie has die-hard converts who from all indications are ready to do anything for him. he is to them a role model of a sort.

The babes are well polished. Not the type you see at most of these orthodox churches like Anglican and Roman Catholic.

Okotie went on to say- Love without Money is not complete.

According to him, shower a woman with money and see how she will cherish you for life. To him, love is not enough. It must be backed with money and big time gifts. According to him, that is why he buys the latest expensive cars.

When I asked the babe beside me who don dey already squeeze my hand whether she believe that, she said of course. I can’t go out with a guy that cannot take care of my needs. Who is not ready to change my car every other year.

With that I kuku gradually remove my hand, before the girl go collect my car key and I come take leg waka go house.
She asked me if anything was wrong I told her no, that I was just feeling dizzy and would need some fresh air outside.

To add to my stress, Kris Okotie now shared free birthday cakes for people born in different months of 2014 (yap 2014).
He only shared it among ladies; no single guy was allowed to pick a cake.

He also conducted quiz among us, he only allowed women to answer the quiz and each of them were given cakes and gifts.
Of the over 20 gifts Kris Okotie gave away today, no single man or guy was given any.
He said his gifts were ONLY for women.

At that point, I knew I had overstayed my welcome. I told the babe that I wanted to go and take some fresh air outside; from there I disappeared and drove off.
It’s obvious that Kris Okotie and his babes still have a lot in common.

If you need fine babes, go to Household..

If you need superlative Music, Kris Okotie will give you several doses, but if you need serious preaching, I doubt if Pastor Kris Okotie will be my first Church, maybe because of the big big grammar and effizy.

Celebrities / Actress Toyin Aimakhu Lashes Out At Another Actress On Twitter by gbolakpine(m): 11:27pm On Dec 30, 2013
One of top Nigerian Nollywood Actresses took to twitter to express her anger towards God knows who... According to her tweets, she sure looks angry. And she never stopped calling the unknown person 'Aunty Agbaya'

Base on my little analysis, i think she is directing this anger at a blogger who is older than she is, yet unmarried... Just observing!
Do you have any idea of whom she might be referring to as 'AUNTY AGBAYA' ?

Politics / Man Sentenced To 20 Lashes For Accusing His Wife Of Not Being A Virgin by gbolakpine(m): 10:59pm On Dec 30, 2013
A husband has been sentenced to 20 lashes after alleging his wife was not a virgin when they married.

He was accused of suggesting his bride was lying about her virginity during a public outburst in front of her father and other neighbourhood elders, according to a Saudi news website. The humiliated wife went to court to prove her honour and reputation, Al-Sharq Online reported.

A judge in the Saudi city of Mecca ordered the public flogging of the Yemeni man to be carried out in one session because he could not offer any evidence to refute the claims.
He says she had been married and divorced before marrying him.
As is common in conservative parts of the Arab world, he says the marriage contract stipulated she was a virgin at the time of their wedding.

Saudi Arabia has faced strong international condemnation over its use of corporal and capital punishment. Public beatings and executions are common place in the autocratic Kingdom.

Celebrities / Top 10 Entertainment Stories Of 2013 by gbolakpine(m): 2:42pm On Dec 30, 2013
A lot have happened in the Entertainment industry from the beginning of the year till date... Here is a compiled list of the top 10 stories that flooded the news this year ranging from the sudden yet sad death of Adebimpe Goldie Harvey, the breakthroughs of some Nigerian entertainers and many more. See the stories in full...

1. Goldie’s death
On Valentine’s Day, blogger, Linda Ikeji reported that flamboyant singer, Goldie, had died. Linda claimed to have gotten the news first hand from Goldie’s “best friend,” equally flamboyant, TV host, Derenle Edun. Nigerians were at first shocked that one so vibrant and young could go so suddenly but days later, more shocking news came in the form of the late singer’s husband, Andrew Harvey. Fans of Goldie were unaware that she was married. Prior to her death, the closest thing to a romantic relationship the public thought Goldie had was the one she supposedly shared with Prezzo, her Kenyan housemate from 2012’s Big Brother Africa.
2. Wizkid leaves EME and goes back again
In February, the blogs and social media went haywire with the news of Wizkid, EME’s star boy’s departure from the label. Up to that point, the successful afro-pop star seemed to have a healthy relationship with the Banky W helmed label, which also houses rapper/singer, Skales. While with the label, he had rubbed against big shoulders on the international music scene – Akon, Chris Brown, Tinie Tempah. Reports had it that trouble came with the expiration of Wizkid’s previous contract, which saw him taking 25 per cent of his earnings from shows and endorsements. After becoming an established star, the young crooner was now looking to take home 50 per cent. Despite some bloodletting on Twitter, and Wizkid launching his own label, Star Boy, the two parties finally managed to come to an amicable agreement that saw Wizzy return to EME.

