Religion / Pastor: "Women See The Manhood Size Of Your Man Before Marriage" by gbolakpine(m): 11:54am On Aug 25, 2016
My Pastor Supports That Women Should Ask To See The Size Of Their Man’s Manhood

Jessica Opare Saforo who is a co-host of the most influential celebrity and lifestyle show in Ghana. She revealed that her pastor supports the idea of manhood viewing for couples before marriage which has caused controversies on social media.

This came after reports emerged last week that a Nigerian woman had filed for divorce one week after marriage because she couldn’t handle the size of his partner’s manhood. (Big D*ick)

Speaking about t issue, Jessica said…
“I remember being in church one day, when my pastor was preaching about things like this… What the pastor did say though is, ‘women should ask to see [the manhood].’ They have to look at it to be sure because you can look at the size to be sure is if it’s something you can live with.”
Jessica however agreed with her pastor’s position but couldn’t explain how the same principle could be applied to women.

“I agree if you are not even going to go the whole nine yards [pre-marital sex] but you should see [manhood].” Asked by co-host, Akosua Hanson how the same principle could be applied to women, Jessica simply brushed it aside.

Fresh Prince, who was on the show with the other members of 4×4 music group, however maintained that he believed the Nigerian woman in question should have been intimate (sexually) with her partner before the marriage.

“I think she should have ‘tasted’ that thing before marriage. I don’t believe when women say I don’t want to have sex before marriage.”
My take on this is that if my potential partner demands to view and assess my manhood, she must also be ready to let me assess her womanhood as well. No time for mistakes.

Crime / Man Arrested For Stealing ‘orijin Drink’ In Lagos by gbolakpine(m): 4:47pm On Aug 23, 2016
38-year-old Micheal Aniefie who happened to be a guard, was on Tuesday remanded in Kirikiri prison for allegedly stealing seven cans of drink valued at N700 in Lagos. although a crime is a crime but hey, Kirikiri for just N700? That’s too much.

The accused, who is a resident of Agege area of Lagos, is being arraigned at Ikeja magistrate court for stealing.

The offence is said to have contravened Section 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011

The Prosecutor, Insp. George Nwosu, told the court that the accused committed the offence on July 31 at Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos.

Celebrities / Man Dressed As A Female And Heels For Sexuality Talk With Church Leaders by gbolakpine(m): 9:08am On Aug 23, 2016
A red dress and stilettos were what a male gender trainer wore to a recent discussion on sexuality with church leaders.

Motsau Motsau was part of a panel of young theologians asked to present at a two-day workshop in Stellenbosch with Dutch Reformed Church leaders from around the country last week.

The course was titled: “SEX! – A Christian biblical ethical framework for sexuality”.

Motsau is a gender and Anglican process coordinator for Inclusive and Affirming Ministries.

Last year, the church voted in favour of acknowledging same-sex unions and granting the same privileges to all, regardless of sexual orientation.

Motsau felt the conversation with religious policy makers during the workshop was successful.

‘Gender is fluid’

“The point with the outfit was to make the understanding clear that gender is fluid,” he told News24 on Monday.

Motsau got the red dress from Stellenbosch University theology lecturer, Dr Nadia Marais.

It was not a problem walking in his stilettos – in fact, he could “even run a good distance in them”.

The attire apparently prompted one minister to reflect on why “we as white males” were uncomfortable seeing him in a dress. The question made Motsau feel he had got his message across.

“When we talk about same sex or same gender persons, we are not talking about the same people. There is a diversity and gender is not locked in or a binary of male or female, men or women,” he said.

Leaders had to keep this complexity in mind when thinking and reflecting about policies affecting these communities. They should also invite the relevant parties to a conversation if writing an ethical reflection on them, said Motsau.

‘Learn to listen’

Giving an example, he said: “It is no use sitting up there, making decisions that would affect my life and I didn’t contribute to that.”

Motsau made a link between speaking from queerness and blackness. He said it was hard to articulate a black-lived reality.

“If you cannot understand or reflect, rather learn to listen.”

Marais told News24 the course was organised as part of the continuous development of ministers, under the jurisdiction of the Communitas centre of the Theology Department at the university.

When the General Synod of the Dutch Reformed Church took a resolution last year, it apologised “to people who have been hurt and whose dignity has been affected due to any homophobic language, conduct or attitude from the side of the church”.

Politics / If Jonathan Had Continued, Nigeria Would Have Been For Sale By Now – Fr. Mbaka by gbolakpine(m): 2:05pm On Aug 22, 2016
Founder of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu-Nigeria, AMEN, Rev’d Fr. Ejike Mbaka, has said if the Jonathan-led administration had continued with the leadership of Nigeria, the country would have been put up for sale by now.

In a message he preached in his church recently, Mbaka said, “Had it been the last regime and administration continued, by now Nigeria would have been for sale.

“Who will buy?” he quizzed.

Speaking further, the controversial priest observed that President Buhari’s administration is devoid of ethnic or racial discrimination, noting that President Buhari is for everyone.

He said, “There is nothing like religious, racial discrimination in Buhari’s administration. He is a man for all.

“Buhari is a prayer answered. The bishops and Catholics in Nigeria prayed against bribery and corruption and this president came with war against corruption. “All the prayers we have been doing against corruption, God answered that prayer through a Muslim who decided not to discriminate,” Mbaka stated.

Education / Punchng Needs To Be Punched For Telling Lies About FUNAAB by gbolakpine(m): 11:51am On Aug 19, 2016
PUNCHng have successfully posted a false news about yesterday’s protest in The Federal University Of Agriculture Of Abeokuta (FUNAAB), they have painted us students in such a way that the social media have started seeing us as the guilty ones whereas, the entire management of the school and the armed forces of Abeokuta are the bad and corrupt ones.

PUNCH as well as those that fed them with fake news about yesterday’s protest have also successfully shown that they are gullible and stupid while searching for what to post about the protest. I am a proud student of the institution and was affected by actions of the management of the school and the Eleweran police division.

Am not gonna say much but i will try my best to shed more light to the quantum of lies posted by PUNCHng as well as the social media about the protest.

Read on…

While i witnessed the protest, several vehicles were not burnt, Funaabites are not the violent type, only the V.C’s church bus and a small car were burnt as far as i know and believe.

No student was cut with matchet during the protest, this was done by the armed robbers during the robbery attack at about 1:00am that morning… Instead, a student who was simply standing without posing any form of threat was shot by a policeman – Thank God he survived.

The PUNCH correspondent who saw no fewer than seven vehicles burnt should visit the eye clinic, this is a very big lie. Only tyres, some woods as well as the two vehicles as i stated in number 1 were burnt.

They even said “A police post at Osiele and another vehicle parked on the premises, as well as six other vehicles along the Abeokuta-Ibadan Road were set ablaze.” Funaabites have no business with Osiele, Students of the Osiele college of education also staged their own protest and everything done there were only done by the students of the college of education and not FUNAAB. It’s their territory!

The 100-level student of Forestry and Wildlife, identified as Taiwo Abisoye was shot at by the police and not hit by any tear gas canister.

The protest was a peaceful just as it was done in the first semester for the same reasons, but it all changed when the so-called riot policemen arrived and turned it to world war IV. Various news companies and some other blogs have been carrying fake news, painting us as bad children, not a single one of them approached my or any other affected funaabite to hear their own side of the story. I clap for them with a big hand.

We are not gonna stop until proper solution is provided, how much do we have as students that some thief of lazy group of foolish individuals will decide to visit us at night to forcefully collect them from our possession. We won’t wait until they start killing us one by one neither are we going to wait until they start raping our girls.

We will stand only for justice which must be served, whether the government and management likes it or not.

I rep FUNAAB

Politics / See How Soldiers Plucked Out The Eye Of One Road Safety Official by gbolakpine(m): 8:21am On Aug 16, 2016
Soldiers, according to Sahara reporters removed the eye of one official of the Federal Road Safety Corps, for confronting them for beating up a civilian in public. The victim who is now without an eye is also at risk of losing the other due to the severe beating by the military men.

The report reads…

An official of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Segun Enikuemehin, who dared to ask some military men who were assaulting a civilian to desist from such a dastardly act is currently at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) with one of his eyes totally damaged.

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon when Mr. Enikuemehin came upon the military men beating a harmless civilian. Convinced that the military officials would beat the man to death if nothing was done, he reportedly walked up the angry soldiers and pleaded that they let the man go or hand him over to the police if he had done something illegal.

The military men would not take such effrontery lightly as they descended on the Good Samaritan and started beating him as well.

But not even the beating from the soldiers would discourage him, and he managed amidst his own beating to rescue the already battered man, whom he then took to the Adekunle Police station at Ebute Metta.

Our sources say that thereafter, Mr. Enikuemehin led the police back to the venue of the incident. Upon sighting him in the company of the policemen, the soldiers, who were by that time already cooling off at a nearby beer parlor, became even enraged and descended on Mr. Enikuemehin, during which they eye was plucked out.

The damaged eye was reportedly picked from the ground and the man rushed down to the General Hospital. Rejected upon arrival by that hospital, the blinded man reportedly asked that he be taken to LUTH.

Meanwhile, the soldiers, upon realizing what they had done, were said to have taken to their heels but were overtaken by residents and handed over to the police.

The story got messier when a relative of the stabbed Federal Road Safety Officer went back to the police station only to find that the military men had already been released by the police. While still digesting that development, one of the accused soldiers walked into the station in the company of a senior officer who was identified as Captain Okoli.

Speaking to SaharaReporters, Mr. Enikuemehin’s Uncle, Prince Ojatunwse Oluwajoba, said the DPO of Adekunle Police Station informed him when he got there that the soldier who stabbed his nephew had been handed over to the military authorities. He said that soldier, who had been in civilian clothes when the incident happened, arrived at the police station with Captain Okoli to collect his identity card and other personal effects that had been taken from him at the station.

According to Mr. Oluwajobaa, doctors at LUTH are now saying his nephew’s left eye has been completely damaged and that the second eye might be affected as well if proper medical care is not given.

Politics / We Will Soon Invade Lagos To Free Our Members – Boko Haram by gbolakpine(m): 9:35am On Aug 15, 2016
Boko Haram have yesterday restated its conditions for releasing the Chibok girls and threatened to attack Lagos, Abuja and Borno state in a new video.

In reaction to this, the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) said it was investigating the video which showed some of the Chibok girls in the background.

The government also said it was in touch with the people purportedly behind the video, adding that it will do everything possible to rescue the girls.

The video showed some girls in Hijab behind an armed Boko Haram militant wearing a desert camouflage combat uniform, a bullet proof vest and covering his face with a turban.

The girls stood behind a black backdrop – 13 of them standing and the rest sitting – while the armed spokesperson demanded the release of some of the captured militants in return for the girls.

The insurgent also claimed that some of the girls died in air strikes by the Nigerian Air Force, while some others have been married off.

He threatened to rescue the captured Boko Haram members held in Lagos, Abuja and Maiduguri (Borno). ”I specially inform our people in captivity in Lagos that they should be patient and continue with their prayers, God will take us to where no one expects and we will rescue them.

“All those in Lagos, Maiduguri and other southern parts of the country; keep praying, very soon, we will rescue you,” he said.

The 11-minute footage came amid the decimation of the terrorist group’s capability to further cause large scale destruction. The military through its counter insurgency OperationLafiya Dole has also arrested many members of the group.

The sect member also said in the video: ”They should know that their children are still in our hands; there is a number of the girls, about 40 of them, they have been married, some of them have died as a result of aerial bombardment,”

The insurgent also interviewed one of the girls who gave her name as Maida Yakubu, who claimed that she was abducted from the Government Secondary School (GSS) in Chibok, Borno state. The girl who appeared defiant speaks in her native language in what appears to be an appeal to the government to rescue them.