3. Tuface Idibia’s wedding plus Senate President’s gift
In March, after twelve tumultuous on and off years together, music icon, Tuface Idibia, decided to finally make an honest woman of his long girlfriend and mother of one of his six children, Annie Idibia. The traditional and white weddings which took place in Annie’s home state, Akwa Ibom and Dubai, UAE were later trailed by controversy, thanks to the gifts that the couple “allegedly” received from politicians like Senate President, David Mark, and Akwa Ibom State governor, Godswill Akpabio.
4. Beverly Osu/Big Brother: The Chase scandal
Big Brother Africa, since its inception and introduction to cable TV audiences across Africa, has not been a particular favourite of Nigerians. Criticism for the show reached its peak this year following the antics of Nigeria’s favourite worst housemate so far, Beverly Osu. Her tall tales did not make her any friends among most Nigerian viewers; though it did ensure that she made history as the only housemate since the show’s inception that has never been up for eviction. Hatred for Beverly grew when the impressionable 21-year-old decided to have sex on camera with South Africa’s Angelo. On the internet/social media, she was called every name in the book that was created to depict a “fallen woman,” and Big Brother Africa was denounced as a pornographic show.
5. Don Jazzy and Wande Coal Twitter fight
Don Jazzy threw the first punch in this war of words on Twitter, which took place early November. The ace producer accused Wande Coal of not giving him credit for the latter’s single, Baby Face. Wande Coal, staggering under the unexpected punch, expressed disappointment in Don Jazzy for taking their private fight to a public place (Twitter) when the latter had all his contact information. There were more counterpunches culminating in an official statement from Mavin records announcing the departure of W Cizzy from the label. According to reports, the artiste, who now operates on his own Black Diamond label, had left Mavin quietly months before the Twitter fight.
6. Chocolate City sues Brymo
Of the entire record label versus artiste fight, the one between Chocolate City and Ara singer, Brymo, seemed the fiercest. After leaving Chocolate City before the expiration of his contract – a departure he announced on twitter – Brymo apparently inspired by his experience with the label, released his third album with a telling title, Merchants, Dealers and Slaves. The record label, outraged by the artiste’s audacity in releasing an album independently while still signed to it, unceremoniously took him to court. Brymo followed this with enraged messages directed at Chocolate City boss, Audu Maikori, via Twitter. He got support from his former label mate, Jesse Jags, who also left Chocolate City in a huff – although Jesse waited till his contract expired. Meanwhile, the court case rages on.
7. Glo dumps actors for musicians
Telecoms company, Globacam, known for promoting Nollywood by co-opting actors to be its brand ambassadors, in September, did an about face, dumping most of the actors on its roster for the more influential musicians.
8. Kanye West’s rants
With the release of his eight studio album, Yeezus, in June – and even before – self-described genius, Kanye West, decided to bless his fans and haters alike with his stream of consciousness rants. No platform was too grand or too inconspicuous for him. From radio shows, to Twitter, to the stage at his shows, Kim Kardashian’s boyfriend complained about everything and threw mud at friends and enemies alike. He lambasted Nike, the footwear company he once collaborated with to produce the Air Yeezy sneakers; compared himself to Steve Jobs and Michael Jackson; and called out President Barack Obama for playing it safe and turning on him. He also went on and on about how he and his girlfriend, Kim, were god’s gift to brand marketing students. When one of his rants was parodied by comedy talk show host, Jimmy Kimmel, West took to Twitter to deliver dirty punches on the comedian, attacking everything from Kimmel’s weight to his past relationship with fellow comedian, Sarah Silverman.
9. Miley’s Twerkgate
In a bid to throw out her squeaky clean Hannah Montana image, Miley Cyrus made 2013 her year of outrageous, over the top, trying too hard, sexy antics. Rihanna’s good-girl-gone bad actions since her break-up with Chris Brown seemed tame and tasteful in comparison to Miley’s. The peak of the Miley wild-out came at the MTV Video Music Awards, where dressed in plastic underwear, she twerked against Robin Thicke while he sang his hit song, Blurred Lines. The trashiness of Miley’s performance more than the actual dance move caused the singer a lot of ire from American viewers who deemed the award show, a family programme watched by impressionable kids. Not long after the twerking failed, the unrepentant 21-year-old broke up with her actor fiancé, Liam Hemsworth.
10. BON/IBAN ban on artistes
At an industry event early December, COSON Chairman, Tony Okoroji, read out a letter from the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria announcing the ban of the music of several top-flight Nigerian artistes from the airwaves. The artistes soon responded to the ban by coming together to demand formally that radio and TV stations pay them for the use of their music.