Director of Defence Information Brig. Gen. Rabe Abubakar said the military was examining the video clip to verify its authenticity.

In a telephone conversation with our correspondent, he described the video as “media war and technology in action’

”We are studying and analysing the clip. We are studying the video clips to verify the authenticity and analysing the comments of the speakers in the video especially the terrorist member and the girl that spoke in mother tongue,” Gen. Abubakar said.

The Defence spokesperson also debunked allegations in the video that some of the kidnapped girls were hit by an airstrike. According to him, the air operations were done through precision attack on identified targets. and locations.

“However, the issue of air raid on the location of Chibok girls is just mere propaganda trying to insinuate the citizens against their professional military. We are using precision airstrike equipment which has the capacity of picking only the targets and engage them.

Moreso, they said the location of the girls is only known to them. ”It is extremely difficult and rare to hit innocent people during airstrike because the operation is done through precision attack on identified and registered targets and locations. The Precision Airstrike is very effective at taking out targeted enemies because it is not a random operation. We are nevertheless studying the video clips to examine if the victims died from other causes rather from the allegation of airstrike.

Spokesperson for the Air Force Group Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa said: “We are not talking now on the allegations, we will address the issues later.”

Politics / Nigerians Are Suffering Because Of Buhari’s Nepotism, Governor Fayose by gbolakpine(m): 7:58am On Aug 15, 2016
Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, in a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, on Sunday, hit out at President Buhari, insisting that Nigeria was experiencing the worst form of nepotism in the history of government in Nigeria

According to the statement, “The country is in the hands of wrong managers who do not know what to do and out of nepotism, not ready to be assisted by those who know.

“Presently, Nigerians are suffering, hungry and angry because the APC Federal Government has run the country aground.

“Nigeria has gone beyond recession, the economy has collapsed completely and painfully, those who should revive the economy do not have any clue as to what to do.

“Nepotism is the reason our President discarded competent people in his party that should be running the government with him and opted for his relatives, friends, in-laws and very close associates.

“The only qualification to hold key positions in the Presidency is to know a certain nephew of the President or be a member of his family, that’s is nepotism and what nepotism breeds is incompetence”, Fayose said.

Travel / Private Transporters Unite To Grow Industry by gbolakpine(m): 7:45am On Aug 15, 2016
Private transport company owners, under the aegis of Association of Private Transport Companies of Nigeria (APTCON), have called on stakeholders in the sector to tap into every potential the sector has to offer for its growth and development.

Speaking on Sunday, the Convener of the association, Dr Henrietta Onwuegbuzie expressed the readiness of its members to energize the sector with trillions in fresh investments that will help grow the nation’s GDP.

“It is our intention to fully mobilize and rally resources, both human and material, for the growth of the transport sector which has been identified by experts as capable of further propelling Nigeria’s GDP,” she said.

She added, “We are keen on building the capacity of our members to leverage new opportunities, improve their services and operate sustainably, especially as the nation’s economy faces very severe strains.”

Dr Onwuegbuzie noted that APTCON’s forum slated for Wednesday in Lagos will bring together all stakeholders and address current challenges facing operators in the industry with a view to aggregating solutions for profitability and sustainability.

APTCON, she said, was established to provide a platform for players within the industry to meet and discuss matters bordering on common interests, regulations and strategies on how to overcome operational challenges to ensure business sustainability and profitability for all stakeholders.

“It is expected that APTCON will also provide a forum for interstate passenger transport operators to speak with one voice especially as regards government regulations, bus fares and other issues affecting the sector,” she added

Health / Five Reasons You Should Sleep Naked by gbolakpine(m): 2:01pm On Aug 14, 2016
I found this post somewhere and decided to share with you since its what i practice and the below reasons are why you should try sleeping naked. Again it’s what i do with lots of benefits as you will see after reading and trying it out.

1. It encourages greater intimacy

Apart from making sleeping next to a loved one exciting, our naked body releases oxytocin, often referred to as the “love hormone.”

A 2009 study published by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Uppsala, Sweden, says “Oxytocin reduces blood pressure, cortisol levels and helps to reduce stress. This hormone does not only help relationship, but also your health!

2. It can keep you cool

One way to be cool during sleep is to abandon cloths.

3. It may help relieve insomnia

According to Dr. Cameron Van den Heuvel of University of South Australia’s Centre for Sleep Research, regulating sleep temperature may bring some relief to sufferers of insomnia.

“Studies of sleep onset insomniacs show that they consistently have a warmer core body temperature immediately before initiating sleep, when compared with normal healthy adults. This results in a state of heightened arousal that prevents them from falling asleep when they go to bed, probably because they have to wait for their bodies to lose the heat that’s keeping them awake. We’re only talking about a half to one degree but that small temperature change can result in significant differences in arousal between insomniacs and people without sleeping problems.”

The implication is that sleeping naked relieves insomia.

4. It can help relieve stress

Sleeping naked can relieve stress because it lowers cortisol levels. Cortisol is a hormone commonly referred to as the “stress hormone,” and when levels are chronically spiked, health problems can arise, such as a propensity towards high blood pressure, weight gain, and a compromised immune system.

5. It can make you look and feel young

During sleep a variety of growth hormones, as well as anti-aging hormones such as melatonin, are released. These hormones serve to keep us looking and feeling young. To encourage the optimal release of these growth hormones, we need to get those seven to eight hours of sleep.

Celebrities / Sean Tizzle: If A Woman Gives You Condom, Please Don’t Use It by gbolakpine(m): 8:52am On Aug 13, 2016
“Sho lee” crooner, Sean Tizzle, is no doubt one of the toasts of the Nigerian entertainment industry at the moment. From churning out hit singles one after the other, to performing at high-paying gigs, it is safe to say he has been there, and done that. His expensive taste in exquisite materials has also made him outstanding among his peers.

In this interview, Sean Tizzle speaks on the many controversies that have trailed his short career, including his alleged skin bleaching and his supposed hiatus from the music scene.

What is new about Sean Tizzle?

Basically, I’ve been working. I was in the United States for a couple of months; I had a ten city-tour that ended late March. I’ve also been working on other things like trying to hook up international collaborations with artistes like Tory Lanez and a couple of other international artistes, so that was why I’ve been out of the country for a while.

I was in the States with my producer working on my album which features Tory Lanez; watch out for it because it’s going to blow your mind. I’m actually trying to move to another level; maybe that was part of the reasons I’ve been away. Apart from working on my album, I’ve been giving back to the society. We have this NGO we are running where we provide chairs, desks and water for some communities, and it has been on for a while.

How did you come to choose music as a profession?

I studied theatre arts in school. I was supposed to study law because I used to talk a lot when I was growing up. You know when you are growing up and your parents notice that you have a particular characteristic, they will often link it to a profession and try to steer you in that direction. So, I was supposed to study law; I tried University of Lagos, but it didn’t work. I tried the University of Ibadan where I chose law as my first choice and political science as my second choice, and it still didn’t work, so I just decided to opt for theatre arts. Apart from singing, I can act as well. I did a movie last year titled ‘Astray’ and I got good comments from people.

What do you think people don’t know about Sean Tizzle?

I am somebody who tries to live my life the best way I can, and I’m a good cook as well, so no girl can threaten me with that because I can take care of myself in that area. I also like to clean. But I don’t have a favourite food; maybe that’s why I like food.

How has the journey been so far?

I’m forever grateful to God and everybody who has been supporting the brand despite the fact that the media is trying to kill me by saying negative things about me.
They posted a picture of me on the Internet and say all sorts of things, saying my picture was not real. Yes, I did some photoshopping on the pictures to make myself look good but the negative comments that I had bleached my skin really got to me. A whole lot of things happened, starting with Basketmouth and Sound Sultan’s issues, and nobody approached me to find out the truth about the issues if they were true or not. That is the reason I don’t want to do interviews anymore, because anytime you do interviews they say the wrong thing to generate buzz and because they want to generate buzz they just say the wrong thing and people won’t read the whole story but only the headline.

How is your relationship like with Basketmouth after the misunderstanding?

I’ve never met him and we’ve never spoken. But I follow him on Instagram; I see what he’s doing and I like his job.

About your album, how soon should we expect it?
I’m dropping my album this year, but before that, I’m going to be dropping the lead single featuring Tory Lynez, titled ‘Hit and Run,’ telling all the girls out there how much men should respect them.

How would you rate the Nigerian music industry generally?

Actually, we are doing well because there was a time when we used to have a limited number of radio stations. Now, we have many more radio stations in Nigeria. At one time, there were no clubs, but the rate at which clubs are currently springing up in Nigeria has really helped a lot of music artistes.
The music industry is growing, but we can still do better.

Any plan of owning a record label?

Yes, I have a record label called Tizzle Nation.

Have you signed any artiste?

None presently, but we are planning to bring in a female on board. Her name is Oyinsola but her stage name is Onisola, and she’s dope.

Why don’t you do collaborations with other artistes?

It’s not like people don’t come to me for ‘collabos’ but if I’m not satisfied with it, I don’t jump on it; even if they are known artistes. I’m not feeling like I know too much, but I want to set my standard. That’s why I don’t have so many friends, and that’s why you’ll barely find me in a club because I know where I’m coming from and I have a family.

Why are you still single?

Maybe I’ve not seen the right girl. Even if I’m in a relationship, I will still like to keep it on a low-key because immediately they know that someone is my girlfriend, that’s when different temptations will start arising.

What are the things you want in a woman?

Just love me as much as I love you, because that’s the major thing. I’m not trying to be a tyrant, but at the same time, she has to respect me and understand where I’m coming from.

What is marriage to you?

I can’t really say because I’m still single, but at the same time, I want to have a home. I want to have kids and build a family.

Do you support the idea of having baby mamas which is very rampant in the industry?

It has never happened to me before, but at the same time, I don’t want to preach abortion. However, we should learn to be careful about things. But if it happens, you need to ask yourself that between killing the baby and keeping the baby, which one is the best?
And the only reason you have a baby mama is because you don’t want to kill, so what I’m trying to say is that nobody planned that for themselves; even condoms are not hundred percent safe.

I was with a girl and she told me that females put holes in condoms just to hook guys and have babies with them. I was surprised, and that’s why they say when girls hand you condom, don’t use it. It’s better you have yours because some of them will punch holes in it and you won’t know because you are already in the mood. So, in such situation, what do you do? Would you just say she should go and kill the baby? No. But it’s good to get married and do it the right way.

How did you come about your stage name, Sean Tizzle?

I actually changed my real name Seun to Sean but Tizzle just came from nowhere. But when I was in a group, I was known as Sean Tye.

A 39-year-old woman, Kimberly Coggin, confessed to deriving pleasure only from having sex with animals.

Coggin confessed to having sex with more than one animal after police investigated the photos which people in her home of Calhoun County in Alabama shared on the social media.

A Criminal Investigator, Sheriff Greg Pollan, confirmed Coggin was arrested. He said despite her guilty plea, Coggin will not be jailed. Politics / How Jonathan Formed Niger Delta Avengers – RNDA by gbolakpine(m): 7:42am On Aug 11, 2016
According to SaharaReporters, Reformed Niger Delta Avengers revealed in a statement by its spokesperson, Cynthia Whyte saying that the former President Goodluck Jonathan founded the militant group Niger Delta Avengers in 2014 during the build-up to the presidential election.

The group said Jonathan founded the Avengers when leaders of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) refused to support his re-election.

RNDA disclosed that when MEND endorsed the then presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Muhammadu Buhari, Jonathan became infuriated and called a meeting and then conceived the idea of the Niger Delta Avengers.

The statement read in part, “The Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta, Mr. Kingsley Kuku, and Mr. Gordon Obuah, the Chief Security Officer to President Jonathan, respectively were selected to visit Charles Okah in Kuje prison.