Crime / Syria, Iraq, Egypt - Most Deadly Nations For Journalists In 2013 by gbolakpine(m): 2:16pm On Dec 30, 2013
According to Premium times, Syria remained the most deadly place for journalists on the job in 2013, while Iraq and Egypt each saw a spike in fatal violence, the Committee to Protect Journalists found in a new report.

At least 70 journalists were killed for their work during the year, compared with 74 in 2012. The Middle East accounted for two-thirds of the deaths in 2013.

The long-standing conflict in Syria claimed the lives of at least 29 journalists in 2013. That brings the number of journalists killed covering the conflict to at least 63, including some who died over the border in Lebanon or Turkey. Yet the huge number of deaths in Syria does not tell the complete story of the danger there, given an unprecedented number of kidnappings. About 60 journalists were abducted at least briefly during the year, according to CPJ research, and about 30 are currently missing.
In Iraq, violence returned to levels not seen since 2011, with 10 journalists killed. Egypt experienced a dramatic increase in deaths in 2013, with six journalists killed for their work.
“The Middle East has become a killing field for journalists. While the number of journalists killed for their work has declined in some places, the civil war in Syria and a renewal of sectarian attacks in Iraq have taken an agonizing toll,” said CPJ Deputy Director Robert Mahoney. “The international community must prevail on all governments and armed groups to respect the civilian status of reporters and to prosecute the killers of journalists.”

Despite continuing dangers to journalists in Pakistan and Somalia, the number of confirmed work-related deaths in those countries declined in 2013 to five and four, respectively.
Brazil and Russia – host countries of next year’s World Cup and Olympics – saw three and two journalists killed, respectively.

Most journalists who die for their work are local people covering local stories, according to CPJ research. In 2013, nine out of 10 journalists killed were local, in line with the historical trend.

CPJ’s database of journalists killed for their work in 2013 includes capsule reports on each victim and a statistical analysis. CPJ also maintains a database of all journalists killed since 1992. The database is continually updated.

So if you are journalist wanting to get your stories in countries like these, you are advised to have a second thought to avoid problems for yourselves.

i was more than surprised when i saw this on the news with her tweet earlier today claiming she just returned from church.
I began to wonder, which church she attends and that, do porn actresses still hear the word of God?

Am not condemning her because of her personality but all the same, i believe the word of God being preached in whatever church she attends should have made her understand that the life she lives as a porn actress does not glorify God's existence.

Celebrities / 'I Am Not Ready For Marriage' - Flavour N'abania by gbolakpine(m): 3:11pm On Dec 28, 2013
Popular Nigerian highlife entertainer, Flavour N'abania, in a recent interview with vanguard revealed he wants to remain single until he achieve his aim in the music industry, meaning he is not ready for marriage.
With respect to marriage issue here is what he had to say during the interview...

We also heard you proposed to your girlfriend...
People will always talk and turn around stories. But I am still single because marriage is not my priority for now. I still want to hit the top before thinking about marriage. It’s not yet time. I am still concentrating on my music.

It was once rumoured that you were dating Tiwa Savage after doing a collaboration with her. Was it true?

I didn’t feel bad when I heard about the rumour because I know people will always talk even if we didn’t kiss. While shooting the music video, the director came to us and said, you guys are playing love scene, you need to do something intimate. He urged us do it, and I now looked at Tiwa and she gave me a go ahead and I said ‘yes’ we can do it. There was nothing wrong with that. More over, we did music with passion.

Celebrities / Fans Take A Swipe On Eldee As He Supports Gay Right! by gbolakpine(m): 7:13pm On Dec 26, 2013
Am surprised even some of Nigerian celebrities are now supporting gay rights... If you ask me i would say Gay marriage is another deceit from Hell! For crying out loud, God created Man and Woman to get married and increase. Why on earth will mere humans come out to change this law.

Don't say you were not told, the end is at hand. Some hours ago, One of Nigeria's entertainers Eldee posted on social media, twitter to support Gay marriage... Thank God for the ever understanding Nigerian fans who gave him a reply he deserves.
This is what he said via twitter and the replies...

In case you didn't see the image, he said "Hopefully, one day soon, Africa will realize that the #anti-gay sentiment is no different from racial or religious discrimination#RacialCreedSexualOrientation #Discrimination"