“Mr. Daniel Alabrah was given the assignment to draft an endorsement statement for Charles Okah to go through and pass on to MEND. According to the account, both men reported back that they had visited Okah in Kuje prison at night with the promise of his release along with others should he cooperate to get MEND to endorse Jonathan.

“It therefore came as a shock when MEND did the opposite and endorsed Buhari. Jonathan was livid with anger and swore that the Okahs would rot in prison.”

Whyte also said an agreement was reached for ex-militants led by Government Ekpemupolo a.k.a. Tompolo and Kingsley Kuku to threaten war should the electorate vote in Buhari’s favour.

“It was around that period the idea of forming the Niger Delta Avengers was conceived. In fact, the name ‘Avengers’ came from the lips of Goodluck Jonathan.

“As Election Day approached, certain stakeholders were mobilised to form a force to standby and ensure total anarchy in the South-South and the South-East within 24 hours if the election results were not favourable to Jonathan. It took everyone by surprise to learn that Mr. Jonathan had conceded defeat even before the final results were released. The standby force that was supposed to attack specific targets was told to stand down. They were all compensated in US dollars cash.”

The group further alleged that the Avengers then decided that it would be used as a tool to make things difficult for the Buhari government by vandalising oil facilities and causing economic hardship.

“MEND was aware of this plot through a spy that could not be identified, and the group began its campaign to counter every effort of the NDA and the Biafran agitators to this day,” the group said.

However, Tompolo and Kuku, have in separate statements denied membership or involvement in the NDA.

A former Head of Media and Communications of the Presidential Amnesty Office (PAO), Alabrah who spoke with The Punch through telephone denied allegations linking him, Kuku and others with the formation of the Niger Delta Avengers.

“These allegations are very laughable. There was no time I wrote a letter to be endorsed by Charles Okah prior to the 2015 general elections. The way RNDA are going shows that the same people who run MEND are behind the RNDA.

“If Cynthia Whyte claims I wrote any letter, the group should produce a copy of the letter. I have never met Charles Okah, let alone writing an endorsement letter for him in prison. It has gotten to a point where they (RNDA) if they are actually splinter group of Avengers to unravel those behind NDA.

“Security forces should ask the new group who are the members of the Niger Delta Avengers. This blackmailing game against innocent people won’t work. They should name those who are members of the Avengers rather than blackmailing everybody.

“The only meeting I know which Kingsley Kuku attended with ex-militants was the peace meeting held in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. The outcome of that meeting was misquoted in the media until Governor Seriake Dickson who chaired the event made clarification to earlier reports.”

Celebrities / Time To Clear The Air (part 1) – Basket Mouth by gbolakpine(m): 3:33pm On Aug 09, 2016
Popular Nigerian Comedian, Bright Okpocha popularly known as Basket Mouth has begun the first phase of clearing the air on comments and talks about him on social media. He titled his instagram post ‘Time To Clear The Air (Part 1)’, and he is starting out with the political mumbo jumbo and the Buhari campaign saga. Please read his instagram post below…

“I usually try not to pay attention to comments from people that assume stuff or those who judge others based on perceptions. However I have also come to agree that when lies are said often enough, they begin to sound like truths. So I think it’s best I use this medium to clear the issue of “campaigns” and “support” now.
While many of my colleagues, friends and family members campaigned for the PDP, APC and various candidates during the last elections (and I cannot emphasize enough that it is their RIGHT to do so), I NEVER campaigned for BUHARI or ANY other politician.

ALL those saying that I did should do everything within their power to “THINK”. I know thinking can be a very difficult task for some but trust me, it can be a painless and enlightening process. THINK of when I ever “CAMPAIGNED” for BUHARI!!.. Indeed I personally HOPED that he would win the election and perhaps that was evident in my “body language” and I am happy he won. But I did not campaign for him.
Nigeria was in a bad place by the end of the last administration and it was only a matter of time before we would have suffered the plights of Brazil and Venezuela. Truth of the matter is that I would have voted ANYONE that could speak 2 words of English against GEJ and that’s strictly based on the amount of greed and selfishness we witnessed from members of his administration in the 6 years that he sat on the rock. They put us in this Septic tank we are in right now…..well, that and the oil price downfall amongst other things.
I have said it numerous times that I am not a politician hence I try not to dabble in politics. However I think a few people interpret crying out against injustice by the one as campaign for the other. When the Late FELA KUTI and BOB MARLEY cried out against the injustices in their days, were they being partisan? Of course not. They were just being HUMAN!”.

Politics / “we Are Being Persecuted,” Nigerian Witches And Wizards Cry Out by gbolakpine(m): 1:45pm On Aug 07, 2016
This was made known by Dr Okhue Iboi, the Publicity Secretary of Witches and Wizards Association of Nigeria (WITCAN), while speaking about the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Edo State, shortly after their meeting in Irrua, Edo State

His words: “It is unfortunate that many Nigerians are hypocrites. When they hear witches or read about witches, what comes to their mind is evil or darkness. For our own witches group, we are children of light. We are for good.
Have people forgotten that even in the Bible there is a story of King Saul who consulted a witch when he was about to go into a battle to enable him know how the battle will go?

Again people tend to forget that Nigeria is a secular state, Nigeria doesn’t belong to only Christians and Muslims, the nation is for all faiths. They should stop persecuting witches or look at us with disdain. As stakeholders they should allow us to make our own contributions to the growth and development of the country.

The forthcoming election in Edo State is going to be hotly contested between APC and PDP. We are holding an emergency meeting at Ofosu next Wednesday, and the person who is going to win the election will be revealed to us at that meeting.”…. we will communicate it to Nigerians via our Twitter handle….

Politics / I Can Never Return To PDP – Obasanjo Declares by gbolakpine(m): 8:55am On Aug 07, 2016
Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo has reiterated his last year exit from the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) to became an elder statesman, saying he left the party when it was still alive.

Obasanjo said having announced his exit from partisan politics publicly, it is unthinkable and preposterous for anybody to contemplate that he would reverse himself and returned to a comatose PDP

The ex – Chairman, Board of Trustee(BoT) of PDP made this known to reporters in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, on Saturday in a release, ostensibly to dismiss media report purportedly linking him with a meeting of the Convention Committee of his former party at the Shehu Musa Yar’ Ardua Centre, Abuja last Friday.

Obasanjo said whoever believes such false media report would certainly doubt the gender of his or her mother.

According to who was a two time elected President of Nigeria from 1999 – 2007, he attended farmers’ event at the Shehu Musa Yar’adua Centre organused by the Commodities Association Stakeholders on “Zero Hunger Nigeria” and not for any PDP event.

He noted that those behind the media report linking him with the PDP convention committee’s meeting were probably looking for ways to annoy and embarrass him, but assured that anybody hoping to drag him back to PDP for whatever reason would fail just “like any man serving a dead mice to a cat.”

“If I quit a party when it was alive and seemingly united, how could I go back to a now divided, factionalized party gasping for breath?”

“Those who know me, know that I have publicly announced my quitting partisan politics and those who will believe the purported story will believe anybody who tells him that his or her mother is not a woman.

The elder statesman explained that he had ordinarily attempted to ignore the media report, but felt compelled to clarify the situation due to plethora of phone calls he was still receiving from people who were confused about the said report.

“To clear the minds of doubting Thomases and those behind the orchestrated news in circulation and particularly those who had been calling to ascertain what actually happened at the Shehu Musa Yar’adua centre”.

“The meeting commenced but few minutes into the session, his attention was drawn to the presence of some people walking up to where he was seated. At closer glance, he recognized them to be politicians and they exchanged pleasantries, saying they came to greet him and they walked out again from the meeting”.

The release which was signed by Obasanjo’s media aide, Mr Kehinde Akinyemi, stated that “Obasanjo cracked jokes with members of his former party on which platform he was elected as civilian president in 1999 before he later became the Chairman, Board of Trustees (BOT) of same party, calling them ‘invaders and gate-crashers’.

“The programme ended and immediately he and his entourage headed back to Lagos. He was barely hours in Lagos when he started receiving calls from both far and near, wanting to find out about his presence at a political party programme in Abuja.

“The photo as well as the media report in circulation, which claimed that he was spotted at a political party event is therefore mischievous, as a responsible journalist ought to have gone further to ascertain his actual destination in among the number of venues at the centre.

“They simply took the photograph of his alighting from his vehicle to read another meaning. It is shocking also to note that the picture was actually taken while on his way out of the Centre after the programme he attended had ended.

“This is height of irresponsible journalism, which the former President is calling for its investigation and sanction on anybody involved in order to serve as deterrent to others who may want to be used either by omission or commission to misinform the public on such sensitive issue.”

Crime / I Joined My Friend To Molest His Girlfriend And I Slept With Her – Fake Officer by gbolakpine(m): 8:41am On Aug 07, 2016
“I didn’t know what came over me when I assisted my friend, Emeka, to hold his girlfriend’s hands while he was r*ping her in my room. After he finished, I also r*ped her. I didn’t know that my friend intended to molest his girlfriend when he said he was bringing her to my house and I gave him the key to my room”, this is the confession Emmanuel Nwamma, a fake Civil Defence personnel who was arrested by the Oyo State Police Command at Agbowo area of Ibadan.

Parading a 27-year-old suspect arrested in connection with several criminal offences including r*pe and armed robbery at Eleyele Police Command, Ibadan, the Police Commissioner, Leye Oyebade, said that “Nwamma (20 ) and another one still on the run, abducted their victim named Blessing (16) from her father’s residence at Ojokondo Street, Agbowo on July 6, 2016 around 1.45 pm and took her to Ajao Street, Agbowo Express, Ibadan where both men took turns to molest her.

“They threatened their victim with knife and scissors after which she was subdued before committing the criminal act. The arrest of the suspect followed a report made by the victim’s father after he was alerted by his daughter’s friend who was with her when she was forcibly taken away by the rapists.

“The suspect confessed to the crime and exhibits recovered from him are:
two pairs of NSCDC uniform, five mobile phones, one beret, a belt and other items. The identity card found on the suspect bears his photograph but a different name, Falade Elijah ”, the police boss said.

Confessing to the crime, Emmanuel Nwamma, said the victim was his friend’s girlfriend, adding that he gave his friend, Emeka, his house key when he told him that he was taking his girlfriend home. “I don’t even know that my friend has the intention to molest her, but I just saw myself assisting him to hold her hands and we both r*ped her together.

“I am not a real civil defence officer. I am just using it to scare people. The uniform belongs to my brother in law,” he said.

Blessing, on her part, denied knowing any of the suspects before the day she was r*ped.

According to her, “I was only in front of my father’s house when I saw the two men on a motor bike before they parked. They called me to come and show them a direction of a place they said they were going. I was forced to climb the motorcycle and they threatened me with a knife not to shout. I was taken to a house where both men took their turns to molest me,” she said.

The state Police boss warned all those with criminal intent, saying henceforth there is zero tolerance for crime in the state. Nwamma would be charged to court, as police is on the trail of his friend.

Politics / It’s Difficult To Fulfill All My Electoral Promises – President Buhari by gbolakpine(m): 8:32am On Aug 06, 2016
President Muhammadu Buhari has admitted that it is difficult to fulfill all his electoral promises.

He mentioned that the task before him was not an easy one.
The President, however, said that he would work hard with his team to bequeath to the country a new orientation in leadership that would be service-driven.

Buhari, who spoke on Friday at the graduation ceremony of Course 24 of the National Defence College, Abuja, where he was the Special Guest of Honour, explained that though it was not easy to fulfill all the electoral promises, he and members of his team were trusting in God that they would deliver through hard work and sound vision.

He said, “Let me assure you all that this administration is committed to bequeathing to this nation, a new orientation in leadership that will be service-driven and committed to the realisation of its promises to the electorates.

“We are however not under any illusion that this task is an easy one.

“But we have put our trust in God knowing that with hard work and sound vision, we will triumph.”

Buhari expressed delight that in the last one year, through the hard work, dedication and sacrifices made by members of the nation’s armed forces and security services, the nation had been able to degrade the capacity of Boko Haram insurgents to wreck havoc.

On the incessant clashes between herdsmen and farmers, the President said his administration would not condone any act of criminality.

He said he had therefore directed security agencies to deal decisively with the situation.

The President said, “On the herdsmen/farmers clashes, I wish to state that this administration will not tolerate or condone acts of banditry and criminality, under any guise.

“As such, our security agencies have been mandated to deal with such acts decisively.

“Let me state that this administration has been working assiduously in conjunction with our local and international partners, to rebuild damaged communities in North-East part of our country.

“Similarly, we are committed to tackling the issues of underdevelopment and neglect in the Niger Delta area.

“This is a priority we have set before us and we intend to make appreciable gains in correcting the ills of the past in the Niger Delta by assuaging inherent grievances,” he said.

For the Nigerian graduating participants, Buhari said he expected that they would all have made the most of their time on the course and be ready to join the ongoing process to change Nigeria for the better.

He stated that Nigeria had made tremendous progress in the last one year towards taking its rightful position in the comity of nations.

The President promised to continue to build on the progress in the coming years so as to ensure that Nigeria maintains the enviable heights it had achieved thus far, adding that it is a task that all Nigerians must resolve to do.

He said, “International confidence in our country and its future is beginning to return because of how we are slowly finding ways to solve our problems.

“The nation is beginning to have faith in the ability of our society’s institutional capacity to tackle our problems. But we must work doubly hard to restore our nation to higher glory.

“The Nigerian Armed Forces have proven to be equal to the task of maintaining our internal and external security.”

The President recalled that at the inception of his administration, he outlined certain core areas of national life that require immediate intervention, which are to secure the country, improve the economy and fight corruption.

He said corruption and poverty remained the country’s main problems.

Through his anti-corruption war, he said billions of naira had been recovered from indicted companies and individuals.

The President added that the nation had saved more money through the implementation of the Treasury Single Account.

Buhari said, “To tap the nation’s vast opportunities, Nigeria needs a philosophy of transparency and accountability in governance.

“The other core areas that we need to improve are the rule of law and moral standards in government and in society in order to provide a good foundation for good governance so that our gains are not dissipated by corruption.

“Good governance must be based on a sound moral foundation, a philosophy of transparency, accountability and an ethic of effective implementation.

“Already, our unrelenting fight against criminality and corruption in governance is a clear testament that we intend to address these problems.”

In his welcome address, the college’s Commandant, Rear Admiral Samuel Alade, told the graduating participants that a lot had changed in the polity while they were in the college since September last year.

Alade therefore urged them to quickly embrace the change mantra as exemplified by Buhari.

While saying the concept of change had permeated throughout the entire country, he urged the participants to contribute to its sustenance.

He sought the Federal Government’s support towards the completion of the college’s permanent site.

Alade disclosed that the college had trained a total of 2001 participants since its inception, including international military officers.

As part of its regional and international assignments, he said the Economic Community of West African States recently tasked the college to research into incessant herdsmen and farmers’ clash in the region and proffer solutions before it gets out of hand.

He said Course 24 had 130 participants, including seven officers from outside the country, adding they had the privilege, for the first time in the history of NDC, of making a presentation to Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo.

He said all the participants who started the course on September 6, 2015 had been adequately trained and are expected to add value to the society in their various capacities.

Alade added that more foreign countries are now showing interest in the NDC with 13 countries already showing interest in Course 25 which will start soon.

A breakdown of the 140 graduating participants showed that the Nigerian Army contributed 55 participants; Nigeria Navy, 40; Nigerian Air Force, 12; Nigeria Police, five; Nigerian Immigration Service, one; National Intelligence Agency, one; and NDC, one.

Others are Department of Intelligence Agency, one; Department of State Service, one; Federal Road Safety Corps, one; Nigerian Prisons Service, one; Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, one; Ministry of Defence, one; Ministry of Foreign Affairs, one; and international participants, seven.

Dignitaries who attended the event included the Emir of Kano, Muhammed Sanusi II; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; former military Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar (retd.); service chiefs, members of the Federal Executive Council and others.

Meanwhile, the presidential candidate of the KOWA Party in the last general elections, Prof. Oluremi Sonaiya, and an elder statesman and governor of old Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Musa, on Friday reacted to Buhari’s admission that he is finding it difficult to fulfill all his electoral promises.

They said Buhari ought to have vividly studied the true situation of the country before he offered himself to serve.

According to Sonaiya, Buhari’s admission indicated he did not have the true picture of the situation on ground before the last general election.

She said the effects of inadequate study of the situation before Buhari became the President were manifesting in non-payment of workers’ salaries for many months and economic crisis in the country.

Sonaiya said, “One should not make electoral promises without getting the full picture of the situation on ground. But of course, that is past now. There are some promises one should not have made. Buhari promised change and I believe that many Nigerians are still waiting to see the change that the President promised.

“I was expecting a radical change, but unfortunately I still have the feeling that Nigerians are continuing mostly with business as usual.

“There are lots of talks about corruption and people are being arrested for whatever role they might have played in the embezzlement of public fund, but it is disheartening that we have not seen conviction so far. So, how long is this going to take before we see somebody convicted and sent to prison for corruption?”

She therefore urged the President to be transparent.

Sonaiya said, “There should be transparency in his government. How much money is being recovered from suspected looters? What is difficult in letting Nigerians know? Otherwise, they will think somebody stole N1bn and N200m is recovered from him and Nigerians will want to know what happens to the rest of the money.”

Balarabe Musa asked Nigerians not to doubt Buhari’s admission and described it as unfortunate.

Musa said, “If it is true that he says he finds it difficult to fulfill all the electoral promises, then, it means he has admitted that the task is daunting, we should not doubt what he said.

“The onus is on him to call for the government of national unity headed by the All Progressives Congress and involve the remaining political party according to their relevance.”

It will be recalled that in February 2015, prior to his election, Buhari had, at the Chatham House in London, the United Kingdom, made a wide range of promises to Nigerians.

He promised that his administration would be tough on terrorism by initiating a comprehensive economic development plan which promotes infrastructural development, job creation, agriculture and industrialisation in the affected areas.

Buhari had said, “We will always act on time and not allow problems to irresponsibly fester, and I, Muhammadu Buhari, will always lead from the front and return Nigeria to its leadership role in regional and international efforts to combat terrorism.”

In the face of dwindling oil revenue, he also said he would reposition the economy by tackling waste and corruption.

He had said, “And in doing this, I will, if elected, lead the way, with the force of personal example. On corruption, there will be no confusion as to where I stand. Corruption will have no place and the corrupt will not be appointed into my administration.

“I’m running for President to lead Nigeria to prosperity and not adversity. In reforming the economy, we will use proceeds recovered from corruption to fund our party’s social investments programmes in education, health, and safety nets such as free school meals for children, emergency public works for unemployed youth and pensions for the elderly.

“As a progressive party, we must reform our political economy to unleash the pent-up ingenuity and productivity of the Nigerian people thus freeing them from the curse of poverty.

“We will run a private sector-led economy, but maintain an active role for government through strong regulatory oversight and deliberate interventions and incentives to diversify the base of our economy, strengthen productive sectors, improve the productive capacities of our people and create jobs for our teeming youths.

“In short, we will run a functional economy driven by a worldview that sees growth not as an end by itself, but as a tool to create a society that works for all, rich and poor alike.”

The APC, the party on which platform Buhari was elected President, also promised in its manifestoes to bring permanent peace and solution to the Niger Delta and other conflict prone areas, initiate policies to ensure the removal of state of origin, tribe, ethnic and religious affiliations and replace them with state of residence.

Also, the party said it would guarantee a minimum price for selected crops and facilitate storage of agricultural products as and when necessary, while creating a food inspectorate division nationwide with a view to improving nutrition and eliminating food-borne hazards in the country.

Sports / Mikel Obi Officially Changes His Name by gbolakpine(m): 2:32pm On Aug 02, 2016
Nigeria international and Chelsea star, John Mikel Obi has officially changed his name after a mistake in 2003.

Mikel was born and named John Michael Nchekwube Obinna but a mistake during the registration process for the 2003 FIFA Under-17 World Cup changed it to Mikel.

The Nigeria Football Association mistakenly submitted ‘Michael’ as ‘Mikel’ for the tournament in Finland.

Despite sticking with the name since then, the midfielder has been using his original name ‘Michael’ for official purposes like drivers licensee, car documents, international passports, etc.

Now according to the UK Evening Standard, the 29-year-old has now officially changed his name to the widely accepted ‘Mikel’.

The midfielder is currently with Nigerian Dream Team VI in the United States where they are camping ahead of the football event of 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

Crime / 22-year-old Fashion Designer Slumps, Dies, After Being Threatened by gbolakpine(m): 8:34am On Aug 02, 2016
A 22-year-old fashion designer slumped and died on Sunday on Orobiyi Street, in Alagbado area of Lagos State. According to Punch, Community youths were said to have attacked one Taofeek Sodiq, who had a disagreement with the victim earlier that day. The youths were about lynching the suspect when policemen from the Alagbado division rescued him.

Punch Metro gathered that the suspect had sent his son on an errand with N500. The 10-year-old was said to have been defrauded by a man who sat in the front of Shotunde’s locked shop.

The boy’s father reportedly accused Shotunde of colluding with the fraudster, insisting on getting back the N500. Sodiq, in the heat of argument, allegedly told the deceased, “You will not live to open your shop tomorrow, if my money is not returned.”

A resident, Owolabi Daod, explained that within three hours, the victim slumped and died.

He said, “Around 10am on Sunday, a man sat in the front of Lukmon’s shop. Another man, who lives in the community, sent his 10-year-old son on an errand with N500.

“But the man in the front of Lukmon’s shop called the boy and asked him to bring the N500 that he would double it for him. The boy foolishly gave him the money and the man absconded.

“A resident, who saw the boy sitting in front of the shop, asked him what he was waiting for. It was at that point the boy knew he had been scammed.” Daod said the boy’s father, upon learning the news, confronted Shotunde and accused him of colluding with the fraudster.

The 22-year-old, who denied the allegation, reportedly asked for a description of the fraudster. He was said to have called one of his friends who fitted the boy’s description; but the boy said he was not the one.

The boy’s father reportedly resorted to threats, insisting that he must recover the money.

“The man came out with a friend and said if he didn’t get his money back, Lukmon will not live to open his shop the next day. We thought it was all over.

“Lukmon was walking back to his shop when he suddenly collapsed. We rushed him to a private hospital where he was confirmed dead,” Daod added.

Punch Metro gathered that residents trooped to the suspect’s house and dragged him out. They were said to have beaten him and were about lynching him when the matter was reported at the police station.

“The police prevented jungle justice on Sunday. A police team had to stay in the community for more than six hours,” a source said. It was learnt that the victim’s father fought off efforts by the police to recover his corpse.

One of Shotunde’s friends, Ayeni Tosin, said he was buried at his father’s residence in Ijoko, Sango, around 11pm on Sunday, Tosin who described his friend as easy-going and gentle, said he was not sick prior to the incident.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, said it was a case of sudden and unnatural death.

She said, “The victim’s father reported that the suspect threatened his son that he would not live to open his shop the next day. After three hours, the deceased slumped and died.

“A joint team of patrol vehicles moved to the scene to remove the body to suppress further tension, but the victim’s father resisted the action of the police on the ground that he wanted to bury his son according to Islamic rites. Investigation is ongoing.”
